NOLA Riding Academy: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Royal Enfield INT owner (nice, reasonable, and heavy). I was thinking about moving up to a sport bike. I just didn't know how I would like it after just one test ride. Came across Nola Riding Academy and their sponsored Track Days. Rent and ride a 300-400 cc bike around the track bike! Totally worth it! I now have a new hoppy! Everyone was super friendly and I picked up great information about bikes and what to look for. The instructors kept everyone safe, and happy and made me a better rider on the track and on the streets.
Negative experience: Don't waste your time. Was looking forward to this experience but was greatly disappointed in their professionalism. Your fee is supposed to include an course to accompany the riding portion. I followed the instructions on the academy website and wasn't receiving the email with link that was needed. Life happens,I get it. But the problem is I reached out through multiple emails and numerous attempts to call with absolutely no answer over the course of week. When I was finally able to get a text from someone, I was meet with smart and sarcastic comments. I'm just glad I figured these people out before I got to the class. Now I get to give my money to someone who will actually care about their students. 3 months to reply doesn't leave a very good recollection to the experience. Also his many assumptions about me of course slighted in his favor. I was fully versed on all requirements accordingly to the site. My frustration is rooted in his complete lack of communication. I received the simple link but it was no loading. Yes, tried multiple times from multiple devices weeks before the course. This online course is required to be completed before in person class. As my appointment was coming close, I simply tried to reach out for assistance with what I thought was a simple problem. Over the next two week, I tried to email him. Waited a few days, still nothing. Tried calling, nothing. When I finally got a respond, I was meet with the high and mighty attitude you see in his response. I was the one that asked for a refund. But those kinda mistakes in his story are bound to happen when you give the story 3 months to evolve in your head. I'm sure he's knowledgeable and runs a good course but if you need help outside the classroom, don't expect much unless you like being ignored and attitude.
Well this was not a very nice review, and although I wanted to ignore it, it just keeps popping up.. I will say that after I spoke to this individual I did not want him to attend my school and quickly offered him a refund. Motorcycling is a fun but serious endeavor it's not meant for everyone and there is no guarantee of passing the class or being safe while riding after graduation. Your fee guarantees you a spot at class that is all. IF you get to class without gear, or do something the instructor deems unsafe it's goodbye. There are no entitlements here, if you pass my school you have met the standards and we will offer further opportunities to you so you can become an expert rider. IF Shea had read the online portion before signing up he would have seen that there is a link to a free riding course. I do not provide a free course just a link, and it's the first step I have installed to see if the rider is going to follow rules and use good judgement (read and follow instructions). If Shea had read the website entirely and read my reply to his one email he would have seen that I said we would discuss this on the first day of class. However in his mind I owed him more than this which began with a barrage of phone calls on a Saturday morning while I was on vacation. I auto text replied I was unavailable which was met with an angry entitled reply. At this point I no longer wanted him at my riding school because to me he was going to be a liability. Case was closed in my mind, however not in his. which is why I get a review like this.... Unwarranted as well as factually untrue. It is obvious to see this is an individual that felt slighted, and although I'm sorry for his feeling being damaged, (not my replies to him) that you will also see all of my other reviews are positive. Please take this into account, when reading this review.
Fantastic experience: I recommend, very helpful and a great school/instructors
Fantastic experience: took the gulf port class and Matt was an amazing instructor couldn't have asked for better!! the water was turned off at the location though so no bathroom :/
Fantastic experience: Super fun go kart track! Came here for my bachelor trip and it was a great time. It is a bit of a drive from downtown, but well worth it.
Fantastic experience: I would recommend them to anyone. Clint, Joe and Angel were all very helpful and thorough. Also, they have many bikes of different sizes and power levels so no one should feel intimidated.
Fantastic experience: Excellent race track had a lot of fun
Fantastic experience: Did not participate only went through the parking lot at Nola Sports
Fantastic experience: I watch these guys run their program. Outstanding attention to detail.
Fantastic experience: I attended the three wheel class in Gulfport this week. Had all types of bikes years ago but, am moving to three wheels. The course was focused on safety as was the instructor, Clint, the owner of NOLA Riding Academy. Not only was it educational but, it was a lot of fun.
Fantastic experience: Lots of fun! Good times. Always remember southland dodge in Houma are thieves and liars and crooks!
