Fantastic experience: Taking the 4/12 Morning class, my instructor is Ted, he is super super nice, my English is not good enough to understand the some knowledge points, Ted will explain it to me, or speak slowly if he notices that I might not have understood. He encourages me lot, give me a lot of confidence. When he asked” what gave you confidence when you turn?“ today, he was expecting we answer the knowledges. I heard a guy say” you” Yes! It is Ted, give us a lot more confidence. When I saw my knowledge test score was”82” I thought” oh, almost failed”, Ted said” great job! Angie!” I learned the positive attitude from him not only how to ride a bike safely. Thank you! Ted! I really appreciate your support!

Fantastic experience: If you are still deciding whether to take CMSF course, which is somewhat expensive, this experience cover more than that. Professional & engaging & supportive environment

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend! Ted and Russ were super cool but also took their job very seriously. I felt totally comfortable with them as a beginner lady. I learned a ton and gained confidence riding.

Fantastic experience: I would like to preface this message with the following. Regardless of whether or not I passed (I did for those wondering), I would still have left the same review/sentiments. For starters, The staff. I signed up for the class with Greg over the phone. He’s extremely helpful. My two instructors Ted and Russ were the most down-to-earth, kind, respectful, inspiring, patient, and funniest people I had the pleasure of meeting. Those two gentlemen are truly passionate about motorcycles and motorcycle safety. It felt as if Ted and Russ were two old friends of mine, which was extremely welcomed due to the Boot Camp style treatment a lot of other schools seem to operate under. Next, learning. All the learning/classes are streamlined to promote simplicity and productivity; without sacrificing quality of instruction/information. In the zoom classes I learned extremely valuable Info that helped me pass the written portion of the MSF testing. In the riding classes, you learn literally everything there is to learn about motorcycle safety and operation. I started this course with ZERO experience, I never even touched a motorcycle, and by the time I was done; I was confident knowing that I have developed lifelong skills that I will continue to cultivate throughout my motorcycle journey. In conclusion, it doesn’t matter if this is your first time mounting up, or if you’ve been riding for years; you will learn what needs learning and walk away knowing you made the right choice. This course is an investment that is worth every penny, heck, I would pay double if it was asked of me. Uride Costa Mesa is THE BEST of MSF courses. Do yourself the favor and sign up with them.

Fantastic experience: I had an incredible experience with Uride. I'm not going to lie, I was shaking in my boots on the first day. I had never touched a bike and didn't understand what a clutch does. I can't believe how much I've improved with a handful of hours of instruction & practice. Ted and Russ were the best teachers! They're lowkey hilarious. I felt like they actually cared about me and wanted to share something that's brought them so much joy. I also love that this is a local, family run business. I spoke with Greg initially because I had the flu and needed to reschedule my session. He was flexible and compassionate when he didn't have to be. I'm truly impressed. And friends, if I can do it, trust me, you can too.

Fantastic experience: Let's be clear- Every review you've read so far is COMPLETLY ACCURATE!!! I came to URide with zero, that's right, ZERO experience on a motorcycle. Within just a few short sessions, Ted and Kip helped me build a foundation of basic rider skills that will serve me for the rest of my time as a motorist. If you are in the socal area and looking for the perfect place to take the CMSP, look no further. These are the guys you want.

Fantastic experience: I don't know motorcycle schools and therefore cannot compare URIDE to other motorcycle schools nor other motorcycle instructors for that matter. But I do know people and the 3 individuals I interacted with were nothing short of amazing. The first person I spoke to on the phone was so warm and inviting that any and all initial trepidation and anxiety immediately vanished. Now Ted and Kip on the other hand......we're twice as warm and 3 times as inviting. Again, I don't how they match up to other moto instructors but better PEOPLE you won't find. You feel their sincerity, integrity, and kindness as soon as they flash those pearly whites or lack thereof. I wasn't afraid to make a mistake or many..which isn't the case more often than not when taking lessons for anything. They truly wanted ALL of us to succeed. I was more nervous and uncomfortable when taking violin lessons. Every instructor(no matter what the subject) can and should take a lesson from these two. I would go as far as to say, I'd be proud and honored to have either one of these guys be godfather to one of my children. Too far? Well, you get the idea. Sign up! You'll see what I mean. Thanks again guys. I wish you guys nothing but joy and no regrets. See you in the advanced classes.

Fantastic experience: They are experienced people . They are nice to each person in class. They understand how new drivers are and guide carefully.

Fantastic experience: Awesome course, taught a lot of technical skills that I am extremely thankful to know, especially with how drivers in socal are. I actually ended up missing my first class. They worked with me and were extremely patient and proactive with getting me placed in makeup classes. The on-bike days are also super fun. Great way to learn new skills or sharpen existing knowledge. I could not advise y'all to take this course enough.

Fantastic experience: Ted and team provide a great and valuable training course. I signed up with Uride to bypass the DMV test but gained much more than that by taking the course. Learned a lot and improved my riding technique.

