Negative experience: I would like to share my experience with "American" driving school that occurred approximately twenty years ago. The encounter left a lasting impression on me, prompting me to leave a review even after all this time. During my time with the company, I was assigned an instructor who happened to be the spouse of the owner. Although the instructor presented himself as the head of the company, it was clarified that his wife, due to immigration reasons or other circumstances, held the official role. At that time, she managed the scheduling aspect. While I sat in the car during one of my lessons, located in Bensalem between Hulmeville and Bristol Pike, I experienced a delay of approximately thirty minutes as the instructor attended to personal matters. This included obtaining snacks for himself, picking up political signs, and conversing with his gardener. Our subsequent driving session took us around Bensalem, during which we made numerous illegal stops to put up political signs. The instruction itself was minimal, mainly consisting of the instructor engaging in egotistical monologues about himself. His demeanor was consistently condescending, making it challenging for me to understand his slurred speech, often obstructed by substances in his mouth. Additionally, the condition of the car, a Toyota Matrix Hatchback, was notably unclean. Despite these concerning experiences, I completed two lessons without voicing any complaints. This was partly due to having already finished the classroom portion and fearing any potential repercussions for expressing dissatisfaction. In hindsight, the instructor's overall performance was severely lacking in all aspects. I cannot recommend this establishment, particularly if you wish to avoid subjecting your child to a traumatizing experience. It is worth noting that many of the positive reviews on this platform are contributed by faceless profiles without any other reviews, which contrasts with the negative reviews that appear to be genuine. I have no knowledge of or interest in the political signs displayed during my lesson, as their presence was inappropriate. Furthermore, the instructor abruptly cut our second session short to start another one, and subsequently, I faced difficulties in scheduling the third session. Despite numerous attempts to contact them, the driving school was unresponsive, yet had no issue cashing our check. Ultimately, I never received the certificate from them. Fortunately, my insurance company did not require proof, but merely inquired about it. I met their standards even though I did not complete the final two hours of behind-the-wheel training with this instructor. In retrospect, I wish I had known about the insurance requirements earlier. While I hope that the driving school has improved its practices since my encounter, the information presented here suggests otherwise.

Fantastic experience: Ian is an excellent driving instructor! He helped my son pass his driver's test on the first try. He is patient and knowledgeable and always ensured my son felt comfortable behind the wheel. He is also very good at explaining the rules of the road in a way that students can understand. I am grateful for Ian's help. He made learning how to drive much easier and more enjoyable for my son. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a great driving instructor.

Fantastic experience: Ian and his business American Driving School has been around for decades. Ian has not only helped me get my drivers license in 1994, but helped my daughters obtain their licenses as well and the most recent one was today. America Driving school is a family owned and locally ran in Bucks county, they very informative and you are guaranteed to pass as long as listen and learn. I’m giving him 5stars all day long because, from 1994 to 2022, Ian has yet to let me down when it comes to teaching one to drive! Thank you!

Negative experience: American Driving School is the WORST driving school out there. I was signed up for a three hour lesson and it was brutal. The driver yelled at me the entire time I was in the car. I learned NOTHING! I had to leave after 1.5 hours because I just couldn't take it anymore. I came to learn, not to be yelled at the entire time. When I called the business to rectify the issue, they claimed that I was lying (as if the woman (Mary) was in the car with me). I'm out $75 dollars and I would NEVER, I mean NEVER do business with these crooks ever again! STAY AWAY from this driving school.

Negative experience: Do not come here! The instructor was so mean! This is a disgrace to new driver’s. Please do not come here unless you want to be treated like you’re nothing. Instructors are supposed to be NICE, not CONDESENDING! They took our money and gave NOTHING in return!

Negative experience: HORRIBLE DRIVING SCHOOL! The instructor was MEAN and condescending! I will never ever recommend this school! The owner, Mary, is so rude as well! And when we tried to let her know what happened, she would not let us talk! Please do not go to this school!! Beware! Also...they make you drive other kids back home, even during the coronvirus!

