Fantastic experience: Awesome dirt bike class for my 12 year old daughter and me to learn the essential dirt bike skills. Our family is new to dirt biking. This class gave me the basic knowledge on how to ride and maneuver a dirt bike as well as gave me the confidence that my daughter is skilled enough now to can hop on her new bike and ride. Jeff was so thoughtful regarding our skill level and needs and was super positive and passionate. I highly recommend this class to kids and adults wanting to learn how to ride. It was great too that we could ride on the dirt bikes at the academy and the drive from the Philadelphia suburbs was super easy.

Fantastic experience: I recently did the two day class at the Dirt Bike Academy and had a great experience. I had very little previous experience. I had Brett as my teacher and was paired with someone with similar experience and skill level. after many fundamental drills I was finding riding a dirt bike very difficult. After doing some more drills that were designed to build on one another I began to feel a little more comfortable. Brett's teaching approach was a big help as he was very informative, patient and encouraging. The last half of the second day we were riding trails and going up and down sizable hills. I would never been able to do that without the training I received at the Dirt Bike Academy.

Fantastic experience: Great experience. We had a small group of riders with mixed experience and Jeff and Brett did a great job of adjusting the class and lessons to best suit our needs. We were all preparing for an international off road trip in Asia and the advice on positioning / approach to obstacles / handling turns in the dirt / etc. were all spot on. We will definitely be coming back for some additional coaching prior to our trip in May. Very well run organization and the teaching is first rate. Thanks guys.

Fantastic experience: I'll start off by saying that this was a fantastic experience! I was looking to get my feet wet in off-road ADV style of motorcycling, coming from a purely road riding background, and I stumbled on the Dirt Bike Academy. They were relatively close so, after contacting them, I signed up! I trailered by motorcycle down. Jeff started off with some circuit/skill building drills on body position and techniques and moved into direct application on differing terrain, all at their training facility. The instruction was complete and spot on! I will definitely be coming back to work further on increasing my skills. As well, they offer tours that sound like a blast! Thanks very much gentlemen! This was a great weekend and I learned a ton!!!

Fantastic experience: They're great! Me and a couple of friends are preparing for an adventure ride in Spring. I grew up riding but haven't been on a bike in an unfortunately long time. Brett was a very patient instructor, I learned a lot of new tricks and by end of day was confident on the bike again. We plan on going back in the spring just before our trip to brush up again.

Fantastic experience: Signed my daughter up for the beginner class as she wasn't to comfortable on her 65. We tried helping her at home and it just wasn't working out. Found this school and decided to give it a try. Jeff was awesome. They made my daughter more comfortable and wanting to ride her 65. She even keeps asking when she can go back to take the next class! All around recommend this class. Small class can focus on each individual rider.

Fantastic experience: You are probably looking at all of these 5-star reviews and thinking “how is this even possible?”. When I looked up The Dirt Bike Academy a few months ago, I thought the exact same thing that you are thinking right now. I was even a bit skeptical - I mean, can a place really be THAT good? The answer is: YES and even more than that. I wish I could give more than 5 stars because even with a perfect rating, this academy is being undersold. Let me tell you about my experience. Myself, my wife, and my two boys (12yr and 10yr) wanted to learn how to dirt bike. But we were really intimidated with all of the lingo, equipment, etc - we didn’t know where to start. We also know it can be a dangerous sport, so we wanted to learn good fundamental so we can be safe. Luckily, I did some Google searching and found The Dirt Bike Academy. We wanted a safe place to learn (no judgment, no egos) and attain core skills to be safe and effective on the trails before we attempted going out for the first time. Once I reached out to The Dirt Bike Academy, Brett immediately put my mind at ease - he helped me select a good weekend, helped walk me through what equipment I needed (they supply the dirt bikes), and reassured me that it was a comfortable learning experience. Now that we are back from our 2-day beginner course I can say it was the best learning experience I’ve had in a really long time. The personalized coaching, progressive skill exercises, and positivity that come from the coaches (Brett and Jeff) are beyond compare. I had never been on a dirt bike before that first class day and now I am 100% confident that I can hit the trails and properly assess what I can tackle based on my current skill level. I am no longer intimidated and I feel confident I can ride efficiently and effectively. My wife and two boys also gained so much skill and confidence - which is mainly due to Brett and Jeff’s coaching style. Without a doubt “the coach makes or breaks the course” and Brett and Jeff are incredible coaches. My family and I have done a ton of “family experiences” and amazing trips over the last 10 years and this course is absolutely in our top 3 all time best experiences. If you’re on the fence about doing this - I recommend you go for it. It all that you hope it will be - and more! My family and I are already discussing when we can do our next two day intermediate course with The Dirt Bike Academy. Trust me, this experience is incredible.

