Positive experience: The good first: our instructor, Will, was 5 stats, ten stars if I could. I recommend this place solely because of him. Was super good, patient, spent 1on1 time when needed but kept things going well. Was incredibly knowledgeable and knew how to impart that knowledge to the class. The space was good, I had the evening class and the lighting was adequate if not great. I would still recommend going at night if you need that time slot. The bad: The gear they provide is pretty dang awful, especially the gloves. I'm telling you the gloves they give you for "safety" are literally dollar store garden cloth gloves that probably cost .50 cents. They are absolutely worthless. Highly recommend bringing actual motorcycle gloves, or any leather or more robust work gloves you own. The helmets are whatever, they work. The main complaint I had were actually the cones they use. The cones are very old and faded. This combined with the lines in parking lot also being faded made most of the drills difficult to see where exactly they wanted you to go. Despite this, I still highly recommend this place. But mostly for how good the instructor was.

Fantastic experience: Inspite of being a rider for over 40 years, this course was helpful in putting things in a perspective (which had become muscle memory and default riding mode). Trainer (John) was very good, attentive, informative and patient with new riders.

He knows how to give us as individuals and as a group, the instructions for the exercise and address all our questions and concerns. Exceed my expectations.

Fantastic experience: I would definitely recommend State Motorcycle Training. They were professional from the beginning. I signed my boyfriend up first in Riverview. I went to sign myself up (only sign 1 person up at a time) and Riverview was full. I spoke to them through the chat portal on their website and they switched my boyfriend to St. Pete so we could attend together. We both enjoyed it and learned alot. Carolann was a great coach. She is passionate about being a coach. She wants you to learn, but more importantly understand how to be safe at all times. She takes the time to help you understand where you went wrong and how to fix it. She will not move on with a task if she doesnt feel that everyone as a whole understands the task and can execute it. She is not afraid to call you out on your lack of safety (i.e. your helmet isn't on correctly). She will stop class if she notices it and make a point to tell you or ask the class to look at you and point out what may be wrong. She is about safety first, which is a great thing. From the first sign up to the end of the weekend with class, everything was smooth and very professional. I would like to thank them for everything. I would 100% recommend attending class here to get your motorcycle endorsement. The are very professional from signing up to class to the end of the class.

Fantastic experience: Eric was an absolute amazing instructor! He was knowledgeable, kind and patient. I really enjoyed being able to take the written instruction at my own pace, which consequently made the in-training road portion of the class shorter. The bikes had seen better days, which makes sense as I’m sure many people haven’t ridden, but the functionality (such as putting the bike in neutral) seemed harder on some bikes than others. About half the class had experience and going forward, if people ask, I would encourage them to get a little experience on a motorcycle or a dirt bike just to have a good foundation. Overall, I had a great experience and learned a lot!

Fantastic experience: Took the class in St Petersburg Saturday Sunday and I learned quite a bit. Class was set up at a good pace and the instructor was serious about our being safe and successful.

Fantastic experience: I was trained at st petersburg for 2 days . Our Trainer Carol had amazing motorcycle riding skills and she made sure that each one of us were on the same page . After the training ended I really got a lot of knowledge on riding motorcycle safely .

Fantastic experience: Carol Ann was such a great instructor. She was very patient and thorough. She seemed to see my stress and concerns before I even said them and she addressed them all. Definitely recommend a class and the instructor. And I passed.!!!

Negative experience: The instructor told me that “since my hand hurts, take pain meds or something before coming to the next class” i definitely won’t be returning.

Fantastic experience: Mike was a great instructor! Took his time explained the exercises well, made sure everyone could do them before moving on, and gave great coaching advice. It was brutal taking it in the summer but Mike made sure everyone was well hydrated and taking breaks as needed so no one overheated.

Fantastic experience: If you are like me and have never ridden a motorcycle, I highly recommend attending this class. I was super nervous going into it, but this course was fantastic. Our riding coach was Will, and he was very knowledgeable, encouraging and provided a fun and welcoming environment while teaching you some of the most valuable and necessary skills needed to be a safe rider.

Negative experience: George was my instructor for my Saturday-Sunday course. To leave on time is not a care for him. Saturday he stated we were behind after having way too many breaks causing us to leave an hour late. He then wanted us to come in early on Sunday. Now instead of leaving on time again, we are going to be leaving an hour and a half past the scheduled time. He does not seem to have time management skills which affect peoples lives outside of this course- childcare, work, etc.instead of 40 minute breaks and talking the entire time about irrelevant topics instead of setting up the next course he should be considerate about the paying customers time outside of this course or the company needs to change the start and end time for his classes if he cannot stay on time. -Matthew

Fantastic experience: I had the privilege of being instructed by an exemplary professional. Her expertise in motorcycle operation was complemented by exceptional patience and teaching prowess. She provided comprehensive instructions infused with years of invaluable experience, ensuring our learning journey was both accurate and safe. However, I must express some concerns regarding the other two instructors present during the training sessions. While undoubtedly well-intentioned, their effectiveness was hindered by a language barrier that left many of us feeling disoriented and unsure of the tasks at hand. Despite our requests for clarification, the response to "watch the demo" felt inadequate, as it did not address the communication gap we encountered. Furthermore, I observed a lack of proactive engagement from these instructors, particularly in contrast to the dynamic and involved approach demonstrated by the primary instructor. Rather than actively participating in the training process, they remained passive, even when opportunities for hands-on learning and communication were evident. In my opinion, enhancing the English fluency of the instructors or assigning them a supportive role that aligns with their language proficiency would significantly improve the training experience. Additionally, promoting a more proactive and engaged stance during sessions, akin to the primary instructor's approach, would foster a more effective learning environment for all participants. I offer these observations constructively, with the utmost respect for the dedication and efforts of all involved. My aim is to contribute to the ongoing improvement of the training program, ensuring its continued success in nurturing competent and confident motorcyclists. Sincerely, Rick Hayes

Fantastic experience: I thank Mr. Mike for his great instruction. I would definitely recommend this place for everyone regardless of your motorcycle experience. Even if you already know about them they teach you and correct any bad habits you bring. Very happy to get my license and his great dedication and patience to everyone alike.

Fantastic experience: This was such an enjoyable experience! Not only did it expanded my understanding and knowledge of motorcycles, and how the road works. But I also got to meet some really cool people. The instructors, Corey and Deb, made the class fun and made sure everyone did their best. They were encouraging and supportive of each and every person in the class. If you’re on the fence about taking this training course I’d say go for it, even if it’s just to meet some awesome like minded people.

Fantastic experience: I have been wanting to get my motorcycle license for years. When I finally decided to make it happen I found a plethora of options online. Sifting through my options I decided that State Motorcycle Training sounded like the best fit for myself and my sister. From the start they communicated well, answered any questions I had, and even helped me with a scheduling error. During the training course itself I found our instructor Corey to be so helpful, he communicated clearly, efficiently, and had a great sense of humor which made the class fun. We had a class of five which wasn’t overwhelming, and it was fun to practice in a group. So much thanks to Corey and Deb who also helped out and showed us demos to help us understand what to do. I would recommend anyone and everyone to get their motorcycle training and endorsement here with State Motorcycle Training, and I am so grateful for my experience with them!

Fantastic experience: Great motorcycle training school. I got my BRC completed at the St. Petersburg location and it was fun and I definitely learned a lot. The coach, Will, is a really great guy and he really cares about you completing the course. The groups tend to be small and if y'all are learning the concepts well then y'all get out before the scheduled end time. I would highly recommend anyone trying to complete their BRC course, to complete it here.
