Driving 101 Driving School: Reviews
Fantastic experience: I used this company to practice and take my road exam, and they not only taught me in a comprehensive way,but they made sure I paid attention to the little things rhat most people forget today.i am extremely grateful for their service.Brett Head(Mattingly)
Fantastic experience: Both of my daughters went their. Great school
Fantastic experience: Great experience for my son's driving class and road test. Gave him confidence and experience which allowed him to pass the road test on the first try.
Fantastic experience: The people here were so friendly and made sure to teach everything necessary for driving. Kim was very helpful and patient with me while driving! I was completely prepared for my road test when it came time to take it
Fantastic experience: Great experience! My son took his driving course at the Murrells Inlet location. Kim was his instructor and she was AWESOME. Kim was patient with him, made him feel comfortable on the road, and she took her time to schedule him around his sports schedule. I will definitely return when my other son is able to start driving school.
Fantastic experience: I had an amazing driving instructor, she was very sweet and helped me understand the material. She worked at the one right next to st. James high school. I definitely recommend her!!!
Fantastic experience: As a student, I loved this place! They really prepared me and Kim was a great teacher. I recommend!
Fantastic experience: Great experience. Thank you
Fantastic experience: We had a Great experience with 101 Driving school in the Murrells inlet location. Kim was wonderful my daughter really enjoyed having her as an instructor.
Fantastic experience: I just recently passed my test not even an hour ago, and I have so much to say. Everyone has different experiences I get that, however I saw 0 problems with this school. They treated me with the upmost respect, always kept conversations going, and in general making sure I’m ready for the road. If your child can’t take criticism then they shouldn’t be driving, they are here to critique you, not enable you. I had greg for my hours and test and I loved him! Also Ms.Lynn. Definitely recommend this school for anyone getting their license in the future.
Negative experience: Worst school ever!! After reading the reviews I was apprehensive about enrolling my son. I should have followed my instincts and looked elsewhere. The instructor was not a very nice person, talked non stop about her personal life while giving driving lessons, and made my son feel very uncomfortable when taking the test for his drivers license . I was told later that they have a bad reputation of failing students in order to charge them $75.00 to take the test again I would recommend looking elsewhere if you are looking for a driving school for your child..
Fantastic experience: Such a great experience, Lynn was so sweet. Greg, Kim, & Brent were very nice. I was afraid to show my daughter how to parallel park, they said don’t worry we will teach her. When she went on her 1st of 3 road lessons she went with Greg she listened to his instructions on how to and did it on her first try. He said she did great. Kim even called her parallel park queen. She passed her road test and got her license on her first try. Thank you driving101 you guys are the best!
Fantastic experience: I had used this school in 2018 so not sure what may have changed but I had a positive experience there when I attended. My normal instructor was the husband of the couple that owns the company. He was informative and helped me clarify things i wasn’t sure of or particularly nervous about. He even had me practice a couple things that wouldn’t be on the test but had helped give me some life experience that made a huge difference when I had to move away (for example using interstate and getting on/off ramps - I now have to use the interstate to take my 45min route to work so the practice gave me enough confidence to do so safely). When it came time for my road test I did it with them instead of at the DMV. The owner/instructor had a family emergency at the time so I ended up with a different instructor for my test (who at the time was also a COP at his other job) and I ended up with only 7 points of the 30 you can accumulate and still pass (as a perfect score would be ‘0’). They even have a spot nearby you can go back to randomly to practice parallel parking so long as no one is using it at the time. I’ll be 33 yrs old in October & I didn’t learn to drive until I was 28 when I took their coarse bc no one around me had the patience to deal with my fears/nervousness as I’m the type to want to know exactly what I’m doing before I risk my own or other people’s lives! What little experience I got from going to a Job Corps facility before this was beyond confusing and made both my comprehension and nerves SO much worse so I am forever grateful for the experience I received with Driving 101. I wish there was a branch near the Columbia area so I could pay to get my best friend and her brother their licenses too but sadly there isn’t. So, for those that were running it/employed back in 2018 THANK YOU SO MUCH bc before my coarse it felt like I’d never be able to learn how to drive!
