Fantastic experience: Met my son there to go to the "Tail of the Dragon!

Negative experience: Took my bike here after a crash, there was quite a bit of damage (not enough that would hinder riding) with an engine noise. I was thinking I would get it looked at, made sure it was safe to ride and be able to take it home and ride it till the parts came in. The first time they had it for a week, wrote an estimate told me it was all set to go and I could come pick it up. I also asked for a lowered kick stand which the person at the desk only stated “those are really hard to find” without even looking it up. I got on it road away and still was hearing the engine noise. They said they looked it over thoroughly and road it, however there was not one single mile added to it. I called them up very upset that they didn’t check it out to make sure it was safe to ride. The person I spoke to argued with me that I didn’t tell them about the engine noise and they would come pick it back up after some time on the phone. The next time they had it for two more weeks while my insurance company took a look at it also. My insurance person called me to tell me that they basically didn’t want to look at the engine unless they were sure that the bike was staying there to be worked on fully. Mind you, you can hear the noise on start up and shut off CLEARLY without even having to ride it at all. I called the Harley person again and still was met with an argument over the engine noise. I told them never mind and will take it to my home Harley dealership that is all the way in Michigan. The guys in Michigan immediately heard the noise on start up and knew exactly what it was. I’m convinced this Harley just doesn’t like working with women.

Fantastic experience: On Aug 6, 2024, around mile marker 2 on the Tail of the Dragon...I gravely miscalculated my speed and went off the road on my 23 CVO. I was fortunate to have relatively minor injuries, but the bike did not fare as well. After getting it up out of the ditch, I rode it carefully another 45 miles to Smoky Mountain HD. I was thinking (at the time) that I could replace a couple of crash bars and be on my way. After they inspected the bike, it was determined that the damage was enough for me to NOT ride it back to Nebraska. After a beer and some thought, I decided to leave the bike with the crew at Smoky Mountain...call the insurance, and let the restoration begin. Rather than drag it all the way back to Nebraska just to do the same thing, I had a feeling these guys were up to the task...and probably see a lot more restorations than my guys back home. Well, after 120 days, I picked it up and brought it home. During that time, "Sportster John" kept me up to date on the repairs. They were very meticulous about the parts...even sending some back after seeing flaws in the paint! I can't tell you how much I appreciated that kind of service. Sorry for the long post...but Chris, John, and all of the team there (including the guys that loaded my trailer!! thanks you guys) EVERYBODY was simply awesome. I would recommend this dealership to ANYONE! Thank you again, Smoky Mountain HD for the care and professionalism you showed me.

My wife and I purchased about $1,000.00 of accessories in your shop while traveling from Maine to Florida a few years ago. The sales associates for both the motorcycles and apparel at Maryville Harley-Davidson provided my wife and I the BEST customer experience of ANY dealership we have visited from coast to coast, including Alaska. We’ve lost track of how many shops we’ve been in since 2010. I purchased $5,500.00 worth of accessories in addition to the new FLSTFB in 2010 in Alaska. The company could drastically improve profitability and customer experience by following the fine examples set by the Maryville, Harley-Davidson in team in Tennessee! IMHO Best Wishes

Fantastic experience: I’m on vacation 1100 miles from home and my bike was dropped. The bike front rotor was bent. Not only were they able to get it done in a few hours, but they were able to locate the part at another dealership. I can’t say enough about the dealership. High marks in my view.

Negative experience: I was there for the rally, I purchased a Rockford fosgates sound system on Sunday I made a appointment for 9am Monday, I got there early so I could get my bike early enough to go riding,I was greeted by the service writer everything sounded great, after 4 hours I went to the service writer because he was not keeping me updated on the progress he just told it was not ready it be a while yet. I waited a couple more hours, I had to go back to the service writer, he just told me it ain't ready yet I asked him to get me a actual time he said a couple more hours. I could see my in the corner of the shop most of the day with it not being touched. I finally got my bike back at 5:55pm where I left That's when found out my left front trunk signal wasn't working, when I got back to my hotel I had to pull my faring off to find the problem with my turn signal, I found the old amp wire harness was still on the bike and the plug was jammed into the wires which pulled a wire out of the plug for the left signal, I put the wire back where it goes. When I was going home on Friday I noticed a clunking noise towards the front of my bike and my Road Zeppelin seat was not working. When I got home I pulled my seat off and found it was not plugged in, I went to pull my gas tank off to remove the old wire harness which was still hooked up to the battery, when removing the fuel tank I found all 4 for the fuel were loose, I was very disappointed in the service department. Everything else dealership was great.

