Fantastic experience: I wish I could give 1000 stars. My heart breaks at the school is closing down. I went to the school because Meghan was so helpful with all my questions and getting me enrolled. I passed my exam because I had such amazing instructors. I really hope that Tristan, Shannen, Robin, Scott, and Carl will continue to teach. The future truckers of the PNW NEED them. Thank you Toro Trucking Academy!

Fantastic experience: I strongly recommend Toro trucking Academy , they offer a high quality training and education that you need to be a well trained and professional driver ,so you can perform your duties responsible and safe. I want to thank Tristan for being a excellent instructor, Scott for being an excellent driver instructor ,Robyn for awesome trainer teaching Pre trip and In-cab , Shannon fantastic driver trainer , Heather ,Karl awesome instructor very helpful with backing and pre trip and Megan from the office excellent customer service and kind , I want to thank you all for the hard work to be there on the heat , under the rain, and with the freezing weather always ready to train you .... thank you!

Fantastic experience: Excellent study environment, the instructors are great, they make you feel comfortable all the time, I had a language barrier but it was never a problem, they made an effort to help me learn and that gave me a lot of confidence, I would definitely recommend this school They are very professional and have a good study system. thank you very much to all. Fantastic experience: Toro Trucking Academy is an all around excellent truck driving school. Whether you have never sat in a tractor-trailer before and are looking to get your commercial driver license, or you already have your CDL and are looking to add an endorsement, Toro is the school for you. Regardless of your level of previous truck driving experience, the instructors at Toro will instill in you the practices and skills necessary for becoming a SAFE and SUCESSFUL truck driver. Even if you struggle at first with backing or driving, the instructors at Toro will never give up on you. If you need extra instructional time in order to feel safe and confident behind the wheel, Toro will provide further training at no additional cost. This is because the instructors at Toro sincerely want you to succeed--they want you to become the best truck driver you can be. So even if you are considering another truck driving school, you owe it to yourself to really take a look at Toro.

Fantastic experience: Toro Portland is fantastic. The skills I learned made me a better driver in my own personal car. They gave me the confidence to pass my test, one and done. I can't recommend Tristan high enough. His passion for the trucking industry is infectious. He is the best instructor I have seen anywhere. Megan is a office wizard and will bend over backwards to help you through the process. Robin is the pre trip queen and backing expert. Carls backing skills are unmatched and helped me the most. Heather is my favorite drive instructor. Scott has a weath of knowledge and a story for everything lol. The instructors are all very experienced, patient, funny and wont give up on you. Everybody here wants you to succeed. I would recommend Toro Portland over anybody.

Fantastic experience: After seeing positive reviews here for TTA (Portland) I decided to sign up. The first week (In class) was lead by Tristan, he is very good at what he does! Not only will you learn, but you will have fun doing so. You can tell that he is prioritizing safety more than just a passing score. They are really training you to become a safer & better truck driver, with respect for ALL users of the road. Week 2 and on: you’re taking that general knowledge and putting it to practical use! Shout outs to: Tristan; for pushing me to become a better truck driver & for always having a great attitude. Richard; for blessing us with his infinite wisdom & humor. Carl; for explaining the subtle nuances of backing maneuvers & being an all around solid guy. Heather; for being the most awesome driving instructor/mentor that a student could ask for! I found her teaching style to be the best for me. Scott; for his old school trucker soul. Robin; for her help with the pre-trips & air break checks. Megan; the unsung hero who handles all the office work side of this great trucking academy! Highly recommend this school if you’re looking to get into the trucking industry! P.S. utilize the ‘Smith System’ it will make you a better/safer driver! & helped me pass my test.

Fantastic experience: I want to start out by saying if your looking into going to truck driving school don't look any farther, THIS is your place!!!! Have to give a huge shout out to Megan she is great with any questions you have and communicating with you. Tristan is awesome! Can't forget all the fun drives with Richard & how funny he is. Also a HUGE shout out to Heather, SHE was great on the drives, helped out a ton with backing and if you just had any questions at all she was there to help!!!! They were a great team to work with and made the experience so much better! Thank you again!

Fantastic experience: This is a great place to learn or elevate your CDL driving abilities. The staff are incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. I enjoyed the process of learning how to double shift as well as how to be a safe CDL Driver. Richard, Tristan, Robyn, Megan and even Carl (the part-time guy) made it a fun and smooth process. With their excellent teaching abilities, I was able to successfully complete and pass my Washington Pre-Trip, Backing, and Drive. Even the driving tester with Washington was fantastic and professional. I highly recommend this school if you are looking to obtain a CDL. Not to mention they have companies come and recruit which is great if you are searching for jobs to use your newly acquired skills. Thanks for the fun Toro. Fantastic experience: I want to start of by giving thanks to Richard for being Charismatic. He's a great human being to learn from. Boy can he Crack a joke two. thank you Tristan for breaking everything down with simplicity. This guy is all energy. The way he teaches, calm and collectively is something not many people can do. Shout out Shannon, she is a strict and sometimes a physical creature. But it's her way of being a tough teacher. She is someone you don't start Appreciating till after the fact. Thank you Megan for helping with paper work and financing portion of this journey. I would highly recommend Toro academy. I miss you Gang!

