Motorcycle Safety School- West Seneca: Reviews
Negative experience: The female instructor was rude other then that everything is good
Fantastic experience: The instructors were very helpful and patient with everyone. Everyone was greeted with a smile. Very informative and fun riding.
Fantastic experience: Took the motorcycle 101 course (2 hours) then took the 2 day course. Can't say enough good things about my experience. Instructors were clear and direct, very knowledgeable and understanding. Very glad I took the course, it took me and a bunch of other people who had never driven a motorcycle, all the way to passing the license test, in two days. Thanks!
Fantastic experience: Even if you know how to ride it's good to brush up on your skills
Fantastic experience: Brand new rider took the MSS class in West Seneca to get knowledgeable about riding. Couch Rebecca was amazing. She took us step by step for each exercise and explained everything perfectly. I highly recommend this class for new riders and experienced one to refresh.
Negative experience: I ride a YZ 125. I took the BRC course to improve my tight maneuvering skills; I also wanted seat time on a 500 (preferably a cruiser), ultimately wanted my license and to feel more confident on the asphalt. I didn't accomplish anything. The Honda Rebel I rode broke; they put me on a Ninja 125(might as well have brought the dirt bike). The instructors offered very little constructive feedback as to how I should improve my skills. I didn't learn anything I didn't already know, the whole weekend felt like trial and error. I failed the test and don't plan to retest because I won't be accurately prepared. I’d consider a private lesson, but it's expensive, and the odds of getting an exceptional coach are slim.
Fantastic experience: We took the class first weekend in June and this is our first time out together but ive been out 3 times this week and i cant say enough about how much of the knowledge from the class stays with me even driving my truck ! Id give 10 stars if i could! Thank u so much Ryan & Rebecca (And the lady from our first day i forgot her name ♀️ lol) -Jen Ryan & Dawn Clark
Fantastic experience: First time rider. Coach Rob and Coach Ryan (Gump) were fantastic. Provided education and confidence. Would recommend them and the facilities to all.
Fantastic experience: I didn't ride last season, and was suggested by one of your awesome coaches (Coach Ken V) to take a refresher course to make sure I am ready for the road. I had Coach Kenneth Punnett. He was wonderful!!!!! There were only 3 people signed up for the BRC2-SP course. 1 didn't show, and one left early. I basically had a one on one. It was a great day! I learned what I need to work on, as well as build my confidence back up. I was not as confident as I used to be when I got back on the bike this morning, but after the course, and bc of my coach's direction, I feel so much better as as rider. I highly suggest taking this if you need to fine tune your skills, or if you want to get back to riding. It is definitely worth the money. Thank you Coach Ken and MSS !!!!!!!!
Fantastic experience: Took the BRC to get my road test waiver and had Tim as my instructor, he made the exercises easy to understand and made the entire course enjoyable and a great overall learning experience.
Fantastic experience: Very clean friendly and teaches well
Thanks for the 5-star review! Glad you enjoyed your course!
Fantastic experience: Awesome course !! I didn't want to spend the money but im glad I did . Our class had Rich and Edd and they were both phenomenal. They were both super patient and helpfull . 10/10 would recommend to anyone .
Thank you for sharing your experience, and congratulations on passing the course! We are glad that Rich and Ed’s instruction had a positive effect on you and are happy to have another safe rider out on the streets.
Fantastic experience: I've been riding motorcycles for 2/3 of my life. I took the BRC course 7/29-30 to sharpen my basic skills as well as have the opportunity to test for my license. All of the instructors were fantastic, upbeat, informative and patient. I will definitely recommend this course to others. Keep up the great work, MSS!
Fantastic experience: Just completed my Basic Ridercourse this afternoon with Rebecca and Brandi. They were amazing!! They’re great teachers and helped me pass my skills test on the first try. I highly highly recommend this school!
Fantastic experience: Son took this class this weekend. Instruction was great. The learning experience was great. The knowledge of the instructors was stellar. Highly recommend.
Positive experience: Teachers are nice some of the bikes are pretty awful though.
Fantastic experience: Great place to learn worth every penny
Fantastic experience: I had 2 different instructors (Rob and Niea) over the course of the 2 days, and both were very patient and very helpful. I am 50 and was way out of my comfort zone but these 2 had a way to bring down the stress and anxiety levels while bringing up the confidence level and your ability to ride. If you're on the fence, take the leap and do it!
Fantastic experience: Bought my first bike in February and decided to take the course to obtain the road test waiver. Venniea and Rich were pros and also had great chemistry. Had a blast learning the ropes from these two. When I wasn't laughing at their cracks and jokes between the two, I was comfortable with their criticism and corrections. I recommend these courses highly to anyone who rides or wants to see if it's for them. The entire class seemed to only improve the entire two days and to say the least was surprised how well I had done with the course. Night and day after only riding a couple months. THANX COACHES VENNIEA AND RICH!!!