Fantastic experience: I would like to give a shout out to Matt Roberts in the Parts Dept and Chris Forsyth in the Service Dept. Yesterday was Labor Day and I had some time off of work to ride out to Maryville. I wanted to see if I could get some new pipes for my 2024 road glide. I figured that would be a long shot since was a holiday. Matt took care of the purchase (had the needed parts in stock) and coordinated with Chris on getting the pipes installed while I waited. Keep in mind that yesterday was a holiday, and that there was limited staff in the service department and yet, Chris kindly orchestrated the effort to get my bike on the road in one easy visit. I really appreciate these guys and the extra mile they went. I’ve bought two bikes from the dealership and highly recommend them to you. They are definitely a destination dealership, but above and beyond that, they treat their customers with a level of care that is beyond any other dealer.

Fantastic experience: Last week while In Alcoa Tn for an annual rally. My street glide experienced an issued. Being 5 hours from home I needed to make sure my bike was going to be fine to drive. If I used my right turn signal it would blow the accessory fuse which would cause the gauges, brake lights, and turns signals to stop working. Took my bike to Smokey Mountain HD which was only 10 or so minutes from the hotel I was staying at. They have a convenient service department. Pull your bike through the double doors inside the building and someone will take your bike to be worked on within 5 minutes. They discovered a wire was broken behind the fairing that was grounding out causing the fuse to blow. They fixed the wire and the issue was fixed… well for about 3 minutes anyway lol. After I left the same issue came back and unfortunately the dealer had closed at 6 and they stayed till they finished my bike. So once I left the locked the doors behind me. The following morning I showed up again asking them to take another look since the issue came back immediately. They took my bike back, diagnosed it, and did not re charge me for the labor. Much appreciated and if I’m ever in the area again I will come back. I will definitely recommend this dealer to anyone who ask. The salesman were knowledgeable as were the mechanics. Thank you Jake for diagnosing my issue and explaining to me what took place to cause the issue.

Fantastic experience: About a month ago, I traded in one of my Sportsters for this pre-owned 2014 Dyna Super Glide Custom. I noted some "popping" in the exhaust during my test ride, but figured it just needed a better flowing air cleaner assembly and a good tune. Unfortunately, after resolving those matters, I still couldn't get the motorcycle to run right. I took it back to the SMHD service department, and they began a painstaking process of diagnosing the problem. They finally put it on the dyno and discovered that it needed injectors. They put in fresh plugs and a battery as well. When I came to pick it up, they simply handed me the keys, no charge. I purchased the bike "as is" with no warranty. They could have hid behind that. Instead, they treated me with respect, and stood by their reputation for selling quality products, even if they're used. I happily do a lot of business with SMHD, and I plan on continuing to do so. Fantastic experience: Shout out to Service Advisor Chris Forsyth. Picture this.... 500 miles from home, my new front tire installed days prior shakes so bad I was sure it was square, pouring rain and hungry as a hostage. After being turned down by two other HD Dealerships because they were too busy Chris was able to get me back on the road in about an hour. While I waited and dripped dry I stepped across the parking lot for a delicious sammich and a wobble pop. Full belly, cold adult beverage, sun peaking from behind clouds and handle bars that didn't vibrate out of my hands I was on my way. Thanks again Chris. That's why I dont ride a Honda.

Fantastic experience: Purchased a new 2022 Fatboy here. Took the bike back in for the first service and a free bike wash. I'm sure it was an honest mistake but the cleaner had badly streaked the clear coat on the rims beyond repair. They picked my bike up and replaced the rims and tires. They had it looking good as new and promptly returned it all free of charge. I'm extremely satisfied with the effort in making things right. Great showroom of new and used bikes. Great staff, good food and live music. Nice selection of accessories and apparel I'll definitely be back.

Negative experience: Me and my girlfriend purchased two bike here last year. She decided on a Sportster and while she was doing the paper work I found one I liked. They did all the paper work on her and the loan through a local Credit credit Bureau with a low interest rate. The loan Lady was supposed to do the same for me. After all said and done. My fault for thinking she was going to run my through the same loan company like Discussed. She ended up going with Harley Which had a ridiculous interest rate that was not discussed till it was too late. And all she could say was sorry she forgot. Went to look at trading at a Harley Dealership in Florida and they couldn’t believe how bad they had Screwed me. So make sure you look at the paper work before you sign.

