Negative experience: I booked a lesson with Leon to build confidence behind the wheel since I haven’t driven in a while. I made it clear that I was nervous and still inexperienced, but instead of being patient or instructional, he treated the session like a driving exam. He mostly just gave me directions without offering tips, corrections, or guidance that would actually help me improve. I left the lesson feeling discouraged rather than more confident. Overall, not a very helpful experience.

Fantastic experience: Leon was a patient and thoughtful instructor. I felt very safe in the car with him and was able to ask him any question I wanted. I passed on the first time and would highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I had a bad experience with an instructor from a nearby competitor and I lost confidence for a while. From the very first lesson with Leon I felt confident and relaxed due to his patience and calm manner of giving information. He was very motivating and brought up my confidence a lot!!

Fantastic experience: I took a single lesson with Leon before my driving test because I wasn’t feeling very confident. With his help, I made huge improvements in braking, driving at the correct speed, changing lanes, and becoming a more confident and cautious driver overall. I highly recommend Leon as an instructor; he’s polite, knowledgeable, and thought practical techniques (such as how to position the bottom of your foot when braking for a smooth stop) that helped me ace my behind‑the‑wheel test.

Negative experience: Paid $450 for my daughter to have driving lessons. Booked the first lesson and the instructor canceled 40 mins before the lesson. We didn’t travel to CO this week just for this appt. When people flake or cancel on you last minute, they have no idea what had to be coordinated to make it work on the other persons end. Very disappointing, lacks professionalism and I am going to try and get money back and book with a company that shows up. How about that concept!

Negative experience: Extremely unprofessional. I scheduled a driving lesson, paid a deposit, and shared my availability in advance. The instructor never confirmed the address—and then canceled the appointment just 40 minutes before it was scheduled to begin.

Fantastic experience: I had the best experience. I was given critical constructive criticism and got my license on the first try after only 6 hours of practice. Highly recommend

Fantastic experience: Leon is the best! He is an awesome instructor. I am extremely satisfied with my classes taken with him, and he’s helped me a ton to further in my driving experience. I had him for two classes and let me tell you- he is extremely attentive to the needs of his students, and it helped me a lot to get over my drivers anxiety !! He takes the time to explain things that other instructors look over- and his explanations make a ton of sense. He is sensible, and very patient with his students. He is very timely and looks out for his students. He’s definitely the best instructor I have taken and let me tell you- a good instructor makes a big difference in your life and during driving. Not just for the drivers test- which I passed immediately after these two classes with him. I was able to update my driving habits and it’s made a huge impact in my driving both off and on the highway. 1000% would recommend and would take again! Even if it’s not for a drivers test and just to get over initial driving anxiety it’s just great to have a responsible person like him to support during a driving lesson! Thank you for being awesome, Leon!!

Positive experience: Here after getting my license, if you want to feel like a DMV instructor is teaching you go with this guy he can be friendly but at the same time he can act like them DMV examiner lol learned a lot. 4 starts and not 5 just for the old car.

Fantastic experience: I paid for the drive test package and Leon was really helpful with the lesson before the test. And the process was quick and smooth and I ended up passing! Would recommend the drive test package for people new to the country that have driven before but just need a car rental + a few tips.

He was super patient and calmly walked me through the process with constructive criticism, words of encouragement and professional guidance. I passed on my first try at the Santa Monica DMV. I did the 2 hour to have him evaluate me and we went through the Santa Monica course and he made sure I was ready. I passed today :)

Fantastic experience: I had a good experience in having the driving lessons with Leon. Granted, I made quite a number of mistakes during the lessons, but Leon promptly pointed these out to me and hey, this is what the lessons were for. Towards the end of the lessons, I felt more confident and he said he felt safe driving with me. So after 5 lessons of driving around Santa Monica, I passed the test on my first attempt!

Fantastic experience: Great driving instructor who really works with you on improving your driving skills. Not only does he teach what you need to do in order to pass, but he also teaches you driving etiquettes and how to be a safe driver in LA. His car is also pretty clean.

Fantastic experience: I had a fantastic experience with Leon Hui. I have a British driving license but had to learn in US and get a US license when I moved here. Leon took me out near my test center, helped me practice the routes, did a mock test, and gave me pointers and advice. I ended up passing with 100% perfect score and no errors - the DMV examiner said he had not seen that happen before. Thank you so so much Leon for your teaching!
