Fantastic experience: As a university student with a busy schedule, it was very hard to arrange any lessons with other agencies, however at Jenkins Drivers Ed, they were always super accommodating and were quick to answer any inquiries and were available to reschedule immediately. Furthermore, my instructor Coach, was patient, understanding and helpful, as he gave me tips and did not make me feel under pressure or stupid as employees from the MVD have made me feel. Will definitely recommend to any non-standard student, who is looking for a great driver's school!

Negative experience: DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME on this school. They are UNPROFESSIONAL, and they do not care about the SAFETY of your child.
Teaching a youthful driver the rules of the road & preparing them to drive safely requires a good teaching/learning relationship between educators, parents & students. The state mandates specific requirements for educators, parents, & students & not meeting those requirements hinders the driving process. Teaching our students to drive safely is very important to us as we (family, friends, & loved ones) all share the roads together.
Negative experience: Best hours to accommodate sports schedule. However, if you have a busy schedule and need an instructor to teach your teen to drive, this is not the place. Their hour drive sessions are split between 2 students so they only get 30 minutes. Instructors are not willing to teach on the road, they expect drive time to be done with a parent. Not worth it for the price. Used a different driving school with our older 2 and we will be going back there for the youngest.
Our drive sessions were 1.5hrs for 2 students or 50min for 1 student. Research shows that drive sessions beyond 45--50min are counterproductive for novice drivers. The state mandates 50hrs of supervised driving. We spend 7hrs w/each student & after each drive session parents practice w/their youthful drivers for mastery so they can progress onto the next drive session. Therefore leaving the parents w/43 additional hrs of driving. Our drive sessions begin in neighborhoods & progress to 4-lane roads, Coors Blvd, & Paseo based on students ability to navigate those roads. Our #1 priority is the saftey of all our students. Fantastic experience: Just found out this place is still around. For nearly 15 years since I sat in Tina’s class at Rio Rancho High, her voice in the back of my head has kept me out of trouble on the road. I’ve parallel parked on hills in the tightest spaces in big cities thanks to her lessons. If you’re looking for an instructor that teaches you the important stuff that stays with you for years, this is the place.

Fantastic experience: these people are THEE real deal! i came in to finally get my license at 24 after being too scared to try to learn and i just got it today! they were super accommodating with my time constraints (i would be leaving the state really soon) and when i was like "it's okay if i'm not able to learn enough to get my license before i have to leave" they were like "no we can definitely get you there" and they did. christina and barbara are friendly, patient, and mindful of the anxieties that come with learning to drive. i never felt pressured to do something i didn't feel comfortable doing while also receiving encouragement and positive affirmations when tackling new experiences on the road. they made learning to drive as painless (sometimes enjoyable??) as it could be. i highly HIGHLY recommend!
Fantastic experience: So far, great. They have the best reviews. They were also the only ones to respond to our inquieries. Slightly more than other places but worth it for the customer service. Update: Still going great. Have met every requirement so far!

Fantastic experience: Yesterday was the day for my road test and thank God, I passed, and I thank these very people as well- Christina, Barbara, and LeAnn who did a great job on teaching their students like me. So grateful that it is the driving school where my husband sent me to learn how to drive. I came from the Philippines and is zero knowledge when it comes of driving, but now, with the help of these wonderful driving teachers, I am finally a licensed driver. Yayyy! I feel confident and was fearless even on my first 45 minutes driving lesson, that is because it feels like it is just a family member of mine or a best friend who teach me how to drive. They’re just so calm, patient, and friendly and will teach you the right thing to do. This is the right and the best driving school to go. If anyone of you planning on getting your license too, enroll yourself at Jenskins Drivers Ed, take the written exam, pass your road test and be a licensed driver like me. Good luck!

I called Jenkins after I had a very poor experience with the MVD Express, and I was shocked at the friendly, willing-to-help person who answered all of my questions and gave me the confidence to start my drivers test! Much appreciated customer service, very fast, all around a 10/10 experience so far! I will be scheduling a drivers test soon.

