Fantastic experience: I recently attended 160 driving academy from January 28 to March 7 prior to that I never had any experience driving a tractor trailer or driving a manual. I will say the instructors are very knowledgeable and supportive to anyone with little to no experience and they care about their students growth. Overall it was a great experience.

Fantastic experience: I recently attended 160 Driving Academy, and I can't say enough good things about the experience. The teachers, Maggy and Joe, are absolutely amazing. If you want to pass, these two are the ones who will get you there. They are incredibly nice and supportive, making sure that no matter your skill set from day one, they will ensure you pass. Additionally, Kelsey in the office is fantastic. She is always there to clear up any questions or concerns you might have. Overall, it's a great place to learn and get your truck driving career started!

Fantastic experience: I attended 160 Driving Academy on my own time & on my own dime. I was stuck between choosing 160 or affordable CDL. I decided to visit both before committing to either one. When I visited affordable CDL I witnessed 15 students in the yard sharing one truck. I walked up to one of the students and asked how he liked the school. He complained to me how he shows up sometimes for hours on end & doesn’t even get to drive or practice his pre trip inspection. I asked another student & they said the same thing. I visited 160 driving academy the next day, when I showed up there was 3 or 4 students in the yard, 3 instructors & multiple trucks. I was greeted by Joe. (the yard boss) He introduced himself & pointed me in the direction I needed to go. I walked inside & was instantly greeted by Kelsey. That day I chose 160 driving academy. I was thoroughly impressed with how structured & planned out the entire process of me getting my class A was. Kelsey handled pretty much everything paperwork/DOT wise & all I had to do was show up & put the time/effort in. Joe is a great instructor, taught me a lot of pointers that I will hold with me forever when I’m behind the wheel. If you’re reading this, do not hesitate to enroll in 160 driving academy. Joe & Kelsey both deserve a bonus/pay increase!

Fantastic experience: I had so much fun learning here! Joe is a great instructor with lots of real time knowledge. I appreciate all the time he invested in making sure I was safe and passed! Kelsy made sure everything I needed was done! They so instrumental in me obtaining my CDL! Thank You guys so much! Waterford 160 is highly recommended from me!

Fantastic experience: I'd recommend 160 drive to anyone looking to get there cdl. Joe was great at answering any questions we had even being from rhode_island he got us the answers we need i felt confident going in for my test and passed first try. Kelsey in the office took care of all our paper work and anything we need to get done. Big thanks joe and kelsey for everything.

Fantastic experience: This is by far the best trucking School, from the office Kelsey is an absolute genius, Asia is a good instructor, Mr Joe is a legend, Mr kayl is master in instructing and a great mentor too, I love it there I got my CDL PERMIT first try, my CDL LICENSE first try too, they gave you everything I highly recommended

Fantastic experience: I’d highly recommend anyone to 160 driving academy over other local schools. Kelsey in the office made the paperwork and apt process needed super easy and helped with answering any questions I had politely. Joe and Kyle (yard instructors) trucking knowledge and patience made for a smooth 3 weeks in the yard telling you everything you need to know every step of the way. They care about every students success an make you feel like family.

Fantastic experience: Went to upgrade my cdl B to an A. And they work with you from start to finish getting your permit to your license. I recommend the Waterford location if you want to get in some good on the road hours. Joe is efficient and friendly, makes you feel comfortable behind the wheel.

Fantastic experience: I recently completed this driving program. It was the most amazing thing I've ever done. Would suggest without a doubt. Ian and Joe, the instructors, were outstanding; they treated their students with a great deal of care and patience, making sure you understood every aspect of the pre-trip. While driving the truck on the road, Joe made me feel completely at ease. which offered me great confidence when I had to take my road test. He can go into great depth about everything. I advise you to look no farther if you would like to enroll in this driving school. The office worker, Kelsey, is incredibly humble and kindhearted.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with 160, everyone was super nice and helpful! Joe can really ease your mind while on the road and Ian really is the pre trip master! Kelsey was super nice and helpful making appointments and keeping all my paperwork on track, would definitely recommend if you’re going to apply yourself!

Fantastic experience: I upgraded from a Class B to Class A. The first week in the classroom was easy to follow along with. Kelsey in the office was a sweet heart and would always help if needed. The outside yard time was great. Ian is a pre trip master. And Joe was great to be with on the road and showing the in’s and out’s for driving the truck out on the roads. It was a relatively easy course if you actually have your head on your shoulders and want it and apply yourself. If you need your CDL B or A then this is the place to get it!

