Our comment from DrivingSchools.Directory about Allied Driving School:

Allied Driving School is known for its dedicated instructors and a positive learning atmosphere. Many students have had great experiences, especially with instructors like Seldieu Etienne, who is praised for his patience and ability to build confidence in nervous drivers. He, along with Adriana and Miguel, has received accolades for their supportive teaching styles and effective instruction, helping students prepare thoroughly for their driving tests.

Additionally, the school offers competitive pricing and accommodates different learning styles, making it easier for students to find a method that works for them. Numerous reviews commend the school's affordability, convenience, and the ease of communication they have experienced.

However, there have been some negative experiences reported, particularly involving communication issues and rude customer service from the school's management, especially a few instructors like Raul. Some students have felt that the management did not handle complaints well or showed unprofessional behavior, which detracted from their overall experience.

Despite these concerns, many students express gratitude for their successful outcomes, emphasizing that the quality of instruction and knowledge from instructors often outweigh negative interactions. Hence, if you're looking for a driving school that is reliable and affordable, Allied Driving School might be the right choice for you.

Negative experience: So I choose this school to do my traffic school online last year August. I paid the fee and completed the exam online and passed. Now I’m trying to get insurance and DMV says I have a point. Called Santa Monica courthouse and was told that I don’t complete traffic school. So I told her I did so she suggest to call the company where I complete it at which was Allied online traffic school. A gentleman answered the phone with a thick accent and asked me for information to pull up my account. After giving him all the information he requested he told me that I got the wrong company and I never attended his online course. I knew it was his school because I still had his number saved in my phone. He suggested I check my bank statements and I did and I told him the date and time I made payment. He still insisted that I got the wrong company. So I noticed that I had another charge on my statement for $9.95 so I called that company because the number was listed and I spoke to a very nice man and he too told me it’s not his company after I gave my personal information. So remind you I was on the phone about 30 minutes long with the two separate company that charged my CC and took payment for my traffic school online. Now I’m frustrated because both of them say it’s not their company and I should look elsewhere. So about 30 minutes later I got two calls saying they found my information and said that yes I did pay and I spent hours reading through the material online but I forgot to take the test. That’s impossible I took the test and got a passing grade if I remember good I got 1 wrong. Then I was sent something that states I passed. Since I was told that I didn’t need to do anything on my side I never saved that email just as I never saved the payment email from them either I had to look through my bank statement. So I just came home and I called that very obnoxious rude man with an accent and he yelled and screamed and called me an idiot and yes I did record him because he was very rude and hostile towards me. Hang up on me several times saying I’m bothering.him. All I was trying to do is show him that I have more proof that I took the test. So I went through my history and I guess I shouldn’t say this but some of the questions I had doubt so I googled the question on the test and the questions are in my browsing history the same exact date and time that they have me on the site. So how would I know the questions to the test if I didn’t do the exam? There’s a glitch somewhere in their system that didn’t record my results on their side but he’s so arrogant, rude he’s calling me an idiot and yelling at me. I have the recording of him and I think his license should be taken away. He told me never call his business again because I’m wasting his time. He said he can see my studying for a couple of hours but not do the exam. Which doesn’t make sense because that was my last day to do the exam and I had just paid $550 to the courts for the red light camera and the judge told me I had to do the class and pay the fine for the point to come off my license. So it doesn’t make sense. Just as how he told me at first that it wasn’t his business I need to call someone else, i know for a fact that I took the exam and pass and I told them what steps I had to complete. I have never taken that class before it’s my very first ticket so I wouldn’t have known all this information and the browsing history wouldn’t have questions that I found answers to for that test. I will report him because he doesn’t need to serve the public especially a license to do this kind of business that he needs to interact with people. He has no filter, very rude, abnoxious and keeps yelling like you’re his child.

Fantastic experience: Good instructions, what they said in their website was true. Different instructors interact students in a different way that changes the student’s learning experience. Highly recommended to learn here.

Fantastic experience: Very kind. They make the process so easy. I don’t even recommend you go there (bc there’s no point). Just do it on the phone. Everything is legit. And the prices are the best. I legit called very driving license school.

