Top Gun Motorcycle Training Centers: Reviews
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend taking this class, whether you’re new or have been riding for years like myself. Jeff and Ryan were awesome at demonstrating and teaching the whole class on how to properly ride and maneuver. Great class that taught me alot!
Fantastic experience: Really good class they explained things to great detail if you don’t understand ask the whole class did pretty well for only riding for 2 days also yes show up 15 minutes early guys we are adults it’s not that hard to be responsible and on time again it’s your money so take this class serious and enjoy your license ! Best of all no discrimination at all everyone is equal just focus on yourself and do your best
Fantastic experience: Awesome they were excellent they explained everything in perfect detail if there was anything wrong with the bike they fixed it instantly they were excellent teachers made it Easy literally just go in there with an open mind and you got it they will repeat any instruction if you ask so if you don’t know just ask I highly recommend them they are perfect When I went they had us pick the bike we wanted I chose the red Kawasaki eliminator felt good for me just listen to them ask questions have fun you’ll do great it was raining during the second day so it was a bit hard but I still passed first try
Negative experience: MAKE SURE YOU DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE SIGNING UP FOR THIS CLASS OR ANY CLASS. I had a horrible experience taking this MSF class. I am a person of a small stature that requires a small and light bike like the Grom. THIS CLASS OFFERS NO SMALL OR LIGHT BIKES FOR PETITE PEOPLE. I asked the instructor if they had lighter bikes and the instructor told me “my ex wife rides a 1000cc motorcycle, it doesn’t matter the weight” BUT IT DOES, THE FIRST THING WHEN IT COMES TO RIDING A MOTORCYCLE IS TO LEARN ON ONE THAT IS NOT TOO HEAVY OR POWERFUL FOR YOU. The bike that I was given was way too heavy for me as I have been learning on a Grom. I was given an old rebel. Which number one is way to heavy for me and number 2 is a horrible bike to learn on bc of the way the clutch and the throttle and seat position is. I dropped my bike so many times due to the heavy weight of the bike. The instructors had no consideration for me seeing me struggle with the heavy bike. I would have perfectly been happy if they told me they had no bikes they felt were comfortable and small enough for me due to my small stature and I would asked for a refund and found another MSF course that had a Grom or the Kawasaki version of the Grom. The instructors seemed to completely rush the course and just not seem to have any consideration that was struggling with the weight of my bike. Eventually due to me dropping my bike so many times they asked me to go home bc I’m not confident enough and need to practice. ISNT THE POINT OF THIS CLASS TO TEACH YOU HOW TO RIDE A BIKE EVEN IF YOU HAVE NO EXPERIENCE. if you are a small stature person I do not recommend to take the class at Top Gun Motorcycle school bc they are setting you up to fail. They have no bikes for petite people. I want a full refund so I can find a better MFS course with smaller and light weight bikes. I had a horrible experience. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE.
Fantastic experience: The instructors are awesome at their job. The class is really fun with lots of time to practice and get some repetition in case you’re not catching on one of the exercises. I’ve never rode on a motorcycle but after about an hour of riding you’ll be really confident in your abilities. I highly recommend this course
Fantastic experience: If you're looking at reviews and going based on the 3 stars and below, you're making a mistake. The course was a very good investment in myself and ignited my excitement for motos. The instructors were A1, awesome, and very informative, but with that, it depends on how YOU want to be in the course. YOU can ask questions or stay quiet, take feedback, but not change. DO NOT BE AFRAID to ask questions. It was my first time on a bike, and I listened to all the constructive criticism and passed the course. Make your dollars count and stay focused!
Negative experience: Im giving 2 stars for poor customer service. I did the MSF class in the midle of April 2023. The training was great I learned a lot. What i did not like was during the exam 1 of the test was the emergency braking. I had 2 do it twice because the instructor told me I braked before the intended cones which I agree. The 2nd one I definitely did what they asked me ,but they told me I didnt pass because I brake again too early which I explained that I dont think I did because I made sure on the 2nd time. The trainer I believe his name is Steve said you can even ask my partner whos a female was telling me a different thing. She said I was covering the rear brake which i understand, but during the training she was telling me that my technique was good. I felt that she should have corrected that in the training so I wouldnt do it in the test. To make things worst When I called their office Monday to explain to them my complains the lady that answer me didnt even want to listen to my explanation all she was telling me is that I need to schedule a retest no matter what.I understand that, I was hoping she will at least said let me talk to the instructors and see what they say. did not even want to listen which made me felt that they just want me to retest to make extra money for the retest fee Because She was also insisting to book right away because theres a lot of failed students were scheduling and I might ran out of reservation . Anyways the MSF class was very educational but I would recommend to take the class somewhere else based on my experience.. Also the motorcycles are bit old and in not great condition . My friend whos with me for the training used a bike that has an oil leak that hits the exhaust so it was smoking, and the one that im using the rear brake was crooked thats one of the reason I kind of cover the rear brake because it was hard to locate with your feet because it was bended.
Fantastic experience: Took the morning course this weekend and had fun. The instructors were friendly and knowledgeable and helped me improve my posture and ridings skills. Also the on line class time was super convenient. Totally worth it.
Fantastic experience: Very helpful and well organized.
