Negative experience: I’m giving this 2 stars because, while I did pass my driving test in the end, it was not because of the training I received here. Throughout my time with the program, I had a different instructor nearly every session, and none of them seemed to have any real understanding of my current skill level or progress. This inconsistency made it difficult to build confidence or feel like I was improving. We were also promised a full practice test during the final hour of driving, but that never happened — which was disappointing and made me feel unprepared for what the actual test would be like. The classroom instruction was helpful for the most part, but there were several sections that felt unnecessary and not directly related to the skills or knowledge needed to pass the exam. During the behind-the-wheel sessions, I often noticed the instructors would be distracted — answering phone calls, looking down at their devices, or focusing on things other than my driving. That left me without the active guidance and feedback I was expecting and paying for. To be fair, everyone I interacted with was kind, patient, and understanding, and I appreciated that. However, the quality of instruction just wasn’t where it needed to be. If it hadn’t been for the extra practice I received with my family outside of the program, I’m confident I wouldn’t have passed the test. I would recommend looking elsewhere or supplementing their lessons heavily if you want to feel truly prepared.

Fantastic experience: I was afraid to learn to drive almost 30 and not driving l wanted to but was stuck in my head and afraid even family was afraid to teach me so I called and booked my appointment. My trainer was Mr Walter and to say he was excellent would’ve been an understatement. In order for my physical growth i needed to rid myself of the cage I was in mentally and he did just that, though blunt he was blatantly honest and as such exceptionally great. Boss lady you made it easy booking and helped with the work around with my work schedule. Thank you each and everyone who contributed it was seamless.

Fantastic experience: We had an amazing experience. The staff answered and returned phone calls, it was easy to make appointments, they eased my concerns. My child took the drivers Ed course and the 6 hour behind the wheel and this was everything required for the Georgia law for teen drivers. She was able to take her road test with the company and they explained everything in detail including the forms needed from school. All that we have to do is take the paperwork to the DMV. I thought we only had one driving school in Columbus....I could not get a call back or appointment with them---Safe Teen called me back within an hour AND this company was $100 less.

Positive experience: I was pleased with the instructors of safe teen driving academy, they instruct you and evaluate you as individual not general population Ms Dot is very nice after talking to her and meeting her instructors I felt comfortable with their contribution to a milestone in my son life.Thank You Choose Safe Teen.

Fantastic experience: Great customer service! Both of my boys have attended this driving school. Ms. Dot (administrator) was very pleasant, the instructor Chris was very patient and the owner was very welcoming. I definitely recommend this driving school.

Fantastic experience: I was nervous going to drivers school because I’m not a typical 16 year old and I have anxiety. Walter was my driving instructor and he really helped me relax behind the wheel and trust my instincts. I had Chris as my drivers test administrator and he was professional and not intimidating. I passed with flying colors thanks to Walter and now I’m finally driving! Thank you Safe Teen Driving Academy.

Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure of enrolling with the Driving Academy and the experience was superb!! My tutor was very professional and displayed a high level of driving skills and patience. He also helped build and strengthen my confidence and as a result I passed the road test with flying colors first attempt!! My examiner was awesome as well and so was my communication with Customer service. It was excellent. I wish to thank your school for such a terrific and rewarding experience!! I highly recommend the Driving Academy to any and everyone wishing to attain their Drivers License. Again, THANK YOU for all you do by placing safe drivers on the roads of Columbus GA.

Fantastic experience: I am glad that we decided to use this driving school. I sent my 15 year old and he did very well. He became a good driver and was successful in getting his drivers license as soon as he turned 16. I would recommend this school to anyone. I had no trouble scheduling drives. Actually, I was also assisting my step son with setting up his drives too. Actually, the times that I set up for the boys worked perfectly with my schedule. To top it off the instructors and staff were very helpful and friendly.

Negative experience: I found them difficult to work with on scheduling. They had no problems taking our payment information when payment was due but availability of instructors was limited and it was difficult to get the driving lessons scheduled. There were a couple of instances where instructors acted unprofessionally. I rarely write negative reviews unless there are major red flags and I found several here. I used Barber’s Driving School with a different child and had no issues. Will only deal with them in the future.
