Ride On t3rg: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Big shoutout to Chris very helpful very patient extremely comfortable with learning with him thank you
Fantastic experience: Well what can I say??? This whole course from start to finish was a great experience! So fun and educational. The riding course was awesome, Dave Miles was an awesome instructor; he was patient, funny, helpful, and informative! He made my experience one to remember. The Ecourse was so helpful with the learning of how to do basically all the fundamentals within the motorcycle riding experience. I came in with zero knowledge other than sitting on a bike. I came away with 90% more knowledge. I’m excited to keep practicing to up my experience. This course is well worth the money and time!
Negative experience: Colleen crook
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend the Top Gun course with Tony! I got my M endorsement two years ago and was wanting to brush up on my skills. I signed up for the Level 1 and Level 2 courses on back-to-back days. Colleen was super helpful in the registration process and in responding to my questions. This course was a game-changer for my confidence as a rider. Right off the bat my nerves were calmed with Tony’s easy going nature. He was super knowledgeable without being cocky and incredibly helpful in his feedback without being judgmental. The class ran at the perfect speed. If we picked up on a drill quickly, we moved on to the next one. When we needed more time practicing a pattern Tony allowed for extra time to run through it a few more times. He made it clear from the beginning that he wasn’t going to make us better riders, but rather give us the tools and knowledge to put into use. Overall, it was a super fun and well-done course, definitely worth the money! Looking forward to taking the next level Top Gun Course.
Fantastic experience: I took the basic riding course to earn my motorcycle endorsement for my drivers license. The skills we must acquire to pass are challenging, however Faisal my instructor is a Jedi of teaching techniques to fast track you to gaining those skills to pass! I highly recommend this company and instructor! I gained my endorsement today and couldn’t be happier!
Negative experience: I took this class last summer. I completed the first day and a half when I realized I would like to complete the class privately because of my disability. When I first spoke to Colleen about it, she said I could pick up where I left off and pay hourly, to which agreed. It took weeks for her to get back to me about finding an instructor to work with. When I was finally scheduled for class, it was cancelled last minute. This happened twice. She then wanted me to retake the whole class and pay hourly. That was not the original agreement. I stopped hearing from her. About the class: The class took place in a high school parking lot where there was no shade or way to escape the heat. We spent the day in 100° heat on black asphalt. The company refuses to reschedule on hot days and you only get few short breaks because the instructor just wants to get through the lessons as soon as possible. One of the girls in our class had to leave early due to heat exhaustion and because of that, she failed the class. I really wanted to like this program but it feels just like a money grabbing business. Colleen has poor communication and management skills. I do not recommend.
Negative experience: Just a bad place
Negative experience: My wife and son took this course years ago and loved it. For a gift, I paid for my nephew to attend- name initial C.C. He was assigned to work out of town for 2 weeks but would fly in Friday , take the course and fly back Sunday. Class was canceled on Wednesday and rescheduled at Fay Myers. Flew back home on Friday( cost more to change travel plans) anyway. Now he is rescheduled and the e-course is no longer valid. Class day comes and he's riding good but botches the final (his fault) and has to retake the test. I drove by Fay Myers just to show support. 90+ degrees on the blacktop. The shade was a canopy but the instructors and desks were under it. You could poke your head in for a minute but no real space to get out of the sun. Needless to say he was very disappointed as was I. Will probably put him in a different class but it is his choice. Cannot recommend this course anymore. There is more I'm sure and I'll hear more this weekend from my nephew. He went from being super excited to super let down. Update-several weeks later and no follow-up with an option to retake the test. Pretty discouraged.
Your nephew was disappointed with his exoerience and not passing the class evaluation first time out. I understand. Your nephew is not the only person who retakes a portion of the riding session so he is able to complete the evaluation test with a passing score. Just means he needs more practice before he is ready to ride on the street. What a great gift you gave him! He will be offered a retake for his day 2 session and retest for the evaluation as soon as he contacts the office to discuss his schedule, which as you have stated, includes working out of town. As for the temperature, we do not have control over the heat. We do, however, provide water at no charge for students. I cannot offer detailed options without speaking to him. Colleen
Fantastic experience: Quick start. No fluff. Great teaching style and techniques from Fizel, Chris, & Ty. Easy to understand. Quick and smooth transition between each exercise. Super safe and consistent. I can drive anything that steers but it'd been 30+ years since riding a bike. Also needed my endorsement for street legal. Easy decision. Would definitely recommend this class to anyone. Thx Fizel, Ty, & Chris. Great class!
