Fantastic experience: Having your teen start driving is a new and shaky experience. So much going on! It was wonderful to have OCT Driving Academy make the written test and behind the wheel, so easy and stress-free. Matt August not only made me feel comfortable, letting my daughter get behind the wheel, but also kept her comfortable driving behind the wheel. I will always be thankful for the lifetime skills they taught my daughter.

Fantastic experience: I could not have asked for a better experience driving with OCT. For context, I waited until after I finished my first year of college to get started on actually obtaining my license, and gave myself the summer home to complete it. My instructor, Matt August, was the most reliable and flexible I could ever ask for, making sure we met my slightly tight deadline to test. Every lesson was valuable, and also fun with Matt making the drives a time to get comfortable around the wheel and take away and student driver stress I had. I did have take twice to pass the drivers test, but after failing the first time, Matt made sure to schedule me in again and was highly encouraging that I would get it the next time. When I did test again, I passed with only one minor mark. I would highly recommend this program, and Matt specifically, to any student driver. They not only promote practical road safety, but also make you excited to get behind the wheel!

Fantastic experience: My daughter enjoyed this driving school. They have really safe nice cars. My teen learned a lot in the drivers training. The owner Susanne is super nice & was very informative & was a great instructor. And her other instructor Matt August kept things light which made my teen feel comfortable driving. He made sure she was ready for the test & reached out prior for any questions & some extra reminders .. as well as told us what to bring to dmv & even checked out the car she was going to take test in which thankfully he did because there was something we needed to fix on car. She learned more in the 6 hours of driving training than she did with me for months. My teen passed the dmv driving test the first try. OCT Driving Academy cares about their student drivers & I highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: Five stars all around! My daughter was very apprehensive at first about the process. And, with it being so long since I went through it myself and so many changes since that time, I wasn't sure about the steps either. From my first call to OCT, Suzanne was helpful, friendly and patient in explaining the process. The online lesson scheduling is great and they even allowed half of the tuition up front and the other half about mid-way through the process. Once the lessons began, my daughter's anxiety level began to rapidly decrease. The instructors were patient and understanding. My daughter specifically found instructor Matt August to have a very calming and helpful approach and requested him specifically for further lessons. Matt was awesome in not only guiding my daughter but also keeping me up to speed as a curious parent. He also went out of his way to make sure that she was ready for her behind the wheel test and she felt confident. What a champion of an instructor! Highly recommend! Thanks OCT!

Fantastic experience: My 16 year old daughter just passed her drivers test with flying colors!!! She practically had a perfect “DMV” score. I 100% give all the credit to OCT Driving Academy, specifically Matt August her instructor. From the first lesson to the last (according to my daughter), Matt was incredibly professional, made every lesson stress free, and her overall experience first class. Matt actually took her out on the final lesson the day before her test and covered every single thing she was going to be expected to do. Fantastic experience: My son passed his driving exam the first time. His instructor was Matt August. Matt is not only a good instructor, but he cares about students and their parents above and beyond his duty. He often communicated with us over the text about what to practice, concerns and etc. my son had no experience at all at the beginning, and he took him from zero to hundred in just a few sessions. Another thing that I like about this company, and Matt is the fact that the driving session sessions are one hour at the time versus other companies two hours at a time. I think two hours makes it only three sessions and there is not enough time for them to practice with their parents in between. Although they are more expensive than some other companies but I highly recommend them and specifically Matt August for your kids training. Thanks, Mehran

Our instructor, Matt, a retired police officer, really connected with my son and made driver’s education a fun and safe experience. My son went into the driving test fully prepared and confident, and he passed the test easily. Most importantly, my wife and I feel confident that our son is ready for the California roads.

Fantastic experience: Amazing- Matt explained everything very detailed and precise so my daughter could understand and it’s amazing how teenagers will listen to other people rather than their parents. Fantastic experience: O.C.T. Driving Academy is a top-notch company. From my initial contact with Susanne, she was thorough in answering all of my questions and incredibly helpful. O.C.T. offered several date and time options for lessons, which made it easy to coordinate with my son’s busy sports schedule. After my son’s first behind-the-wheel lesson with Matt Paxton, he immediately requested to continue training with him. He felt that Matt explained everything very clearly and concisely, and he was extremely comfortable with his teaching style. Matt was not only attentive and detailed with my son but also very communicative with us after each session. I could tell he was having a positive impact on our new driver—my son often referenced Matt’s guidance while we were practicing together. O.C.T. clearly strives to ensure that their students receive the best instruction possible. Their focus isn’t just on passing the driving test; they emphasize the importance of safe driving and the responsibility that comes with being behind the wheel.

Fantastic experience: I’ve had both of my teenage sons enrolled with OCT. Both of them passed the test on first attempt, one in LH and one in SC. My kids felt very prepared. They were able to tell me what they had learned and regularly put those behaviors into action on practice drives. Matt August completed most courses with my most recent driver. Matt showed patience, guidance and clear instruction, while also being mindful of how my son felt, and gave him confidence. He also gave my son the pep talk he needed moments before he went in for his test, and reminded him of every “what if” and solutions. All instructors were flexible, timely, and engaging with my kids. Overall, our experience with both Matts, and Suzanne for my first driver, have exceeded my expectations.