Fantastic experience: Really helpful
Negative experience: Scheduled and paid for a class, made arrangements at work to have my shifts covered as I work weekends, then get a call the day of the first class informing me they are canceling the class. I will take the class at HD rather than giving these inconsiderate people another chance
Fantastic experience: Worth the money i'll start by saying you will get more out of the class if you know a bit more them never touched a bike. you will also want to be comfortable Bring your gear make sure it fits, Dress for the Weather. pay attention add notes for all the hints given in class. haven an open mind you will learn a lot "Smile you should be having fun"
Negative experience: I paid for this course and received a confirmation e-mail with a classroom zoom link which requires a password to enter. There was no password provided in the e-mail confirmation and there is no way to contact the training center on a Friday afternoon. I have tried logging in to a zoom account and entering every confirmation/class-ID number in the e-mail and nothing works. This is horribly unprofessional considering the class is 350$ for a weekend.
Fantastic experience: Definitely worth the money and time! Charli, James, and Elliot are extremely friendly and helpful when it comes to the riding section of the course. After the class, you are more than ready to take the written exam. 100% recommend!
Fantastic experience: 100% worth the money! Before the class, I'd never driven manual transmission or rode a motorcycle. By the end of the class, I was able to pass the written and riding test! You learn so much about how to ride, how to assess situations and take preventative safety precautions, it's very informative and eye-opening. Charlie, Elliot, and James (instructor in training) were all very friendly and helpful, and made the class enjoyable and easy to learn new concepts. This class also helped me realize that even though I've learned the basics, I will still need to practice for a while before I should go in any moderate-heavy traffic areas, but it has prepared me with the basics needed to ride safely!
Fantastic experience: I took the motorcycle course with JT & Rick at Palmdale Highschool on December 20th-22nd. They were the best instructors, the class material was detailed. The only bad I can say is the course is small for the amount of people riding. It is CHP regulated but I felt there were too many people on the course and it was difficult for people who are unexperienced. Also the equipment really needs to be updated. Other than that, it was a great course, thank you to the instructors for being patient and willing to help.
Fantastic experience: Let me first off say that if you want to learn how to ride a motorcycle or just want to learn how to be safer on the road then this is the class. I have only 1 year (Dirt bike/Trail riding) of riding under my belt no street riding experience. Charlie is an amazing instructor and she makes the learning experience easier. Charlie helped break the Ice and made every single one of us comfortable to ride and learn how to gain more confidence when riding. I Highly Highly recommended this course for anyone inexperienced or over experienced it never hurts to learn and perfect you muscle memory and technique so you can be better prepared for the Road.
Fantastic experience: Very informative instructors Charlie is one of the best instructors I've ever met Definitely worth the money
Fantastic experience: Charlie and Dave were awesome, they were patient with everyone and gave out great tips and taught the class with A1 service, I will definitely recommend them
Fantastic experience: Just finished the Palmdale course today. Best money ever spent. Very thorough instructions from Charlie and Jerry. Transferring years of riding experience to the beginners. How cool is that!
Fantastic experience: Great instructor.. learned a lot in the classroom and on the training course.
Fantastic experience: Took the beginner class last weekend and it was an outstanding experience! The instructors ( Rick and Jose) were excellent and the training was superb! One week after the course and had to put my training to use... twice this morning I had trucks towing toy haulers pull out directly in front of me while going highway speeds!!!! Great training that you WILL use! Saved me from wrecking my brand new motorcycle today! I highly recommend this course for anyone/ any age! They take you from not knowing anything about motorcycling to riding within a few short hours. Hell it's so well taught my wife is already enrolled for January!
Fantastic experience: Bestest!
Fantastic experience: I went into this program with no riding experience and came out ready to jump on a bike. Charlie and Rick really helped me improve over the two riding sessions and they were eager to give effective coaching. They take out the anxiety of being a new rider and have you doing exercises instinctively in the end. Each rider was able to get the same amount of attention which showed me that they cater to all skill levels and learning curves. Great course, I definitely recommend taking it with Charlie and/or Rick since they make it a very social and relaxed environment.
Fantastic experience: Had to use wife's Google to say Charlie and Ted were the best! Very professional, very informative! Regardless of the heat they maintained to show how truly seriously they take this. I really was educated. Thanks guys. Mike L
Negative experience: They'll cancel you if you don't show up ten minutes early and give away your class with no refund. AVOID.
Fantastic experience: Good course
Negative experience: Instructors are mediocre. You dont learn any safety lessons that toy coulsnt leaen on youtube. Dont waste your money.
Fantastic experience: I've been riding dirt for 25 years. Wanted to get my license and avoid the DMV ride test. This company is great. They have a passion for safe riding and teaching. Go in with an open mind and learn. Whether your brand new or a veteran rider, you'll benefit from this class.
Fantastic experience: Longer than I thought, I can tell you by the end of it all, you will know if you are ready to start on a motorcycle.
Fantastic experience: I have been riding for a long time, not my first rodeo, you will learn something new every time you go. The instructors were informative and pretty dang fun, for the most part, they really knew how to keep the class awake. Ted your cool man!!
Fantastic experience: It's a blast!!!!!! If it's your first time riding, they hold your hand. You practice drills, get a handle on the bike, you just take a test on drills you already did! The written exam they prep you for, so it's all good, money well spent.
Negative experience: I signed up and paid for this course. I received an email with the WRONG address. Tried contacting for 2 months and no return phone call, just a voice mail. Don't throw your money away!
