Fantastic experience: Absolutely loved it. They did a great job explaining everything. And this is coming from someone who has never touched anything manual. Highly recommend

Fantastic experience: I had a fantastic experience taking the CSMP course at Golden State Moto! The instructor Ray was knowledgeable, patient, and created a really supportive learning environment. Whether you're a complete beginner or just looking to improve your skills, they provide the tools and confidence you need to be a safe and responsible rider. I highly recommend Golden State Moto to anyone looking to get their motorcycle license or enhance their riding abilities. There is a written and range test at the end of the course which I was not aware of when I signed up for the course. Also, being a 5'4" girl, I was initially afraid of signing up for this course but they had different bikes to choose from and overall learning experience was great.

Fantastic experience: Great class overall highly recommend. They were a little inconsistent with times and they sent out some wrong emails but the instructors and the course itself were awesome

Fantastic experience: I've gone from not knowing how to even turn on a bike to knowing how to drive a bike and operate it safely at a basic level! Thanks again, Kyle and Ray! Taking this course has given me the confidence to get a bike!

Fantastic experience: I was very nervous going into this course after not being on a motorcycle in quite some time. Mike and Prema have a very calming demeanor about them and you can tell that they truly care about making safety on a motorcycle priority. If you are willing to listen and really apply yourself, these two will make sure you have the skills and mindset to safely operate a motorcycle as well as teach you how to maximize your safety and that of others on the road. I went into the course dead set on one of the most powerful bikes I could get my hands on, but these two really showed me that I may need to start a bit smaller to truly get the master class skill level that I am looking for. I will definitely return for the next level of classes in the future. Thank you both, you made my father's dream of riding with me actually come true! Cheers! Baal Cody Corsen

Fantastic experience: Awesome learning Experience! After this training course I now have the skills, understanding, and confidence to safely turn, stop, access real life situations before turning and much more. Most importantly I now have the know how to safely practice all of the drills and techniques taught on low traffic roads and parking lots around my residence. The instructors are what made the learning experience so good. We had several and they were all clearly passionate and knowledgeable about riding. Ray, the driving range instructor was a blast to be around!!! Dude brought the energy and knew how to keep the class fully engaged with humor and very contagious smile. The instructors made sure everyone were fully engaged and coached all of us after and during each drill. We learned from very beginning on what the controls of the bikes do to how to safely swerve the bike. The riding drills taught made sense, were fun as shit, and I saw my self improving after each drill. The final riding exam was all inclusive and everyone (10 of us) passed and the start of day 1 riding no one would have passed. I booked the course the day of and began the Day 1 (of 2) lectures that that night. Safety was clearly of highest priority and the instructor made sure everyone had their zoom camera on and were engaged in the class answering and reading questions and information. Great class! Should take it if you consider riding a motorcycle.

Fantastic experience: Golden state moto cares about its customers. We were told taking the class doesn't mean we'll pass. They told us prior that in order to get our waiver we need to show that we are competent and safe riders. Mycah and Prema are excellent instructors and showed us lifesaving tricks and techniques during our class. Thank you for the life changing experience. -Alvin

Fantastic experience: I took the motorcycle training course December 2023 with Micah. She’s a great instructor and I highly recommend this course to any rider. The atmosphere was welcoming, and I received my motorcycle endorsement in February. Ride safe!

Fantastic experience: This class is really good to take as a first time rider. The instructors are really helpful and very knowledgeable. I would recommend any new riders that aren’t that confident in themselves take this class or anyone thinking about riding.

Fantastic experience: Ray and Shayon were excellent instructors - they eased us through the process, made us feel comfortable on the bikes, and ensured everyone got the attention they needed to succeed. I don't think anyone in our class failed the test, thanks to those two. The school overall is very well organized, communicates clearly, and teaches you everything you need to know to get started on a motorcycle.

