Negative experience: Well less than five stars and not even four stars reviews make sense now. Scheduled lessons for my teenager. They are so unprofessional. Nothing to confirm the appointment. No reminder or email. Then the driver arrives today to get my child with a terrible attitude. My daughter had to look for her permit. I found it but she was so intimidated by the driver that she decided to come back home. I don’t recommend them at all! Learn to be more courteous and patient!

Fantastic experience: I contacted Echelon for my daughter’s behind the wheel program. They cover multiple counties and they were able to provide service in Atlantic County. My daughter‘s instructor, Scott H was communicative, prompt and patient. My daughter completed her training in 2 3hr sessions, with two weeks off in between. After finishing her last lesson, she felt much more confident, experienced driving in a variety of situations, such as neighborhoods, County roads, and highways like the Garden State Parkway. Scott provided me areas where she needs a little more practice than others, and she identified the same area as herself. Before going out driving, Scott came to the house, collected all of the necessary identification, the $10 for the permit at MVC, and went to MVC and handled all of that himself. When she came home from this last lesson, her appointment to have her official drivers test for her 17th birthday, is already made. Highly recommend contacting Echelon if you are in the Atlantic County area, the price is commensurate with local schools, and they were able to provide service substantially sooner.

Fantastic experience: I spent two hours with the instructor named Sandy. She was very pleasant, very informative and patient with me. She made sure I was comfortable with whatever task I was doing before we moved onto the next one. I highly recommend this place!

Negative experience: Do not give these guys your information! I called about pricing and they continually call even my minor daughter's phone. I requested that they stop and continue calling me.

Positive experience: My family's experience with this school was pretty bad. With my three 16-year-olds, the (different) instructors always cut the lessons short, so we only got at best 4.5-5 hours out of 6 paid. When we were getting ready for our trip to Europe, my husband took manual shift lessons with the school. Upon renting a car in Europe, it became clear that the only thing the instructor cared about was the car not being abused by a novice manual shift driver, so he didn't teach my husband pretty much anything. For example, they only drove where there wasn't any need to stop or change gears, which are essential skills for manual shift driving, and my husband didn't have a chance to practice them.

Negative experience: Watched an instructor almost hit my car because they weren’t paying attention merging into rt 38 from 295 without LOOKING no signal nothing, holding their phone driving on a call used 0 turn signals from rt 38 into the centerton plaza the entire time driving incredibly reckless Thank god nobody was in the car but the instructor but they absolutely should NOT be teaching children drive if this is how you act without anyone in the car in a company car no less!

Negative experience: The school refuses to call me back or refund my money for the lessons my daughter did NOT have! Awful customer service! Scam

Negative experience: Took several lessons with Echelon and learned way more at a different driving school. Echelon is not recommended.

Fantastic experience: I called because I needed a car rental for the driving test the day of my test and they accommodated accordingly to me. The owner is so nice as well and very friendly. The instructor I had was very professional and gave me good tips. The only downside is that they only take cash!

Fantastic experience: They also help adults drive, George was really nice and calm on my wife’s first lesson never getting loud when a mistake was made. My wife had Edna on her second lesson she was laid back exactly like a passenger and not as a teacher, only pointing out thing that was wrong, and answering any questions both were great and professional, each teach a different style we also had Edna for her test day along with an extra hr refresh before , she passed on her first try. Over all a great experience and was worth the money, also this was my driving school my mom got me lessons with also 30 years ago.

Fantastic experience: I really felt the need to give a review on the best instructor in South Jersey. I've had at least 3 other instructors and felt extremely discouraged because of their lack of patience. The money I put out was a waste and I wanted to give up until I met Ms. EDNA. Her patience, knowledge, and personality made every session more than what I hoped for. It's not easy for most to learn to drive, but when you're given the right person it can be done. Thank you Ms. EDNA for all that you've done and also for helping me get my license on 1st try. Trust me you will NOT go wrong with her. God Bless you Ms. Edna .. L.G

Negative experience: You might as well trust a monkey to operate that business, and here’s why - they don’t keep track of any customers - they will not remember you at all - they don’t even know there own prices - forgot I was a person of disability driving so I had to reschedule my driving -instructor sucked in terms of not sticking to a time that you paid for - they don’t accept card in the 21st century -they fumble a lot within their little business in terms of communication - they didn’t accommodate to my disability at all There’s more but you get the point, I do not recommend

Negative experience: I contacted this driving school because it was very close to my residence to set up lessons for my daughter. The woman in the office, I believe her name is Joanne was so professional and efficient. However, they only accept Cash or Check. I personally have not had a checkbook in years so I paid cash to the owner in the office. If I recall correctly the total was $425 but I may be off by a few. My daughter received her first 3 hours of lessons and then upon her 2nd lesson appointment which was months after her first, the driver demanded payment. The driver was very rude, as I tried to explain that I paid. He tells me he has other things he could be doing. He was a very miserable older man.. I immediately contacted the office and left a message with the nice lady in the office requesting the owner and never got a call back by the owner. I waited a few days and called the office again and the owner answered. He states that he had no record of the payment. I asked him how could that be ? He asked me for the receipt. I told him, I do not know where it is as she had already had half of her lessons and months had passed, I did not think that the payment would be lost. The owner offered no resolution besides me finding the receipt. I learned a lesson on this and it is to never pay cash or if I do hold on to the receipt no matter how much times passes. If you use this school, please do not make the same mistake I did. I signed my daughter up for lessons at another driving school and used my credit card. I wasn't paying the same school twice. This was an expensive lesson for me but it was a lesson learned.