Fantastic experience: I took the 3 wheel course recently. I am very glad I did. Brandi was great made us all feel comfortable. Was willing to answer any questions and took the time to make sure we understood the bike and the course. Thanks!!
Fantastic experience: My husband Sal and I (Sally) really enjoyed our experience with MSS in West Seneca, NY. July 2022. I, Sally then had a private lesson with Cindy Pope who was an amazing instructor. She new my weaknesses and helped me conquer my fears! Cindy is very knowledgeable on motorcycling and her teaching methods for myself were on point! She is a great instructor, and anyone having difficulty learning should seek Cindy out. I can't thank Cindy enough for her patience and helping me conquer my fears. With that being said, I am proud to say that I now have a motorcycle license! 5 plus stars for Cindy Pope!!!
Fantastic experience: There were a few different styles of bikes to try out, which I appreciated as a newbie. Ken was a patient and good-humored instructor. He made it clear that he wanted us to learn the skills. One guy dropped his bike a couple times, another kept stalling, another was afraid to get up to speed—the instructor took it all in stride and said we should make our mistakes here on a closed course and learn rather than trying to learn out in traffic. Great attitude! Five of the six of us passed the test for our license. The lady who didn’t pass was disappointed, of course, but she told me she already had an appointment to work more with the instructor on her own and try again the following week. He was nothing but encouraging with her. If you’re thinking about signing up, go for it. It was way more fun than I expected it to be.
Fantastic experience: Riding course was great and very educational. The instructor I had, Brandi Behling was very knowledgeable and helpful to everyone. Highly recommend anyone to take the course regardless of skill set.
Fantastic experience: MSS is superb! I registered for the Ultimate Package (Motorcycle 101, MSF Basic Rider Course & MSF Basic Rider Course 2). I've been blessed to have RC (Rider Coach) Niea for Motorcycle 101& RC Brandi for MSF Basic Rider Course! [My scheduled Rider Course 2 is in a month] RC Niea was really cool, direct, knowledgeable & personable. She made me feel comfortable & confident getting on a bike for the first time. I would highly recommend! RC Brandi was great! The course went very smooth. She was cool, down to earth, very knowledgeable, personable & was also highly endorsed by RC Niea. I thoroughly enjoyed the lessons & flow of the course. She answered all our inquiries, provided very valuable tips & took her time with each one of us. She rode each bike with ease, you can definitely tell she's a pro rider (we used 3 different bike styles + a scooter in our class)! Bc of her expertise, I Ieft full of confidence, passed my skills exam & finally 1 step closer to accomplished my teenage dream of riding on 2 wheels! I would highly recommend for any course offered that she instructs!
Fantastic experience: Backstory: Recieved the idea to take this course from a buddy who has been riding for a few years now. Since I turned 18, I have been anticipating the course, in the hopes of getting my motorcycle license early. Course Overview: Overall education wasn't bad by any means. Our course consisted of 2 classes. The first day was a 2 hour in-class lesson going over basics and principles of riding, and rules of the road, easy enough. After the lesson, it was out on the range for a few hours. You get to chose the vehicle you ride on. From miniature GROMs, to a few Benellis. Scooters, or a cruiser. Even a "hog rider" if that is more your style. I personally chose a Honda CBR300. There, you take baby steps to learn how to ride. The next week, we return to complete the last of the 14 excercises. Once the excercises are completed, it is onto a 5 part test. Yet again, simple enough. Thoughts: As someone who has been riding a dual sport for the better half of two years, everything came quite easy. But yet again, this course does it's job at teaching the newest of riders. As for the teacher, it is important to note the instructor. "Rider Coach Brandi" turned out to be quite literally the best teacher you could have for this. Very friendly and well-spoken. She was strict on the range, but very understanding. For a lack of better words, she is actually caring whether or not you are fit to be riding, or in need of more time to practice. Synopsis: Upon completion (and given you pass), you leave with a waiver/pass for a motorcycle license. This course is easily a great option for those looking to learn skills quickly and become a better rider. Please note the course is for riders of all skillsets. From newbies, to those looking to return to riding, or for people looking to get their license quicker. Thanks to the West Seneca MSS for having me. And special thank you to Rider Coach Brandi for her time. Good luck out there!
