All Star Driving School: Reviews

Fantastic experience: I came here last week and had an amazing experience. James was so understanding and helpful throughout my whole experience. He helped me review the materials I needed beforehand. As for my road test, I was nervous, but he was very understanding and was kind throughout the trip. Thankfully, they provided a car since I didn't own one. In the end, I passed my road test and paid the fee in order to skip the trip to the dps. I will definitely be taking my kids to this school in the future.

Fantastic experience: My son was really nervous about his driving test, but the instructor was kind to him and put him at ease. After the test, the instructor respectfully told him about the few mistakes he made so he won’t make them again. My son actually gave the instructor a hug when he left because she was so sweet. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: In just 3 lessons I learned how to drive on the main road which was faster then I expected. The instructor was not only clear however he also worked on the small thing to fine tune driving. I went from being terrified of T boning a car while driving to being confident as suburb at driving thanks to the teaching I received from the instructor which gave meaning to the lessons. Fantastic experience: I took both the adult (18-24) 6 hour class and a road test with Jim. My experience was very good and I would definitely recommend. To book an appointment and test was very easy and straightforward.

Fantastic experience: Not sure where these 1 star reviews came from. Maybe things have changed. My experience was great. Was able to book a road test the day before. Showed up, took the test and went on my way. My tester Jim was friendly, explained mistakes I made in the car when I got back. All round nice guy and positive experience.

Fantastic experience: I'm surprised by all the negative reviews -- I had a wonderful experience here. I purchased the third party road skills test to avoid taking the test at the DPS. The staff were on time and helped me with documents that the DPS officers did not clearly explain (I had a very confusing driver's education experience because of Covid.) I couldn't have figured out the process without them, and they spent an extra 25 minutes helping me sort out the documents without charging me extra; I am very grateful. The instructor gave me clear instructions on what I would be tested on and where he might deduct points or fail me. During the test, he gave me clarification when I reached a thick bush and couldn't see the road very well. The was patient and friendly, and spent time explaining where I could improve my driving. I enjoyed my experience very much, and would go back again if I had to take a driving skills test.

Negative experience: An archaic operation run by disagreeable staffers who are unclear in their communication to customers every part of the process. It’s as simple as a checklist folks — oh and a computer might help you keep things in order. NOT recommended.

Fantastic experience: I feel compelled to write a review since several negative reviews can make one biased against this establishment. I had a great experience here. Before starting the driving test, the instructor ensure that I had a clear understanding of what the test consisted of and under what conditions I would lose points or fail the test entirely. During the test, the instructor was clear in his instructions, patient when I needed some clarification. At the end of the test, he also spent a good time explaining what I had done well or badly and gave me recommendations to improve my driving. In general, very professional, and cordial treatment.

Negative experience: mean instructors, bad driving times, old-fashioned communication methods, and unhelpful criticisms. avoid at all costs.

Negative experience: This place is horrible. It’s a scam. You sign up for a pack of classes. It’s very difficult to actually schedule lessons. You have to wait til 3-5 on Friday and pray you can get scheduled. When my daughter, actually got to go, she left the lesson in tears, verbally abused by the driver. I thought she was just anxious but she did fine after I found a different driving instructor. I realize the scam is to get many people to enroll then make it difficult to schedule and if you actually get an appointment to make it so unpleasant that you don’t come back. I wish I would have read the reviews before signing up

Negative experience: Very mean and condescending road test instructor! My child was parent taught and a good driver, parallel parking with perfection. After the test, which she passed, the instructor listed every single mistake she made. Then, he brought her into the lobby and proceeded to run through the whole list again with me, in front of everyone there waiting, with an incredibly condescending tone. He kept repeating the phrase "mental mistakes" and looking from her to me. I felt as humiliated as she did! I am positive he wouldn't have spoken to a man in the same way. I was trying to avoid the mean DMV instructors, and instead paid $99 to be humiliated by the All Star instructor and to make my daughter cry. Not the way to build confidence for a new driver! Don't send your child here for a road test!

