Negative experience: A friend of our had a bike problem in your area. He rented a car to continue our vacation. He received a phone call saying it was fixed, when asked if it had been ridden to make sure it wasn't overheating anymore. He was told yes...50 miles. He picked it up, paid the bill and went to return the rental car(2miles) away. We were ready to leave and had the same original problem. He called the service depth. They said they would be there shortly. After several more phone calls and 3 hrs later,we rented a truck,loaded the bike in the back and continued on our trip. I feel our friend got totally ripped off and you know it(and ignored him). Same on you!!!
Thank you for your review, though it seems a few important details are missing. Your friend’s bike, which is over 16 years old, had an intermittent throttle issue. We found corrosion on the throttle pins, which we repaired, and then test-rode the bike for 50 miles without any overheating or other issues. Your friend was informed that our driver was further away and it would take some time to reach them when the issue reoccurred. While we understand the frustration, we made every effort to assist, including sourcing alternative parts and attempting to reach out multiple times after the bike was returned. We never received a response back. We stand by the work we did based on the information available at the time. Also, it sounds like this wasn’t your personal experience, which makes it difficult to assess all the details. If your friend wishes to discuss this directly, we’d be more than happy to resolve any remaining concerns. Our team takes customer service seriously and always aims to make things right.

Negative experience: I am very disappointed with the customer service at mad river harley davidson. I needed a wheel bearing replaced. I called to schedule it and was told to bring it in that day. So I took it in the next day. When I dropped it off I gave them my after market extended warranty information. They basically snubbed me because it wasn't from Harley Davidson. After I dropped it off it sat for 2 weeks before they looked at it. Then another 3 weeks before I got it back.they never called with updates, I had to call them. I was going to them because I bought the bike there. Even though I have a dealership closer. I will be using the one closer to me from now on.

Negative experience: My husband and I needed a wheel bearing replaced and a new tire. It took the shop a month to finish it. The tech who handled things scoffed and snubbed my husband and his warranty (its from a different company). Which was more cost effective than the extended warranty from Harley. We are totally disappointed by the disrespect and lack of good customer service. We bought our first Harley there but will never go back to this particular store. Horrible communication and customer service.

Fantastic experience: Brought my bike in for a service and was able to get in quickly. Corey Robert and CJ kept me up to date and got my bike back in no time.

Fantastic experience: Purchased my bike during Bike Week. There was an oil leak from the oil coolant lines along with the front cylinder head. The service department here managed to figure out my issue and get it fixed in a timely manner. Thanks Corey, CJ, and Phil

Negative experience: I would be careful with their service department, I had them install a Progressive Monotube suspension on my 2016 Street Glide Special the bike had a clanking noise when I hit a bump. Returned the bike to service department they disassembled the bike put it back together said nothing is wrong, the bike still has a clanking noise in the front end. I really would not return my bike to Mad River for service of any kind.

Fantastic experience: Mad River made it happen! I was excited to recently purchase a 2024 Road Glide in Billiard Gray. I had been lusting after the bike since I first seen it online. Fit Specialist Trenton stayed in touch over the last few months and reached out recently. I explained what I was looking for, as well as financing details. Trenton and the Mad River team were able to meet my needs and now the bike is in my garage. If you are on the fence about purchasing a new Harley-Davidson now is still a great time to buy!

Negative experience: Don't trust them. Go in with the Harley list price for your bike on your phone. I tried to go off memory and payed WAY TOO MUCH for my bike. I already had a bad opinion of this dealership. But this and the fact they refused to put in the wiring for my sound bar just iced it for me. It's partially my fault so I'm blaming myself. But don't trust them. Make sure you get them off their ridiculous mark ups. The only plus I can say is they did drop my new bike off at the house once they put the risers on. * update* you see their reply. Yet no one has reached out saying it was a mistake or offer to refund the amount over The Advertized HD price. They have the paperwork. They know the price. Also I was led to believe I could use the extended service plan anywhere. This isn't the case. I have to use them.

Negative experience: I usually stop there every once in a while for gifts. Today I stopped in to purchase a baby gift for a friend. Walked in the door and wasn’t greeted or acknowledged by anyone which was fine. I knew what I was looking for. I looked around for a bit, grabbed what I needed, checked out and headed for the door. As I was walking out the security alarm sounded. Thats fine maybe the tag was left on the baby hat I purchased. Mind you, it’s a *baby hat*.. I had a bag and a receipt so I thought “no biggie”. I turned around immediately and headed for the desk where there seemed to be 10 employees hanging out and talking now staring at me. As soon as I crossed through the door back inside, I felt bombarded with three employees approaching me rather quickly. (I wasn’t acknowledged by anyone up until this point) The one was very nice and wanted to check the item but another was very close to me and staring at me as if I had actually stolen something. I get it - as an employee you want to make sure people aren’t stealing from your business but I felt very uncomfortable with the look I was given. On top of the way he was looking at me, when they checked the bag and saw it was only a baby hat without a security tag, he stopped and looked me up and down once more to try and make sure I didn’t have anything in my purse. I didn’t receive the purchased item back until I opened my purse to show that I didn’t have anything (the purse is the size of my hand mind you). I understand maybe the employees were doing their job but I already didn’t feel the most comfortable when I walked in - just wanted to buy a baby item and didn’t appreciate the way I was approached or how the situation was handled. Alarms are set off all the time, I had nothing in my hand besides the bag they gave me when I purchased this item. I should’ve returned it right then and there. Probably won’t be back.