Fantastic experience: Definitely would recommend was great for getting my license waver are instructor Brandi was awesome
Fantastic experience: Took BRC 2 skills with Brandi. Excellent coach. She was very knowledgeable and consistent. She provided clear and concise directions and great demonstrations. Her flexibility and patience with the variety of rider skill levels is commendable. She very well could have become frustrated and dismissed some students but she worked with them with patience and respect. Highly recommend her as a coach and highly recommend MSS for all riders!
Fantastic experience: (This first paragraph is in reference to France Baker's review)First off I would like to say I took the course in May. Zero experience on a motorcycle. I had an instructor that was horrible in terms of yelling at students, demeaning students, not taking accountability for her own faults, and so on. She would rush students to get the practices as quickly as possible and stated " I want to go home early". After the first day I regretted going the second, I was in a horrible mood and do not do well under circumstances of being yelled at when taught. I crashed the bike and banged my head on a tree the second day and decided to cancel out because it was a horrible learning environment for me... especially spending 300 bucks for a instructor like this one. I am not going to do well with an instructor yelling at me and at everyone else, throwing her hands in the air, scoffing, and laughing at experienced or non experienced students. 5 months later I was dedicated to trying and getting my license again. I did not want to give up. I called and Carlos did a great job granting me a private lesson with Sue, and my money was transferred over for day 1 and day 2 to retake because of the incident. I went back and had a great time with Sue and Gin. These two ladies will give you the time, patience, kindness, and their years of experience on the road. They will not judge or demean in any way. They are straightforward and would like for all students to succeed the course, but also on the road. If you have zero experience on a bike they will surely give you the time you need, pointers, and recommendations. Absolutely DIFFERENT LEARNING ENVIRONMENT for the BETTER. I 100% suggest taking this course with these 2 ladies, you'll have a good time while learning and accomplishing your goal! My 5 stars are solely based on these 3 people that changed my outlook on MSS.
Fantastic experience: Even if you have riding experience it's well worth it to take a course here! The instructors were excellent, the facility is pristine, and the provided Harley Street 500 motorcycles were a nice surprise.
Fantastic experience: The day I bought my bike the dealer handed me a “Learn How To Ride, Ridemss.com” flyer and he told me it’s very helpful and may save your life someday and I couldn’t agree more because shortly after passing the course I avoided what could’ve been a terrible accident because I was paying close attention to a van that wasn’t paying any attention to me. The teachers are very professional and literally make sure you are a very confident rider before you leave there. I highly recommend taking this course it can seriously increase your awareness. Ty
Fantastic experience: If anyone is thinking of getting their license go here this course is worth every penny and brandy the instructor was so helpful and patient She's the best I'm so glad I took this course.
Fantastic experience: I am so thankful I took this course. Not only did it make me a better rider, the instructors I had were AMAZING! I had Coach Ken as the lead instructor for Sat & Sun. He has to be one of the most patient people I have ever met. He talks to you on a level so you understand, without making you feel any less for being a new rider. He speaks to you in a calm tone to help relax you, bc we were all a bit scared and stressed being newbies. Coach Ken WANTS you to succeed and be safe riding. If he needs to coach you on something , he will have you stop, and he will go over step by step what you need to do to improve. He is not degrading, negative...we had such an amazing time in class. The support was incredible from the other students, as well as the 2 instructors. We also had Coach Tim on Sunday.. He was also wonderful! Super nice guy, and eager to help you learn ...and wants to see you succeed. PLEASE make sure when you sign up for the class..you make sure to ask if Coach Ken is teaching the class. There was one coach there who was not even a part of our class who came over and was yelling at us... I believe his name is Rich. No reason to yell and scream at the students.. gets us nowhere, except for our heads in the sand... i 100% recommend this school.. It is a great learning tool. Coach Ken is the BOMB...KA-BOOM!- he is definitely an asset to the school and company! I couldn't have asked for a better coach and experience. Thanks Coach Ken!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! AWESOME SAUCE!!!!!!
Fantastic experience: It's was amazing never rode a motorcycle before and I got out of there riding like a pro haha. Instructors are very good and patient. You just have to follow everything they tell you and you be good to go!!
Fantastic experience: Had a blast, 2 day 3 wheeler course Brandi is one hell of a instructor has a lot of patience with everyone & everyone passed, would highly recommend
Positive experience: NO REFUNDS!!!!!!!! Took the course, passed, had a great time, but I had experience on a bike. With that said, I bought a gift certificate and the person I bought the gift certificate for had not been on a motorcycle before and easily flustered. Well, wrong course and instructor, they were dismissed after 3 hours. In fairness, they had others to train. Called school, no refunds, they offered "discounts" which we're not really discounts. If the person I bought the gift for wanted to pay another $200 they could schedule again. 50% off a private lesson (still $35 and hour). Could do an "on call", but not easy for working adults to be on call.... Be careful.....
