Austin Driving School: Reviews
Negative experience: I can vouch for the reviews. I wish I would have done my homework and looked at the reviews before I gave them my money. Parents...find a new driving school or do the full parent taught option with your child. THIS is NOT the best option. After my child letting me know how horrible it is it gives me anxiety so I can't imagine how the kids feel. I repeat...FIND A DIFFERENT DRIVING SCHOOL ( I HAVE EXPERIENCED THE RUDENESS FROM THE LADY AT PFLUGERVILLE LOCATION)
Negative experience: I went here for my behind the wheel. You will get the hours necessary to get your license but you will not enjoy it. The front desk woman is extremely rude to everyone and vocally expressed her vitriol for trans people.
Negative experience: What the heck is wrong with the old lady at the front desk!? She was rude and condescending and acted like my child and I were idiots for trying to book driving lessons. There are plenty of other driving schools in town. Avoid this place!!
Negative experience: This place is ok. I wouldn’t recommend it if you actually want to learn, as all of the answers are just read off to you with little explanation. The front desk lady is rude and ignorant and treated me with disrespect when I did nothing. I was able to get my permit after attending, but I didn’t do any of the 14 driving/observation hours as i honestly just wanted to be done with this place the minute the 16 days ended. I attended the 11-1 morning session and my instructor was a fairly nice black man. He did put students that were obviously socially anxious in kind of awkward embarrassing situations and I felt bad. Overall there were no issues with my instructor, just the way of teaching. Answers were just read off “#1 is A, #2 is C” and so on. They definitely did have useful information. My biggest complaint was the evening instructor who I think did the 5-7 classes. This was kind of crazy. Although my class only had to deal with him once or twice, I can only imagine what the other class went through (the evening session he taught). No matter what political views or opinions you have, I’m sure it would be upsetting hearing that this is what your child was “learning” after you pay for the driving school costs. This was very disappointing having to listen to this grown man ramble on and on about political issues to teenagers- completely unrelated to driving whatsoever. He went on this rant for so long we had to stay an extra 5 or so minutes after the class time ended to fill in the answers on our answer sheets. To give an idea on how unrelated this was- he furiously talked about some sort of law or something in which people are trying to remove playgrounds from fast food places (like McDonalds play places) because the play area will draw in children’s attention which is bad because McDonalds will make them fat? These were his words, and personally I have heard nothing about this. He then went on to talk about any political figures voting for this law deserve to “sit on a bus with crying and screaming children for hours until they change their mind”. Many other controversial topics were brought up, while all students were just sitting quietly. Honestly being in that room felt like you were the first people he got to express his opinions to in a very long time. At the end of the day I finished and got my permit, so whatever. But like I said I can only imagine what that evening class dealt with because honestly at the end of this guys rant my ears were about ready to bleed. There’s probably better options out there for a driving school for you or your child and I would definitely recommend trying to find something better. Thanks for reading.
Negative experience: I'm U.S. Marine Corps veteran. I'm a licensed firearms instructor. Tonight, my kid came home with a 50-minute recording of his instructor. Not only did the instructor not cover relevant information, but he also talked at great length about erroneous stories that appear to have very little fact to them. He also bragged about and encouraged committing stolen valor. He wears an Army Camo blouse and tells the class to follow his lead even though he's never served. He bragged about brandishing an AR15 at various homeless people and political protestors. He encouraged the class to bring weapons to school. This is all on recording. As a veteran, I am incensed. As a firearms instructor, I fear for these kids because this is not a safe or responsible man.
Negative experience: As a former student, do not send your child here. Everyone from the receptionist, to the teachers, to the instructors should not be anywhere near people let alone teenagers. The classroom portion was chaotically taught, the in car lessons were borderline illegal, and despite an almost 500$ payment for both they refused to continue my drive hours for 2 years. In addition, almost every worker there is a smoke and the smell in that building definitely reflects that
Fantastic experience: Great driving school with great customer service!! I have had my child go through their program in the pflugerville location and I have been very impressed with the outcome. The staff there is very professional, always happy and eager to help you. Everything was explained throughly and all the teachers were very nice. Their teaching schedule was very flexible. This place is all about safety and teaching your children safe driving and responsibility. This school is worth every penny!. Definitely would recommend to anyone!!.

Negative experience: I called with the intention of asking a couple questions regarding the drivers test and who ever I spoke to on the phone was incredibly rude and unprofessional.
Negative experience: Would give 0 stars if I could! I just called with a question about teenage drivers Ed permit lessons and the woman who answered the phone was extremely rude.
Negative experience: Rude people specially driver test lady
I think you may have us confused with another driving school. We do not actually offer driving tests in Pflugerville.
Negative experience: Girl in testing she’s not professional
I think you may have us confused with another driving school. We do not offer driving tests in Pflugerville.
Negative experience: The lady who’s do drive test she has no respect and yell to people and my device not to go there
Good morning Bashar. I think you may have the wrong driving school. We do not offer driving exams at the location in Pflugerville. Do you mind removing the negative review.
Negative experience: I have never met such a rude person in my life. After having a call with her(front desk) I have decided to go with different driving school. OMG! what is wrong with her. She really needs some anger management counselling.
Negative experience: The front desk lady is the most obnoxiously rude and condescending person I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. She just oozes "I hate my job and I don't want to be here" vibes.
Negative experience: The front desk woman is very rude. I usually just ignore it but today takes the cake. My son was scheduled last minute for a driving lesson today at 5. We had an emergency and I needed to cancel. I tried calling up there for 2 hours before his scheduled drive with no answer or answering machine to leave a message. I received a phone call 5 min. after 5 so I let her know that he will not be there for the lesson, also that I had been trying to call for the last two hours with no answer. She snapped at me, said she had been there implying I was lying and then hung up on me. This is a good school however has very poor customer service. I'm glad we are almost done!
Positive experience: I was here in 2006 and I hit a rough patch here until a fellow instructor believe in me a hundred percent and then I made it out with confidence.
So glad to hear. Thank you so much for your feedback!
Negative experience: I have a bad experience with the lady that answer the phone, she’s RUDE and talk to you like a child on the phone. I have to tell her that I am sorry for calling, I really have to apologize to her even tho i didn’t do anything to her. Please be more professional...
Negative experience: I WOULDN'T recommend this driving school to ANYONE! The lady in the front is RUDE and spoke to me like I was dumb! My daughter is quiet and shy and she was uncomfortable speaking with the lady regarding anything. I paid for the most extensive/expensive package in hopes my daughter would get some more intense driving with a "specialist" this is NOT the case they drive around Pflugerville... NO highway, downtown, parking or anything that would truly be beneficial. It's been some years since I went to driving school (off 183) but I recall having to drive downtown and definitely parking! Hope this helps some of you find a better place for your teen to learn to drive.
Stacy, I'm sorry that you had such a bad experience. Austin Driving School does a very extensive course with each student. They definitely learn to drive on the freeway, residential area, parking, etc. I'm not certain if maybe there was just some miscommunication. You are certainly welcome to reach the corporate office at 512-280-4499 for further assistance.
Negative experience: Front office person was very rude. She didn't greet us and spoke to me like I was incapable of understanding. I explained I read everything online and had spoken with someone on the phone. I was only there to pay.
Negative experience: Always smells like smoke. The instructors are creepy. It's just not a quality school.