Fantastic experience: If it wasn't for this school I never would have gotten my CDL! I had more fun here and learned more from Toro Trucking Academy. Then I did from college!!!!!The driving instructors are patient and kind with a great sense of humor to make you feel at ease. Which once you're behind the wheel is a tremendous help! There where good times and good learning! I cannot say enough good things about this place like a second home!!!! I searched a lot of trucking schools before picking this one and I'm damn glad I did! I'm just sad that it's over!!!! Have a great one.!!!! Toro!!!!!

They are an amazing set of ppl with a wealth of knowledge to get you on the right path to obtaining and keeping your CDL. Drives were fun and very much informative. Would definitely recommend anyone thinking of getting their CDL to give them a call !!!

Fantastic experience: Toro was an awesome school to attend for CDL training. And a memorable one at that. They give you the tools to learn the basic knowledge for obtaining your CDL. No question is a stupid question to ask. Everyone was so helpful and great to be around. Tristin was amazing with his Tristan isms. I have recommended Toro of Troutdale to a couple friends. 10/10 will go back to get my auto lifted off my license later down the road.

Fantastic experience: This school is awesome, all people work her is awesome and nice people when you be there it's like big family, they teach you everything you need to know, they always have answers for your questions, all the trainers and the manager are super nice and cool. If you go there by yourself not with company training program they will find you company to work with it they have contact with other trucking companies and they came to this school offering jobs. This school is super good. I would like to thank all people work her. Note: if people says this school bad or not teaching good, that is not right from my experience, they told you everything and if you didn't know something you ask they will help and show you, but like every school not only cdl schools any school or college or university, if you don't study like the per trip or don't lisn to trainers it's your fault not them. You need to study and practice and follow the trainers what told you.

Fantastic experience: Big part about getting your CDL is you get what you put into it. It did take me 3 try’s but this school did help me get my CDL from no prior experience of driving a manual. The people there where nice and very knowledgeable. Would recommend this place to anyone who is seriously interested in getting their CDL.

Negative experience: I would not recommend this school at all.. This school is a terrible place, the instructors spend most of their time on the phone not helping students. The instructors are very inappropriate towards women and even make bets as to who is going to fail their test rather than take the time to help them pass.

Fantastic experience: The instructors and leadership have an incredible amount of experience and are ready to share every shred of it. Remember: you’ll get out of it what you put into it. You can’t buy your CDL: but every one of these terrific professionals will give you all the tools: learn to use them and you’ll do well. Of all the schools in the area, this one is the winner!

Positive experience: The biggest value to this trucking school is Paul. Brea. Richard These 2 instructors Watch every movie you make and help you Correct it before it becomes a bad habit. Like others they are not on thier phones, eating keeping chairs warm or whatever else to distract themselfs from making drivers out of us.. The Swift team and Mechanics kinda let us down with how long it took to fix a truck or get some grease or oil to fix a landing gear or steering. It left some of us just standing around. I came in with knowledge already of airbreaks an and having a class B. But still had to put in my best to get the best.. When I took my test I felled it the 1st time.(that 90°back kicked my az$) Did another week, Richard stepped in and had me break it down into less degrees You three people made it so worth the rain,cold winds, and struggles. Once there are more trucks and a few "team members " seeing this as more then just a check. This place will become even more amazing! Definitely would suggest this school if already with some driving back ground. Give 100% and remember the 3 above instructors and you WILL be a truck driver!!!

Fantastic experience: I work in close quarters to this school and talk with their students often, they always have great things to say about the instructors, and having talked to them myself onany occasions I can say they are a very laid back bunch! Anyone in the area needing to look into a school, should definitely check this one out first!

Fantastic experience: Took the 4 week course and was able to pass my Class A CDL test. Ended up coming back for one more week to get my passenger endorsement. They help with job placement if your interested as well.

Fantastic experience: The 4 week training is life changing, getting my cdl has opened the door to so many opportunities !! It is the shortage of almost 200,000 drivers in the United States that is fueling the BIG paychecks and benefit packages we as drivers are being offered. I personally know drivers that have went to Pacific Northwest Professional Driving School in Troutdale and went to work after graduating and we're making $70,000 the first year being a truck driver. I highly recommend that you give Pacific Northwest Professional Driving School the opportunity to change your life it has mine!!!

Positive experience: Excellent instructors, Duane, Steve and Vlad are a wealth of knowledge, their patience and commitment to every students success are the rock of the Tacoma campus. Going from Food Service to driving a truck is a huge transition I that they realized was difficult for me, however as they shared instructions and gave advice I passed my test on first go around.