Negative experience: I never comment on anything but honestly, it’s not worth coming here. Raul is a TERRIBLE instructor, super aggressive, rude, unprofessional and always yelling. He definitely has anger issues. Not sure why he is allowed to teach people how to drive.

Marc Sebastian Faiella 1 year ago

Negative experience: Kinda torn about this one. On one hand I had a great teacher, Paul, who unfortunately just retired. He was patient and understanding and made me feel safe. I passed my road test on the second try because of him. On the other hand, my first road test was completely ruined when Raul sent another instructor who I had never worked with in a car I had never driven. I believe his name was Juan. On the way to the best he became impatient and completely psyched me out. He also decided today was the day he would choose to say racist and homophobic things aloud I guess. He called me the F slur twice while on the phone with Raul and didn’t know that I could understand Spanish. He absolutely SUCKED so if you get him as a teacher, SWITCH. I wish I could recommend this place but I would say if you are part of any minority group be it LGBTQIA+, a POC…stay away from this school at all cost.

Fantastic experience: This was the second school I tried after the other first school stood me up and rescheduled my appointment with someone who didn't speak the same language, must say I'm glad that happened or I wouldn't have found Raul, he's a character possibly, by what some other reviews have said but my experience was 5 Star and he was strictly buisness, not chatty and showed me everything I needed to pass my test. Really wouldn't have done so without him!

Negative experience: Raul is the owner of this school. He is a dishonest person, layer and very unprofessional. He doesn’t care about the students. He use a junk car and bed smell come out from the car because of his Dog. All the instructor he had they old and he keep them because he can pay them below average minimum wage. Stay away from this school.

Fantastic experience: definitely helped me a few years ago when i was terrified to go to the dmv for my drivers test. the instructor whose name i forgot now, was very helpful on correcting me when i made a mistake while driving and gave me helpful tips that i use till this day. about a year after, i sent my little brother with them when he was ready to go in for the drivers test. and over the years, ive been sending a few other family members with them and they have all gotten their license on the first try.

Negative experience: Raul is a very Bad instructor. He yelled at me was physical with me-although I had experience driving. When I asked him why r u angry and that I am learning he rudly responded that I almost missed the light. Pay extra money and go to a better school that will teach you and give you confidence. It was a very bad experience with this bad school and instructor.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with Allied Driving School. After multiple failed attempts at the driving test at different DMVs in Los Angeles, I was feeling defeated and discouraged. That's when I turned to Allied Driving School and they completely changed the game for me. The day before my test, Miguel gave me a two-hour driving lesson and was an amazing instructor. He was patient, understanding, and really helped me build my confidence behind the wheel. He was also able to quickly assess my strengths and weaknesses so we could focus on areas that needed improvement. The morning of my test, Raul (the owner of Allied Driving School) picked me up an hour early for some last-minute practice. Raul was just as fantastic as Miguel and I learned so much from him. He was enthusiastic and truly wanted me to succeed. Thanks to the guidance and skills I received from Miguel and Raul, I was able to take my driving test with confidence and passed that day. I can't thank Allied Driving School enough for helping me finally get my driver's license. I highly recommend their services to anyone looking to improve their driving skills or prepare for the driving test.

Negative experience: Called to inquire about getting someone to accompany me to my drivers test, the man who answered the phone was extremely rude. He cut me off as I explained what I needed, Yelled at me, and rushed me off of the phone. Horrible customer service, definitely going somewhere else.

Fantastic experience: Raul is an excellent teacher and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him. He is explanatory, encourages you when you are doing things right, and corrects you when you aren’t.

Negative experience: I made a road test appointment a week ago and supposed to be picked up 1 hour before my appointment. No one showed up today. The guy who scheduled my appointment acting like I didn't make an appointment and instead of an apology, this clown is not even picking up his phone now. BEWARE!

Fantastic experience: Mr Paul is the best instructor he is great i took my test today he pick me up an hour before and teach me all minor and major details see i passed the test because of mr paul he is very patient and nice guy best School of LA❤️

Kerry Yoon 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: Adriana is an amazing instructor. She pointed out all the minor details that are key to passing the test and offered feedback in a very constructive manner instead of making me feel more nervous. I took an hour refresher class before taking the actual exam and everything ran extremely smoothly. Prices are very reasonable too. Thank you for the help!