Fantastic experience: I am very happy with Golden state moto. For someone who has never ridden a motorcycle, I left much more comfortable about riding and confident I can leant to be a great rider. I'm no expert after a 2 day course, as no one should expect that, but I got so much knowledge and am very comfortable to now ride on my own, practice, and use good judgment. The instructors, Ray, Kyle, and Shayon, were patient, knowledgeable, understanding and supportive. The only downside is the parking lot is small and with a group of 9 there was more lag time than I would have liked it. Not everyone learns at the same pace and it can delay the opportunity to practice more while there with instructors.

Fantastic experience: As someone who is 5'4 and has never ridden a bike before, this was honestly one of the best experiences I could've had. Huge huge shoutout to Rakesh for going through the lessons with me (all of us) so patiently and kindly. All the instructors were incredibly nice and went through each lesson and practice at a great pace, and consistently repeated the lessons + "things to remember" over and over, which really helped me to remember the basics of riding. Rakesh especially remembered each individuals riding from the day / lesson before and gave specific tips for each person that helped to improve their riding. Because of the way GSM teaches the basics of riding, basics of the machine, and dangers of riding/the road, it really helped me to pass my DMV test on the first try. I'll definitely be back in the future for the advanced classes. :)

Fantastic experience: Great course and instructors(online and offline). Instructors are very knowledgeable and provide demonstrations where necessary. They also provide feedback to improve upon which I believe is important for self improvement

Sidharth Jangra 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: I took the one-day intermediate motorcycle course, which covers advanced handling skills such as throttle/brake control, slow and high-speed cornering, and swerving for obstacle avoidance. After the course, I feel more confident in my braking skills and have somewhat overcome my fear of jamming the tires by pressing hard on the brakes. I highly recommend this course for riders with basic skills or those, like me, who have extensive motorcycle experience but in different countries. It’s important to note that while they provide extra helmets and gloves, they do not have extra riding jackets or boots. Proper riding gear is mandatory; otherwise, you'll be asked to leave. In our class, two participants were sent home due to inadequate riding boots. So, make sure you have the proper gear before attending.

Fantastic experience: Great motorcycle training course. All the CMSP instructors are very knowledgeable and supportive throughout. Kyle and Arden were my instructors over zoom, they both did a fantastic job teaching and reviewing all the course work material. The three other instructors whom names I don’t remember (shamed) were all great, they all provided clear instruction and helpful feedback.

Fantastic experience: Having no experience and going into this was one of the most fun and probably most memorable decisions I will make. My instructors were Ariel and Mycah who were amazing and very energetic in person, they were very helpful and always gave positive feedback which helps you become a better rider depending on what skills you are having a bit of trouble on. Overall the pacing of the course is amazing, the people who I took the class with, while only knowing one of the 9 total, were amazing people. I would highly recommend taking the course here whether you are going solo or with a group!

Negative experience: The [beginner] class itself was fine. I don't feel that I learned anything extraordinary. The online learning section requires zoom with your camera on, and I was told I'm not allowed to read the handbook alongside the course. The structure of the lessons did not really match my learning style. It was a lot of listening and waiting for cones to be reset followed by drills for 5-10 minutes, however most of the drill time you're just waiting in line for the other students anyway. I prefer to have lots of repetitions back to back, learning is hard when there is 2-5 minutes between attempts. I've grown significantly more comfortable riding by just riding around parking lots for a couple hours. The instructor was basically reading the teaching guide verbatim, and it felt extremely generic to a point of almost being disingenuous or robotic. For some of the drills I was given contradictory instructions, "go 15mph through this turn to practice countersteer" but then was told I was going to fast though the speedo said 15... And without sufficient speed you can't countersteer. For the evaluation I failed by 1pt, and almost the entire class failed. I retook the test with a different instructor only and only missed 1 pt, almost the entire class passed. So, not sure what the deal was. Maybe my first instructor just didn't like me, or everyone. They contacted me to collect the fee for the retest and said I could provide CC details over the phone, or pay via venmo or zelle. All 3 options are absolutely wild to me in 2024, especially considering I paid for the class initially online where they have a CC form. The Venmo account isn't even a business account, it's a personal account of a "manager" of golden state moto. Using a personal account is a massive red flag for a business, especially one supposed to be working with government licensing and safety. The zelle info is at least a business domain. All in all I wouldn't say I recommend this organization, but if you're looking to get into motorcycling just take the class to get it over with and be ready to react to small details--they have ZERO tolerance for a handful of small things. If you are 1 minute late, you might be dismissed without a refund or reschedule.

