My 3 older children took driver’s ed elsewhere and driving with them for their required 50 practice hours was sometimes more stressful than I liked. Whatever Jungle does different has made driving with my youngest a pleasure. He’s confident and safe on the road. I wish I had sent all of my children to Jungle for their driver’s education. I see in the reviews that some people complain about getting the drive time in, but as long as you schedule right away, it’s not that difficult. Even though we came from 30 min away to attend Jungle, we easily got in all our drives within the 3 week class. I highly recommend Jungle for anyone looking for a driver’s school.

Positive experience: Our oldest was learning to drive, so we signed her up at Jungle in Ada. They really did a nice job teaching her, and I had a chance to do a ride-along with them to see how they teach and how my daughter was doing. The only thing they need to improve on is answering questions. It’s damn near impossible to get hold of someone or to have them return an email answering your question.

You could not place your student driver in more capable hands. The entire staff is great, but Fred Westgate in particular is a wonderful teacher (and an amazing human being to boot : ) He is incredibly kind and patient, extremely knowledgeable, and goes above and beyond to make sure every driver is completely prepared. All three of my children drive The Jungle Way, and are better, safer drivers as a result. Jungle has my unqualified recommendation.

Fantastic experience: Jungle Survival Drivers Training is the best! After failing my road test twice a few years ago, my driving instructor Fred kept in contact with me. He told me that he would be happy and willing to go out with me, and help me practice, if and when I got my permit again. I got my permit 1.5 months ago, and went out with Fred more than 4 times afterwards. We practiced all of the essential parts that I would need to know for my road test. From driving on the highway, to parallel parking, and even getting practice in neighborhoods, and side streets, all of the practice and advice from Fred definitely helped. Fred even spent time with me the day before my test to make sure that I was super confident and ready for the parallel parking and back ups into the garage. Thanks to Fred and Jungle, I took my road test this afternoon and I passed! I will definitely drive the Jungle way from now on!!!

Negative experience: Getting driving and observations scheduled and completed during the session is a nightmare. The woman who runs the program is very rude to her paying customers, and is not helpful. This is not a fluke as I’m experiencing this with my second child. I’m regretful I had to return, but options are limited and we had to.

Negative experience: Disappointing, unprofessional and lacked in solid education. I wouldn’t choose this school again. We had little exposure to driving school so we chose this one after a little research. I was surprised how very little my son learned about the rules of the road so he could pass his test. The staff were incredibly rude and at least one of the instructors shared inappropriate personal stories. There’s very little preparation for test taking. I wish he could start again with a more refined school that prepares kids for the real experience of driving.

Negative experience: The teacher of my sons session spent more time talking about being single and conspiracy theories that how to drive. I ended up teaching my son the basics.

Negative experience: I'm going to make this short and not so sweet. If you want to pay this company a large sum of money so YOU can teach your child to drive by all means sign up. If on the other hand, you want to pay to have a TEACHER - with the use of a proper drivers training car teach your child, go elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: The interior of the building has a nice atmosphere, and I quite like the wrap on their cars. Aside from that, it's just an ordinary driving school. Nothing special. (3 Stars) Update: I've come to appreciate their teachings a lot more since I got a delivery job that often takes me to the east side of the state. It's a different world over there. Truly a jungle.

Negative experience: My student went through segment 1, which was a 3-week course. My student said the instructors were nice, but also had several complaints. As a parent, I observed some issues. This company had several logistical problems and is not outfitted to run at this capacity. I will go into detail about 4 items that come to mind. 1. They do not provide the book/worksheets required for the class. You have to go on their website and print a 42-page packet. This was exasperated because it was not specified ahead of time and my student came home after the first class and told me that we had to print this book before class the next day. 2. Drive times… There is a lot wrong here. They cannot support the number of students that they take on. The students are required to perform 6 drives and 4 observations with an instructor during the 3 weeks. Parents were told in the orientation, before the class even began, that there are not enough drive times available for everyone so you need to sign up right away at the beginning of each week, because the slots will fill up and not everyone will be able to drive and observe. I was baffled at this statement. And this indeed happened. During the last week of class there were no drive times available. My student had to finish the drives after the class ended when spots became available. The first week after the class was over, the only available times were 1pm-2pm. This was ridiculous. My student is in school and absolutely will not be skipping school to drive. They do not have the resources to support the number of students they take on. Every student should be able to perform the required drives. Instead, parents must race to claim drive time slots, and some people lose and don’t get any. On that note, they were asking parents if anyone wanted to be an instructor during the orientation. Then, during week 3, they went around to every student in the class and asked if they knew anyone who would be interested in being an instructor on 3 different days. My student thought it was bizarre. 3. Even thought the students must fill out worksheets and take written exams in class, they do not have desks. They just sit in little chairs and must use their lap as a desk. It is uncomfortable and doesn’t make any sense. My student was asking me if they could bring a small table to class so they would have something to write on. 4. They do not teach the state curriculum. They teach “the jungle way” which is safer. More head checks, longer following distances, different procedures, that kind of thing. There is a lot of “the state says to do this, but do it our way instead.” One issue is that what they are learning does not match the state exam, and my student said that made it confusing and harder when taking the state exam. Final thoughts: I had another student go through a different driving school and none of this nonsense took place. The workbook was provided. They sat at desks. And the required drive times were available to all the students. No problems. My personal recommendation is to go somewhere else if you can. If you can’t, it’s only 3 weeks (plus additional drives afterward if you don’t sign up fast enough) so you will survive.