Fantastic experience: We had the absolute pleasure of spending 2 days at the Dirt Bike Academy taking their beginners class. We got to experience 1 day with each of the instructors and could not have been more inspired, motivated, and engaged in the instruction. Everything was tailored to our experience level (zero) and so much focus was on how to safely ride and grow as a dirt bike rider. As a mom it was imperative that my children learn to ride correctly and safely before they began riding. This class absolutely exceeded my expectation as mom. The growth my children made was incredible, and I feel more at ease knowing all of the knowledge they have gained on how to safely ride their dirt bikes. My kids are excited to continue to practice riding dirt bikes and can't wait until the next time we can take lessons from Jeff and Brett at the Dirt Bike Academy! As my 10 year old said "Mom, you should give them 10 out of 5 stars!" and I couldn't agree more!

Fantastic experience: Did the one day course with my son for his 12th birthday. Jeff was a fantastic instructor. At he end of the day, when we went on the trail in the woods, all the points and drills from the day earlier made instant sense to me. I really appreciate the emphasis on safety, and in general the solid educational focus of this course. I feel this is very important for all riders, but especially for the younger ones. Most importantly, we had a ton of fun. Hope to go again soon!

Fantastic experience: If you are reading this review trying to figure out if you should try this - seriously, stop wasting time, and just sign up. Best decision you’ll make about adventure or dirt bike riding. Safest , most enjoyable learning experience you could hope for. Professional, top notch instruction which takes an intimidating sport and makes it accessible and customized to what you need. Jeff has an incredible knack for teaching and coaching. You’re not going to find better instruction or a more enthusiastic coach. He’s as excited to teach as you are to learn. Young, old, experienced, newbie - doesn’t matter. His enthusiasm is infectious. Fantastic experience: A group of friends and I who are pretty good on the street but need help on the dirt took the ADV class and we had a lot of fun! We have all taken different classes in our past and really enjoyed the relaxed nature of this class and worked out some bad habits as well. Fantastic experience: Jeff was a great coach in that he was able to see my strengths and weaknesses and help me work on the areas I needed work, but give me praise when necessary. I was used to riding street bikes and dirt bike riding was new, he was able to compare and contrast. I was the only student in his class, so it was plus that he was able to give me a more "custom" class and even extra activities. This class was well worth the investment and I highly recommend this class. I will refer my friends to this class. I am looking forward to taking his next advanced classes as well.

Fantastic experience: Wooooooow. My wife and i did 2 days of lessons from Jeff and Brett and it was incredible. We’re walking away so much more confident in our riding because we actually know how to ride offroad now. Both Brett and Jeff are expert coaches - giving you guidance just when you need it but also giving you space to figure some things out on your own. So thankful this exists and we cant wait to come back!

Fantastic experience: I took the two-day dirtbike foundations class with Jeff. I’ve been on street bikes for many years and the class was great for me, but Jeff was also able to make the same class accessible to two brand new riders who had 0 experience. In addition to great instruction, the equipment and trails were excellent. I plan to go back for the Adv class next and would recommend TDBA to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Had a total blast with Jeff from TDBA. My boyfriend and I joined a two-day beginner session for adv bikes and we learned so many new/practical skills. Jeff and the other attendees created a supportive environment that helped us all test out and push our skills to the boundaries. Fantastic experience: I am a woman in my 60's and have been riding on the road for 18 years. I've always loved dirt roads and purchased a small dual sport recently. I knew the techniques were very different and needed to find an instructor. I hit Gold with Jeff U and the Dirt Bike Academy. Prior to the training day, there were skills I knew I had to improve even on the road bike. As I went through the lessons, Jeff would patiently encourage and evaluate my execution. He would applaud when I 'got it' and help me understand what to focus on when I had a tough time with maneuvers. The entire time, Jeff was respectful, pleasant and non-judgmental. Everyone at the Academy was friendly and interactive. The vibe here was very upbeat and positive! Additionally, I was thrilled to get the personal tips and the practice exercises after returning home. I highly recommend this organization and will be coming back!