Negative experience: Do not use this company, they never respond to calls, do not follow through for appointment scheduling, had to send daughter to another company for the driving portion of the test due to their lack or response to schedule. She did already pay and complete the online course and is still unable to get the certificate which is needed to get car insurance discount. Still battling to get the certificate. Advice- do not use this company. Use Affordable Driving School, they are very professional and quick to respond.

Negative experience: Unprofessional, rude old woman answers the phone. They don’t keep records of your child’s lessons so be advised if you need proof later you are out of luck. Go elsewhere.

Negative experience: My instructor was awful. He would scold me at every possible opportunity, saying that i must have short-term memory loss! Or maybe it has to do with the fact that you're a terrible instructor that would make snide under the breath comments, and when I asked what he had said, to attempt to take it as "constructive criticism", he would completely divert the conversation. Who does he think he is?! In fact, during one of the lessons, I drove to Rite-Aid, and waited in the car for 15 minutes while he went in, and bought candy. So after 2 lessons with this "instructor", it was time to take the test. While waiting for the the examiner, he began to vaguely teach me the mechanics of his car. Speaking of his car, the interior was a complete disgrace to any semblance of dignity this man may have once had. There were candy wrappers, files, and crumbs all throughout the car, and he spent the final minutes prior to my test haphazardly cleaned the back of his car, while talking to another instructor. I hope these man's actions do not reflect the philosophies of this company.

Fantastic experience: Just had my first lesson and loved it. I was hesitant at first because of the reviews but took a chance and I’m glad I did! Already scheduled my next lesson and plan on taking my test on the one after that. My teacher Ain was patient and informative.

Negative experience: Worst experience ever...instructor kept my daughter out beyond scheduled time to pick up another student...Mary continued to call and text my daughter NOT the parents after we told her we no longer needed their services...they changed the appointment we set up without our authorization and when we showed up at DMV we could not take our test. They setup at a different DMV on a different date! When we called about it they LIED! They told us we don' schedule tests. We too are contacting the DMV, BBB, and Department of Ed as this is where the license is registered.

Fantastic experience: This is the second time I have used this company. They are great. They made my son feel comfortable right from the very first lesson. I would recommend this driving school!

Negative experience: Please be aware that this place changes your appt without your knowledge and has been confronted for committing identify theft to people who chose not to take their drivers test with them. Fantastic experience: I have been in the USA for 4 months and due to my work i needed the license pretty fast. I contact other companies and the first sentence after "hello this is ........" was " the price is....." American school was very helpful. It got me a date to take the exam 2 months before the one I got from the DMV and with two hours before the exam and the good pointers from Ian the test was very easy. I tecomend them anytime

Negative experience: Booked this school to instruct my daughter last week. Spoke to Mary yesterday and confirmed appointment. Instructor was a no show today. No call to reschedule and no one answered the phone at American. Left a message and no one called back. Maybe they need to be instructed on how to run a business? One star was probably too generous.

Fantastic experience: After my daughter failed 2 times so I researched online and came across American Driving School. They are very professional and courteous. My daughter failed on Friday so she would have to wait another month for a driving appt. To my surprise they found her a cancelled appt on the very next day Saturday morning!!! They arrived exactly on time at 6:45 am in an almost new car and he instructed her on exactly how to pass the test. it cost me $218.00 to pick her up, a 2 hour lesson, looking around for a cancelled appt ,taking the test and finally driving her home. it is worth every single penny. Trust me and do not listen to any negative reviews. This is the best place to go and they have over a 99% passing rate. Don't hesitate on the money because it's definatly worth it. Fantastic experience: Extremely patient and willing to teach you EXACTLY everything you need to know for your exam! Because of this driving school I passed my license test on the first shot!! Thank you Ian could not have done it without you!

Fantastic experience: They are the best. I am 27 yrs old, and was never taught to drive. The instructor Theresa picked me up every weekend, on time. We went over skill possible. Safety, signal control, speed control, turning, merging, parking. etc They make sure you are ready for the test. I passed the test on my 1st try, and was complemented by the DMV instructor for my description of what i was dong, and my attention to detail. He said it was one of the best performances he has seen in all of his years of driving. I highly recommend going with American Driving School if you want to get your license.