I successfully completed this course and left with many VITAL riding skills, awareness, techniques and more! Fantastic experience: If you are looking to get your Motorcycle license, I highly recommend taking this course. My instructors were Dyllon and Mike. They were both very knowledgeable and taught us a TON of stuff. I was a bit nervous at first, since I haven’t been on a bike in many years. Now, I have way more confidence and will continue to use the skills they taught us. 10/10 definitely recommend this course!

Fantastic experience: Very professional staff. My virtual instructor was really nice and courteous. The classes started on time. The pace of the class was very good with multiple checkpoints for knowledge tests. Breaks came at the right time to ensure fatigue reduction. On track course was very helpful. Instructor made sure we were able to learn all the driving techniques and ensure we got sufficient practice. The Riding test was very smooth and instructor made sure we had enough opportunity to demonstrate our learnings. Make sure you arrive on time. Overall great experience. The bikes provided were meh but for a class i would say its ok. Gear was provided in form of helmet and gloves.

Positive experience: It was cool everything was good. I did not like the instructor I got one day. I don't remember his name. He was Indian or something, he drive a clapped out KTM. The other guy was cool. But this guy doesn't explain well. And then gets mad that I don't see his "hand signals" when we are supposed to have eyes where we are going. Dude was really rude and claims I wasn't listening. I cannot hear with the motor running and helmet on. Someone that rides of all things should know. I recommend the program. I will not take a class with this instructor again. But the school should invest in a radio for the helmet so the rude instructor can communicate better ‍♂️ what do I know

Fantastic experience: As a new rider with no riding experience, no manual driving experience, and only knowing how to ride a normal bycycle, the MSF course that GoldenStateMoto has is very easily explained, and had lots of opportunities to take a breather and reset to practice again. I took a 3-day weekend course at the Masonic in the afternoon. Our classroom instructor, Arden, was amazing and naturally talented at explaining the materials that it was easy to digest for the knowledge part of the course. For the next two days over the weekend, my instructors were Shayon and Ray. They do have a bad cop & good cop vibes during the range, but they have shared stories, and experiences that I find memorable. I would especially like to shout out to Shayon for helping me out with the issues that I had, and giving a lot of helpful feedback along the way. Overall, if you're looking to sign up for a MSF course in the south-bay, GoldenStateMoto is the one to go to!

Negative experience: The guys who run the back-end operations and business, lack understanding of providing basic customer service. This is evident from another customer review down below who has also complained about lack of proper admin function of this business. In my case, I missed a session due to medical emergency and requested them right away to reschedule if possible or rebook the entire session at a discounted rate which is also allowed under their stated policy. I emailed, texted and called them several times but they never responded beyond the first call, nor they have a systemic mechanism to re-book it online based on a past session. It's been 4 months and I still haven't received a response. RESPONSE TO BUSINESS RESPONSE So now that I posted a review online and their claim of me failing to call them back is another misrepresentation of facts. No one wants a free ride, here the business in question never bothered to respond back to calls, email and voicemail I left. Just so that for everyone's sake, they replied after 4 months to my email now, only because I chose to post this review, shows their attitude and seriousness to resolve a genuine case. Where were they all this while? RESPONSE TO BUSINESS SECOND RESPONSE Well, when it came to rescheduling, you guys never responded, The matter is still open in my opinion.