Fantastic experience: I would like to thank Jeff for the quality instruction and persistence to make me a better ADV rider. Fantastic experience: Just did my second session with Brett and I am a completely different rider from when I started. I am just getting back into the sport that I did as a kid. Being a father now I wanted to be as safe as I possibly can. I am so happy that I went this route. Brett went over everything from safety to little tricks to make riding easier and more enjoyable. Fantastic experience: My 11yo daughter and I had a father-daughter outing with Jeff. He paired us with another father-daughter and both girls were first-timers to ride any sort of moto. Jeff made it both educational and fun and was able to provide pinpoint suggestions so that we could all improve, regardless of level. Fantastic experience: Had a great two days with Jeff learning how to handle my 650GS off pavement. Skill training and feedback were excellent, and even with the hot days I really got a lot out of this training and feel more confident in what my bike and I can handle. The in-person learning and immediate feedback beats the hell out of watching YouTube videos, which I’d been doing all winter. Fantastic experience: I took the two-day Beginner Adventure Bike course and could not be more pleased. Jeff is an extremely knowledgeable and attentive instructor.

Fantastic experience: I was a little hesitant about signing up with the Dirt Bike Academy... I have 30+ of experience riding motorcycles. One of my last bikes was a Yamaha Super Tenere that I rode in the Pine Barrens a few times with Jack O'Connor's crew. My main fear was that the training would be alike an MSF course and we would be doing drills 90% of the time. I was happily wrong! Brett was my instructor and he could not have done a better job. He was knowledgeable, patient, skilled, professional and delivered a perfectly balanced blend of drills with practical application in single track. For example we would practice clutch work with steady throttle on the cones as a drill and then we would go to a hill and put it into practice going up steep hills with turns and logs on the way. It was absolutely fantastic. Brett was also very open to our suggestions for what we wanted to learn and he introduced a few skills based on our requests. After the time with Brett I not only had a blast but also feel much safer and better prepared to continue exploring the dirt... anybody has a dirtbike they are thinking of selling? Let me know! Fantastic experience: My son and I went together to learn how to safely operate a Dirt Bike. He wants to ride but also wanted me to ride with him! Neither of us really rode before! My son never used a clutch bike ever, within 20 minutes Jeff got him using the clutch and an hour later shifting! we had a great time, learned a lot and will practice these basic skills for a while and return for another course for more advanced training! thanks DBA for an amazing and educational day for us!

Fantastic experience: As a street rider of 5+ years, I've always wanted to get in the dirt. My buddy and I took the 90 min ride out from Brooklyn for the Dirtbike School, which is an accredited MSF course. Jeff was an awesome, friendly, helpful instructor. The course was a little tougher than I thought, as you really have to demonstrate good habits through repetition but once we got the hang of it, it was a blast. At the end, we got to do a little grass/dirt trail sprint which was totally exhilarating. I'm hooked. I'll definitely be going back to develop my offroad skills, either with a ADV or larger dirt bike of my own.

Fantastic experience: After many years of riding dirt bikes, I decided to obtain formal training to ride a big ADV bike. In one day I learned what I needed to practice and excel to improve. Jeff is a great coach and teacher of basic and advanced off road skills and I had a lot of fun doing it! I highly recommend to get training from The Dirt Bike Academy! Brett far exceeded my expectations. Not only is he kind and supportive but he is extremely patient and truly gives you one on one coaching! I was very nervous to take this class, I have always had a deep desire to ride dirt bikes and having a background in street riding and quads when I was a kid while helpful still made me extremely nervous. Brett really put those nerves to rest and boosted my confidence 1000 fold! I signed up for the 2 day class and I’m really glad I did. I have only taken day one so far but plan to take the second next month. I left feeling happy I had a second day coming to help home my skills. So if you’re trying to decide on one or two days I highly recommend 2 days! I could go on and on but the gist is, DO IT! Brett is awesome you won’t regret it!