Hello Greg, We would love to go over the situation with you. Please give us a call at 718-599-1079 and ask for Victoria.
Negative experience: The main instructor had no ability to teach and was extremely negative in an unproductive manner. It seemed the course was catharsis for the main instructor to constantly belittle every driver in the guise of improving "safety".
Dear Jonathan, please give the office a call at 718-599-1079 to discuss what happened and ask for Michael.
Negative experience: I was gifted four classes plus exam to learn how to ride a motorcycle at the West Seneca MSS. I had little experience and wanted a safe place with experienced instructors to learn to ride safely. After all it is called Motorcycle Safety School. I took the first half hour class with the female instructor that showed how to just start the bike and walk with it. My first full day class was with a group of about 12 students, all but three had lots of experience. During the first part of the morning session the male instructor was rude, impatient and degrading to me, the female instructor that was there went along with his behavior. After about two hours practicing with the rest of the students, I was told I was not learning fast enough and was told to leave class and not return. During my first two hours I never dropped my bike, I was able to shift, slowdown, maneuver around the obstacles and do the figure 8 around the course without stopping. He yelled that I was not fast enough and that my lesson was over. I said I paid for 3 full day sessions, he said too bad and I should go home on my bicycle and learn to go around corners. The school has a policy that if the instructors feel you will not advance fast enough for their liking they can remove you from any more classes without any refund, at their discretion. This has happed to multiple women that I know and would I would NEVER recommend any women to go to this school. I did write to the corporate office and spoke to a manager. He offered me 50% refund and a private class with a different instructor. I took the partial refund and chose not to go to the class because of the way they allow their instructors to treat their female students.
We are so sorry to hear that the course didn’t meet your expectations! Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that students can meet the course objectives in the allotted time. Some students need more time and we are more than happy to assist in making this happen! Our mission is to provide all students with a positive learning experience and along these lines we would like to try to make things right. If you are interested in letting us make it up to you, please call the office at (718) 599-1079, and ask to speak to Carlos. Again, we are very sorry that you had a poor experience and hope to hear from you soon.
Fantastic experience: Highly recommended. They are a little aggressive when talking but for good reason. Its better to drop your bike here than on a public road with a car tailgating you. Take it if you can. The cost is affordable when you think about your life being at risk.
Fantastic experience: Good place
Fantastic experience: Was scary at first and hard but totally worth it
Fantastic experience: Excellent coaching up there. I have plenty of experience riding. Took the course with my father and family friend and a good group of 8 others. They gave very helpful hints to everyone. I highly recommend this course for anyone wanting to learn. The past 2 days was an amazing time up there doing this. If MSS sees this thank you for all the positive feedback and tips. You guys are awesome. If the group of people I took the course sees this you guys were awesome. To the hot chick with blonde and black hair WOW lol
Negative experience: 5/2/21.. To start off I want to say I passed the class and exam fine on my first attempt (I had ZERO experience on a motorcycle). But this is my suggestion and honest review. For anyone who has NOT been on a motorcycle or knows nothing of driving a stick shift or a motorcycle, DON’T take this class. This class is NOT for beginners, the instructors have ZERO patience. I suggest finding someone who has a bike and is a good rider to walk you through the ropes and getting comfortable with shifting and using the clutch. The instructors that I had specifically one individual was constantly degrading and comparing your riding skills negatively to those who have had more experience then you. In one instance our instructor compared us to the next class that was going to start after my class stating “They are going to do better then all of you because you all kept messing and weren’t doing it well at all.” On the first day 1 person quit the second day 2 people did not show up. After one of my peers got injured the instructor HALF hastily jogged to her asked if she was okay, then during the course kept blaming the student for the incident that occurred. You aren’t given much time. My instructor on both days wanted us to hurry up so she could go home. She seriously said to hurry up because she wants to be out by 3 usually. The class is important to take you learn a lot even for experienced riders but should the instructors change? YES, ABSOLUTELY YES! (If you get the ones I had) If you have a bad instructor go to another class another day with a more constructive/encouraging instructor. I know my negative opinion of the instructors was not the only one. Talking to the side with my peers they all concurred that the instructors were bad and not helpful.
Dear France, we are sorry to hear about your experience and would like to hear more. If you would like to call us at 718-599-1079, please ask for Michael.
Fantastic experience: The basic rider course I took here was great! Not only were the instructors professional but they always made sure we had a good time while we were there. They made sure to single out everything everyone was doing wrong and take some personal time to help them improve the mistakes they were making. Niea was amazing she made sure everyone was paying attention at all times. And she wasn’t letting anyone leave without learning what they needed to be safe on the road!