Thanks, Justin, for taking the time to share kudos after your experience at T3RG Motorcycle Schools!
Fantastic experience: TLDR: Great course. 10/10 would recommend for any student ready to learn. Only downside, it took a month between signing up and getting into the classes. But, understandable because it's riding season!!!! I completed the BRC this past weekend. The zoom class was cool and pretty interactive for an e-course. Of course, that will depend mostly on the attendees participation. The instructors answered all our questions and went through the exercises at a good pace. I would like to admire my on-range RC, Ty. Ty is an awesome coach! He made me feel so calm! I was extremely nervous and almost made up an injury (to myself) to not attend the class. I felt at ease right away! Ty has a very calming voice and demeanor. He is very knowledgeable and kind! Ty is easy to talk to and answered questions directly and never made anyone feel bad or silly for asking questions. Everything was explained very well and his demonstrations were excellent. He accentuated his movements to be clear what he was doing and where he was looking for each exercise; much appreciated. Ty always gave me constructive feedback but also a lot of praise! I believe this teaching style is great for a new rider. I really am grateful he was my coach! Thanks for the class! I now have the confidence to keep practicing as a brand new rider. "Everyday is my first day." -Coach Ty
Negative experience: Expensive with below average customer service. Let me explain. First I would like to say that my instructor (Damian) is an excellent instructor and I enjoyed his class. The reason I’m giving this company a low rating is because I asked for what I believe was a reasonable accommodation and they did not want to work with me. In their fleet of motorcycles, they have a BMW model that should not be used to teach beginners. The friction zone for the clutch in these models is almost none existent. In other words, I tried releasing the clutch as slowly as humanly possible while also compensating with throttle, but the engine would still stall. You may say, “oh you’re just a beginner and haven’t figured out the clutch in a motorcycle yet”. Well let me just say that even our instructor stall the engine on these bikes several times while demonstrating because of the same issue. During my class they had to retire one of these BMW because it wouldn’t start and another student also complained about his and got a different bike. The levers on these bikes are not adjustable, so only the very tip of my fingers could reach. As a result my hands started cramping. When I brought this up to my instructor, he he told me that I was doing well so I kept trying. I took a written test but couldn’t tell you if I passed because I never got results. At the end, Damian told me that I didn’t pass the practice test, but was very close to passing and that I should coordinate with Colleen to try again. Here is where things got even worse, Colleen was not interested in hearing my concerns with the motorcycle but very eager to charge me another $80 for me to repeat day 2 of the course. Here are some of the options I wished Colleen would’ve considered; a) We’ll let you try again with a different bike. b) As a courtesy, we’ll let you retake the practice test in a different bike for free or at least with a discount. But no, she when on to say that my hand’s muscles needed to develop and that I could not get the bike up to enough speed to pass one of the exercises in the practice exam. ***HERE ARE THE GOOD NEWS*** I’m very proud to confirm that I wasn’t the issue here. I went with IRON BUFFALO MOTORCYCLE TRAINING and with the motorcycle they provided I did not stall the engine once. Their staff was super friendly and had a legitimate interest on helping me succeed. Their class was more affordable, They provided more miles of training, they would lend you a properly sanitized helmet if you don’t have one and will cover your second try if you don’t pass the first time. I now have my endorsement thanks to them. Learn from my mistake and go with the best first.
Alex,
I recall our extensive conversation after you failed the evaluation test. You were unable to hear my responses and kept insisting that the reason you were unable to accomplish the maneuvers was you were on the wrong bike. You were given the option to retake day 2. You declined and went to Iron Buffalo. Congratulations on completing successfully the second time. We often see dramatic improvement on the second try. Colleen
Fantastic experience: The Instructor Mr. Brian was total professional and i learnt some invaluable lessons. I've riding from the 70's and I "Thought" I knew how to ride. Now I know there is so much more to riding and i alraedy feel safer on the road from all the good things I have learned. I will recommend T3RG to all my friends or anyone who wants to learn how to ride the safe and correct way. Thanks Mr. Brian! John Paul "The Jamaican Rider"
Fantastic experience: I took the T3RG Basic Rider Course and was thoroughly impressed. The instructors do an amazing job working with the class to ensure participants build a solid understanding of safety and risk management. The office staff, especially Colleen, was incredibly helpful and accommodating to my unique schedule. I highly recommend choosing T3RG for your rider training.
