Fantastic experience: I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude to you and the entire team at CDS. With both of our children having completed their driver's education through your school, I felt compelled to share a few thoughts about our experience. From start to finish, CDS stands out as one of the most professional organizations I’ve ever worked with. Every detail of the process is clearly laid out, making each step—whether it’s the initial pre-course paperwork, classroom instruction, or behind-the-wheel training—smooth, organized, and stress-free. Your instructors are outstanding. They truly prepare students for success behind the wheel. Both of my kids had wonderful experiences and were especially impressed with James and Marisa. Thank you both for your dedication and guidance! EXCELLENT SCHOOL!!!

Fantastic experience: I went through the CDL B class in March of 2021. I was nervous from the moment I walked through the door. Jordyn was friendly and professional and walked me through the prerequisite requirements to begin class. Our instructor Ken was thorough and informative giving many examples from his experiences. My first time behind the wheel was terrifying, but Ken was patient and encouraging enabling me to pass all requirements to obtain my license. I went on to obtain my hazmat and tanker endorsements as well. Upon obtaining my license, my husband (who has his Class A CDL) and I began team expedite driving in April of 2021. We have traveled all over the U.S. and I have expanded my driving experiences - rush hour traffic in L.A., I-35 through Dallas at night through construction zones, Cross Bronx and George Washington Bridge during rush hour, I-80 through Wyoming with wind and ice, and through Arizona through extreme thunderstorms and wind. We have seen amazing landscapes, stunning sunrises and beautiful sunsets. We have delivered loads from 2 lbs. to 13,000 lbs. I have nothing but high remarks for the training that staff and trainers at Commercial Driving School have provided! If one puts in the effort, studies and listens to their trainers, you will have the tools and proficiency needed to be successful and become a professional commercial truck driver. There is a difference!

Fantastic experience: If you're looking for a good place to go to get your CDL A or CDL B look no further! I took the CDL B course and couldn't be more happy. The small class sizes makes sure that each and every student has enough individual attention/help. From the second you enter the door you are greeted by either Kathy or Jordyn who will answer every question you might have. Not only that but they help make sure you get the information for financial aid to make sure you can afford tuition. It's a bit more expensive than some other places but like the saying goes "you get what you pay for." Our class was fortunate enough to have Lenny, a previous Alumni as an instructor and he made the course easy to understand and fun. I feel privledged to know we were his FIRST class he taught! Lenny has 10+ years of experience in the industry and if he doesnt know the answer to a question he will find out for you. Concord Driving School will help set you up with seeking employers and make sure you have the tools to succeed. When applying to jobs, mentioning CDS has given employers peace of mind that the student is trained correctly. 10/10 would recommend

Fantastic experience: I attended the CDL B course which was instructed by Ken. I can honestly say that this school does not only teach you how to operator a CMV, it will teach you how to be a better driver overall! Ken was very laid back and was a great instructor. His experience in the industry showed and his knowledge and instruction was invaluable with helping me pass the course and state test. Being the only school in the state at this time, I can assure you that they DO NOT mail it in and actually care about seeing their students succeed. I even had a conditional offer of employment with a company that I connected with through the school before I graduated! If you are looking into getting into the trucking industry, you can do no better than this school. Thanks to all the CDS staff in helping me start my second career!

Positive experience: I want to be as objective as possible with this comment. The instructors at this school are most likely good, but what I find ridiculous is the amount of demands this school has for a student to get into. I am sure that if there were other schools of this type in NH, this school would not have so many demands. The first thing is: How is it possible that someone who is going to study has to first take a 100-question exam? In other words, I have to show the school that I don't need the course. They also tell you: In NH there are only 5 certified instructors and we have 4 of them. That is telling you, we have the upper hand, you take it or leave it. Like I said in the beginning, they probably have good instructors, but their requirements are just ridiculous.

Thank you for your review. The FMCSA has a English standard that must be followed. We follow it to the letter. FMCSR Section 391.11(b)(2) says that all drivers must "read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records."
So, now that you know this; If the applicant cannot understand the written directions on paper, or does not know the English language, we can inform them another path to eventually take CDL Training. And, ALL CDL testing done in the USA is ONLY administered in English.
As far as having most of the instructors that are Legally Certified to teach CDL in NH, we are like any other company in the USA looking for qualified, certified instructors. NH's driver education community is very understaffed, and that's not a reflection on a school as "having the upper hand". It is a FACT that the US LABOR FORCE is hurting, especially small businesses since Covid arrived. The last three instructors I have set up for interviews, never showed up! That's what companies like mine are dealing with.
So, if you do not like Federal Rules, I HIGHLY SUGGEST you do not get into this industry.

