Sampson Community College Truck Driving Program: Reviews
Fantastic experience: First I want to say if you want CDLS, come here. PATSY, you're a awesome trainer and so patient, I will miss our time riding together. I will continue to do better and not let you down. Second is I want to say LAWRENCE, TAMMY, LT, ROBIN, QUAN, ANTHONY, You all are the best and will not let y'all down either, If it weren't for all of the instructors and trainers, we wouldn't have a CDL license. This School is the best and they don't favor noone and they're strict but in a awesome way, everyone here wants to see you graduate and succeed.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely love this training school 10/10 recommend, if you are looking for Superior driving skills and professional staff this is the place
Fantastic experience: Awesome school I recommend. It's all what you put into it they're not going to hold your hand!!! I salute The staff for coming early AM before the class start to help us get extra reps and comfortability behind the wheel. Great instructors but once again they are not going to hold your hands because it's real out here on the road so it's very understanding that they just can't hand you these license You got to really want it!!! Thanks Sampson
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this school…i graduated a couple of months ago. This school is hands on with great instructors
Fantastic experience: I had the best experience in my life there , Tammy , lawerance , lt ….. it was a family type thing as I felt 100 percent confident in my abilities as I listen , followed rules and the magic worked by itself . They beleive in you front the get go . It’s up to u to prove it ! Amazing experience in my life ❤️
Fantastic experience: I’ll give an A to the school. A to the instructors. I had a great time learning to navigate those 18 wheelers. It was the backing up for me. I was able to practice often so I conquered it. It is also a reasonable price. No student debt… I definitely recommend this school.
Fantastic experience: Will my experience with this truck driving school was great. They taught a lot things I didn't know and what if.
Fantastic experience: High value instruction for a really good price. The quality of instructors and their different expertise levels was impressive. I did the weekend class and definitely learned more than I thought possible for the amount of time. Tuition was very fair compared to other schools. Excellent equipment, nice courses, instructors definitely force you to level up and be accountable.
Fantastic experience: Was in and out in about 7 weeks , graduated back in April. I got lucky to be in a class full of great people and such down to earth instructors. Test come fast but they give you more than enough time to be ready and any of the instructors will come give you a helping hand if asked.
Positive experience: Attended Sampson community college truck driving program in January of 2024. I loved the class I was with. Everyone was very positive including the instructors. I feel like I learned everything I needed to know about driving an controlling an 18 wheeler. Learning stick shift was even better. In the end I earned my CDL’S !
Positive experience: I graduated this school several months ago. There were instructors who benefited my life. Lock, Robin and Patsy especially. LT showed me tricks of the trade and Reuben taught me confidence. I had to work on my comfortability and by the right support I got there. I have been working ever since and it would not have been the case without my road instructors and field instructors. I have family members attending so that means something. I hope the program serves others as it did me and it only improves.
Fantastic experience: Great program! Instructors were very detail oriented and taught me everything I needed to know. Never had touched a rig before going to that class and after leaving I had all the training and information I needed to hit the road.
Fantastic experience: I went to this School to get my Cdl , I loved it . The staff was extremely knowledgeable and detailed in there lessons both inside and outside the class. They were attentive to any questions. Before School I had no idea how to drive manual , thanks to SCC Truck Driving Program I have my CDL and they helped me get on a path to success. Thank you guys for believing in me Class of March 2023
Fantastic experience: Went through this school last year they taught me the basics of how to do everything properly and if I needed help they would break it down and explain to me how to do something one thing I had to learn the hard way is nobody can do it for you. You have to have guts and truly want to drive a truck I understood early on they can’t literally teach you everything at the end of the day you are the driver but overall great instructors good school I recommend 100%
Fantastic experience: Great school to go to and staff are all willing to help us, doesn’t matter if you’ve just started driving or you’ve driven other trucks for a while they’re still gonna help. I enjoyed my time out there and had a lot of fun learning how to drive and operate a 18 wheeler. One thing I will say though is that they’re not gonna babysit you through it and you got to be willing to learn and put forth the time in order to learn how to operate it properly. I keep seeing people talk about favoritism, but I sure didn’t see it while I was out there. Most of the people that talk about favoritism are the ones that didn’t put forth the effort to learn the right way of doing things and thought they could just do it their way when it didn’t work, everyone of the instructors was willing to help whenever possible but they wasn’t going to babysit you, and they could tell who was the ones that wanted to actually learn versus the people that was just there to have a weekend to do something, if you’re thinking about taking this class, you need to take it seriously and ask for help whenever possible and don’t just expect the instructors to just babysit you through it because at the end of the day this is your CDL’s. And at end of the class they have given you enough skills in order to be able to drive. So either you know how to drive or you don’t, if you don’t pass, that just means they don’t think you’ll be safe to be on the road with other vehicles, driving a 18 wheeler ain’t meant for everybody so before you take the class think about it. I would definitely recommend this school for your CDL’s!!!!!!