Golden State Moto
Golden State Moto

Hi Prashant,
We spoke the day after your missed class, and about rescheduling you at the discounted rate. That was the conversation that I guess makes us "lack morality" because you missed the class and since we didn't give you a free ride, you refused to pay the reschedule fee, per our policy! We'd be happy to have you come back, you'll need to call us for the discounted rate.

2nd RESPONSE:
Prashant, you lost your charge back because you lied. We included the phone record for the bank. They saw we spoke. Sorry you lost.

Fantastic experience: We went to these classes last week as a couple. They are very experienced and organized in the way they teach you. We love their patience and thoroughness in explaining it each part of the way! They let you chose a bike that fits your height and all. Kyle is super knowledgeable in the way of recognizing your individual things to work on and on how to improve. Mycah was amazing! She is so enthusiastic in teaching you, but will still be firm in correcting you on what you need to focus on. Arden really knows how to teach both in Zoom part of the class and on the range. It's easier to learn faster from her suggestions. What we love about the instructors is that they did so great in teaching us as a group, but also spent time in doing individual coaching(s) whenever needed. At the end, they also did individual evaluation and they gave us personal further recommendations based on what they observed with our bike riding techniques. We really are happy we chose this school and we're planning to work only with them on our next level of riding learning. (Solomon and Andreja)

Fantastic experience: As someone who had never been on a motorcycle before taking the class at Golden State Moto, I really appreciated the professionalism, patience, and care the instructors at Golden State Moto showed me. I had the honor of having Mycah, Prema, Kevin, and Kyle as my instructors. They were very thorough and clear when giving feedback and very patient when I made mistakes I found embarrassing. I came in very timid and came out more confident. I want to practice more before getting my own bike, so I'm looking forward to taking more classes and lessons with them.

Jean-Jacques Loesch 2 years ago

Negative experience: Website is somehow misleading, if you are looking for a good time getting back at riding a bike this is NOT what it is about. It is an exam and you should consider it like it. If you connect 4 mins late to the zoom meeting (theory session), you'll be kicked out. IT, connection issues, no exceptions and no refund.

Fantastic experience: Pretty amazing experience and got a chance to ride a motorbike after a gap of 16 good years. I was referred to GSM by my friend who had recently attended their safety course. The registration process was a breeze though finding spots that would work given my work schedule got a bit challenging though nothing too complicated or difficult. Having that out of the way , i got an email from their team a day or so in advance, preparing me for the class. Prema was our instructor for the delivering the online part of the safety program. This would be a total of close to 5 hours or spanning over two evenings. He was very detailed in his talk and made sure that we understood the concepts. He popped questions along the way that definitely did help reenforce what we learned that far and as well prepare for the eventual written exam. He definitely gave us realtime examples and made learning a fun process which easily could have been a long boring 5 hours with some dry content around bikes et al. Kudos to Prema for the same!! Following the first day of the online class (which happened to be a Thursday evening for the group that i was a part of) we got to the training ground (parking lot) on a chilly Saturday morning at around 6:40 AM or where we did the initial checkin, signed waivers (printing and signing it overnight does help in case you plan to reach there just in time), the instructors verify the gear and from there on starts the fun part. Our instructors for the first day were Kyle and Ed. Pretty amazing humans with some amazing level of patience and amazing clarity in the instructions that they would give. They made sure that we took the right baby steps to crawl before we started to walk and eventually run away with the program. Concluded the day with a briefing after the class around what we achieved through as well receiving individual feedback from Kyle in case one was interested in finding out about themselves. Pretty eventual day though it didn't end there as we had to head back and get ready for the second online class in a few hours. The online class in the evening was again a Prema masterclass as he walked us through the remainder of the topics. He did a great job with the explanation and as well explained concepts and questions that came along the way. A job very well done. Day 2 of riding began sharp at 7 AM. Checked in around 6:30 AM and got to meet our instructors for the day Shaoyan and Isaac. Got to our bikes from day 1 and did a few warm up rounds with the last skill that was taught yesterday. Once those were out of the way we got started with a bit more complicated skills though they were taught and demonstrated which helped us grasp those in an easy to understand style and as well execute the same. During the breaks Shayon and Issac did help answer any questions that may have come up and as well shared their riding experiences that they have garnered over a period of time. From the breaks we would get on to the driving skills and eventually around 11 AM is when we were told about the skills test where each in the group would be asked to do 5 tasks (everybody in the group does the same task and then the group moves on to the next one) on the basis of which each of the riders would be rated. The skills test was conducted right after and a bonus skill was taught towards the end of the day. Towards the end of this each of the riders were called and informed as to how they performed and if they passed the skills test they would be asked to proceed further and take the written test which is based on what's learnt on the field while riding the bikes and as well in the online classes. Massive thanks to everybody that is involved at Golden State Moto in helping deliver life saving skills to the novice or experienced riders and making bike riding safe for others out there as well. Would definitely recommend Golden State Moto!!! PS: No training cones were hurt during the 2 days of classes and as well in the process of writing this review :