Fantastic experience: I started this class with zero prior experience. It felt kind of like a trucking boot camp in the beginning haha. A lot of information to take in the first couple of weeks. I love that there were 3 instructors. Each had their own teaching style which helped to make sure the class understood the course. Ray, Roy and Ken are great. Unfortunately, I didn't pass the yard skills test the first couple of times but the owners (Kathy and Jim) were kind enough to make time for me to practice before I retested. I got my Class A license today and am so excited to move forward with my career. The ladies in the office are fantastic also! The ONLY thing I didn't like is I wish I got to spend less time in class and more time driving the truck. I believe that's something that is going to happen with future classes though.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience at CDS. Going into this I was super nervous but Ken (CDL-B Instructor) made me feel very comfortable while testing and driving. Ken was very informative, he always answered any questions or concerns I had. By the time I had to test with the trooper I knew everything about the truck I was using to test with. The school really goes above and beyond to make sure you’re ready to pass your skills test. All you have to do is pay attention, study, and listen to what the instructors are telling you. I did have the chance to get to know Lenny who is a new instructor in training. He was really nice and easy to chat with. My first drive I had was with Lenny and he knew I was super nervous but made the experience less intimidating. I also want to add the ladies in the office were always really nice. Jordyn was thorough and went over everything with me before I started class. Kathy was always on top of getting right back to me anytime I sent them emails with questions. I highly recommend CDS.

Fantastic experience: I had attended commercial driving school and recently completed my course with them, in my experience I can say this is the Harvard University of tractor trailer schools, the commercial driving school is made up of family and a team of professional drivers and instructors that in my experience are the best in what they do, both Ray and Roy were my personal classroom and driving instructors aswell as coaches, they shared and taught me a life time of knowledge and skill that they had acquired through 30+ years of experience on the road themselves, they made learning aswell as classroom time fun and enjoyable, what I appreciated going into commercial driving school is small classrooms with a maximum of ten students per class giving each student more student instructor time making it easier to learn skillsets aswell as knowledge of the road, I appreciated that they also go above and beyond and teach you more than just the regular requirements to obtain a cdl endorsement such as how to couple and uncouple tractors from trailers, Through my experience and time with commercial driving school I did not only learn a skill that will allow me to make a living doing what I enjoy doing most, driving, I took memories with me that will last a lifetime, made friendships that will last a lifetime, aswell found employment with a very reputable company through them that allows me to make more money than I have ever earned for myself in my lifetime, in my experience they are the best of the best at what they do,

Positive experience: Number one reason I choose this school is the student ratio to instructor ratio. The maximum number of students, in the CDL A class, is 10 students. This is crucial as it gives you more time to practice the yard maneuvers as well as on road driving. You should really consider this when making your choice of schools. The tuition maybe more expensive as the old saying you get what you pay for. No hidden cost as some schools do. Great group of guys I was the only female in the class but my fellow classmates were very kind, respectful and supportive. I struggled with some maneuvers but the instructors went out of their way to guide me through them and got me where I need to be... Thank you Ray & Roy. The school owners want to see you succeed but it is YOUR responsibility to study (some people don't need to study) practice and show up to class prepared. Another reason I choose this school was the recruiter, Jordyn. She was courteous, kind and answered all of my questions when I began my inquiries about the school. Jordyn was as always available to guide me through the process. When I contacted another school in MA. they wouldn't answer any of my questions I had about the curriculum, how many instructors to student ratio, ect. They wanted me to drive down to Andover to meet with a recruiter. This was during the middle of Covid. I asked to do the speak with the recruiter over zoom. The answer was no you must come in. Thank you Jordyn, Marissa, Kathy and Jim

Negative experience: If you want to get your CDL and be a skilled driver this is *not* the place to go *anymore*. However skilled and knowledgeable the moody instructors are, it does not outweigh the shortcomings. The owners literally lied in order to have me removed "per DOT law"...I am beside myself and consumed by the motivating factor. Really, when you see a dedicated and determined student, you ice him? Real poor integrity.

Fantastic experience: My son did drivers ed through this company and they were truly amazing. He had a horrible experience with a previous company with horrible treatment by the teacher, so this was a huge difference. The teacher communicated with me very well, and my son. They did what they could to keep him on track, which is appreciated because he has a processing disorder so this can be difficult for him. I highly suggest this company to anyone looking for a good drivers education school.

Fantastic experience: Very pleased and wanted to share my recent experience with CDS of NH. From the very first day when enrolling and all the way through graduation the entire staff went above and beyond any of my expectations. The instruction given by Roy, Ray and Ken was not only top notch but I felt that they were genuine in their effort to help me not just pass my CDL test but also to safely operate a CMV for years to come. I highly recommend this school to anyone interested in attaining their CDL.