Fantastic experience: I had not been on a bike since 1983 and with Matt's coaching was able to not only get back some precision to my riding, but, learn the why, how and when of riding. If you want to learn how to ride, this is the way to do it. Riding is a dangerous sport and if you want to learn the correct way to do it by professional trainers, then you need to use NOLA Riding Academy. It is an experience worth every penny!
Fantastic experience: NOLA Riding Academy should get 6 stars. Clint Austin runs a first class operation that trains motorcyclists and is keeping bike culture alive at NOLA motorsports park. He is an avid rider himself and his dedication to the sport is commendable. I fully recommend him and his instructors if you need your MSF course and motorcycle endorsement. And his track days are well organized and an excellent way to safetly explore the limits of your motorcycle.
Fantastic experience: Stunningly beautiful establishment, great staff, best time I've ever had. Hooked for life!
Fantastic experience: Great place for the NOLA Ruff riders
Fantastic experience: Great experience completing the Basic Riders Course with Clint and Angel! After not having been on a bike in over 20 years, it was great to get back on and ride in a safe, fun, and exciting environment. They had a wide range of bikes to ride too (Kawasakis, Yamahas, Hondas, etc). They gave us opportunities to ride them all on the course to try them all out - a major help in figuring out my upcoming purchase. You def won’t be stuck riding boring bikes here!! If you’re looking at choices for where to take the MSF BRC, or have been thinking about doing it but haven't taken the jump, look no further than NOLA Riding, you’ll be glad you did.
Negative experience: Been trying to reach them concerning my msf certificate for over a year now with absolutely no response. I have tried Facebook, email, phone and I am about to drive the over 100 miles to there in person. I am royally irritated. I was one of two students in the class to make a perfect driving practical score and it was during covid so I had to do the class work online. It was impossible to get the classwork for free as the instructor said it would be so I sucked it up and payed $20-$30 for the online triumph msf class. The teacher (larry) just said to call and they’ll give me an email to send my certificate to. Its a year and 3 months later and no Avenue has worked. Do not recommend them at all.
Well Bluebird Powers you have my attention. I will answer back publicly since this is the avenue you chose. First of all I have never had anyone registered for any of my classes named Bluebird Powers. Contact me with your real name if this is a pseudonym. There is a slim possibly this can be resolved, although unlikely after this unwarranted review. First of all the coach you mentioned is no longer with us, so I’m not sure if this rant was directed mostly at him or not but that’s a fact, so I can not speak for him. However I’m glad you found a way to let off some frustration. Secondly the E-Course is free, if you used the triumphrider link. If you decided to pay for it the cost is $19.99 so when you “sucked it up” I’m not sure who you overpaid. The e-course needs to be completed within 30 days of the class date and should have been turned in upon arrival at class. I’m kind of vague on who or what you are trying to email because had you turned it in you would have received your graduation certificate package upon completion of class. Third we do riding tests (ride motorcycles / drive cars) so if you received a perfect score on a motorcycle it would have been during a riding test not a driving test. Lastly safe and responsible motorcycling is all about personal responsibility and good judgement I’ll expect to see some of that when you follow up and actually explain what exactly is the issue? I’m honestly unclear at this point. Was it money? Was it that you couldn’t find an email to mail off your certificate off to, or that your just irritated and wanted to vent? I will be in Avondale this Friday if you would like to come to resolve this face to face. Other than that you can find my upcoming class schedule online.
Fantastic experience: I recently took the course with Angel, Nelly. And Clint. They were nothing short of absolutely amazing. They're highly knowledgeable, patient, and encouraging! I had a few mishaps during the training (but never dropped the bike. Lol) that I was able to correct through the emergency situation training I had received from the coaches. I cannot recommend taking this course with them enough! Oh, and if you want your certificate sealed to take to the DMV upon "graduation", do the E-Course beforehand. Otherwise, it will be mailed to you at a later date when you present it to the coaches. Anyway, they're awesome. Do it.
Fantastic experience: Had a great time.
Fantastic experience: Very through. Very knowledgeable. If you're looking to ride, take your classes from them. (Ps. Riding in the fall/winter is better than the summer!)
Fantastic experience: Great place to have a fun run
Fantastic experience: The instructor was truly a professional, so glad I took the course. If your new to riding I highly encourage you to take the course.
Fantastic experience: Clint and Angel are top notch instructors and good people
Fantastic experience: Really a great place to go
Fantastic experience: Staff are great. Clean environment and fun track.