Fantastic experience: Our experience at C.M.S.P has been exceptional. The instructors Rakesh ans Sayon are truly invested in the students safety and education as well as their growth as learners. Adjustments are made as needed to meet the needs of the individual student. Fantastic experience: In General: The instructors are very professional in teaching. (From Isaac, Kyle, Steven, Shea, etc.). PRO: I learned well. They would explains different scenarios on the streets and how to deal with them. Cause they really want you to be safe out there once you're on the road driving on your own. They would demonstrate every exercise first before they allow you to ride in the parking lot. Also they have pretty much all the equipment/gear you need to learn but better if you bring your own (gloves, pants, and helmet). CONS: I downloaded the zoom app on my phone in order for me to not miss the zoom class after the riding session. (Note: There's only a short gap so if you live at San Fran, San Mateo, East Bay and you're driving home you should download the app cause you're required to be in the zoom class by law). NEUTRAL: Everyone has there own pace of learning so if you don't pass the first time don't get discourage and just keep trying. Cause two of my classmates we're second time there, and I'm really glad that they pass.

Fantastic experience: Short Review: Go now, do it! Trainers are patient and incredibly knowledgeable. They want to help get you out there on the road safely. These guys love what they do, and it shows. From the online classroom to in the seat course training. All around great experience! -- Longer Review: Day 1, Isaac was great! We had a fantastic group who were talkative and asked great questions. It's not always easy with nerves early in the morning. Each subject covered was thoroughly explained and critical to the course later in the afternoon. Later we met with Cesar and Kyle. Both were super helpful and didn't hesitate to correct and coach good behavior. I'm a firm believer that good habits are formed early, and they did a solid job reinforcing the skills we were to learn. Kyle was direct with his hand signals and consistent vocabulary, "GoOoOooOOood." Cesar has this demanding but calm presence which helped shake the nerves as the day went on. I had no experience on a motorcycle before, and by the end of the first day, the butterflies and nerves started to fade. Day 2, Back at it with Isaac, who is a connoisseur of caffeine. He was bright-eyed and ready to go! Day two was a deep dive on a lot of the subjects covered in Day one. More advanced awareness concepts and safety protocols. Which led to a quick quiz at the course. All the material presented from the classroom was on the quiz. There wasn't a question that came out of nowhere or something we didn't cover., which is a massive testament to how thorough the material covered was. Day 2 built on what we learned in Day 1. Nothing came as a surprise, well, other than the fact that you felt prepared for each new exercise. Leaning into a turn, swerving, emergency braking, they all lead into one another, and the progression felt very natural. Steven and Cesar lead the group with confidence, and by the final skills test, even though the nerves returned, everyone in the class did well! A few cone casualties but the class structure and progression prepared all of us for every exercise. I highly recommend this to everyone, I don't think everyone should end up riding, but this is an excellent way to discover if this is for you.