Fantastic experience: If you want to learn or even learn more, this is the place to go! I went to The Dirt Bike Academy and had never even sat on a dirt bike before. Jeff had me up and riding in literally no time! In just one lesson, he taught me everything I needed to know to get on my own bike and take it out. He explains everything in detail, then shows you how to do it, and then has you do it on your own while instructing you all the way through. I drove 2 hours for his class and it was most definitely worth it. After I've had time to learn a little more on my own, I will definitely be going to a more advanced class!

Fantastic experience: If you want to learn how to ride a dirt bike, or you are new to motorcycles entirely, the Dirt Bike Academy is the place to start. Jeff has a lot of knowledge to share and is a natural teacher.

Fantastic experience: The instructors and I went back-and-forth on how the course should be run. This normally won’t be the case, but I have close to 20 years of street, racetrack, and dirt experience. Now don’t get me wrong, I am far from a dirt riding champ! However, point being, there’s a lot that I still need to learn. The instructors were concerned on whether or not they would be able to teach me, or students like me, in a way with materials that were relevant. So right off the bat, their attention to detail should be commended. During the actual course, I was lucky enough to have an instructor to student ratio of 3:1. This was mostly due to the time of year that I did it, but the results were worth it. These guys approach the topic of teaching with professionalism and patience in a way that I have not experienced with other riding schools. These folks approach you as a peer, despite varying levels of experience. If you’re honest with yourself, and the instructors, you can have them focus on areas where you need improvement. The ability to fine-tune the curriculum is something that should not be understated. I walked away with the ability to focus on two or three core skills where I need improvement. That was totally worth it to me, as it’s all about developing a lifelong approach to learning and improvement. With any luck, I’ll return in the spring with my kids.

Fantastic experience: Had a great time at my class with Brett Amdur. It had been too long since I had been riding and Brett went through all of the fundamentals crucial to having a fun (and safe) time on any dirt bike. Would highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Best introduction/training for dirtbikes ever. My 9 year old son recently decided he wanted learn how to ride dirtbikes. Having never ridden myself we had to do some research and find an instructor who would be able to show him the very basics of the sport. We arrived alittle early to make sure we able to find the location, Jeff was already there with the bikes out and ready to go. Jeff is one of the greatest instructors I have ever seen. He worked so well with my son. Going over saftey, how to get on and off the bike and showing him how to properly adjust his gear before he taught him how to even start the bike. Jeff was extremely encouraging in times where my son was a little nervous. Jeff knew how to push my son to his limits without crossing the boundary. Each lesson was a milestone for him and I could see his confidence growing which each lesson Jeff would teach him. He went from not knowing how to ride at all to riding in Jeff's coned in course proficiently and changing gears in the matter of hours. Jeff is a plethora of knowledge of the sport, he is a very good mentor, and enjoys watching his student overcome and succeed with what he teaches. I highly recommend Jeff for someone who is interested in learning how to ride. We will be going back to him for further lessons, seeing as my son enjoyed his class so much and is looking to learn from the best.

Fantastic experience: The whole family (four of us ranging in age from 14 to 62) spent a fun, wonderful day at TDBA. Brett, our coach, was a great teacher. He was clear, patient and welcoming. The drills and instruction gave us confidence to start riding safely. I highly recommend Brett and TDBA for anyone looking to get started on a dirt bike. Brett clearly has a passion for riding and for teaching and it makes for a terrific experience for student of all ages.