Fantastic experience: Edna was a fantastic instructor! My daughter is a confident and safe driver. The entire staff is friendly and helpful. They listened attentively to any concerns or questions we had. A great experience!

Negative experience: My son had a scheduled pick up for 7-8 no show. No one called at all. This is bad busy my son was so excited to be finally going out to learn. I had to let him know it wasn't happening. Why be in business if you don't want to do your job. I won't recommend this company to anyone. DON'T DO IT. TAKE YOUR MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Negative experience: I had an AWFUL EXPERINCE first the car that I had to use was in horrible condition while I had to do parrall parking the car wheel didn’t even naturally turn I had to use all my strength and I failed my test because of it and then the prices was OUTRAGEOUS for the lil help I got from my Intruster he literally almost had a car hit me from behind bc he was switching lanes for me just moving the whole and was using up all of the time that I PAD FOR trying to fix his belt and kept wiping down the windshield do not waste ur money using this company

Fantastic experience: Scott was an amazing instructor. He taught me everything I needed to know and more. Very professional, early to our appointments and also took me to my driving test. I passed first try! I appreciate everything he had taught me! 10/10 recommended.

Negative experience: Echelon driving school was a no show no call for my daughters first scheduled lesson. They were scheduled to pick her up from school at the and of the school day. All buses had left already and no late buses available. She was stranded at school with no way home I had to leave work early and lose pay to go pick her up. I got no real response or reaction other than the instructor was unaware of her schedule. So unprofessional. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!!! VERY DISAPPOINTED AND QUITE FRANY ANGRY!

Fantastic experience: My mom used Echelon Driving School for me, and I just used them fo my daughter. Joan was super nice, and patient with my daughter. She showed up at all the agreed days and times. I definitely would use them again if I had more children, and I'll definitely refer them to friends and family.

Negative experience: Called the guy took my son out once, told him not to call the office call him directly. I called the office to setup another appointment no return call. Not professional -- sad.

Fantastic experience: I really enjoyed learning how to drive I had Mr.Gorge he helped me relax when I was taking the driving lessons he made it a good experience that I called back for him to take me back out for my road test I practiced for a hour then I drive to the testing area & I passed!!!!! Thank you again Mr.Gorge for all of your help/tips!!!!

Negative experience: DO NOT USE THEY NEVER SHOWED UP! THE DRIVING SCHOOL I WANTED TO USE DIDNT HAVE ANYTHING FOR 2 MONTHS. I HEARD THEY DO THIS AND I SPECIFICALLY STATED THAT THIS WAS THEIR REPUTATION. PLEASE DO NOT USE THEM EVER!!

Fantastic experience: Just had a two hour session with the school the gentleman that was my instructor was wonderful he was patient and reassuring did not yell and I am a lot more confident now then I was. Would recommend to anyone looking for driving leasons

Fantastic experience: I was very nervous when I was learning to drive and the instructor Mike from the Echelon driving school was very nice and proffessional . He taught me really well and safe driving .I completed my 6 hours lessons with the instructor Mike, who is extremely helpful and proffessional . I passed my driving test today and I am not a nervous driver anymore. I will recommend this driving school to anyone and everyone with instructor Mike.Thanks..Deepa Patra

Negative experience: My 16 year old daughter took lessons from this place. Her Father signed her up for this course, as well as paid for the lessons. The instructor that showed up (came on a day he wasn't scheduled to come and claimed he "left a message with someone") was about 75 years old. Right away, my daughter was uncomfortable. We figured we'd give it a try. According to my daughter, this "instructor" made her drive all the way from Trenton to Belmar (on Interstate 95) and then proceeded to fall asleep while she was driving! This was her first lesson! I really wish she would have told me this right away instead of waiting until the 6 hrs were completed. My daughter is still quite nervous and is in NO WAY ready to take her road test next month. I have been working with her as well to help build her skills and confidence. I called the driving school to let them know how unhappy we were with their service and was told "They were sorry to hear that but I could sign her up for another class - at MY COST of $55 per hour" and "Just because we were not happy with the instructor doesn't qualify us for any free lessons". I really wish that my ex had researched this place prior to setting our daughter up for lessons. Very unhappy with the service and would NOT recommend this place to anyone.
