Fantastic experience: 5-Star Review – Amazing Experience with Ernesto from Genesis 1 Driving School I can't say enough good things about the experience my daughter had while learning to drive with Ernesto from Genesis 1 Driving School. From the very first lesson, Ernesto made her feel comfortable, confident, and safe behind the wheel. He was incredibly patient, professional, and knowledgeable. His calm and encouraging teaching style helped ease any nerves my daughter had, and he always took the time to explain things clearly and thoroughly. She looked forward to each session and walked away not just with the skills she needed, but with the confidence to drive responsibly and safely. I highly recommend them to any parent looking for a trustworthy, skilled, and supportive driving instructor. Thank you, Ernesto, for your outstanding guidance and support! Let me know if you'd like to add more details like her age, number of sessions, or anything else to personalize it more!

Fantastic experience: Carmen was easy to schedule with, great communication when I had questions or needed to reschedule. My son said she was nice and had he had no complaints. He passed his drivers test at the first attempt. Using them again for my next driver!

Negative experience: I'm writing my review on 3/18/25. Learn from My Mistake –Please Read Before Booking I wish I had checked the reviews before signing my daughters up for this driving school. I didn’t, my mistake. Carmen was recommended by a friend, so I assumed I didn’t need to do my own research. Big mistake. I’m sharing my experience so other parents can avoid the frustration and disappointment we went through. Red Flags Right Away After my daughter’s first lesson, she came home feeling discouraged and confused. Here’s why: 1. Confusing Communication - Carmen frequently says "aha" after every few words, in a way that makes it hard to follow what she’s saying. - My daughter couldn’t tell if Carmen was affirming her driving or just filling space. - When I later spoke with Carmen, I had the same issue—it genuinely sounded like she was talking to someone else while talking to me because her "aha" sounded like she was affirming someone's actions, like a student or coworker. Growing up in a Hispanic household, "aha" meant "yes, that's right," so that's how we were interpreting it—only it was out of place and seemed more like a filler word. This "aha" was followed my other sounds and hand motions that also confused my daughter as she found herself trying to guess what Carmen was trying to communicate. 2. Uncomfortable & Unsafe Seat Adjustments - Carmen uses multiple seat cushions on both seats—which might work for her (she's around 4ft), but was terrible for my daughter. - My daughter is 5’4”, and these cushions raised her 4-5 inches higher than normal. She felt hunched over, tense, and uncomfortable the entire time. Carmen acknowledged her height but insisted she keep the cushions in place. - We had already taught our girls how to properly adjust their seats for safety, and we shared with Carmen that this is something we were hoping they could practice as we don't use cushions in our car, and she completely refused. 3. Carmen Wouldn’t Let My Daughter Actually Steer - Carmen kept her hands on the steering wheel 99% of the time. - My daughter wasn’t as free to practice turning because Carmen would say, “Don't pull the wheel from me.” - She walked away feeling like she hadn’t actually driven at all. -I spoke to Carmen about this and she pulled the "I use my professional judgement and if I feel a kid isn't doing well, I take over" card. Is there any margin for mistakes, or to learn? I reached out to Carmen directly—hoping we could find a solution. That did not go well. - When we got on the phone, she talked over me the entire time and barely let me speak. - She kept repeating how she has years of experience and does things “by the book.” - When I politely asked if we could remove just one cushion for my daughter’s comfort (as long as she could still see over the hood), she flat-out refused. - Instead of working with me, she shut me down and said, “If you don’t like it, go somewhere else.” Final Straw – My Other Daughter’s Experience Carmen then brought up my other daughter’s lesson and complained that she had pressed the gas instead of the brake by mistake. When my daughter laughed at herself, Carmen took offense. I get it—driving is serious. But sometimes people laugh when they mess up. It doesn’t mean they don’t care. Instead of calmly addressing it, Carmen acted as if my daughter was being disrespectful. Bottom Line – Don’t Ignore the Reviews Carmen’s teaching style is rigid, and if you question anything, she won’t work with you.She told my daughter the first day "if we crash, it's on you". Wow. She doesn’t take feedback well and makes you feel like you’re wrong for even bringing up concerns.I wish she had been open to adjusting just a little to help my daughters feel comfortable and confident behind the wheel. Instead, she made it clear—her way or the highway. Parents, please learn from my mistake. If I had read the reviews first, I would have saved my family the stress. Look for a driving instructor who is patient, adaptable, and truly invested in helping your child learn. I strongly recommend you go somewhere else.

Negative experience: A very bad experience happened, had zero patience for my daughter. her attitude is very rude and stressed out my daughter, that's why she is paid an amount to teach and help overcome mistakes and not stress them out and when my daughter told her that she had a little nervous, she had no compassion for her, lack of heart for those young beginners who will be failed memory of her first day!!!! Wasted money, no more Genesis school for our young people, no more! I am very upset my daughter does not deserve to cry for this lady Carmen, I am addressing her and hopefully she will read it and understand that her Work is for a Teacher to teach with Patience and a good Attitude.

Negative experience: I’m posting this review for my sister who just had a lesson with this rude instructor, Carmen. My sister was so shook after the lesson that she wanted to cancel her behind the wheel test cuz rude, impatient Carmen demeaned her. What kind of instructor would tell someone that she would not pass a test and discourage her in any possible way she can? She could have told my sister or anyone that they need more practice in a nice way, and not in a demeaning kind of way. Also, isn’t it just right to let the student adjust rear and side view mirrors so they can see everything? Well, Carmen won’t let you do that! Oh and did I mention that during the 2 hour session that my sister paid for, she went to the bank to encash my sister’s check? Like really? Stay away from this company! Rude, unprofessional and waste of money!