Negative experience: Horrible negligent instructors. More clowns than teachers. Always trying to crack jokes. They treated me Horrible. For the record this is the first bad review I've ever left.
Dear Todd, please give the office a call at 718-599-1079 to discuss what happened and ask for Michael.
Fantastic experience: I would first like to say that this class was worth every penny. I enrolled to the class that was held out of JCC in jamestown and my instructor # 6286 was awesome she thought us well and really took the time out to make sure we was taking it all in and understanding what was being thought.. So for this i would like to give her my deepest Thanks.. Thanks to her im looking forward to getting to use my new bike and to use the skills that she hepled us acquire..
Fantastic experience: I took this course and started out scared, I left this course confident! Instructors Ken and Rich were so very patient and easy to work with. If your a beginner or a seasoned rider you will take something away from this course that just might save your life! Thanks MSS!
Fantastic experience: The staff are some of my favorite in the world. They're dedicated to keeping beginner riders and experienced riders safe and aware as much as possible. Not once did I feel like they gave up on me. Highly recommend this place for motorcycling.
Fantastic experience: They were great.. I never been on a bike before and was pretty intimidated but by the end of the 2 day course I was confident enough to get behind my 1600cc Harley
Negative experience: All I’ve seen out of my $475 was the 3 hour E course training on the Computer at home and a 2 hour intro that’s it because I couldn’t make it in one weekend because I work 50 hours a week that gives them the right to pretty much and steal my money and say you had to pay another $310 I asked to speak to the supervisor to try to reschedule and got nothing in return so I’m out $475 unbelievable that is sad that yous take hard working people for a ride they will never forget a $475 dollar ride something needs to be done about this yous just can’t take people for there money and try not to work with them or give them another chance at lease.
Hello! According to our records, your issue has been resolved. If this is not the case, please give us a call at 718-599-1079 and ask for Victoria.
Positive experience: I recommend only doing 1 Basic rider course and receive your waiver not the ultimate training package has duplicate classes. Other than that this gives you confidence to become a more comfortable rider.
Fantastic experience: I'll never forget what I learned here. Spreading the joy of riding is a great gift.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing class! Highly recommend this for beginners! Special thanks to Brandi and Ken with their Crystal clear instructions, demonstrations and their overall performance teaching about motorcycle safety. Learning from them gave me the confidence to ride a motorcycle without a single doubt in my mind!
Fantastic experience: Last weekend I took the 3 wheel course. The class had 6 participants ranging from zero experienced to a very experienced rider. I happened to be one of the inexperienced. I was nervous and unsure if I had what it took to ride a 3 wheel spyder. The instructor Brandi had her hands full with this varied group. Well she took on the challenge and was very successful. She taught all of us to ride safely. We learned to weave, swerve, quick stops, turning, and the safe operation of the spyder. We did have one issue in the class which was a student that did not follow direction, and was not riding safely. I was concerned. Brandi worked with her and it was apparent that she should not be on the road for her safety and the safety of others. Brandi very tactfully removed her from the class to ensure our safety. I was very happy to know that this instructor Brandi was on top of the situation and did the student and everyone ond else a service by removing her. Welk I passed and feel very confident that I will be a very responsible rider because if this class and Brandi.
Fantastic experience: Just a great experience, very informative,in two days you learn so much, instructor Stephen was awesome, helpful, and so much fun! So glad I took this class to get my bike license!!!
Negative experience: 1st off I would like to say that the motorcycles we use our faulty next I would like to say the instructors are very rude they make you feel uncomfortable And make you feel very nervous and a SINCE like one particular instructor likes to pick on people that he knows that are having a hard time I wanna say this place really hurt me pretty badd Rich is mean instructor 2 of my girlfriends took this course and had no ride experience they both cant BELIEVE you hire people like this man and I had other instructors that were a lot better than this guy Rich I will never take this course again at your location and I will definitely give rotten feedback to anybody interest it better off taking yet on the road with the DMV I've rode many hours before today
Hello, After speaking with you, we believe your issue has been resolved. If this is not the case, please call us at 718-599-1079 and ask for Carlos.
Fantastic experience: Great staff, learned a ton. 100% reccomended to anyone wanting to learn. I was so thankful I took this class the first time I got a bike on to the street!
Fantastic experience: Great experience. All the instructors are very knowledgable and care about your success. The skills learned left me feeling prepared for difficult situations on the road. Wish we rode off property in a more real world setting. Overall, will recommend to anyone wanting to learn how to ride.
Thank you for the kind words and glad you enjoyed the course!