Negative experience: I called to make an appointment for DMV test. They told me they would pick me up an hour before the test. 15 minutes past the promised time (gave them a grace period as LA traffic could be difficult) i called them to ask when the person would arrive and how I would know when my driver would be here. The person who answered sounded very reluctant when talking to me, as if they knew that they would be wasting my time. Perhaps they forgot my appointment but I never got picked up, no phone call explaining why, terrible communication overall, and i had to cancel my DMV appointment. Im glad i did not have to pay before the test, somehow i feel like a refund would have been a hassle to get. Would not recommend.

Fantastic experience: Raul is the best instructor.. he took all the minor points where I could do mistake. I am new in states and could have done many mistakes on the day of my test. Raul took only 2 classes to teach all the rules carefully. I am very glad that I decided to get lessons from him, he was not only teaching me the driving but also boosted my confidence and prepared me for the behind the wheel test. I would highly recommend to go for lessons with Raul. Thanks for your efforts and patience.

Fantastic experience: I took a total of 8h within a week and a half and passed my test. Prior to this I had failed my test many times over the years because I didn’t live in a city where people drove and I was always a very nervous driver and nervous about tests. I had three different instructors, all three were amazing and had their different styles of teaching but Miguel took me to the test and had really good calming energy and really helped me ace my test. My two other instructors were Paul and Adriana, both very patient and really good at explaining. I’m so happy I can finally drive in LA! The price is also pretty good Thank you again

Fantastic experience: Dear readers If you're reading this, it's cause you're wondering if this is the school for you. In short, yes. Today I got my license after several months and several attempts. Here are my thoughts. The staff at Allied Driving School are really knowledgeable, keep great records and can diagnose your skill deficiencies. Adriana was great at teaching me behind the wheel technique and Raul (the owner) was great at bringing together those skills pulling it all together. For noting, it took me four goes. Here is why. 1st - being a driver in Australia, I didn't think it would be too difficult. Flunked it. 2nd - was unsure of the recommended driving area, flunked it. 3rd - Allied Driving School recommends Lincoln Park (and for good reason). I wanted to try with my friends at Van Nuys. It was wayyyy more difficult. Flunked it. 4th - Got it. I really think it was the additional lessons, especially with Raul walking me through how to bring it all together, that helped. Advice: - Be patient - There's no such thing as an "easier" DMV - The driving instructors are tough and down the line. Don't expect too much hand holding or soft talking. Instead they care, are really knowledgeable, want you to pass, keep good records to make sure you do and don't give up on you. You're paying for someone who cares you PASS! - Regardless how much you drive where you came from before, it's different here in California. It's worth the lessons because they test different skills here. - Learn to drive with Allied Driving School!

Negative experience: I had my first lesson this afternoon. Everything went pretty well - my driving instructor was very patient and responsible. At the end of the lesson, he told me that he preferred me to pay for each lesson individually, which according to him is $75 each class because my zip code is close to the company and I was eligible for a discounted package, which would be $225 total for three classes. So after the lesson, I called the receptionist, Raoul, trying to pay for my lesson. I told him exactly what the instructor told me: to pay for an individual lesson, and I wanted to confirm whether it was $75 each lesson for my circumstance. But Raoul got very aggressive and said I was trying to pay less than I owed, because apparently, each individual lesson is $90 without a package. He continued yelling at me and kept cutting me off when I tried to explain. I tried to explain to him that I didn't want to take advantage of the driving school, nor did I want to give him any trouble - I just wanted to confirm what the right price for one individual lesson is. But he wouldn't listen, and when I asked him why he is treating me in such an awful matter, he said, and I quote: "I knew the moment you called that you were trying to take advantage of us. This is America, this is how American capitalism works. I am trying to teach you a lesson, this is not some BANANA COUNTRY. This is America, and that's how things work here.” He also said I was wasting his time and that I was trying to stop him from making money from other customers. Then he put me on hold TWO TIMES, each for several minutes while he answered calls from other customers. I was so shocked by what he said. During our conversation he showed no respect, nor any professionalism. At the end of the call, he told me that $75 per lesson was okay. But it wasn’t my purpose to negotiate the price down, and I felt humiliated. I don’t know what the whole deal about “America” or “banana country” was about. Is it because I have an Asian name? Unfortunately, although I had a great time learning from my instructor, I will have to switch to another driving school.