Fantastic experience: Matt was wonderful with our daughter. As is the case with most parents, having our firstborn learn to drive was super nerve racking! Matt instilled confidence in our daughter while still alerting her to the many dangers of the road. She is now a steady cautious driver. We loved that he has more than a couple decades of experience serving in law enforcement and was thus very familiar with the area and alive to the particular nuances of driving here. Fantastic experience: OCT Driving Academy was wonderful for my oldest learning to drive. We originally chose them because they had good reviews and had more availability than a few of the other driving schools. And they also offer a pick up service for an extra fee, which is so convenient. They’re smaller than some of the other schools so the experience is much more personal. Suzanne, the owner, is great and very responsive. My daughter drove with her for her first two lessons and then Matt A. for the last few. They were both great and prepared her very well. Matt even jumped on a call with us right before the test to give her one last pep talk and reminders, which was absolutely above and beyond. Come test day she only missed one and passed with flying colors. Would definitely recommend OCT to family and friends!

Fantastic experience: I absolutely recommend OCT Driving Academy! My son has really struggled with learning to drive. Having ADHD certainly didn't help. We were both very unhappy with another company we first used. They didn't teach him good, safe habits and rushed him to complete the lessons rather than ensure he had the skills. I hoped that OCT Driving Academy's instructors, who are retired first responders, would understand my son’s deficits. The fact that they teach the state required six hours in one 2-hour segment to cover basic skills and then four 1-hour segments, in itself, is a huge help. My son definitely needed the spacing of lessons to absorb what he learned and to practice it. Susanne, my son’s instructor, was fantastic! She taught my son in a way that he understood, and it helped that she understood the struggles teens with ADHD have. Practice, practice, practice! Her guidance and encouragement were exactly what we both needed, and I’m happy to say that my son passed his road test this week after many months of practice! Thank you, Susanne! I don’t think we would have gotten this far without you!

Matt August went above and beyond in answering questions and being available for a group call to assist Natalia with any last minute questions prior to her driving test. The cars are clean, well-maintained , and the driving routes were varied, giving her a great sense of real-world driving scenarios.

Fantastic experience: When I was informed by the DMV that I had to take a Road Test at the age of 80 due to an old eye problem, I was very disturbed and nervous. I am a competent driver with a clean record but had no idea of what the test would require. Luckily. I called OTC Driving Academy off an internet listing and was fortunate enough to be connected with Suzanne Peterson. I booked a one-hour session with her for a review of road test requirements. The advice and test experience coaching, both on the road and out of the DMV guide that she provided was extremely helpful. Without her help. I most likely would have failed the test. As it turned out, I passed easily!! Suzanne's calm and friendly demeanor with focused commentary help you learn easily without any tension. I recommend her to anyone young or old for effective driving education.

Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough about Susanne! Like many parents, we were terrified to put our twin daughters behind the wheel. This was compounded by the fact that one of our daughters struggles with focus & impulse control due to ADHD. I chose OCT Driving because I preferred the shorter more focused lessons (1 hour instead of 2). Susanne was so calm & patient with them. She made the whole process easy for all of us. In the end, she felt like part of the family. She made sure they were completely prepared to pass their driving test. They BOTH passed on their first try!!

Fantastic experience: Can't recommend this driving school enough. Susanne is amazing and always was able to get my sons drive time lessons even w her busy schedule. She is amazing and so easy to work with! She helped get my older son his license and 2 yrs later he is still a super safe driver. now she is helping me with my youngest son prep for his drive test in July! Can't recommend this driving academy enough they really care about the kids! and making them safe drivers.

Fantastic experience: Our experience with Susanne requires more stars than a Google review has available! My daughter is a high anxiety kid, and from the moment she got behind the wheel for lessons, she was at ease. Susanne is thorough, patient, educational, and creates a fun learning atmosphere for the kids. She goes above and BEYOND to make sure both mom, AND child are at comfortable, and confident. She is flexible with scheduling and works hard to find times that will work. It is clear that she is passionate about her role at this very crucial stage of life. It is obvious she wants to make a difference. Six months with Susanne and she feels like family! Both my daughter and I are grateful for the valuable time spent with Susanne. She has had an impact on our lives.

Negative experience: Highly unprofessional and ill-mannered. Susanne was constantly 10-15 minutes late every single time we had a lesson and made passive aggressive comments during the sessions, such as, "do you even want to pass your driving test?," "you don't listen," or "you're an awkward driver." Additionally, she is an absolute nightmare to schedule with; she also charged us a $100 cancellation fee when her website says it's $50 and we didn't realize we were supposed to pay less until after we already paid. All in all it was a very unpleasant experience; this woman is snarky, overtly hostile and can't differ between constructive criticism and bashing.

Fantastic experience: My daughter had an amazing experience during the 6 months of driving training spent with Suzanne. She felt ready for the exam and comfortable on the road, which was most important for us. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: OCT Driving Academy was not the least expensive option, but it certainly was the BEST option! Our instructor showed up on time and was both friendly and professional. They were very flexible with pick up and drop off locations. During the driving lesson they were patient and very clear with the driving instructions. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Fantastic experience: If I could give these guys more stars I would. Suzanne is awesome, honestly, I cannot say enough good things about her and everyone at OCT. My son was actually sad that he finished his six hours because he had such a good time and learned so much! Patient, knowledgable and very, very good at teaching driving! Fantastic experience: Susanne is absolutely the best! My daughter’s experience could not have been better and all of her friends that were lucky enough to find OCT felt the same. The way she approaches the lessons and required behind the wheel hours is so much better! This is one of the most important decisions we make for our kids in getting them the right start in their lifetime skills behind the wheel. I saw a huge difference having two kids with two different programs. This is absolutely the one to choose.
