Fantastic experience: We had a great experience with Charlotte Area Driving school. The classes were on zoom and had detailed lessons. My son passed the practice test after taking Don’s online classes. The eye exam was done on site at the office, before starting class. They came to our house to pick my teen to drive- Franco and Tameka were great with feedback. My teen felt comfortable driving with them. Mike was great to communicate with.

Fantastic experience: This was my first time ever driving a car, and I already had such a great experience! The driving school did an amazing job. My instructor, Frank, was so good — extremely polite, patient, and excellent at teaching. Thanks to him, I never felt nervous or like it was truly my first time behind the wheel. It felt so natural because of how well he guided me. Also, the pick-up and drop-off service was right on time, super convenient and well-organized. Overall, I highly recommend this driving school, especially if you’re learning to drive for the first time!

Fantastic experience: AMAZING! Michael Helms is so personal and helpful! The class was great & the 6 hours of driving was so helpful. The driver (who was fabulous) picked up from our home and scheduling was easy. We did the eye exam at their office which is so much easier than going to the DMV. Overall TEN out of TEN!!!

Fantastic experience: This was the last of our 4 kids but the first time we used this company. I wish we had used them for all 4! It was by far the most efficient, streamlined process. The communication was fast & thorough. Provided thorough information quickly & answered questions happily. The online classes & the driving being picked up from our home made it even more stress free. Truly a dream compared to literal nightmares with 2 previous companies. I would recommend to everyone!

Fantastic experience: We had such a great experience with the Charlotte Area Driving School. We were able to get in the class we wanted when we wanted, and Michael was very accommodating when we had to switch from our initial weekend (luckily there were still spots available). We were able to easily schedule the driving hours so my son is ready to go for his Level 1 permit 2 months in advance of his 15th birthday! Michael was SO helpful at helping us navigate the process, when to do what. It was so complicated at first, but he patiently explained the process to me (multiple times...) around scheduling the classes, eye appointments options, driving hours and ultimately in the DMV appt. You have to be on your A game and plan early to get these appointments since they fill up months out! This experience was worth every penny and I'll do it again in a couple of years when the next kid is up for his license.

From the online teaching schedule to the in car driving instructors, everything went off like clockwork. Mike guided us through the process efficiently and professionally! Definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: Both of my children attended Charlotte Area Driving for their permit and license needs. The online course was easy to access, just check your junk folder for instructions as I had to call because I did not see the course instructions in my email. The teachers that they drove with were very patient and helped them both gain confidence in driving, especially on the highway!

Fantastic experience: We signed up our twin boys for the online class and the driving instruction , and we are very pleased with our experience. I received immediate text responses to my questions and all the needed forms and explanations. Our boys learned a lot in the class…it was basically reviewing lots of questions and walking the kids thru the answers. They both would tell us lots of facts they had learned. It was also a relaxed environment and they felt like the instructor did want everyone to learn the material to pass their exams. The driving hours were promptly scheduled since we were very flexible with open times during the week. They had a lady and a man giving the two in-car driving sessions. Both were on time and gave them a variety of experiences and we not stressed out, but very relaxed. It really is only the initial few hours to get them started, since they really have 60 more hours to fulfill with the parents, but I think it did give them the confidence and the cars used have brakes on the passenger side so they have they extra help to prevent accidents in those first hours on the road. Overall very pleased and I would recommend. Both boys passed their permit exam on the first try, with one of them getting 100%. The whole process is somewhat complicated, but that is a dmv issue. The school is doing a good job trying to get all these kids ready.

Negative experience: Mike is not a good business person, plain and simple is not the people that work for him , it’s him , plus his cars are horrible and they could actually get you killed easily, Mike don’t care aside from being a poor business man , he’s even less of a man

Fantastic experience: I'm so grateful to Mike and his Charlotte Area Driving School team. They are experienced, helpful, and expert instructors. I was a little nervous initially, but I wasn't scared anymore after driving with Frank. He is excellent. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and most importantly, I passed the road test and got my license. I must say that this is the best Driving School in Charlotte. Pricing is reasonable, and the value for money is excellent.

Fantastic experience: Im thankful to the two Young ladies I've had the pleasure of helping me to learn to drive. They have been a God sent especially Ms Danyelle from day one when i told her about my last experience in trying to learn how to drive. She worked with me anyway n still is . Ms Erica another teacher with whom i took what she told me to do on my next lesson and it worked im thankful for being able to learn how to drive from both these young ladies. Fantastic experience: It is an amazing driving school, they are very flexible and followed all the Covid Protocols. I was driving with Franko he is an amazing teacher. I was driving within 2 sessions on Highway. His explanations were very clear and increased by confidence from day 1, he is also a great communicator we spoke on various topics. Mike is a busy guy but he responds to each and every call and voicemails. I got my license without any fear of failing. Thanks Franko and Mike.