Positive experience: Let me start by saying before I came here I’ve never been on a Motorcycle in my life so I had 0 experience. I signed up for 1 60 min private lesson & the 2 day basic motorcycle course that’s comes with a road test waiver for the DMV. All of the instructors are friendly & very knowledgeable & willing to teach you what they know. This is a great business & I would recommend to anyone who would like to learn how to Ride the safe & Right way but with that being said there were some things they could improve on for the 2 day course in my opinion. 1. The course has 12 students in total. For our first day we only had 2 instructors but the 2nd day we had 3 different instructors who was not there the first day. It would benefit the students to have 3 Instructors for both days gives better instructor to student ratio & if it could be the same instructors both days it would be cool. 2. The explanation of the clutch was very Vague. it probably was due to the fact that people were asked “who’s driven a manual before” & most of the people has except for myself & a couple others. But it would help people in the future for people-who’s unfamiliar to explain it more in-depth. 3. The explanation of the exercises before performing them could be better. The instructors have a handbook with all of the exercises along with explanation of them to read the students. The exercises take roughly about 5 mins to explain for each & some of them are complex. It would benefit the students to have copies of the exercises for the students to look at also because the explanation & the demo is very easy to forget especially if your the first one to go. But other than that if you go & it’s hot weather just wear a long sleeve shirt NOT. A jacket you will be very hot as you have to wear that, gloves, & he melt & boots. But if you want to learn how to ride this is a great place in the wny area thanks.
Fantastic experience: This course was awesome and the Instructor was great! Took it a few weeks back. Brandi I believe her name was did an amazing job. I would recommend this course for sure. The one in west seneca was very convenient as well. Perfect!
Fantastic experience: Mss was a great experience. In two short day they teach people who have never operated a motorcycle. The skills to safely operate a motorcycle on public roads, and receive there road test waiver. Only thing I didn't care for was that they never went off the property and onto a public road for real hands on experience. The best part is the bikes are all newer Harley Davidson street 500cc.
Fantastic experience: I had a great experience taking the Basic Ridercourse 2 at this location. The Ridercoach, Brandi, was very friendly, knowledgable and made everything easy to understand.
Fantastic experience: Great 3 Wheel Motorcycle training class. Gin was a pleasure as a teacher and her and Sue were great with the hands-on lessons. I went out and purchased a Spyder the very week.
Fantastic experience: I just completed my course this past weekend. I had the pleasure of having Ken as my coach at NCC and he was absolutely great. He is super knowledgeable tells you things you wouldn't even think about which was so helpful and patient as can be answered all my questions big and small. If it wasn't for him I probably wouldn't of been as confident. He went above and beyond in coaching us through the course didn't rush us at all gave us time in between to rehydrate as is was super hot and made sure we were all good before we started up again. He taught me more then I thought I would even need to know and am so grateful for it. Also he's super laid back he never once gave up or made me feel bad he just kept encouraging me to do my best and kept me laughing as well. In the end I walked away with the skills and confidence I need to ride safe. So seriously take the course it's so worth it. It's freaking awesome!!!!!
Thank you for the kind words and awesome feedback!
Fantastic experience: I had no experience riding a motorcycle or driving automatic and I was able to walk away from the BRC with a license waver and more importantly confidence I had learned the basic skills to ride a motorcycle out on the streets safely. Jerry is the best. They teach you how to ride and increase survivability in dangerous chaotic traffic situations. Highly recommend you take this course and get yourself into the world of motorcycling, you won’t regret it. One of the best investments I have ever made. Get riding!
Fantastic experience: Very beneficial class for experienced riders and beginners
Fantastic experience: This course was great for beginner to intermediate riders. All of the rider coaches were helpful, encouraging, and realistic about the real world. Steven is from England, and adds a touch of humor to his lessons. Brandy was very direct about what you’re expected to do, and was great at encouraging riders to be more confident. Rich was helpful, and added a touch of humor to his lesson as well. The best part of the course, is that it includes a road test at the end, gaining you your Motorcycle license. The staff was very professional, and I’m glad to have acquired the knowledge that I will always use on the road!
Fantastic experience: Great course to learn some new tips. Staff was awesome and very informative. They all want to help you succeed. The instructor that was from England was pretty damn funny too kept it entertaining and not boring. All the instructors that I had were great. I would recommend this course to any rider with no riding experience too experienced Riders
Fantastic experience: Best place for a new rider to learn the basics of motorcycle riding.
Thanks for the 5-star review! Glad you enjoyed your course!
Fantastic experience: I have the basic course 2 this Monday, and I hope it will be easy and nice as what the comments says lol
Fantastic experience: Attempted the MSF Basic RiderCourse but was "counseled out" (meaning they determined I didn't have the ability to do it, an assessment which I agree with as my balance is not very good). From what I experienced, the course was well put-together and the instructors were very nice and helpful. The bikes were newer HD Street 500s in good working order, and the instructions and course material were clear. Wouldn't hesitate to go here if I decide to try again.