Negative experience: I passed my driving test here and still ended up crying afterwards because the incredibly condescending man who administered it read out all of my mistakes in detail to me in the car afterward and then immediately again in the waiting room right in front of several other customers and the receptionist. It was absolutely humiliating and that's what happened when I PASSED. Do not take your test here, they will charge you a ridiculous amount of money just to publicly humiliate you for minor mistakes.

Negative experience: I called to enquire about a third party driving test, and I had to talk to a man who was rude and condescending. The prices on the website are significantly higher than other schools too. Overall, enough to put me off; I do not recommend this school to anyone.

Negative experience: I need to say first that people here are amazing and very welcoming. I took my Road Test with them during all this covid-19 craziness. DPS /DMV has given school the specific instructions to send every Road Test's sealed envelope (+ a $10 money order) directly to DPS headquarters in Austin, TX. They didn't do it, so I had to go back to the DPS, schedule and appointment (again), go to my appointment, receive the notice that they were supposed to do so and I finally ended up sending the results and money order myself. I hated that part.

Negative experience: This driving school is horrible! You can only call on Friday to get a schedule and they don’t even pick up. Then when finally get the appointment the driving teacher doesn’t show up. This is the worst driving school ever. Just save your money and aggravation and go somewhere else. The dmv is even less of a pain than they are.

Fantastic experience: I have been driving for almost 17 years & still I thought...i was gonna pass the firytime.. —Just like everything we do in order to be the best version of ourselves.Driving is a big responsibility for everyone & it shouldn’t be taken slaigthly.Because it puts other way in danger.I came as a first timer on taking the school driving test because I wanted to rush my license to be delivered due to a high demand & very busy agenda at the DPS. Honestly the first test I failed & I got upset & I wanted to blame the Person who is in-charged to make sure you do the safety part on your behalf.Next second time I had already reviewed my faults -corrected & finally passed. This location might look a bit sketchy for some.. But if you do the right best thing you can.I assure you will pass. But if you take responsibility on driving a car to slightly-you won’t.I highly recommend this business to anyone looking for school driving. Thanks!!

Negative experience: The online website is awful the loading time is forever long. Very unnecessary especially for $30 they robbed from me. It is supposed to be a 6 hour course I’m still not done after 10 hours. I would not recommend unless you want to get robbed and your time wasted.

Jasmine D. Williams 6 years ago

Negative experience: I called just to inquire about the process for drivers education and encountered a rude receptionist when I was just trying to get clarification on a few things. Very rude and unprofessional. I wished her a good day because I truly don’t have time for things like that. I’ll take my business elsewhere.

Bridey Meinecke 7 years ago

Negative experience: If I could give zero stars I would. Impossible to schedule drive times for the kids. The phone is constantly busy. You literally have to drive there between 2:30 - 4:30 on Fridays to attempt to sign up for a drive time and they have no availability for drive times. Very unfriendly and unprofessional.

Negative experience: Horrible driving experience today with a man (don’t feel comfortable sharing his full name but P***)—so awful. He was repeatedly very mean to me when I was nervous and hit his clipboard on the dash, as well as making derisive comments towards bikers, communities we passed by, “hippies,” etc. Not fun.

Negative experience: Always out of order, the classes don't go into much detail about driving. Very hard to get a drive time, teachers are always late to class. One of my instructors Jim got angry at me because I didn't write my name in my book. Then he took my book and publicly humiliated me by tossing it in the trash and making me dig for it. When I refused to dig for it he made me write a 3 paged essay on why I should write my name on my assignments. It was overall awful and I wished someone would have warned me before I went, like I am doing now.

Negative experience: Worst driving school ever. The teachers were always late and did a haphazard job. I'm super disappointed with their services - which are wayyyy too over priced anyways

Fantastic experience: A wonderful team, they are very patient with me, I had a hard time with the parallel parking but I nailed it the third time, thanks to all of your support and teaching me to.