Negative experience: I'm not going to complain on this place as a whole because the instructors that my child drove with was great. I am going to complain on the instructor that gave her the road test. His name is Maurice and he is awful!!! She took her road test today and failed. He basically said she was horrible. Done nothing but criticize everything she done. Even had enough nerve to say she ran a red light but yet you didn't hit the brake not one time on her. How can you say she is horrible but the instructors she drove with said she did great. The whole time he was trying to explain everything she did wrong he didn't make no sense because he would say when i told you to move to the right lane you didn't until I told you too. My child said I did move to the right lane when you told me too and he said yea after I told you too. I mean she isn't a mind reader that is what you are suppose to do instruct her on what to do. I told him exactly how I felt and they will not be getting another $75 out of me. She will test at the DMV where they know what their doing and don't talk so poorly to you. I would not recommend this place to anyone. My other child will not be going here. I should have took her to the DMV in the first place after reading other reviews.
Negative experience: Do not waste your money. I totally agree with 2 other reviews .. do not pay for the road test. It should have been included in the price of the class like other places. Guaranteed automatic fail. My son just took this class . I was told what a good driver he was. They never had a complaint about his driving until test day when they failed him. I was told by Kim Primmer that her twin sister who had previously driven with my son said that he wouldn’t pass the driving test. So if that is how they felt then why did you schedule him to take the test. Obviously they didn’t do their job and as stated by others just wanted the $75 and more. Maybe they should stay off their tablets while the kids are driving and pay attention to them and correct problems !!
Negative experience: Go to DMV for test they will fail you to get another test which is $75
Negative experience: This place is a con, they make you pay $75 for the road test but mark you off for stupid things so you fail and will have to retest which is another $75 each time! Don’t bother with them, look else where!!!
Negative experience: The class and instructors are great however do not pay the extra money to take the driving test it is nothing but a con. My child took this and was marked off for following the instructors direction. They want you to pay another 75 Everytime it is retaken, but it is a con as they will find a way that you will fail it Everytime. I was told the more experienced of the 2 instructors would test, but showed up to find it was someone else don't waste your money
Negative experience: WORST EXPERIENCE EVER….Wasted my time and Money..(Wouldn’t Recommend)
Fantastic experience: Great school! I would definitely recommend!
Negative experience: Paid for 6 hours of behind the wheel and drivers test. My son drove with different teachers and was told different things by each instructor, resulting in him not passing. The female instructor he took the test with was not friendly and spent more time talking about how she worked for the DMV in the past then providing constructive criticism.
Fantastic experience: These people are FANTASTIC such kind people, The front desk Lady was super kind. The older gentlemen that did my test, I believe his name was Mr.Micky. He was so awesome, so kind. I paid 50 for a practice hour which was definitely worth it and 50 to take the test with them. They were so amazing I normally don't write reviews but I had to for these guy's! 10 out of 10 would definitely recommend!!!!!
Negative experience: The driving school was ok . go to DMV for the driving test. My son spent 6 hours behind the wheel with the instructor no problem. He took the driving test with the same instructor and the instructor claimed he had to take control of the car. My son had no idea why. When I asked what happened the instructor told me he tried to turn in front of another car. Then told me it happens more than you would think . my son went to DMV and passed no problem and at DMV it's not 50 dollars.
Fantastic experience: Great school. Two of my children have been there. They are the real deal.
Fantastic experience: I sent both of my teenage girls to Driving 101. They are absolutely fantastic with the kids. Taught them alot.
Fantastic experience: great passed cheap
Fantastic experience: Gave my daughter personalized instruction and kept in touch with me as to what she needed practice on when home. Very thorough from the class to the road instruction. Highly recommend
