Fantastic experience: Tom and Irene are incredible. They've been in the business long enough to provide you with the skills to pass, as long as you're willing to listen and learn. To date (5-14-24) they have 19 passes and 0 fails. They make you feel welcomed and won't stop until they're confident you'll pass your exam. I highly recommend this program. Phenomenal instructors.

Fantastic experience: Austin and Marcel are the driving instructors @ 160 in Nampa, ID. They're totally informative and helpful in getting the students ready to take their CDL driving test. They listen and are very patient to anyone who wants to learn how to drive a big rig.

Fantastic experience: Marcel, Lester, and Austin are awesome instructors that care about their students and truly want us to succeed, not just in getting our CDLs but also in our truck driving careers. Marcel is the king of pre trip and is very military in his training. He will put everything you need to know from backing, shifting, you name it into step by step steps and if you follow them you will succeed. Lester keeps things fun and has a saying for everything, he'll have some analogy,story or tune to help you remember to do this or that and for me was relatable. Austin will fight tooth and nail to see you succeed in your career and always has a story from his career that will help you in yours. Would definitely recommend them as instructors.

Fantastic experience: Just passed my CDL test today thanks to Marcel, Austin, and Lester , before 160 I had no experience ever driving trucks or shifting but thanks to them taking the time and patience for getting me to the level I needed to be, they are the reason why 160 academy is the best CDL school anywhere!!!

Fantastic experience: A very great place with the variety of teachers to help with the variety of learners out there that are willing to work. Marcel did a great job at giving you exactly what you need to be prepared I’m a timely manner with getting straight to the point and when you work with him you’ll know you’re prepared to get on the road and make some money and have you ready for those real world scenarios. Marcel is very open and approachable for any questions you may have and always willing to help. He does more than his job acquires getting straight to the point, I wouldn’t go anywhere else! 11/10 definitely recommend this school!

I'd rate 3 stars for equipment failures, that didn't stop them from training me to not only pass but be confident this is my new path. Thank to you I can really make a fresh start. Fantastic experience: I worked with Marcel in Nampa. He was very thorough and took what initially felt like a large task and presented it in very easy to learn steps. Austin the lead instructor was very good to work with and was always willing to answer questions or help with tips and knowledge. They were quick to lighten the mood and made it enjoyable. Fantastic experience: Im a student from 160 driving academy and it was the best choice for me in that school the instructors were awesome!! They made everything fun and each instructor taught me something Lester has a high energy taught me pretrip and a way that wasn't dull he threw his energy around an it imprinted everything in my brain. Marcel, Austin and Chris taught me how to shift, drive and do skills I'm glad I had all the teachers there for me to have as much knowledge as I can for the road thanks guys! WHOOP WHOOP!!!

Fantastic experience: Marcel, a phenomenal Instructor From Pre-Trip, Skills, to the In-Cab Inspections If you’re reading this I liked the way you easily explained everything in the process of helping me getting my CDL. Overall 160 needs more yard space because of the amount of students enrolling every week, We had a lot of students waiting in rotation for at least 45minutes to have their turn to practice parking, that includes me. But everything else felt right. I’ll still give it a 5 star ⭐️ rating. Thank you to every other instructor for being patient with me.

He is a very professional, knowledgeable, and respectful instructor. He has an excellent attitude towards teaching and safety. With his experience he will always have an answer to any type of question you might have about trucking! Solid 5 out of 5 stars!

Fantastic experience: I attended 160 in Nampa, ID and highly recommend it. I now have my CDL! I benefitted from a low student-teacher ratio, resulting in more individualized instruction and practice opportunities driving and backing skills. Instructors were very skilled, knowledgeable, patient, and kind to me despite me having a slow learning style. We realized together that I benefitted from them making a visual of the concept they were trying to teach me, I would then copy the visual for future reference, and then I was able to process the skill once I had a visual representation of it in my brain to go on. They were very down to earth and always open to answer any question I had to help prepare myself for what to expect once I was ready to apply for CDL jobs. The "yard" school offers a choice between 7-5:30 classes Sun-Wed or Wed-Sat. I chose the Wed-Sat option. An advantage of this schedule is that it allowed me to continue my work as a speech-therapist on Mon-Tues, being able to earn money on those days so my financial burden of attending the month-long course was lessened. Note your instructors are dependent on the days that you choose to attend, remember my experience was the Wed-Sun instructors. My instructors were excellent, keep in mind if you like what you hear about the instructor you should ask the branch manager which instructors are teaching when so you have a better chance of being taught by them. Lester: awesome driving instructor, helped teach me the roundabouts, to stop properly before a stop sign, to take my corners slow, and to consciously focus on not driving with fingers clenching the wheel and shoulders tight. Austin: helped me significantly with my driving, his visual representation helped me finally master the elusive offset parking skill, also helped me learn how to correct my alignment when straight backing. Marcel: very good at understanding how to teach so students can process the information in small chunks. He was awesome teaching the pre-trip inspection...he is the King of the Pre-Trip Inspection! He helps you learn what you need to know in a practical, easy to remember way. He taught me the straight backing skill. Chris: was not my instructor but when I did interact with him, he was helpful and kind. The first week is a virtual training which was well done. I enjoyed the online instructor David's expertise and teaching style. On the virtual platform there were many pdf's that I printed out and made a binder with for future reference and to support my written exam studying prep, and the practice exams on the platform help prepare students well for the written test at the DMV. I do wish students were able to complete the week long virtual training in the comfort of their own home setting rather than being required to come into the Boise office for the class. Virtual instructor David encouraged everyone to try to get certified with the manual tractor-trailer which requires clutch and shifting skills. Although 95% of the tractor-trailers are automatic now, if you don't do your driving test with a manual there will be a restriction on your license. Marcel was awesome trying to teach me the manual shifting and clutch techniques but it was way too much to learn all at once for me during the 12 days in the yard. I later wished I hadn't tried at all to learn the manual, as having the restriction on your license I have now learned will not adversely impact your ability to secure employment. The time I spent trying to learn the manual took away from driving time I could have spent getting familiar with driving the automatic. I would encourage other students if they are unsure if they should try with the manual starting out to ask themselves "am I historically good learning a large number of new skills in a short amount of time?" and if the answer is "probably not..." then to skip the manual training, get trained and tested on the automatic. You can always invest later in learning and testing on the manual later. Thank you, instructors, for helping me achieve my goal!

Marcel, Lester, Chris, and Austin are the top of the country, thank you gentlemen. The staff, in general, was top notch and I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome of it all! CDL-A official graduate. CDL-A classes have been fun at 160 Driving Academy in Nampa. Their way of teaching and making difficult things easy is brilliant so that all students can understand and remember everything. I recommend 160 Driving Academy to everyone.