Thanks, Cody! So happy to hear you enjoyed the BRC at T3RG recently. It was my pleasure working with your schedule. We do have an amazing team of instructors. Appreciate you taking the time to comment. Hope to see you again for more
advanced training. Colleen
Negative experience: Big time scammers here. Huge ripoff. Go somewhere that teaches how to safely ride a bike. Not just take your money. Buyer beware!
Michael, I have searched our student records back to 2004 and can find no student named Michael Becker. I do not understand the purpose of your extermely negative attacking review of T3RG without any personal experience of our training classes.
Colleen Boyle, President
Fantastic experience: I had my first training class yesterday with Dave, and it was a great experiece. I took the BRC2 course with my brother and our other friend and we all had a great time learning new techniques and practicing basics. The class truly is what you make it. If you make it long and boring, it will be; but if you make it exciting, light-hearted, and fun, it will be. Thanks Guys!
Glad you enjoyed and learned some good stuff in your BRC2 class. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Colleen Boyle, President T3RG
Fantastic experience: The class was enjoyable, educational, and effective. I ride regularly now and am recommending T3RG to others who are interested.
Negative experience: These people really don't know how to run a honest business. They ought to be shut down. Don't let them steal your money. Update: I'm afraid it's too late. Unless you would like to refund my money? Otherwise i just hope people can read this and be smarter then I was.
Sam. I am sorry you had a bad experience with T3RG. I cannot find any Sam in our class rosters from 45-60 days ago, so I have no idea what your issue was, but if you would be so kind as to contact me directly I will attempt to deal with your concerns.
Negative experience: They just want to make a quick buck. They could care less if you learn anything. They will make sure you leave with your endorsement, but that's it. Really not much proffessionalism with this company. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
Laura, I do not have anyone by your name in our class rosters at any time in the last 15 years we have been in business, so I must assume the complaint was written by someone else using your name. The details of your complaint sound a lot like a young man I have spoken to several times who overslept and did not arrive in time to attend his session as a result. The instructor called him to make sure he was OK, as is our practice, and when he asked if the class would wait for him, the instructor did as suggested and asked the class if they wanted to wait for the late student. All seven students said no: we got here on time; we do not want to wait.
If you are this young man, as I suspect, you then called me and demanded a refund...because you overslept. I said no. You received several emails confirming the class start time, homework requirement, gear requirement, and the consequences if you did not arrive on time. You were offered the chance to reschedule for a later session for a reduced fee. You seemed unable to recognize that you were the cause of your situation. You threatened to 'blast us on social media' to show me how sorry I would be if I did not 'do the right thing and give you your money back'. Looks like this is one of your blasts.
In 15 years in business and after teaching close to 16,000 students, I have never been a party to the rants and threats you made.
Fantastic experience: Great course good people. Jesse is a great instructor!
Negative experience: The teacher was great, given what she had to work with, and I do have my endorsement, so that is good. (This was a women only class, and it was a super hot weekend) The class in many ways was well beneath what I believe it could be, especially for the price. It was held in a parking lot near a college, but we had no use of the school for anything, including the restroom. We had a portable bathroom. (porta potty) There was no clear schedule, and we were very behind after the first day. So we crammed a lot into day 2. No clear lunch time or breaks, we were just kind of winging it. The email I received previous to class said there would be a cool place if it was hot, and cold water, which was shade under a tree, and no cold water.(did have cold water 2nd day) The class time was at a location down the street, in a warm room with folding chairs, and what I thought were mediocre accommodations. I think the curriculum was helpful, and the teacher was good (better when she had help on day 2), but it was far from what I would prefer from a class that cost $335.
Fantastic experience: The owner is a great guy and has great customer service if you are looking for basic riding classes or advanced riding classes this is the place to go !!!!! Hands down the nicest people in the business