Fantastic experience: It was a great school to attend, I upgraded my Class B CDL to a Class A CDL within 3-4 weeks with them. The people there work well to get you the knowledge needed to be successful at getting your CDL. Shoutout to Kelsey, Joe and Ian from the Waterford 160 school they were all great and very helpful during the process. Highly recommend 160 Driving Academy!

Negative experience: Terrible school. They tell you a 5/6 weeks to get your cdl my husband started his course in march and still has yet to be given a test date and it’s may. They make you incorrect appointments horrible communication, put you on standby just to send you home with out testing , barely any on the road time. Horrible horrible school

Fantastic experience: Had a very good experience. 40 hrs classroom/ 120 hrs yard time/ 5+ hrs on the road. Ian is the pre-trip master. Joe gets you on the road several times before test. Kelcey coordinates everything with DMV. Really helpful group. Would recommend to anyone going for CDL or upgrading.

Fantastic experience: I really enjoyed going to school here! Kelsey was very helpful setting me up with the program and being supportive. I really enjoyed the online class and the yard time was a blast! Joe was a very good instructor and explains things to you so you can understand. He keeps you calm and encourages you every step of the way! I definitely recommend coming to this school, just apply yourself and you will pass first time! Thank you 160!!!

Fantastic experience: Just graduated from here. 100% would recommend. Ian will make sure you understand the pre-trip down to the littlest detail. Joe is also an awesome teacher. He can explain pretty much anything and has some great stories and advice. If you want to learn how to be a trucker this is definitely the school to go to.

Fantastic experience: I am a recent graduate and my experience there at 160 driving school was amazing! I had 3 instructors. Ian who was one of the smartest people I've ever met. He made pretrip and general knowledge of trucks something we practiced daily until it was second nature. Vic was great as well. He is a veteran trucker with valuable real life experience that you can take with you to your job and what to look out for. As well as helpful in the yard with manuvers and techniques. Then Scott. This dude is amazing, he's motivational, super knowledgable, and and will help you with any question or technique you're having trouble with in a second. I learned my downshifting and double clutching in about 8 hours with him haha. I've made friends I still talk to and learned valuable info I can take with me everywhere. BUT, the instructors can only take you so far. You still have to put in the time and effort. They will pave the road for you, but you still have to drive! Lol I sound like a paid sponser, but I can assure you, I'm just a super happy graduate. Thanks a lot guys

Negative experience: So I decided to call 160 driving academy to get my CDL, the office from NJ called me back and scheduled a meeting at the Waterford CT. location. 2 hours later called me back to confirm my appointment. However I showed up to the meeting 15 minutes early on the day they had confirmed to be met with a woman who had no idea that I was scheduled to sign up. Furthermore she was supposed to help with financial aid, and just gave me a phone number to call to get assistance from an outside entity. The number she gave me was incorrect. I then called the NJ office and left a message asking what was going on, they still have not replied, they will not be getting my business. I suggest you go elsewhere for your CDL as well

Fantastic experience: Great experience. Instructors are very patient and understanding. Talk you through the hard times and check in with you daily, to check your progress. As a mother, and a woman stepping into a man dominated field I had zero knowledge of mechanics and left with a whole new set of understanding of the trucking field, And a great respect of the industry as a whole. These guys work diligently everyday to get you motivated about truck driving , and answer all questions about the industry. With their own years of experience they really bring a real life experience to the forefront of their teaching. Not only are they great as teachers, they also value their students opinions . They ask what can we do to improve here at the school. As a student that makes the whole experience even better. You can voice your opinion and they take it into account, and even implement the suggestion. Thank you to the team at 160 you guys were motivating and supportive!! I will value my time at the school and miss my school fam!

Fantastic experience: Awesome.instructors, they even keep it cool when you lose yours in frustration while learning. Ian does a great job for teaching pretrip. It was nice to take his version and some of the other instructors and make it your own to remember. Eddie, Jorge and Joe were the ones I worked with the most and they were all wonderful. And Alysha is awesome too!!! All of them were so helpful, I couldn't have done it without them. A month and half after passing and I am starting a new career with my class b cdl!

Fantastic experience: The place you want to be if you, not only want your CDL, but also become a REAL and SAFE truck driver. Branch manager professional, amazing, and attends to your needs in a timely manner. Amazing instructors with years of experience and knowledge. They make sure you come out of the school with a CDL, knowledge of how to really control the truck and handle the real world, and most importantly a better and smarter driver.