Fantastic experience: Ted and Ross are excellent instructors, I'm highly grateful for his patience and motivation, they are really skilled riders that have amazing experience and abilities to transmitted their knowledge to their students in a proper respectful manner that helps to built confidence. Thank again for the job you do.

Fantastic experience: I have to say they have great knowledgeable instructors Ted and Mark were so helpful I’ve learned a lot from them and I passed the course so easily nothing was so hard I gotta say I’ve been riding for quite a while but on this course, I found my weaknesses and they helped me to improve my skills

Fantastic experience: Ted is very easy to listen to and learn from. Great teacher.

Fantastic experience: If you show up on time, pay attention, and are willing to accept feedback, you will walk away with more skills than you came into the course with - I say this as someone with prior riding experience. Ted and Mark were great, Ted does an admirable job at making the zoom classes more engaging than simply clicking through hundreds of slides. I had a great time and plan to return for the intermediate course at some point.

Fantastic experience: Every instructor is great and the course was amazing. The three keys to success for this course is 1. Be on time 2. Wear proper gear and lastly 3. Focus and be attentive

Fantastic experience: It's been a little while since I took my Training Course here but I felt like leaving a review! Great instructors. Zoom classes we're easy to follow and quite humorous so you wouldn't get bored. Even though I've been riding my whole life I still picked up some great tips during the parking lot riding training. I would recommend this place to anyone I know. Oh and a helpful tip: Don't miss your classes

Chris Sta Ana 3 years ago

Negative experience: Not a very considerate motorcycle training center. When they get the money and you missed the actual driving day, they will promise to call you and put you in another schedule but they won't call you. My son went to a different school which is way better and very nice people.

Fantastic experience: Awesome course! I loved it. And I got my license now

Fantastic experience: I'm going to write this review in a way that I would want to see it if I was trying to decide to take this course. Experience Level: I rode dirt bikes a couple of times with my friends when I was younger but did not have any recent experience with something motorized on two wheels. I was a tad concerned about what shifting would be like, but I'm coordinated and figured I could manage. Desired Outcome: I wanted to take the class as a way to "try out" and get exposure to motorcycles without having to buy one. I knew that I like the idea of getting one for my short commute to work, but would I feel differently after sitting on one? U-Ride provides the bikes so this seemed to align well. Process: Two night sessions on zoom where Ted (both funny and personable) walks you through what safe riding looks like. This is largely him explaining how to pass the DMV written application test, so pay attention. Two range sessions where they set up cones in a parking lot and run you through what it's like to be on a motorcycle. The second day they give you a preview of what the practical test will be like, although they don't come right out and say "Hey this is essentially the practical test". After you practice everything they allow you to decide if you want to do the test or not, if you don't you can come back for more instruction. I decided to take the test and passed. Reflections: There were a couple of times when the partner instructor (it was Ted and someone else with us at the parking lot) made remarks about me doing things incorrectly like it should be obvious - like turning the turn signal off (I literally did not know how to do this) or raising the kick stand in order to start. But to think that I was with these guys for 8 hours learning how to do something new and I have two things that maybe bothered me? Outstanding! Outcome: At the end of the second day I was a little concerned that my parking lot success would not translate to riding around on the street. I did end up purchasing a bike and taking it slow by only taking it out when I knew traffic would be dead for the first week. I was pleasantly surprised that everything they taught me on the range absolutely translated to riding success on the street. There is a whole lot more to learn about riding in the safest and best way, but I can comfortably say that if your desire is to use this course to decide if riding a motorcycle is for you this will absolutely fill that need. If your desire is to take this course because you want to skip the DMV practical test and you already know that riding a motorcycle is for you I can also comfortably say that you'll learn a lot of great habits and feel better about riding afterwards. For those of you who are on the fence because you aren't certain you want other people witnessing you figure out something new and uncomfortable: everyone there is doing the same thing and is so worried about themselves they don't have time to look at you. It will be fine. Do it.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommended to come here if you want to actually know how to ride your bike as a new rider! The instructors are wonderful, caring people who really drill the important stuff into you, encourage you to feel comfortable and help you transition into this mechanically complex experience. They were able to get me in on real short notice and allow others to come to class and wait as a standby in case of any no-shows (no-shows DO happen so come by!) Thank you Ted and Kip! I'll be safe out there!

Fantastic experience: I called around to a few places and nobody had the customer service like Ted, Kip, and Greg. The instructors do an amazing job of teaching you the fundamentals of riding and what to do in basic situations that pose threats to your wellbeing when out in the real world. This was not only my first time operating a manual transmission, but my first time on a motorcycle. They worked with each of us and coached us on how to ride better and be more confident on the road. Riding is not for everyone and it has nothing to do with their teaching style but everything to do with people's willingness to be coached and if they have the confidence to know the risks of riding. They provide all the reading material to pass their written test and 2 days on the range is adequate to pass their practical. You need to pass both to get the DMV waiver, but know that you still need to pass the DMV written. They are concerned about safety and understand that if you pose a risk to yourself or others they may ask you to leave the course and try later. They also expect you to read the material they provide before first day, which goes without saying...but still not everyone listens. If you are looking to learn to ride, look no further than U Ride!