Positive experience: I've always loved getting my jeans here. They last quite a while.. But I wanted some new ones.. So we go up there & they changed the way they size them. What no more petite!!! I'd have to cut the length.. If I want flare that's not going to work,, straight legged maybe. But I'm not going to spend that kind of money to have to take my pants and have them altered.. So I guess I'll be shopping elsewhere for my jeans.. the employees are great. The girls behind the counter were great. She was really helpful and she understood where I was coming from. I'm all 4'9" I need petite and you guys are not carrying them now and that is just wrong.

Fantastic experience: Hands down the best experience I've ever had buying any vehicle. Huge selection of new and used bikes, riding gear and accessories. The sales team was extremely patient and helpful in the hours we spent going over options and making the decision on which bike to purchase. Was even able to purchase the bike and have a few things installed that day while we finished finance paper work. I'll be returning next weekend for the Harley Davidson riding academy and would happily make the 4 hour drive here before going to any other Harley store.

Fantastic experience: Great dealership. Very big. Large selection of anything you need or want. The Shed had good food and the price was good. It was super busy and I had 50 people in front of me at least. But the line moved fast. After I ordered it was less than 5 minutes before I received my food. Smokey Mountain Bike Week was great while I was there. Can’t wait to see how it grows.

Fantastic experience: Its like the Harley shop of all Harley shops. Not only the largest Harley Dealership in the area but also accompanies a well laid out property that has a great venue for concerts and activities as well their own BBQ restaurant and bar. They have some massive smokers where they smoke their own pork, briskets etc. Damn good too! But can't forget the vast selection of bikes and accessories. Large facility and grounds where there's always activities and great place to hang out!

Fantastic experience: Very cool location. Stopped by while passing through. Great selection of both bikes and gear. The assortment of antique bikes throughout the store made for a great atmosphere. Pleasantly suprised. Did not interact with any of the staff so can't comment on that.

Negative experience: Good selection of bikes for sale. I stood around, staring at a specific bike, for about 30 minutes. Not 1 sales rep came up to me during that time. 3 sales reps congregated together talking to each other... I guess they sold enough bikes today and don't want my $. ***Udpate*** Came in again today (9/20/23), just to see if Kay time was a fluke... not a fluke! Walked around the bike for another 30 minutes, and NOT A SINGLE PERSON came to talk to me. Again, a group of sales reps were congrated together having a casual conversion (see attached photo with 4 sales people... i didn'teven try to be inconspicuous with this picture). I guess I'll have to wave a wad of cash around to get noticed... by the way, I'm NOT A small guy! I'd rather drive/fly to a dealership in another state than deal with Smokey Mountain H-D sales reps!!!

Fantastic experience: Just bought a beautiful Heritage Softail Anniversary Edition. I visited 10 different Harley Davidson dealers in GA, NC, and SC. I came back to Smoky Mountain because of the knowledge, professionalism, and pure enthusiasm of the salesman, Josh. He went out of his way to make an old guy like me feel welcomed and comfortable while patiently answering all my questions. I never felt pressured like I did in some dealerships. It may be almost 3 hours from my home, but this is the dealership I'll be making all my purchases from. I can't say enough about what a great experience this was, from all the people I met at the store to the guy who delivered my bike. Awesome!

Fantastic experience: More of a restaurant/sports bar feel than a brewery, but the beer was good and the service was great... Get the seasonal peach mixed with the Helles... So Good!!...

Negative experience: I paid over $300 for the MSF Safety Course. The first day of the class, other people were late, but they didn't say anything to them. The second day, I ran into construction and was going to be late, so I called my coach and she said it was fine, just come on in. When I made it there, she pretty much told me "oh well, sucks for you." When I got there, the other riders weren't even on the bikes, they hadn't got started yet. You are supposed to wear over the ankle boots and use their bikes. They bent the rules for the other participants, by letting them be late, wear shoes that aren't over the ankle boots, and let a woman bring her own bike. Now I am out over $300 for being late due to traffic in a construction zone, but the other participants got leeway. It is also very inconvenient that the first day of the class isn't over until 9PM. Then the second day starts at 7AM. People that don't live close won't even have time to get adequate sleep. Don't waste your money on the MSF Safety Course, they teach you basics that are common sense, definitely not worth over $300. The coaches are arrogant and act like they are better than you because they are your coach. I have been a customer at SMHD for years and always go there for anything I need, motorcycle related. After speaking with someone regarding this situation, I have decided not to use them anymore. They have lost me and my husband as loyal customers.

