As trained driving experts, our instructors have a vested interest in creating a safer driving environment. Doesn’t it make sense to trust your students drivers education to an expert? Having current and previous police officers, firefighters, EMS, military, and teachers as driving school instructors impresses upon our students the importance of safety behind the wheel. As a result, our students learn lessons more than just the rules of the road.
Tri-Cities 911 Driving School: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Very informative and helpful. Based on other driving schools I have attended for employment this is one of the best, if not the best experience. The session was more like a coaching and made you feel like you were a team, and they wanted you to succeed, whereas other instructors feel more like a drill sergeant. 10/10 would recommend for employers and/or personal experience
Fantastic experience: My instructors were very nice and made learning to drive stress free. They explained everything clearly too. They covered everything I needed to know. If you’re looking for a great place to learn to drive, I definitely recommend 911 Driving School.
Fantastic experience: The instructors are patient, knowledgeable, and made me feel comfortable behind the wheel. They provided clear instructions, helpful feedback, and built my confidence with each lesson. The school also made it easy to fit lessons into my busy schedule. Thank you for your expert guidance! I passed my driving test on the first try!
Fantastic experience: The staff and owner were super friendly and helpful, and the instructors were top-notch. Highly recommend for a great learning experience!
Fantastic experience: Very organized, professional, and courteous.
Negative experience: It definitely wasn't all bad but we will for sure be looking at other driving schools in the area for our other children. In the orientation I honestly felt a bit bad for the owner. He badmouthed the parents (they just complain all the time) as well as the students (lazy, unappreciative, apathetic). Not that I disagree that can sometimes be the case but the first impression was pretty negative. I also was shocked that they have male adult instructors taking female students one on one for long distance drives. In my opinion there should be at least one other kid in the car. Lastly, please leave politics out of the classroom. Absolutely no reason for it (left leaning or right leaning). Many times my child came home to relay to us the latest tangent an instructor went on regarding politics that had nothing to do with driving/the road/safety. I'm glad a lot of people seem to like this place and, in the end, my child learned a lot but, unfortunately, it was not an overall great experience for us.
Negative experience: There were dead bugs on the floor, the knowledge test asks completely unreasonable and subjective questions, heavy smell of weed in the offices, high prices, along with charging you if you miss a day.
Fantastic experience: This is probably the best driver’s ed place, hands down…..The instructors are very patient, and they do not unnecessarily knock off points…..”if the testing instructor fails you, then you deserve to fail”……dress code is also unbiased……girls CAN wear shorts just not SHORT shorts…… and they are super friendly and willing to answer any questions…….AND they will wait for you if you’re a few minutes late for your drive!!!!
Fantastic experience: I just passed my driving test Lisa is an excellent and very understanding instructor, I definitely recommend this driving school.
Negative experience: rude instructor, older man making multiple comments asked if i was color blind because a mistake.
Dom, I am terribly sorry that you had this experience with Tri-Cities 911 Driving School. As stated on the day of your DOL skill test, if you want, I will personally take you for your test retake. Let me know if you have any questions regarding the mistakes that were made on the test to help you best prepare to succeed.
Negative experience: I believe there is an unfairness. I paid for a one-hour private training session, but I was 10 minutes late. When I arrived, the session was canceled and my instructor had left the driving school. They won’t give any refund and charged almost double penalty fee. I think they should have at least waited for the student for some time, considering I had already paid in advance for that one hour. Hope others will pay attention to this situation if future u will take private courses here.. I am so sad because I took 1 and a half hour bus from home to here and even haven’t met the instructor. I also pay a lot for this situation because of the 10 minutes late…however, I am a new graduate without many savings.
Dear Ting,
We apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced at Tri-Cities 911 Driving School. We understand your frustration regarding the cancellation of your one-hour drive.
According to the Department of Licensing (DOL) guidelines, driving schools are required to have approved policies and procedures in place. One of our policies states that a fee of $50 is charged for instances such as not being prepared for the drive, being a no-show, or canceling with less than a 24-hour notice.