Negative experience: Do not use unless you want a ticket for blocking your neighbor's driveway by the police. These idiots didn't have enough common sense to park in front of my house instead of blocking my neighbor's driveway. I guess I have to pay this ticket.

Negative experience: Stealer-ship through and through... Sales staff won't tell you the sticker price of a bike without doing a full write up. Salesman said he didn't know the price of the bikes, that he was a "fitment" specialist, and he was only supposed to find the bike that "fit" me.. Then they could do a price write up. When they finally got around to talking price... I found out why... The markups were ridiculous...New CVO was 12k+ over MSRP and new SG Anv edition was 10k+ over MSRP. reply to the stealer: Its an easy question to answer... How much is the unit in question? You couldn't or wouldn't answer because you know your practice is predatory. I've never been to a car dealer / moto dealer / SxS dealer or anywhere that couldn't simpley tell you what the asking price of a unit was.....

Seeing that you again were unwilling to work with us, we could not provide you with straightforward pricing without calculating your tax rates. Fantastic experience: Was treated with respect and introduced to everyone on the team. As a new bike owner it was nice that I was not pushed to buy something I did not want. Chris was interested in what I had to say and didn't seem annoyed by my thousands of questions or my constant distractions. Quin provided me excellent service towards gear and didn't try to shove unneeded items into my cart or upsell me. Every single member of the team from sales, apparel, parts, and service were smiling and happy to answer every single beginner rider question I had. Fantastic experience: My experience with Mad River Harley Davidson was awesome! From the first time I walked in the door, Carrie was so nice and explained everything about the particular model that I was interested in. The entire staff was great! They didn’t try to rush me into buying when I told them I was still shopping. As I walked around the dealership lookin at the merchandise, I told my wife that I think this is where I’m going to make my purchase. After doing a little more shopping, we ended up back at Mad River a week later to purchase a 2023 Road Glide. The process was smooth and we were out of the dealership in no time. I definitely recommend before buying anywhere else, stop by Mad River to see how they compare.

Fantastic experience: I first visited their website and saw a few motorcycles of interest. I nearly immediately received an electronic response and their social media staff were very responsive & even set up an appointment for me to visit during their busy Ohio Bike Week. Once I arrived, I spoke with a few different staff who directed me to the correct person. Sales reps were very friendly and, despite their ultimate jobs being sales, I never felt pressured. They talked to me about my interests and tried to figure out what bike would be best for me. After a test ride of two bikes with Nate, he and Carrie worked with me to find an agreeable price and deal. While not my “local” HD dealership, their inventory was great with more options than I imagined. Thank you for your help!

Negative experience: I’ve been in multiple times and my experience with sales has been subpar. I’ve been in position to buy 2 different bikes. The first time the sales manager insulted my wife’s intelligence,by talking down to her, so needless to say we left. The 2nd time was today 5/5/23. There needs to be better communication between departments. I worked in automotive customer service for over 20 years. I’m very disappointed in the way my transaction was handled. I received a call after doing the online credit verification. Which was approved. The call was to set up a appointment to bring my bike in for trade in and do paperwork, the words of the young lady on the other end. So I was under the impression the bike I was interested in would be mine to own. Then about 20 min later I received a text saying the bike was sold to someone else. Good thing I didn’t come in to trade my bike for nothing. There needs to be a better job on customer service education. Im very disappointed and will take my business to Columbus or out of state. I’ve owned multiplier Harley’s. I love the brand and the Harley life style. However your location has lost a long time Harley lover. I’ve spent a small fortune on parts and clothing with Mad River, however you’ll never see another dime from me.

Negative experience: While a great location and a fair number of new and used bikes...the pressure to buy immediately is off putting. Maybe it was my fault as I stated I was looking to buy, but I did say it wasn't going to be today...I'm looking at what I want...sorting out my options. I needed information, friendly help. Just over the top pressure to sign a deal that day. I was in town visiting family and my Dad and I wanted to look at Harleys. Figuring out what bike was going to best suit my needs. Just not the best experience. Maybe my fault on the front end..I should have said I was just looking, but then you won't get any help looking at bikes. I wanted to go back in a couple times after, but after that first experience...I wait.