Fantastic experience: Back in May of 2018 I was laid off from my job. My choice was either bounce around at various non-cdl jobs or take my career to the next step and get my CDL-A. Getting my CDL was the best career move I will ever take. The Amico's, and the friendly instructors (Roy, Ray, and Bobbie) helped me become a safe driver in NO TIME. I had previous experience with tractor trailers as a yard jockey, but had no experience driving on public roadways. I took what I knew and they elevated it to the nth degree. The attitude the instructors carried was calm, clear, and collected, and they translated their knowledge to our class in the safest/most efficient way possible. I will forever recommend this course to anybody who is interested in getting behind the wheel. The only stress I took from this course is which job offer do I take first?! Thank you all for helping me through this. I am forever grateful. You will be too.

Fantastic experience: I went through a class because I GOT A TICKET for speeding. Let me tell you I was really upset that on MY day off I had to go take this course that I HAD GO PAY FOR. It’s a few hours long it was a weekend and I work all the time. I was really mad....That being said this was MY fault no one else’s. The Amico’s are a fantastic family team who made this educational corse to be interesting as well as valuable to my time while teaching me things I didn’t even know about. The price I paid , the time I spent and the knowledge I gained and the license I didn’t lose...was well worth my Saturday. I would highly recommend the Amico’s and their company to anyone needing a CDL, a corse to knock some points off their license or any other services and classes they have available! A lot of these reviews may be biased because they don’t want to be held accountable for their mistakes on the road and pin it on CDS LLC. Don’t let poor reviews deter you from a good company because people who don’t/refuse to take ownership for their actions need-not apply!

Tom Pulyak 8 years ago

Fantastic experience: I chose CDS because of the reviews, location, and program. Although I know a lot about trucks and could drive, hey helped me get my cdl the right way. Its the little things in this industry that will burn you, not the big picture. The instructors have years of experience with invaluable knowledge that you can't get from just renting a truck, trying to pass your cdl course the first time, and jumping into a driving job. To those who are interested: please know that the school takes work..don't expect it to be easy. There's a lot of studying to constantly do throughout your 6+ weeks..so much so that you may not be able to work another job. You also have to be able to take criticism with your driving from instructors...they aren't being mean, they're trying to teach you the proper manner in which to drive. I do have some small criticisms, but overall its helped me get my cdl a... and learn to do things the right way. I can tell you from experience now... you'll be able to find a good job that's a blast to do (drive) every day..and get paid very well for it.

Fantastic experience: I went here on a unemployment scholarship. I was told right from the word go what to expect of the industry. When I graduated in May of 2015 I left the school feeling very confident in my knowledge and skills to be a competitive employee in this very demanding field. I now have been driving for almost 2 years and recommend to anyone who asks to check out this school. Thank you so much Jim, Kathy, and Jordan. Also a special shout out to both my instructors they were amazing.

Fantastic experience: Passed my Class A test a week ago. For anyone going for their commercial license you couldn't choose a better school. The course is very well structured and by the time you take your test you're fully prepared. The teachers Jim & Roy do a great job, they are ex drivers who have a lifetime of experience to impart. The course is laid back but they really get you to where you need to be. Thanks guys, really enjoyed the experience.

Fantastic experience: I attended this school as a brand new student to the CDL community. I found the challenge of a career change was fearing if I could receive proper & enough training to be successful with such. I did a lot of research to find a school that could help me execute this new direction. Important was finding a safety conscience/focused curriculum, low student-to-teacher ratio, compatibility to the staff and support system as needed. I made an appointment with the school and found educators that are committed to safety overall, instilling State of New Hampshire laws, interstate jurisdictional differences/ responsibilities and Department of Transportation regulations. We had instructors with many years of experience able to apply real world events not found in any book. We were very fortunate to have had a retired law enforcement sergeant (Dave) part of our driving instruction. Kathy and Jordyn were very instrumental in defining the school and my choice -- answering the question will one be able to acquire the necessary skills to be successful in a new career. August 14, 2016 was our last day, the testing by the NH State Troopers. We had a great class very appreciative at the wealth of training provided to us. Many classmates acquired team-building-skills as well as improvement to regular driving skills - above expectation! ((Yes, I do drive seat-belted with both hands on the wheel now in my personal vehicle!!!)) My advice is one cannot learn CDL skills alone by having uncle so and so teach - you need the classroom education, the experience and feedback to take you to the next level. Regarding prior negative feedback; pity-partying, griping about self-failures and lashing out when really simply looking in the mirror and self-evaluation is sometimes all that is needed. A few folks may need extra hours and that's okay don't beat yourself up. (I wish I had a few more hours!!! Time goes by quick!) Take advantage of all of available tools, communicate with admissions and staff -- ask questions, take notes and study, study, study! You will do great. My only critique is of the industry as a whole for not having enough schools for such a high demand of drivers. Safety is so important. I thank Jim Amico, the owner of CDS school of NH for facilitation of one here in NH. To the men & women and veterans joining this industry -- this is a great school with a strong five (5) star rating -- worth investing your time -- for your future and for safety sake. In closing, we were very fortunate to have had such an incredible instructor. Roy's great sense of humor, honest feedback, attention to integrity in the industry and in life, taught us more than just the curriculum -- we are all much better than we started...