Fantastic experience: Excellent experience
Fantastic experience: When I took this course I was very pleased with the reaults. The instructor I had was Brandi. She was kind, personable and treated me like a human being. She did have to correct a couple riders that were either doing the wrong maneuvers, or showed possible signs of being a hazard to themselves or other riders. When this she did it very professionally, and treated them like adults. She taught me a lot of pointers that I didn't know and will be implementing them out on the road. I would reccomend anyone that wants to get their license to go to MSS and learn there.
Fantastic experience: What an experience! More people should be taking these classes. So to start off, I waited until today (Monday the 29th) to write this to make sure the DMV accepted the Road Test Waiver, which they did. Where to start? I took the 2 day Basic Rider Course. August 25th and 26th, my class was rather small, just me and two others the 1st day, and 5 of us the second. The first day we had a lovely instructor by the name of Brandi. She was very down to earth and went over a bunch of stuff with us before we even went outside. Brandi was very concerned with safety, as she should be, and as such, after every single thing we did, she gave us feedback. She explained what we were doing right, and what we were doing wrong. She had feedback as we were on the course, before the course and after the course. She took the extra time needed to instruct us when needed. Toward the end of the day, we were informed we would have another instructor the next day, by the name of Rich. We learned he had much experience, and to take his experience and learn from it. I have to say, Brandi was a great instructor and I will be signing up for advanced classes because of her knowledge and ability to tell things how they are and take the time to show she really cares. The second day, as advised, we had a great guy by the name of Rich. You would think by the look of him, that he was a rough Harley guy. Boy was I wrong. Rich was not the type of guy to care about the bike, he was more concerned with Riding. He was a true Motorcycle Nut. And man did he know his stuff. Rich was right off the start, up front about his riding experience and told us not to worry, that we would all succeed today. Just like Brandi, he took the time needed for some of the riders to adjust, and get balance. As the day went on we all were able to navigate the rider course, few to no errors. Rich was overall a decent instructor, if not an easy instructor. My overall experience, if put into simple terms would be: Brandi seems to be the better coach, with more feedback about what you did right, wrong and how to correct said mistakes, she wants you to learn from any mistakes you make. She wants you to be safe and understand that motorcycle riding is fun, enjoyable and most of all, can be a lifestyle. Because of this, Ill be back to learn more. Rich seems to be very easy going, a true bike nut. His perspective seems to justify his more easy going nature. He wants everyone riding, and everyone did. Now to the things I believe could be improved upon: Overall, I think more simple control maneuvers should be incorporated. Some students found learning the clutch to be difficult. While I think the overall pace of this course was perfect, some students should be given a few extra lessons if needed, though time is a factor in most cases. Instructors: Brandi and Rich have both their own styles to teach. Brandi is very safety oriented, making sure we understood control, and space requirements of a motorcycle. She was very realistic about what she expected from us. I will be signing up for Advanced classes because of her safety oriented personality. Rich is an easy going dude, who has the love of riding built into his personality, as shown by his commitment to teach. Overall, this class and these instructors taught me the basics of riding a motorcycle, gave great feedback as we were doing the lessons and had our safety, goals and skill levels at the heart of what they were teaching. So, Thank you Rich, and Thank you Brandi for a great 2 days of learning!
Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure of completing this course along with 2 one hour training sessions taught by exceptional instructors Brandi and Richard. The two worked seamlessly together to provide solid direction and appropriate feedback which served to help build confidence and gain competency. Constructive criticism was quite helpful and allowed me to master skills in a step by step manner. I was particularly impressed with how well Brandi and Richard were able to zero in quickly on any student presenting safety concerns and correct them without issue. As a result, the course was a safe and positive experience for all students. I can't stress enough how pleased I am that I discovered MSS and, in particular, had the good fortunate of being schooled by these two professionals. I strongly recommend that anyone seeking to learn safe riding skills take the course and a 1 hour lessons with either Brandi or Richard.
Fantastic experience: The best way to go from bicyclist to motorcyclist!