Negative experience: the way this location treats their employees is unacceptable. They single out employees with mental and emotional health issues and degrade them in front of customers. Bikes are a dying breed anyway so its not surprising to see the quality of the management dying off too. HR is also known to dodge grievances from employees, so good luck defending yourself or righting wrongs within the company without a lawyer. So glad ive never wasted a penny on the brand.
We are sorry to hear you feel so strongly about this. Enough so to leave a review even though you’ve never shopped with us. We certainly take our employees health quite seriously.
Negative experience: On September 15, 2022 my husband made an appointment to pick up our brand new 2022 Harley Davidson Street Bob motorcycle at 10:30 am. The bike wasn't ready, he waited 1-1/2 hours while the service dept. worked on it. One week before the temporary tag expired, I had to call them about it. I found out they had not even processed the tag and title paperwork even though they had 45 days to do so. Also, they forgot to have him sign one of the forms, so they suggested that he overnight that form to them. It cost him $61 to do that, and they refused to reimburse him even though it was their mistake. He called the general manager numerous times, left messages, and she would never call him back. He finally received his tag and title paperwork two weeks after the temp. tag expired. That means it took them 2 months to process the paperwork. We couldn't ride the motorcycle for 2 weeks because the tag was expired. After several requests, he finally got an owners manual on November 18th. In my opinion, Mad River HD's customer service is not acceptable. Maybe it was because we were from out of state and they knew they would never see us or this bike again. I don't know why they treated him this way. I feel like they didn't care about him or his bike once he left their premises. By the way, our local Harley Davidson dealership has been very helpful and very accommodating to us and has taken excellent care of us and our new Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Kathy, It is our understanding that you won this bike as a prize in the 2022 Big Splash Raffle. We gave you all of the paperwork we needed signed to complete the transaction. You were unwilling to do the paperwork and wanted an option to do it electronically, even escalating it to Harley Davidson Motor Company who gave you the same answer. There is no electronic option. After numerous attempts to contact you by our general manager, sales manager, business manager, among others, you finally completed the paperwork. As soon as we received the paperwork we needed, the deal was processed as originally stated. Congratulations on your new motorcycle. We would appreciate if you remove this one star review given we followed proper protocol and were just waiting on your completed paperwork for the bike you won.
Negative experience: I enjoy everyone working at mad river. Very knowledgeable and courteous. Since new ownership they have done away with rewards points, lost one of the best sales person ever. Your going down the river quickly. A shame.
Hi Probe. To clarify, the points program was discontinued by prior ownership before the acquisition. As for the staff, you’ll still see many of the same familiar faces you’re used to. Change is always difficult. We encourage you to give us a chance and let us earn your business.

Negative experience: Went in to sell my 2020 sport glide today, with 3000 miles stage two kit and perfect condition bike… they offered me $13,000 after seeing two other sport glides on the floor with over 8,000 miles for sale over $20,000 was kinda a slap in the face this place has been a joke ever since I bought my bike in 2020 sales manager is a compleat tool and the only thing he’s good at is being a typical jerk of a sales man so if you’re into the game of being upside down and treated like lesser then you deserve just because you have money then I wouldn’t shop here little do they Know I know what my bike is worth and will do business elsewhere also little do they know I was only selling my bike for a down payment on my home then was going to buy a brand new touring bike next spring their loss someone else’s win!

Positive experience: Service department has always been spot on for me. The sales department is terrible. Every sales person says oh give us another try we have an all new staff. Well maybe that’s part of the issue? I had come here a few times with simple sales questions that require simple answers and would have lead to buying a bike two times. Each time I get the run around and never a straight answer so I walk out. Also very very disappointed Lake Erie harley was bought and closed! I have now purchased 2 bikes elsewhere assuming bc of policy’s and staff changeover. But the service department has taken care of my warranty issues and all questions I have had without a problem.

Fantastic experience: Everyone at Mad River was top notch!! To say they are professional, would be not only an understatement; but an insult as well! They take the process of purchasing a Harley to a new level. Not only do they go above and beyond, but they welcome you like family! All the way from my sales associate Shane Ash (he stayed with me through the whole process and was 100% honest with me) to the assistant manager Chris and manager Nate (both of whom were insistent on making sure I left there 100% happy; within their ability). To say that I’m going there for any of my future purchases, would be like saying I’m going home to visit my family.

Fantastic experience: Recently Purchased a 2022 Streetglide and traded in a bike as well. Shane and the staff there were extremely helpful and patient. Never felt rushed or pressured to commit to anything and was treated very well throughout the whole process. Also had my bike delivered on time without any issues. Fantastic experience: Unbelievable customer service. My friend and I were on a trip from Boston to Sturgis, when my friend blew out his tire. We called Mad River Harley, and explained our situation. We informed them we were 22 miles away and waiting for a tow. Luckily Mad River Harley was the closest dealership. When we called they informed us the service department closed at 5. (We called at 445)After hearing our story, one of the service members(Joshua) volunteered his time to stay late and wait for us and change my friend’s tire. Without Joshua staying late on his time to help a few Harley Riders we would of been stranded and likely ended our trip early. This is what being part of the Harley family is all about. Caleb was also excellent. Caleb and Joshua went above and beyond to help us out. By far the best experience I’ve had at any dealership. Thanks guy! We made it