In your case, the appointment was scheduled from 2:30 to 3:30. The instructor waited for 15 minutes, as per the guidelines, but you did not arrive within that time. Since it was the instructor's last appointment of the day, she left. Another instructor who returned from a previous appointment witnessed your arrival at 2:57.
We apologize for any miscommunication that may have occurred. If you had informed us about your delay, we could have accommodated you. We value your feedback and will use it to improve our services in the future.
Negative experience: if you want to take your driving test i suggest dont you dare try to do it here in 911 driving school cause they will fail you no matter what.they fail you on purpose and they will tell that you need to take a class with them..and if you're from other country you automatically fail. They're literally racist and money maker!!
Fantastic experience: We have 2 kids who are just wrapping up drivers school here and I have been nothing but impressed with the school, instructors and overall program. Our kids have learned so much and are already WAY better drivers than we were at their age. The owners and instructors truly care about keeping our kids and our community safe.
Negative experience: Stay away if you planning to take skills test only. They just come up with random points to fail you and grab more money out of your pocket. Make sure to ask for videos if you feel like your score is unfair.
Fantastic experience: I scheduled a class and a road test at this school. The scheduling process was smooth and the staff were pretty friendly and approachable over the phone. The instructor Zahir was professional, communicative and very clearly instructed, pointed out and rectified errors. I overall had a very good experience at this place!
Fantastic experience: Great school to give kids solid fundamentals for driving
Negative experience: I wish I could post a negative score. Just pulled our daughter out of this school. They have two different standards based on your child's gender. Over 100 degrees and my daughter felt compelled to wear sweat pants to avoid a dress code violation for being in shorts. Meanwhile the same standards are not imposed on the boys. She is the 2nd girl to leave this session for the same reason. My daughter has been raised to be very modest and dressed appropriately at all times. She has never had an issue like this at any of the schools here in Kennewick. The obvious biased behavior toward the girls in that class is offensive. Parents beware of how your daughters will be treated here.
Fantastic experience: I really enjoy going there. They give me amazing support!
Fantastic experience: Best teachers ever!!!
Negative experience: This place only wants money don't go here if you didn't pay for the class. They will fail you over and over on both your written and drive tests. The entire time you take the drive they doc point and then tell you that you need to take there class.
Fantastic experience: Sid and his team of instructors are the best hands down....
Fantastic experience: Lol! 911 driving school! Billie Jo McQuilken, take a look at this! That's when you took me for a ride in Ron car, when dad and I visited
Negative experience: This place is horrible, they are money grabbers. Had my son taking a knowledge test there, he studied so hard but when he took the test he said half of it was not even what he studied from DOL book, half of the test was about drugs and other none related to driving. Also the test is on paper no computer systems, when I asked to see the test and results as a parent, they refused. They make up there own rules and regulations, it's made to fail you at first so you came back and pay again. Because you pay every time you test. Like I said they are money grabbers. You won't pass for your firs try I guarantee you that, avoid this place unless you want to throw your money at them.
Fantastic experience: I went to this driving school when I was 16 and now in my mid 20's. I can say because of attending this program I have never got in a car accident, as I learned to be extra safe working with retired law enforcement. They prepared me extremely well and I passed both test with high scores. I would definitely recommend! 10/10
Fantastic experience: I had a really great experience here. The instructor explained everything very patiently which made me more confident each day. She also trained me for all kinds of roads and situation a driver might encounter. I would recommend anyone to learn driving from 911 driving school.
Negative experience: This is a fact - Only if you take classes from 911 or pay them for a driving test warm up session. They will pass you. The lady who took my test told me this clearly. I was shocked! At least now, if somebody tells me that they took classes from 911 and got passed in their test, I would know what to expect out of these drivers, Zero! I will also make a complaint to DOL for this business that is started in the name of driving tests.
Positive experience: It was a good experience...
Fantastic experience: Super patient instructors, easy to work with, flexible with changes arising from the shutdown
Fantastic experience: Best driving school
Fantastic experience: All great instructions! I think they are awesome. We wish we could get his drives scheduled a little more often but I realize that it has been difficult with covid.
Fantastic experience: Great service even with the pandemic guides