Fantastic experience: I say with absolute confidence the importance and value of this training. Back in my day, I rode big bikes on long summer rides. I suppose I rode well, no bad incidents, but here I enrolled in the beginning class to get back the feel of two wheels and a motor. I am glad I did. When we are away from frequent riding, we can slip into a sort of mind view of idealized cruising., Meaning, we mentally feel the connection of riding on the street. NOT true. The mind idealizes; the reality is, things change. Techniques such as counter steering, proper approach for turns; tight turns slow turns handling obstacles, to brake or not to brake in a turn, and why. Such things were not always presented or learned by riders. It may be pure luck no incidents occurred. Beginning class? More than that. This class breaks down the basic fundamentals of riding and handling your motorcycle REGARDLESS of your skill level. Nuances we may or may not have had, or techniques newly refined are all-inclusive of URides instruction presenting the ESSENTIAL 'LIFE SAVING, CRITICAL' elements absolutely necessary to safely operate a motorcycle. I know from my own experience that ultimately basics will rule. Advanced training is built on the basics. So I fully trust the staff at URide to have my back. I am far better in all ways, from my having taken their course. Personnel? Kip: I did not train with him, but I watched a few hours of his class. I was fully impressed with his humor and excellent connection with the students and presentation of the course material. Especially impressive were seeing those who were timid, mounting a bike for the first time. I watched these 'cupcakes' evolve from fear and stress to relaxed control with confidence. That is amazing. Ted: My teacher. He is a total chill laid back funny guy, who expertly guided us thru the realities of riding, and potential mishaps. All of the possibilities were covered including avoidance and countermeasures. To know is to act with proper technique, and not be forced to scramble for lack of knowledge. Ted (and Kip) inspire confidence essential to ride well. It became obvious there are better ways of riding than what many of us may have known or learned on our own. I spoke to old-school riders who never had such training or knew some of the specific skills necessary for our safety. Ted, helped me in a giant way, I think students feel his empathy, and that helps them replace apprehension with the confidence of new skill. Greg: I smile. Greg met me head-on. Of all the motorcycle school reps I spoke with, it was Greg who hit me with such a good understanding of my own weakness, and how to approach my training, I enrolled immediately. It was the best I could have done. All at URide care about each of their 'member students.' I saw timid beginners go from timidity to confidence with learned skills. I confidently trust URide as one of the very best MC Riding schools you will find.

Fantastic experience: Had the pleasure of taking U Ride to get started on my motorcycle journey. Classes were held via zoom Now (due to covid) which was surprisingly funny and informative. Groups are kept in a smaller size of 6 riders which is great as you get more one on one time. My instructor/zoom mater was Ted who was great, he helped me calm down my nerves about being a new rider and really was able to show me what I was doing wrong, how to fix it, and how to improve from that. I’d definitely recommend u ride to anyone and everyone looking to get out and ride.

Fantastic experience: Very friendly and helpful when calling to schedule the course. The class itself was awesome! Our instructor Ted was great! He kept us entertained and reinforced the importance of the class with an emphasis on safety. It is a beginners course and a lot of it is very basic, but I'm a beginner- it was just what I needed without being too much. All classroom trainings are currently conducted on zoom and the actual riding is very safe and there are no issues with keeping personal distance with covid, etc.

Fantastic experience: Don't hesitate to call and chat with Greg. He'll put your mind at ease when it comes to taking the course. Instructor Ted is absolutely amazing. From the zoom classes to riding on the range, he keeps its light and fun. I recommend taking this course to all wanting to get on two-wheels.

Fantastic experience: In a motorcycle training course, the instructors are the most important part of the program. U Ride Motorcycle Training has excellent instructors who want you to learn to ride correctly and safely while also enjoying the process. I went from zero motorcycle experience to basic knowledge and appreciation for staying safe. Highly recommend a MTC and U Ride is a great choice.

Fantastic experience: I love how Ted and Kev shared with us their skills, experience and passion of driving motorcycle. You could learn your driving skills a lot here. Pro Tip: taking this class and get the certificate FIRST , then go to DMV for writing test. You could save a lot of your time.

I appreciated the time spent with me and there motivation to help keep me safe while ridding. I definitely recommend this course to beginner motorcycle riders.

Fantastic experience: Not only good instruction, but a whole lot of fun!

Positive experience: Good instructors. Two faulty motorcycles slowed my training. After passing the course, it took three weeks to get my DL389 certificate due to administrative errors. One outstanding feature: they let you repeat the riding course if you opt out of taking the riding test the first time. Alas, all subsequent training is on a standby basis, which is an annoying inconvenience if you have to drive any distance only to be bumped, which happened to me.

David Tran 7 years ago

Fantastic experience: JJ was the classroom instructor which was awesome. She made the classroom portion fun and interesting. Riding portion was taught by Kip and Ted which were both awesome. They were very patient and through out the course was providing constructive criticism which was great. Over all was an awesome experience and will recommend to everyone.