Fantastic experience: Thank you Nola Riding Academy, we had a great weekend in Gulfport with instructors Angel and Larry. They were very helpful to new and experienced riders. It amazed me that some in the class of 9 had never ridden before, they were able to teach them from scratch. Basically, if you can balance a bicycle you can ride a motorcycle. Thank you again, I look forward to the intermediate riders course when it's available!
Fantastic experience: Awesome track and fast cars. The customer service was great. A little expensive for a 10 min ride but oh well
Fantastic experience: The class is structured in a way that allows you to learn a lot in a short amount of time. It was a lot of fun, as well. The instructors were top notch.
Negative experience: Wait time didnt add up to my race time slot. I booked two races for 5:30pm it took 2 1/2 hours for my racea to come up. Also races are not in chronological order
Michelle you are talking about the go carts at Nola Motor Sports Park. You left this review under Nola Riding Academy which is a motorcycle riding academy we have nothing to do with the go carts. We are a completely different company that has nothing to do with Nola motorsports Park. Please update this review.
Fantastic experience: The instructors, Larry and Angel, were knowledgeable, encouraging, professional, and most of all..very patient. They ensured that the students were comfortable with the machines they were on. If a student was struggling with a task, they went above and beyond to figure out how to reach said student which created confidence in the student, leading to success. No one was rushed or pushed pass their comfort level. I highly recommend NOLA Riding Academy.
Fantastic experience: The MSF class was great for beginner riders. The 2 instructors, Angel and Larry, were excellent teachers who showed patience with those who had no riding experience. They kept students engaged at all times and clearly explained exercises and provided demonstrations before each segment. Highly recommend taking the class!
Fantastic experience: The course is structured to get one comfortable handling a motorcycle for novices and to learn the basics of motorcycle safety. Angel and Larry are great. They are very patient and attentive. I highly recommend this course, even if one is a more experienced rider.
Positive experience: We had a great time.
Positive experience: It's fun if you are looking for something to do!
Again we are not the go-karts at Nola Motorsports Park, we are the motorcycle riding academy.
Fantastic experience: Lots of fun watching the carts. Long 2 days and 1 to go. Awesome facility Lots of fun
Fantastic experience: Absolutely outstanding! From the moment the class started I felt welcome and comfortable. Angel and Larry are the best instructors! They made me feel confident about riding. It was never a moment when they got frustrated or aggravated with anyone in the class. Our entire class passed and got our certificates because of their expertise! They both are very knowledgeable about everything and they genuinely want to see each student do well. They asked us constantly how we were feeling and made sure that everyone was confident in themselves. I am looking forward to the intermediate class because I know once they add that class I will gain even more knowledge from these 2 instructors!
Negative experience: Went here to ride the go carts. After trying to contact them by phone for two months with no reply, I sent them a text message....again NO REPLY. Their website said no pre payment just come and ride. When we arrived at 1:15 ...ELEVEN ADULTS, we were told they were booked until 7pm with birthday parties! Upset, I talked to someone who said the woman who was supposed to answer was fired because she dropped the ball! (That's a pretty weak excuse!) When I asked why no one else "picked up the ball?" All I got was a pitiful "I'm sorry" Too bad....it's such a beautiful facility with poor management! I won't waste my time going here again!
Nola riding academy is not associated with the go-karts we are a private motorcycle riding school.
Fantastic experience: This is a blast we keep going back we are making this our regular thing .staff is amazing.
Fantastic experience: This "IS" the motorcycle riding academy to go to for your MSF certification. They have smaller bikes for smaller folks or folks that might be a little more uncomfortable on a bike. The coaches are ALL extremely supportive, knowledgeable, PATIENT, FAIR and super savvy. Owner Clint goes way out of his way to make sure you are happy and that you get what you need. My sombrero off to instructors Glenn, Larry and Angel. Phenomenal people that made my experience one of the finest in my entire life.
Fantastic experience: Nola motorsports definitely recommend Adam was awesome very knowledgeable.
Fantastic experience: Great Can Am class, instructor is very Informed and hes also a great riding teacher.. Thumbs up Clint Keep up the good work.