Fantastic experience: I had a bad experience with another driving company so I transitioned to this one. Mike is very easy to communicate with! Also, he’s very quick and helpful in regards to his responses. I had Danielle as my driving instructor and she is the absolute BEST!! She made me really comfortable and I had a great experience.

Fantastic experience: Mike Helms, owner, provided a quick return call with information on schedule, pricing and a request for a female instructor (this was a deal breaker since she was the only student in the car) for behind the wheel driving for my daughter. During that call, I scheduled behind the wheel instruction to occur the following week and confirmed payment method to be made at time of first of two 3 hour instruction sessions. I called the day before scheduled instruction to confirm. Ms. Erica, instructor, arrived at my house as scheduled for drive way pick-up and return of my daughter. Sessions were informative and as outlined. Ms. Erica gave my daughter confidence, a since of calmness and was very professional. I would recommend!

Negative experience: As a nervous driver it DOES NOT HELP when the instructor is also nervous and yelling at you. It was a absolute waste of my money and I did not learn a thing. I should’ve read the reviews before coming here.

Fantastic experience: Had the best driving instructor her name is Ashley!!! She was the best driving teacher I ever had honestly she was patient with me and she always was correcting me on any wrong thing I did I’m so proud to say I received my license!!!!!!

Negative experience: . This school just want your money and they don’t care about their jobs. The lady teach my cousin she always on the phone. When my cousin took 12 hours for studies and my cousin wanna go to test driving, they said my cousin needs more practice because my cousin studied not on their program and my cousin have to learn again. Your guy should read comments before choose this school.

Negative experience: I will never ever recommend my enemy what they are after is your money after emptying my account they still want me to continue I have to quit to a better place where I got my license after two days of training

Fantastic experience: My name is John Rodriguez and my experience with the school was nothing more then amazing. All the instructors was awesome and made getting my license purely easy and simple. The fact that they worked close with me on my time and schedule made this the go to organization. They made me feel comfortable and confident behind the wheel at all times and are guaranteed to succeed in helping you get your license as long as you are serious enough to get it and listen to their professional advice.

Negative experience: Do they do weekends ?

Negative experience: Had a horrible experience. Few months ago was promised the same car and same instructor. I was switched twice with instructors i didnt feel comfortable. They were suppose to.take me for my license and had a attirude aboit it. I gor my husband involved he called mike and woulsnt tell him where they were located. What a sketchy place.

Negative experience: I should have read the reviews here, before going to that driving school. Don't even know where to start. The instructor was on her phone the whole time while driving with me. She seems like a nice girl, but she just doesn't care for her job. Very few instructions were given, lessons were not planned. When I expressed my concerns to Mike ( the owner) he literally disregarded them, didn't even comment on them at all, and in spite of the fact that I asked him TWICE to give me another instructor, kept sending the same instructor ( Ashley) to drive with me. So rude! On top of that : twice the instructor wouldn't show up for the lesson, even though I had a lesson scheduled, also a few times they would fill up a tank during the time of the lesson. My advice don't waste your money with that school. Surely there are other more professional driving schools, where they love their job and their clients.

Negative experience: If I have a option I will go for a negative marking...... total process of this driving school is a mess and so as the instructors Mike and Ashley as a instructors are mess and bad person specialy Mike..... he is rude and treated people so badly like in my case he always felt I need more classes for his own good and for taking more money from me..... I highly recommended people not to go with this driving school these people are real cheaters...... very bad experienced

Negative experience: As a nervous driver I was hoping that driving here would be beneficial for me, I was wrong. My very first lesson was a mess. The instructor did not really know how to give driving instructions and would give a go-ahead to drive through intersections when it was not safe. You never meet the main guy in charge, you just talk to him over the phone which is very shady and he is not very nice. I would suggest trying EZ driving school over this because it is a lot more professional and you are guaranteed a decent instructor.

Negative experience: The teacher was great but the business itself is very sketchy. For the prices and minimum time periods listed for the classes are very misleading. It said $45 for an hour class but was told by the teacher and the owner that the minimum requirement is actually for a 1.5 hour class for $67.70... My teacher called the owner to explain that a lot of the students were very confused about what was listed on the website, but he didn't seem to care for acknowledging such an hour...