Fantastic experience: I attended Sampson community back in February and graduated in April. Great school with great instructors both on the road and on campus. I learned how to drive a manual transmission and how to properly back a truck into a parking spot. Highly recommended.
Fantastic experience: I went through this school back in 2014. I had never drove a stick shift in my life. They taught me how to shift and operate the truck safely. I’m so thankful for all they taught me.
Fantastic experience: The instructors are very good at what they do. The way they teach and explain step by step how to properly shift and control the truck and trailer was very helpful, especially to someone who has never been behind the wheel of anything that big. The instructors are very hard in the way they teach so when you go out on the road with out them there you will know how to properly drive for the safety of others and the safety of yourself. When your not doing what your supposed to they will let you know and if you keep doing it with out correcting it they will stop you and show you how to do it properly, for someone who came if with little to no idea what he was doing and left with a whole lot more than he came with it honestly an excellent experience. I am very great full for everything the instructors taught me and helped me and I want to say thank you to all of them for everything they did during the class to help me be a great truck driver.
Fantastic experience: Sampson community College truck driving is a good school to go to learn how to operate, to do pre-trip and learn how to drive and be aware of others. I love Ms Tammy Bryant cause she stay on me, never gave up on me and most of all they care for their students.
Positive experience: Im a Single Mom, I went here from 9/21-12/21. My instructors were down to earth, cool, knowledgeable and approachable. They didn't cuddle me, but, when I had a couple of meltdowns they ALWAYS took the time to console me and talk me through it. When I cried & wanted to give up and Quit, they encouraged me to get back in that truck and try it again and I did, Therefore I'm now a Truck Driver/ Carhauler 3 years and counting! BLESSED and Highly Favored! God knows I couldn't have done it without them. This school & Instructors truly changed my life Even to this day, i csn pick up the phone and call any of my old instructors to ask questions!❤️ Special thanks to my instructors Tammy, Robin, Lawrence, Cindy, Steven, Kevin, and D. (Note: You get out of it, what you put into it)
Fantastic experience: I got my CDL from Sampson 3 years ago and it was life changing. I loved my class and went in not knowing anything and finished confident.
Fantastic experience: Got my CDLs here, great instructors, lot of time to practice backing and shifting gears !
Fantastic experience: Great school. I was on the part time class and they prepare you for a lot. A lot of the instructors have put in a lot of time into this career and are still putting in time in while preparing the next generation of truckers. I’ve been driving for 3 years now and I can still call on my old instructors anytime I have a question on something. Money well spent.
Fantastic experience: I went through this school to get my CDL’s and loved it. Yes, I was not thrilled about going for 16 weeks but they made it go by quick and I learned a lot from it. The instructors may be hard on you but they care about each person and wanted all of us to succeed! I would recommend this school to anyone as I already have
Fantastic experience: Instructors are great at showing you a demonstration they also let you practice on your own an if you need help they come an help you . Loved the school I would recommend it to anyone! They have day classes an weekend classes.
Positive experience: My time at this school was dreadful. Most of the instructors are very good. But they don't have enough instructors on the field to help during field exercises nor do they have enough stations on the field excercises for the size of the group. In other words some days you may only get in the truck to practice field a field excercise once for 5 minutes out of a 9 hr day. And they do have a couple of instructors that have almost no patience. And decide in their mind early on that you're not going to pass and show and additude of being frustrated and telling you that you won't pass if you don't seem to get it within the first 2 or 3 times of try a new excercise.
Negative experience: If you are hearing impaired and the instructor will screw you over big time. I took this class for 16 weeks and he told me he failed me on 13 weeks and I was there everyday no missed classes. This college is joke and don’t like hard hearing people like deaf so don’t mess with this college just go somewhere else
Fantastic experience: Great school, great instructors ,and a great experience I would recommend anybody trying to get there cdls to go here
Negative experience: I went to SCC to get my CDL’S but I missed 1 day and teacher said I would not be able to catch up in class from missing that 1 day so I stopped going.