Positive experience: A great base of classroom knowledge and hands skills to start my commercial driving career.

Matthew kling 9 years ago

Negative experience: I will start by saying I went for the 6 week class for my CDL-A. One of the prerequisites was that you had to have your cdl permit before the class started, although 2 people out of 8 in the class didnt. We used a large book called JJ Keller for school. The first few days we went over all the chapters in the NH cdl book including the school bus section which was a total waste of time. We used that book to study for the permit so it was pointless to go over it again. Also one kid in our class failed to get his permit until the last week of class. He failed 3 or 4 times. So since he no road experience he took forever on his skills practice ,which took away time from everyone who actually could drive on the road. Point is he wasn't taking the test with us with the trooper since he didn't have his permit for the first 5 weeks and still had to do 12- 2 hour drives still. Another big thing that bothered all of us is we had 2 hour blocks of everything including yard manuevers etc. Sometimes we had double blocks. Well the instructors would always show up 10 or 15 mins late before and after every break including lunch from their "smoke" break. Then they would have to set up the cones still and demo the manuever. Over the course of the 6 weeks I would say we lost 10 hours of yard time of practice because of this. I ended up paying after class was over 150.00 an hour on top of the 5500.00 Paid already to practice manuevers more because class ended and the test was postponed 2 weeks due to weather. Also one of the instructors, especially on the first few rides, was non stop texting on his cell phone. It was bad enough I was trying to learn how to shift and he's telling me his life story. In class the main instructor also would stop and tell stories about his personal life, His ex wife and child support etc. Lots of profanity which we were told was grounds for dismissal, but he did lots of it. The instructors were not professional and one would lose his temper alot on drives. I heard this from multiple people in the class So im writing this for them too. If you missed a gear he would yell and say "get it in gear "! With alot more color if u know what I mean. I understand were not children but yelling at us won't help us . If we knew how to do it we would not mess up, and yelling only makes it worse. I really don't think they have the right temperament for the job, nor are they teacher material. One even told us about his multiple accidents, and rolling on the highway in his doubles trying to speed by someone in a snowstorm. Not very comforting coming from our "instructor" who talks about "following distance". We wasted alot of time telling "stories" in class. Time that could have been spent practicing manuevers. I saved 3 years 5500.00 cash, on top of normal bills to pay for this class, and I feel it was not the experience I deserved. I had to quit my job and live on savings to do this 8-5 class. It was all a thought out plan. I finished with a GPA of 90, which was top 3, so im not saying any of this because i failed. Everyone in class was awesome. We all become good friends and helped each other more then the instructors by the end. CONS: WASTED TIME!! I can't stress this enough. Between story time and smoke breaks 1/3 of my 5500.00 went down the toilet. Practice time was nowhere near adequate. On the final day before our trooper test we got 2 hours to split between 7 of us. I got to practice 3 manuevers 1 time. TEXTING TEXTING TEXTING...this is something that annoyed alot of people including my friend who took this class the class before mine this summer. Wether it was in class or driving . They would sit there and text or fall asleep in the chair while the other was teaching. I want to add that I DID NOT FAIL MY ROAD TEST AS THE SCHOOL RESPONDED. It was rescheduled due to snow on test day. Funny how after I posted this multiple people gave 5 star reviews when they had 0 reviews . They aren't taking responsibility for instructors that may be good drivers but not instructors. Keep a closer eye on day to day instruction.

Matt, I'm so sorry you feel that your time was wasted here. I'm also disappointed that you chose not to mention any of your allegations to us during your 6 weeks of training. In fact, you told us how much you enjoyed the class and that you appreciated everything you were learning. I realize it can be difficult for some students take ownership of their actions when they fail their road test, and may want to lash out. This is true at every school everywhere. All of us here at CDS wish you luck in your new career. KA