Fantastic experience: Top-line, I highly recommend The Dirt Bike Academy to anyone looking to be a better rider. I took the adventure riding course because I recently bought a KTM 890 Adventure. I had several years of street riding experience but needed to gain off-road riding experience. By the time I finished the course, I had control of the fundamentals of off-road riding. Jeff was my instructor, and he was great. He was patient, calm, encouraging, and able to present the lessons naturally and precisely. He gave me a ton of practice advice and showed me riding techniques that I can work on perfecting for years to come. The Dirt Bike Academy is also building a community of riders, so when you take a course from them, you get instruction and tap into a new social network of motorcyclists. I'm looking forward to riding with this group and hitting the roads, routes, and trails with my new adventure bike!

Fantastic experience: Attended Jeff's ADV training day in mid-September. I was able to draw on several of the major points that Jeff had covered in class while on a 2-day ride a month later - and it made a huge positive difference! Jeff was super supportive, covered all of the necessary details, and worked to address what each of the participants needed to improve their skills. An absolutely worthwhile endeavor!!

Fantastic experience: Jeff was an excellent educator to my son for his first dirt bike class. He took the time to review all safety precautions and gave excellent feedback my son could take with him everywhere he goes. We will definitely be looking into more classes with Jeff some day.

Fantastic experience: This is actually the third place that I have tried for beginner off-road instruction, and I liked the Dirt Bike Academy the best of the three. The range was generously sized so you could really get the bike set up and aimed comfortably before starting each exercise. Jeff also trimmed out some of the MSF super-beginner stuff (like walking around the bike while balancing it) and we got right into riding techniques. That was great because we weren't half exhausted before the bikes even got moving. He also allowed plenty of time for each exercise, so for once I really GOT IT. I'm definitely a slow learner (obviously, if I have tried this three times!) and my body-position awareness is pathetic, but I was able to practice each exercise to the point where I was actually doing things right and I was comfortable with what the bike was doing. Once we had the basics, Jeff happily discussed fine points like mounting and dismounting in the woods, turning the bike if you get stuck on a hill, and stuff like that. If you already know how a motorcycle operates and want to get started off-pavement, the Dirt Bike Academy is a great teaching facility. And they also have higher training levels available, once you have mastered the basic course. (Check the website, they might also teach the most basic MSF course for those who have never ridden before.)

Fantastic experience: My husband surprised me with lessons for my birthday and let me tell you, it was well worth the 2 hour drive. This has always been something I’ve wanted to learn, and Jeff was the perfect teacher! Super knowledgeable about all things dirt bike with a focus on safety. He shared so many tips and so much advice about off roading that we feel very prepared. Now we just need to buy bikes of our own!

Fantastic experience: Jeff and Brett were great! I had ridden some off road but mostly street on a big ADV. I brought by dual sport KTM EXCF 350 to learn the ropes for being on slippery stuff. The skills we progressed through were well thought out, well taught, and progressively harder. The coaching corrections and support from Jeff and Brett were spot on. They later took me to a steep hill and into the woods to put those morning skills to work. Not some chosen path but truly unexpected territory and on stuff I wouldn’t have chosen to do myself but applying the techniques and seeing Jeff lead made it doable (though not easy). While I still need to practice, practice, practice to build confidence off road, I know what to focus on now and already have a much better understanding of what the bike is capable of. And it has already improved my on road skills too. Can’t wait to improve and go back for more training!

All in all this was an excellent day learning and can't wait to use the knowledge gained today! Fantastic experience: Jeff is a superb coach and trainer. I arrived with a 2023 Triumph Tiger 1200 to take the basic adventure bike course. Although I've ridden for fifty years, I was less (an understatement) than confident on the tall, heavy adventure bike. Following the safety briefing and course overview, we got right to work on skill development. Within an hour, my confidence soared. By the end of the hard, fun day of training with Jeff, my confidence had returned and I felt ready to tackle New England's BDR and other off-road adventures. Fantastic experience: What a great experience The Dirt Bike Academy is. I have 50 years experience riding street bikes. I am planning a ride on the NEBDR and after riding just a small section realized I will not enjoy riding this route if I don't learn more about off road riding. Jeff is a great instructor. He first had us doing some very basic riding around a simple course he laid out. From there it was a step by step process building on one technique after another. By the end of the day I have learned enough to know how to get through the BDR, but more importantly I now know what I need to work on. Jeff showed us what to practice. Taught us how to prepare our bikes for off road riding and how to prepare for BDR trips. I recommend The Dirt Bike Academy to anyone looking to improve their skills at any level. I hope to continue training with The Dirt Bike Academy in the future.

