Drive Time Driving Instruction

Positive experience: I went through drive time so that i can get my license at 16. Drive Time is a great place to get educated properly about the safety’s and dangers when it comes to driving. Tho, when it to my actual driving time with my instructor, i found him to be a little on the snappy side. I am a new driver and haven’t learned all of the things that can be challenging, so it was a bit stressful. When i went to do the cones it was my first time and they can be a little confusing, whenever i would mess up he would get mad, or slightly raise his voice, one of the times he slammed on his breaks but said that it was the car and it just does that. With being a new driver and a driving coach you need to be able to have a understanding that not everybody is going to be perfect, and there are going to be lots of mistakes made even if you are repetitive about what to do and what not to do. I felt like i was under the pressure to always be perfect when i was in the car with him and whenever i would mess up it was a big deal. overall, DriveTime is a good school, but make sure you have a nice instructor, that can help you through driving without making you feel like you are doing everything wrong when you mess up.

Negative experience: My son passed the class room work. He was scheduled for the driving portion his instructor never showed up for appointment. He let us know days later he had Covid. Nobody would return our calls and nobody reached out to reschedule. I feel like they owe me money back. Due to inconvenience.

Negative experience: I have put 3 kids through Drivetime — 2019, 2021, and now 2025. The first two times went smoothly: classroom instruction, behind-the-wheel training, and licensing — all completed in a timely manner. Unfortunately, this most recent experience was extremely disappointing and unacceptable. My son completed his classroom portion in early February. Based on prior experiences, 3+ months should have been more than sufficient to complete the driving portion and have him prepared to obtain his license near his 16th birthday. Instead, we heard nothing for months. When I finally reached out, I was informed that he had been assigned to an instructor who was unavailable due to surgery — a situation we were never notified about. As a result, my son did not begin his behind-the-wheel driving until nearly a month after his 16th birthday and four months after completing the classroom portion. To make matters worse, upon completing his driving, my son was told he was “lucky” to have gotten on the schedule, as it only happened due to a cancellation. That level of disorganization and poor communication is unacceptable, especially considering the full tuition was paid in advance with the expectation that services would be delivered as promised. Additionally, the lack of professionalism and absolutely zero sense of urgency displayed by Sara throughout this process was extremely frustrating. Communication was dismissive and condescending, with no proactive effort to resolve scheduling delays or keep us informed. Full Payment was gladly accepted, but the customer service and follow-through did not reflect that same level of commitment. This year’s experience was entirely unlike our previous ones. Based on how this situation was handled, I would strongly recommend considering a different driving school in town.

Negative experience: Drive Time is teaching your kids to stay in the middle lane at 70mph or less on I-75. I see this constantly between 582 and BG

Fantastic experience: Doug was a great trainer!! As I was practice cones before my test, he came up and helped me leading to me passing my test the first time! Strongly recommend!!!

Fantastic experience: Passed the driving test with perfects in everything

Fantastic experience: Doug was able to do what I thought was impossible; he taught my son how to do maneuverability in a big sized SUV with ease. Doug was always on- time, decently easy to get ahold of, and easy to talk too, very personable. My son did the same on line drivers ed classes and the driving part with/ at the school. This is my second child that I have put through Drive Time, and I’ve had a decent/ positive experience both times. Thank you Doug and Sara.

Negative experience: Well I never went to this driving school but, My girlfriend was practicing maneuverability and the owner came out and pointed out the sign stating you had to be a student which I was was not aware of nor did I see. Overall was just super rude and disrespectful it’s no wonder this school has a 3.8⭐️ average rating. It all adds up can’t even let anybody just practice on their cones. He didn’t even have a student with him just had to make sure we left.

Fantastic experience: Sarah & Doug are great to work with!!!! They run a great program and are so willing to work with the schedule of your busy teen. Highly recommend Drive Time!!!

Fantastic experience: All 3 of my boys have learned and certified through Drive Time! Each boys' experience was flawless and handled professionally!

Fantastic experience: Doug is a great guy! They have a fantastic, flexible program to get anyone through the proper training. Even in the busy life of sports and extracurricular activities for students they have Sunday classes and even expedited times to get everyone taken care of in a timely manner. Highly recommend them to anyone that needs to get their driving courses in!

Negative experience: Loved the class but didn’t feel like I was apart of the group I just felt very left out and they never told me if I passed or not. I got my licenses by teaching myself. The first day, we had a lady teaching the class I was in she went around the room asking everyone what our dream car was. When she got to me I said “I don’t have a dream car as long as my car gets me to where I need to go is all I care about” apparently that wasn’t a “good enough” answer for her and had the audacity to say in front of all of the other kids in my class that I needed to do more research on my cars. Don’t remember her name and for good reason but she literally made my whole experience that first day worst for me. I suggest anyone else that wants to go to the Findlay drive time, to stick up for themselves like I should have done. The next day we had a different instructor and I liked him more.

Fantastic experience: Very detailed program! Doug does a great job trying to ensure the instructors he has are on time and thorough. Blunt and to the point, which is the only way to be when training new and young drivers to be safe on the roads! Thanks Doug and keep up the great work!

Fantastic experience: Excellent job overall. A special thanks to Doug that found us practicing the cones in their lot after hours and came over to help when he didn't really have to and spent quite a bit of time coaching my daughter in how to do it.

Fantastic experience: I currently do not have kids to send to driver education classes, but I have met both Doug and his wife Sara. They are both very wholesome, caring and professional people. When I visited them at Drive Time, the location was very well kept and felt very safe. I also know for a fact that Doug uses and maintains his vehicles properly and has top notch mechanics work on them, if needed. I would never hesitate to recommend any teen in my family to drive with Doug, Sara and their team.

Fantastic experience: Doug, Sara, and my daughter’s instructor, Takayla, are exceptional. The entire experience from start to finish with Drive Time Driving Instruction was professional, prompt, courteous and top of the line. In the midst of a pandemic and all the challenges that it’s created, I am so thankful I found Doug and Drive Time to ensure my sweet Isabelle could complete her mandatory driving requirements and get her license. Negative experience: Son was turned away being 2 minutes late, policy not mentioned in contact or parents meeting! Now I have to drive him to Bluffton for a makeup class! Supposedly they had taken attendance and already started class in 2 minutes....

Fantastic experience: Sarah and Doug have trained 3 of my kids to drive so far. One more to go. Their instruction is great and they will give whatever time necessary to help their students succeed.

Fantastic experience: This is a great company with owners who truly care about the kids and people that go through their schooling. They do everything in their power to offer classes that are flexible to ALL schedules and prepare our future drivers for the crazy road! I would highly recommend send your future driver here for their schooling!

Fantastic experience: I went through DriveTime school and Doug personally took me on the road and showed me how to drive. The staff there are so kind and truly want to produce knowledgeable and safe drivers. I recommend them to all my high school friends!

Fantastic experience: I personally went to Cruisin’ 2 , but after getting to know Doug & Sarah personally, I wish I would of went to Drivetime instead!!! I’ve learned so much about how they teach and how they do things a little differently is by far better!!

Fantastic experience: This is where you need to send your kids if you want them to learn how to drive the right way! If you want your kid to be another goofball on the road, then send them to another school