Fantastic experience: Best experience ever especially if you do not know how to ride they teach you literally everything and it was a blast for the whole day. Never once was I bored or felt unsafe
Fantastic experience: Been riding for years and finally took the MSF Basic Rider Course to satisfy my insurance carrier. The course was well run and a complete blast. Even an old dog like me picked up some very helpful tips that will stay with me for the rest of my riding days. Angel and Larry are terrific and did a fantastic job coaching even the most novice riders in our group to the point that they were ready for the road. Looking forward to taking the next class when I can find the time.
Fantastic experience: Really cool facility
Fantastic experience: I took the MSF basic riding course over the weekend at NOLA Riding Academy, and can't speak highly enough of the facilities and the teachers. I went into the class terrified of riding my new motorcycle, but left confident and armed with the tools and knowledge needed to practice in perfecting my riding skills. Shouts out to Clint, Angel, and Larry, the best riding coaches one could ask for!
Fantastic experience: My wife and I took the can am rider course this past weekend the instructor Clint is DEFINITELY the truth he made the class fun and interesting

Fantastic experience: Got my msf certification here. Great track and great staff who really care. Shout out to one of my teachers, Morgan, who went above and beyond.
Positive experience: The place okay but they should have better carts
Nola Riding Academy is ONLY for motorcyclists... We ARE NOT affiliated with the go-karts nor Extreme Experience. Please L@@K before you post, pay attention to what you are posting.
Fantastic experience: We had a private race for a bachelor party and the staff was friendly and amazing. The tracks they made for us were great and they allowed us to practice and taught us some techniques so that we could have the best time when the competition really counted! Their gear is friendly for recording with GoPro equipment. Would highly recommend.
Fantastic experience: By far the best riding program around, friendly and knowledgeable staff offering MSF basic rider training, one on one private training, and a complete outfitter for on Track training at one of Nola Motorsports Parks two motorcycle courses. Gear, Parts, Service, & Motorcycles also available.
Positive experience: Talked to the instructor, Very nice guy

Fantastic experience: Great place for racing
Fantastic experience: Sooooooooo much fun!!!!!
Fantastic experience: Great venue nice cars great staff
Fantastic experience: Mr. Austin is an incredible teacher, the whole experience was phenomenal from the classroom to the bikes everything was extremely fun and informative, he taught me how to operate a motorcycle coming from an absolute zero background with motorcycles or manual transmission anything! I highly recommend anyone that wants to learn to go here to learn 10/10!
Fantastic experience: Insane. The most insane experience I have ever had. Do it
Positive experience: Great
Fantastic experience: Great staff, lots of fun
Fantastic experience: Sweet
Fantastic experience: I had never driven a manual or ridden anything larger than a 50cc moped before when I took the MSF course with Clint. Clint watched everyone closely and was very patient with explaining concepts such as the clutch, friction zone and counterweighting to me; even though it took me more than a day to really get it he kept explaining it to me in different ways and even let me practice on the bike for more than an hour extra after the first day's class ended. Between repetitions of each exercise he would stop riders who were having trouble and give them tips on how to improve. By the end of the class I was able to pass the MSF test and Clint led us on a few laps around the track as well so that we could get a sense of highway speed and how to take turns at freeway speed as well. Definitely recommend NOLA Riding Academy to anyone who wants to learn how to ride a motorcycle.
Fantastic experience: Fun time riding gocarts here! 3 races is all I could do, it's a serious workout.
Fantastic experience: Awsome
Fantastic experience: Great place to learn the basics or hit the track and go all out!
Positive experience: Nice facility with a lot to do.
Fantastic experience: Loved it
Fantastic experience: Took MSF course, George is a great instructor. Saw some cool cars there. Still had to take both tests at DMV.
Fantastic experience: Love it!
Fantastic experience: Solid
Fantastic experience: A beautiful place to be
Fantastic experience: The best experience I have had.
Fantastic experience: Went to Wide Open Wednesday and rented a Ninja 300. Clint Austin is super friendly and helpful. It was my first time riding on a track, and he helped me out a lot by giving me a lot of useful advice and even riding in front of me and showing me good lines to take. Wide Open Wednesday is a great place to start if you want to ride on a track!
Fantastic experience: Glad I took this course. I learned a lot from the MSF book but Clint's stories and advice were just as important in learning how to ride and be safe once I got out on the road. The instructor (I think his name was George) was nice and helpful too when it came to riding portion of the course. I am happy with my experience and glad I took the course. When I am riding I constantly rely on the teachings I learned at this course to stay safe and be prepared for whatever gets thrown at me out on the road.