Positive experience: My 1st day was pretty decent. I had Brandi and thought I liked her. Although thru out the day she kept making comments about the instructor we would have for day 2, negative comments. I never received my e course so when i got home that 1st day i had to spend 3 hrs completing that. As I was getting ready to go on day 2 I told my husband I was really worried because of the things Brandi was telling us about Rich our instructor for the day. Make a long story short all 3 of us that were in the class felt the same way about the 2nd day. As it turns out Rich was fantastic!!! What a great guy and great instructor. Well as our training on course continued Brandi came out to help. My day went so bad!! all she did was criticize me. No positive feed back or encouragement. I was fighting back tears the whole time she was there. I feel i paid $275 for the course because I wanted to, not because i had to, not to be treated the way she was treating me. I felt like a scolded child when she spoke to me. Rich on the other hand would say what you did wrong and how to fix it and tell you its ok you got this. Between the early 1st day & having to do the 3 hrs e-course when I got home and feeling like a complete 10 year old failure due to Brandi , I was so overwhelmed , mentaly exhausted and done. I did make a comment to Rich about Brandi and he seemed to stay by me. I didn't do well on the skill test which really upsets me. i did pass but barely. I did good in the training and really should have done better on the testing. Rich made the comment that he saw i was ready to cry!! Rich ty, you were the best. I highly recommend Rich. Stay away from Brandi, the other students saw it also. i plan on taking some lessons next summer from Rich if hes available. I will say it is a very good course. I recommend it to everyone even if you think you no all about riding.
Fantastic experience: Thank you to the instructors for your help and making the class fun. It's been25 years seen my last ride and the 2 day class was GREAT.
Fantastic experience: Great experience. 64 year old beginner and I learned how to handle the bike and road situations. I have been on the road and the knowledge I aquired has given me the confidence to ride. I strongly encourage riders to take a course.
Fantastic experience: Learned alot
Fantastic experience: Great instructors! As a new rider, I'm glad I made the choice to go through the course. It was well worth the money.
Fantastic experience: Just completed a class today there that instructors were awesome. Sue and Gin were amazing and patient and encouraging as well as rich funny guy and Kenny van apps. We rode on Harleys. Easy to use and highly recommend taking the course. My name is Gerard. And you won't regret it.
Fantastic experience: Totally worth every penny. Amazing instructors and very clean facility
Fantastic experience: Great experience great staff highly recommend this class for beginner riders
Fantastic experience: Couldnt have gotten my license without it!
Fantastic experience: I started with basically no knowledge of riding, and after two days of intense instruction with Ken and Michelle, I was able to get the endorsement and test waiver. Their focus on safety makes this a valuable course beyond just learning to ride. There were even a few experiences riders on my class of 12, and they learned done things. You learn basic techniques in a large parking lot, and after every drill the instructor gives you individual and honest feedback. It's completely worth the money you invest.
Fantastic experience: The coarse was a great experience and the instructors were Awesome!!! I'm a 41 year old female and this coarse took me from never riding a motorcycle to being able to ride confidently! Very very glad I decided to take this coarse. The motorcycles used in this coarse were a good bike to learn on , perfect size . I actually liked the motorcycle so much that I went out and bought a brand new motorcycle that's exactly the same model and I will continue my learning on this bike . Thank you MSS of west Seneca !!! (Ken & Niea), If you want to learn how to ride this coarse is the best way to go !
Fantastic experience: Thanks Sue and jame Great people :) I'm very happy
Fantastic experience: Absolutely awesome experience! Couldn'tve asked for better instructors...Dave, Rich and Mark. Great guys and excellent instructors..just walked out of there today with my license waiver! Highly highly recommend this to ANYONE who rides or wants to start riding. I'll be going back there for more courses for sure...
Fantastic experience: The staff at the West Seneca school was extremely friendly and professional, and the course was very informative. Can't recommend it enough.
Fantastic experience: At 57 yrs. old I finally decided to learn to ride a motorcycle. This course is by far the best way to do so, the coaches were awesome, very knowledgeable and extremely good instructors. This is the right way to learn so you don't pick up someone else's bad habits, the course not only teaches how to ride but also what not to do. I can not praise this course enough, if your thinking about riding take this course! you will not be disappointed.
Fantastic experience: Instructors, equipment and environment were all great. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: Had a Great time and learned a lot from the instructors ... they will work extra with you to help get you to pass the riding test .if needed.... . but you just have to put the effort in yourself to learn to ride to pass the Course .... this is the Best Place to learn to get the Basics of riding ... of course it's a whole new ballgame out there on the road .... Good Luck and stay safe on the road ...
Thanks for sharing!!
Fantastic experience: Classes were professionally taught. In classroom and on the bikes. The instructor was great he explained everything to us. I would recommend anyone who wants to learn the right way to ride safely to take this course.
We appreciate your recommendation!
Fantastic experience: I have learned new ways of riding, in taking curve's, turning, and avoiding. As a professional medic , of 27 years a lot of the accidents I responded too could have been avoided, I personally should have taken this course a long time ago. I would recommend this course a must for all riders. Believe me, you won't be disappointed, great riding all.
Thank you for your kind words and we hope to see you back for the MSF Basic RiderCourse 2!