Fantastic experience: I would definitely recommend golden state Moto training courses. I am not a new rider. I came here for the driving license and I wanted to be more confident in my riding. I would say I did learn a lot! It was such a big improvement to me. They taught basic skills and pointed out my bad habit which may potentially cause hazard. I have four instructors: Mycah, Kyle, steven and Shayon . All of them are really experienced and knowledgable. They won't just read the DMV hand book to you, instead, they explained all the points crystal clearly. It's really impressive that Kyle answered all our questions about riding in a vivid way, easy to understand and keep to the point. He does ride well and teach well. All the instructors are super helpful and sweet. The only thing you feel is they are here to help you. You won't feel any negative pressure. I hope I will come back for intermediate lesson soon!

Fantastic experience: Took my beginner MSF course here and had a fantastic experience. My instructors Kevin & Cesar were great on the range and provided very useful constructive critique of our skills. Everyone left with feedback on what to continue practicing and how to become safer riders beyond the class and obtaining your endorsement. Both guys were humorous and really chill, but serious about their passion for riding and teaching others about safety. Don’t hesitate coming to learn here.

Fantastic experience: I could not recommend this place enough. I took the introductory training and it was worth every penny. It still is a long way to go for me, but I've learned a lot and gained a bit more confidence. Great group of instructors focused on helping students grow, develop the skills and be prepared. Their feedback was clear, actionable and on point. Kudos to the crew - they made the training a great and valuable experience. And by the way, it was a blast :) PS: Patience the instructors demonstrated dealing with my rookie mistakes was immense :o) Thanks - PK

Fantastic experience: I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who wants a solid training experience for riding a motorcycle. It’s tiring, it’s a lot of work, and it can be difficult. However, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t come out a better rider. It was a great experience, and I learned a lot. It’s clear that these folks want you to know what you’re doing on the road, they care.

Fantastic experience: Could not recommend enough. I took the Basic Rider's Course and had a blast. Mycah was very clear in the classroom sessions. She did a great job of explaining and extrapolating on the core information. I passed the written test with absolutely no problem, thanks to Mycah's superb instruction. On the range, Kevin was just fantastic. Teaching is an art, and Kevin is an artist. Lots of positive reinforcement and very close attention to the needs of each student. His directions were very clear, and he provided specific critiques to everyone that immediately made sense. His warm demeanor completely melted any nerves I felt during the exercises and the test. I have no doubt in my mind that I'll return to Golden State Moto to take their intermediate and advanced courses. I had such an overwhelmingly pleasant experience that I can't wait.

Fantastic experience: 10 out of 10 would recommend. I took the beginner CMSP course this week. My range instructor Kevin was patient, kind, highly knowledgeable, and used hilarious and helpful analogies to help me improve on skills and overcome anxiety. I cannot thank him enough. The class size was very small today (only 3 of us) so I was able to get a lot of individual attention, get all my questions answered, and pass the riding/written test for the endorsement all within 2 days. The zoom classroom instructor, Cy, was also a very effective, interesting and engaging teacher. If you are a novice rider or even just looking to sharpen your skills this is the class for you. The instructors are top tier.

Fantastic experience: 100% recommend any person wanting to get a motorcycle license to take this course. I was one of those new riders that did very well in the riding portion of the course, but flunked the skills test due to nerves and feeling the pressure during the exam. I passed the written exam at this time. It was a major bummer because I couldn’t get my M1 endorsement when I had planned. So I reached out to Kyle and he worked with me on a comfortable one-to-one session on a Saturday to gain more confidence in riding and to become comfortable with the course located at the San Jose Masonic Center Parking Lot. He additionally taught me some more advanced lessons within the time that I had paid for. What was really great is that I was able to take the test on the same bike that I had been practicing with the whole time. I soon passed the class the next week and received my DL389 quickly (paid expedited fee). The classroom training instructor was Issac who presented to our class virtually via ZOOM. He did a fantastic job and I learned a great deal about motorcycle riding and the greater challenges and freedom it brings to the road. Again, I highly recommend that everyone take this course, and if you are in the Bay Area, give Kyle a call.