Negative experience: I went here as a student. They have cool cars and room. But they had no desks, kindergarten chairs, you have to print your own book, and they exaggerate the rules extremely which makes the state test difficult. The instructors are awesome. Except this one lady that never said anything during the drive except when I almost crashed. They are over booked too so ~25% can’t even get all thair drives or observes in. This was so bad a bad time would not recommend this place to anyone.

Fantastic experience: I went here for my level 1 drivers Ed, and they were amazing. The teachers and driving instructors were super nice. I had Robert and he was super nice. All of the instructors were great with new drivers, and I am looking forward to taking my level 2 training here.

Positive experience: Actual driving instruction is very good however the seats during class time in the building are somewhat uncomfortable to sit in for 2 hours of instruction. During drives it is actually quite difficult to mess up due to the driving instructors being very experienced with bad drivers. Overall quite good.

RaRa is an incredible guy and taught everyone in the class very well, while still being entertaining. Negative experience: Seeing some really divided reviews here, I feel I have no choice but to go against the grain. While I feel that this driving school has a somewhat good program, having taken both segments here, I can not deny that there are quite a few things they can improve upon. For one, scare tactics are a big thing here when they really shouldn’t be. For example, “green means death”. Why would we want to put kids through that? It just makes them even more anxious about something they already probably have an unhealthy level of anxiety for. Secondly, there is too much information that they make you memorize without having experienced it first, such as an ENTIRE laminated sheet of which the front must be completely memorized and the 10 headings on the back must be completely memorized. Thirdly, some things the school teaches are just way too inaccurate and/or not feasible. For example, how do you plan to achieve a 6-8 second following distance consistently, especially at a speed of >40 mph? A lot of stuff I learned while driving either had to be relearned or completely learned myself.

Negative experience: I attended Jungle Survival Drivers Training in 2008. I only attended segment 2 at this organization, but recall ‘Rahrah’ screaming at my peers asking if they had hemroids when they were unable to memorize and repeat the rules of jungle driving. I remember feeling fearful of Rahrah that prompted me to write this review 10 years later. I can only hope these fear tactic teachings from Rahrah have stopped since I attended.

Negative experience: Not sure how instructors are with learners in the car but they are terrible other times....honking at people and giving them the middle finger. Not the type of behavior I want my kids around

Fantastic experience: I just finished segment 1 and got my permit, I can honestly say that it's the best place to go and they have amazing teachers. The classes are far from boring and I 100% recommend going to jungle.

Fantastic experience: I spent the last three weeks in segment one, and i must say it was easily the best part of the day. Even though being a full time high school student, jungle gave you time to unwind and learn in a fun, and skillful way how to become a great driver. The instructor, RaRa, makes the class fun and teaches you how to become a defensive driver on the open cement pavement jungle. Even though it may sound dumb or whatever, but I enjoyed being at jungle enough to the point where I did three to six more hours of Observations for more then learning the skill, but for the friendlyness of the drivers and the instructors.

Fantastic experience: All 3 of my children have attended Jungle. My husband and I could not be more pleased. The state wants students to react in the car but Jungle teaches students to anticipate situations before they cause problems. By sitting in on the classes with our students, it has challenged my husband and I to become better drivers as well. Ra-Ra has a real love and passion for what he is doing! He goes the extra mile for any student needing the extra help! Can't say enough about the wonderful work they do to try to make our children safe on the roads!

Negative experience: I gave myself a couple of months before I posted in order to collect my thoughts about this place. I do not like to slam small businesses, but I truly feel that I have a duty to inform other parents about the choice they are making. First of all, they are terribly disorganized. Between my husband and I, we left 4 messages during my son's time there only to be called back exactly ZERO times. They lost my son's paperwork twice. When asking the office staff questions, they are never able to answer. Second, they will tell your child to do the opposite of what the state wants them to do. My son failed the written test the first time he took it. Okay. Sometimes that happens, but when you investigate why, you will find out that they are told not to study. I sat in on a classroom time. While the kids were watching the state videos that teach them what the state will test them on, the instructor paused the movie to tell them "at Jungle, we don't do it this way. Don't do it this way". I was gobsmacked! And you wonder why so many kids are failing the first written exam?? For the second written exam, we studied from the state guide, and my son passed the exam with flying colors. The third reason I would never recommend this place is personal, and if this was the only issue I had, I would have let it slide. The owner feels the need to scare the kids within an inch of their life about how serious driving is. Well, it is serious. I can appreciate that some kids need to hear this. My oldest son needed to. But if your kid is a highly anxious individual, as my younger son is, this is absolutely not the driving school for you. He is still terrified that he will make the same mistake he did on his very first drive. He is terrified that we will die every time he drives. He absolutely hates it, and I have to FORCE him to get behind the wheel. So thanks for that, Jungle. Furthermore, I walked behind the owner making fun of my son's anxieties to another driving instructor. Needless to say, we will not be heading back to this school for segment two, and I'm truly sorry to leave such a negative review.