Negative experience: They are so disrespectful and rude please go else where. They wouldn’t answer my concerns regarding my child driving and they are not professional.

Negative experience: She made me take her through the drive thru at McDonald’s to get her a drink and made me pick up another student during my lesson. She also told me I wouldn’t pass my test (which I did first try) and had little to no patience with me at all. She told me to do a lane change in the middle of an intersection, which is highly frowned upon during the test. She would get mad very easily as well. Do not recommend to anybody.

Negative experience: I passed my test at the first try which was good. other than that she was unprofessional. She had no patience at all and doubt i was going to pass and offered more classes before my drivers test. Thankfully i was able to pass on my first try. She would get mad easily and would make me pick up her next customer before dropping me off.

Negative experience: I just dodged a bullet. I called to find out if there's room this month. I get a lady carmen. she says yes and takes time to look and gives me a day. Then she says she's in the car giving a lesson, she ll text me the info. I find it odd that she s picking up on someone else’s time and money. Later she calls back I didn't pick up. I get her text. I m thinking her lesson is over. I call back And she's still in the middle of the same lesson but she's picking up. Later we text again and I ask if tomorrow she thinks she ll be on the phone with other potentials or will she be concentrated on teaching me because it's time I ll pay for. She said she won't be able to do that. What a rude person and this poor man or girl who spend their money for her to be on the phone. No thank you. I pass.

Negative experience: I saw an instructor with a student driver stopped on a roadway clearly posted "No Stopping Any Time", and not wide enough for cars to safely pass. 25 feet behind the sign was a fire hydrant, and the car was stopped between the two. If the instructor is that oblivious or has that much disregard for simple signs and laws, what will he/she impart to students?

Fantastic experience: Im so blessed to have Carmen as my driving instructor last May. She thoroughly instructed me all the things I needed to improve on and I needed to change. All the tips and lessons really helped me passed by test this time. Carmen is not just a driving instructor but also a friend. She encouraged me and supported me on my driving lessons. I highly recommend her.

Negative experience: Do not contact this driving school. The lady (Carmen) that was teaching me how to drive was SUPER rude and would get mad when I made mistakes! She didn’t teach me anything and made me feel so uncomfortable while driving with her. She is so unprofessional! To make this worse she wanted to charge me an extra 100 dollar on the first day but! To save your self time and money do not contact them they don’t know anything about driving!!

Negative experience: Very horrible driving school. She’ll first take your money and be at a place in the name of “teaching how to turn the steering “ for 2 hours. I ever regret contacting this driving school am writing this so people will know how inhuman the instructor is and go to a better driving school

Negative experience: I really didnt like my experience with this driving school. but the plus side is they are very strict which is good but the thing is its very uncomfortable and i feel like theyre just fishing you for more money theyre gonna let you feel like youre gonna crash the car or have an accident all the time its good but it makes you have anxiety and the instructor is very rude and once you step inside the car they will ask a bunch of questions and for the payment right away i mean cmon, you could just alteast wait on it, ive heard a lot of bad reviews about this driving school. and some of them are true the instructor is very rude and i cant understand sometimes she is talking about and for my experience on the lesson 1 HOUR full of questions about driving like she asks you about everything about driving and if she thinks you didnt answer it very well she wont let you drive! it happened to me. almost 1 hour and 10 mins for a lot of questions while she was driving and 40 minutes i drove around the valley which is dissappointing and not worth the money. but i passed my dmv exam but not with this school another Driving School in Santa Clarita. overall, theyre good but they need to work on customer satisfaction and stuff.

Negative experience: Instructor was so rude. I did not like my experience with this school. I know others that had great experiences and took their tests and passed, but I switched to a different school that was right for me because this was not a great fit. The instructor, I believe was named Carmen, but I'm not totally sure, she insisted I get picked up from McDonald's so that they could eat breakfast first and when I told them that I couldn't get there, they told me to get a ride and gave me a hard time about picking me up, when pick ups were actually the selling point for me. While driving, the instructor taught things that were not relevant to driving or to the test, and when I did not master a technique it was met with cynicism and I drove around with her asking me if I had common sense. Very negative. I was so discouraged, I didn't trust myself on the road. I am actually a really great driver and they made me feel like I was the worst. I wouldn't want anyone else to feel like that, but then again, I also know others that have used this school and benefited. I've now passed my test extremely successfully without missing any points from my test, no thanks to Genesis Driving School.

Negative experience: Very rude, do not waste your money. He talks about himself instead of teaching. Brings his wife to ride along. On the day of the test he showed up an hour late!!! I paid for 6 hours of driving, plus use his car and have a one hour lesson before the test. Instead I got a 15 minute rushed drive around the dmv area he still charged the full price. I was so stressed and mad. Needless to say, I did not pass the test. The person doing the test was shocked at how bad my steering tecnique was. I paid for lessons because I did not have anyone else to teach me. Please do yourself a favor and do not hire this man or this driving school.

Negative experience: I get admission with this guy name Ernesto he was so rude charge extra money and bring student to new hall DMV for making / charge extra money that it’s to far and when student failed he became angry and leave students in mid way front on DMV and didn’t talk with them. He really so rude person and also talking with cell phone during driving time And also bring his wife during student class. I suggest people to far way from him if someone want so thay can get one time try with him. I will give him 1 star because there is no zero star.