Fantastic experience: What a great time! We got that feeling right from the start, as we pulled into the parking lot there was Jeff, helmet on, sitting on his bike, greeting us as we turned in, ready to go! As first time riders (my daughter and me) Jeff got us both up and riding within the first 30 minutes! Before I knew it we had the bikes into 2nd gear and were standing and weaving in/out of the whole course. Things progressed nicely from there as by end of day we were able to take it up a notch with some great natural terrain and (my daughters fav) pop it into some higher gears for some pretty good straightaways . I want to thank you Jeff for showing us EXACTLY what to do/how to do and making it all so easy. You are a real pro and your whole course covered so much more than we even anticipated.

Fantastic experience: My son and I had an even better then expected time. It was both our first times riding and Jeff help to explain everything easily. Show us examples by doing the skills himself . And was patient with my son who is 8 and was very excited to ride. I’d definitely recommend to anyone who wants to learn or learn more about riding.

Fantastic experience: At 61, although excited to learn a new sport and get outdoors in a different way, I had some trepidations. An initial phone call with Jeff and listening to his passion and care made me feel much better. But once I got to the property, met Jeff in person and began the course, I knew going to The Dirt Bike Academy was a great choice! Never having gone off-road and having sold my street motorcycle two decades earlier with the birth of our daughter, I signed up for both Dirt Bike and Adventure classes. These two days were unbelievable - fun, fun, fun and more important, super educational and I feel WAY more comfortable and confidant on the bike. Jeff is super interesting and fun, which is great, and combine that with how accomplished and knowledgeable a rider and coach he is, and you have an environment which is perfect to learn and grow. The days were a fantastic blend of fun and focus. Brett, a teammate of Jeff's, joined us for the second day, and their insights and tutelage was literally priceless. Very, very happy I made the choice to go to the Dirt Bike Academy and given their experience and knowledge with Adventure cycling, I know I will be in touch with them for pointers, advice, rides and more!!! Do it cause you will not regret it. The weather had it raining but dirt bikes are meant to get dirty .

Fantastic experience: Great location, great instructor, and everyone involved came out with a great mindset. Learning how to handle my '88 KLR650 on dirt properly gave me a good insight into how much I didn't know about riding, and gave me the confidence to chase after more. I will be signing up for his Advanced ADV rider course when it's available. I would recommend this course for anyone who has no dirt experience, and a day to burn. Even if you're not going to ride on dirt, a lot of these techniques can be utilized on the street for additional stability in case you run across any loss of traction events.

Fantastic experience: Jeff is a fantastic instructor. I worked with him in a small class at a women’s dirt bike camp and he made my first time on a motorcycle a great experience. Jeff has a knack of being able to teach each student the way that works for them. Many months later when I got my first dirt bike, I went to Jeff for coaching. I was lucky enough to get a 1-on-1 experience and it made a huge difference in my confidence and skills. We worked on each skill until I got it.. this man has patience. Fantastic experience: I reached out to Jeff to get his suggestions about which class would work best for my situation. I ended up taking the dirt bike class first and borrowed one of his motorcycles. We had to reschedule, but it wasn't an issue becuase Jeff has great communication and responds quickly. The course was informative and Jeff provided tips to improve technique and provided positive reinforcement throughout the day. I had already been riding street motorcycles for 16 years so I had some habits to break. The best part of the day was after completing all of the lessons, we got to explore the grounds including riding around an abandoned golf course. I'd highly recommend Jeff's lessons to anyone wanting to brush up on old skills or learn new ones. Thanks again, Jeff!

Fantastic experience: My kids had some riding experience but no formal training. Jeff ran a class for my kids after which I immediately saw a significant improvement in their riding. The kids also said that they thoroughly enjoyed Jeff's teaching style which they found fun and patient. We will definitely take more classes from him.