Allied Driving School

Ms. Ma, you asked for a package rate.
The package rate was $225 for six hours. Individual lessons cost $90 per lesson. Yet, you would not want to pay for the package. Instead, you wanted to break it down in three payments of $75 for each lesson. Apparently, you were not pleased with that, and we understand that. However, that is not acceptable to us. A package rate is a package. Individual lessons are individual lessons. And you are correctlly in what was stated. This is the free enterprise system, where you are free to choose your vendor, but you can no force what you want upon us.
We wish you the best in your search for what pleases you, but we do not accept the conditions you want to place on us.
Thanks

Fantastic experience: Mr. Raul was very nice over the phone. I told him my situation and he sent me the best instructor, Mr. Miguel. I passed on my first driving test. Prices are very competitive. This is the place to go if you live and need your drivers license in LA.

Negative experience: Worst customer service. The owner has no manners to talk to its prospective clients. I called to ask for the service and things included but at the outset he passed racist and disparaging remarks. He kept on arguing then i had to disconnect the call from that clown. I wonder how they have been running their business when they cannot be good on call. Useless and hopeless.

Allied Driving School

I fail to read the content of this complaint. Can you explain what do you mean by "The service and things included".

Negative experience: I booked a driving lesson for 2 hours with them for today 04/15/2017 and no one either called me at the pre-booked time or left me a message as to why no one turned up at my place. These guys doesn't seem to be running a serious business. Stay Away !!

Fantastic experience: I booked a car for my DMV Driving test and Adriana showed up 1 hour before my appointment. I drove to the DMV and then drove around on the possible routes that I would be taking. Adriana gave me location specific critical instructions and without a doubt prepared me for the test. I would not have passed without her help. If you call to set up an appointment, ask for Adriana, amazing teacher!

Negative experience: I booked a car for DMV driven test and 1 hour lesson before my appointment start for feeling a car. This guys forget about me and come at my after my appointment time. It means, that I don't have opportunity use to car and feel it. As result I don't pass my test. AND MAIN REASON WHY I DIDNT PASS WAS NOT SMOOTH ACCELERATION AND NOT SMOOTH BRAKE. IT'S WAS IRRESPONSIBLE. THIS SCHOOL IS A CAUSE WHY I DIDNT PASS. AND ALSO THEY CHARGE ME $60. I'M NOT RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL. AVOID THEM.

Allied Driving School

Alex, you just rented a car for a behind the wheel driving test at the DMV.
Apparently, you did not meet the standards of the DMV to secure your license. You did not take lessons with us.
We hope you work on your skills and overall performance for your next attempt.
Truly yours,
The Manager

Negative experience: They don't keep what they promised!!! While there was a misunderstanding on language preference and looking into rescheduling the 6hr sessions I was promised a call back for the first 2hrs as the last 4hr were already confirmed. A day later I had to call back and I was told they couldn't do the previously scheduled times, they wanted to start at different times and different dates. They need to do a better job at booking their appointments and be more professional.

Allied Driving School

We prefer that you keep your initial appointment, otherwise you need to be flexible to our available schedules. Appointments should be kept, not cancelled at the last moment. We are sorry for your disappointment and wish you the best with other driving school.

Fantastic experience: I just passed my driving exam on my first try. Allied is very nice and patient. he gives clear instructions and prepares you very well for the driving exam. I wasn't great at parallel parking, and she showed me an easy way to parallel park for the exam. I would highly recommend his driving school.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommended - the instructor I had name is john. He is very nice and very patient with a great knowledge of DMV test criteria and how to best prepare you for it, even though I was very nervous driving on the road and the freeway but he told me in a nice way to stay calm and relax while I was driving. He is an awesome instructor :)!