Negative experience: DO NOT TAKE THE MSF COURSE HERE. If you’re the least little bit late or the coaches just don’t like you, they’ll kick you out of the class and it’s 400$ down the drain. The coaches are arrogant and unprofessional. Don’t waste your time and money doing that. Bought a bike here that was pictured with parts and then they took them off when I bought it. The service tech spray painted over the vin number of the bike I bought. Overall- if I could give it 0 stars I would.

Fantastic experience: I purchased my first Harley bike from smoky mountain, Harley Davidson, I went into the dealership, looking for a BMW, dual purpose motorcycle. After talking to Ted the salesman there he informed me of the better deal by buying a Harley versus a BMW in which that there are more dealerships available throughout the country than BMW dealerships, so if I was a long ways from home, I had better options to have my bike worked on! Ted was very great in being attentive and knowledgeable, I would highly recommend talking to him when you get there. A.k.a. Terrible Ted, just a name I call him ha ha.

Fantastic experience: We needed a speedometer cable for a 84 FXR they said come back at 4pm. At 4:30 we were on the road after borrowing their tools. Lets give everyone in the parts department a big round of applause.

Fantastic experience: I would like to personally thank Brian (the service manager at SMHD) for restoring my faith in a Harley Davidson dealership. After purchasing my 22 street bob from bootleggers of knoxville. My 1st 500 miles I had to take it back to the shop for an oil leak. It was $575 to get my bike back. (Story has more detail but don't wanna blast that drama here) after that I was very weary of using any hd dealership to do anything on my bike. My 5k service was coming up and I had other issues with the bike that needed to be addressed. I needed someone that I could trust to look at the bike. After talking to a few of my biker friends, Brian's name kept coming up. After hearing his name multiple times from sources that didn't know each other, I decided to schedule my 5k at SMHD. I contacted Brian, made sure he was going to be there on the day my bike was getting serviced. I arrived 45 minutes before they opened. About 10 minutes of being there, Brandon came out(35 min before they open) and got all my info. My bike was in before anyone else's. Brian came out just a few minutes behind Brandon. (All before they are technically open) Brain got the scope of everything with the bike. He asked if I wanted to test ride while I wait. I did. Test ride 4 bikes and for riding the new sportster s, they bought my lunch from the shed. (Great food!!) Everyone I met that day was just awesome. Randy the sales guy was just down to earth and real. The ride instructor(I can't remember her name) was awesome and a really great road captain!! So after all this, it's time for me to get my bike. They gave me a discount and super detailed my bike, like showroom floor clean.(she was really dirty from the constant riding I do). After feeling like I got s*** on from the other place(service department) to feeling at home at SMHD. I will definitely be going back to SMHD and will probably be the only place I go. They provided everything I needed, fixed all the other issues at no extra cost and was a blessing to be around!! If you are reading this and need someone you can trust. Call Brian the service manager at Smokey Mountain Harley Davidson. Best dealership in Tennessee!!!

Fantastic experience: I absolutely fell in love with the store. I had taken the Harley class twice here in IL. While visiting TN I decided to check them out. A gentleman by the name of Hammer introduced me to a jumpstart which allows you to practice shifting. He was so patient and guided me through it. I would like to say Thank you for this as I was a nervous wreck lol. If you go to the shop everyone was super friendly but say hi to Hammer.

Fantastic experience: We stop here on every trip to the Smokies. Usually, it is at least twice per year and has always had good experiences. The crew is always helpful, friendly, and willing to help.

Fantastic experience: First weekend of May there were 10 of us ladies who rode out to Maryville, TN from Wichita Kansas to attend She Rides Moto. We were so impressed with the dealership, The Shed, and all of the employees (and especially thank you to Becker in Service). It was an amazing trip, and thanks to Smoky Mountain HD! Thank you from The Litas Wichita for a weekend full of great route recommendations, good food and drink, and live tunes!