Fantastic experience: I can not tell you how much better this program is than Old School of Driving. My daughter did drivers ed here and it was outstanding! Great instruction to really prepare students for the road. My nephew is taking Old School of Driving in Rio Rancho and it has been horrible horrible horrible. They just play videos. Bad communication and preparation. It’s sad. I highly recommend you choose Jenkins for your child!!!
Fantastic experience: I had Ms. Jenkins as my driver's ed teacher many years ago. She is the best driving instructor - very patient and took her time to teach me the correct driving techniques. I felt very safe and knowledgeable with her teaching me how to drive.
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Jenkins’s Driver’s Ed, not only are the schedules flexible but the teachers are fantastic. Even with the new way of teaching due to Covid-19 they still manage to get all the students the help they need.

Fantastic experience: My kids had a great experience here. The classes were fun & the driving practice times were flexible. Highly recommend using Jenkins for a great learning environment.
Fantastic experience: True professionals in every sense of the word! They truly care about kids and their safety, on & off the road. There are schools out there who rush through the program (against NM regulations) and throw kids out on the road with little to none behind the wheel instruction. This is not one of them. As with any state sanctioned business, there is paperwork that must be filed and kept for records. Organization is evident, and they protect their paperwork as they should. After all, it holds very sensitive information: Birth dates, social security numbers, addresses and driver's license/state ID numbers. As a mom of 2 teenagers, I appreciate educators who believe as I do.... That it truly takes a village to raise our kids into great human beings! Thank you Jenkins Driving School!

Negative experience: Call for prices no one answers and your directed to a website with no information on prices... guess my daughters are not going here
Negative experience: This is an effective business only when you are a current customer. However, if you need any help after completion of the program, such as a new print-out of your certification, don't expect them to treat you as a valued customer. When I spoke with them, they berated me for calling twice, and said they'd get to it the next week. This was over a month and a half since this was promised to me. Apparently, they only value you when you are currently paying them.
Kayla, you took drivers ed in 2014. The pp wrk is stored & secured off site due to the sensitive data. It does take time to find & retrieve, especially when you don't know the month you finished class. The state mandates that we find your original paperwork before we issue you another one. We have to go through every student in 2014 to find your paperwork. I am sorry we can not get things as quickly as you would like. Also, I am so sorry that your license recently expired, but you did have four (4+) years to take care of this, before the expiration date. And we can not give you a "print out" you must have newly issued documents.
I remember you, and you know how much I/we care about every student. You also know we will do everything in our power to help, but again, we have to follow state protocol. I would appreciate that you base your rating on what we do for students and not on having to retrieve data four(4+) years later. Staff is looking for your pp work and I truly feel we do not deserve a one (1) star, especially with the time it takes to locate your data. Also, you called 5+times when we were on the phone w/another parent. That makes your call look as a 911 call trying to get through, since we have students, parents, & family who call during emergency situations.
Love you dearly, and I hope you change this one (1) star. A one (1) star rating is not conducive to what we are trying to do for you. I feel that bad reviews should be based on things of our fault. This is my business and you know how important it is to us, and you know how important every student is to us. Again, hope you change the 1 star and I hope you are doing well. Fantastic experience: Ms. Jenkins taught me how to drive a standard in 10 minutes. She also taught me how to protect myself and be the safest driver possible. Ms. Jenkins we love you!❤ Thank you for your hard work and patience in the training.
Fantastic experience: We had one child go to McGinnis but our last two went with Tina Jenkins. Tina is AMAZING! My children love her. She especially worked well with schedules of high school athletes who sometimes had to miss (she was flexible enough to help them get their driving in). I feel like my children were well-prepared and are both good drivers (confident and no tickets, so far, and they are 26 and 21).
Negative experience: You have to wonder about a business that doesn't take credit cards.
This allows us to keep or costs down & we forward that savings onto our students through school sponsorships, such as sports, camps, & school trips. This also keeps our fees low & we have not had to raise our prices in almost 3 yrs. I understand everyone uses cards, but we choose not to because of the cost to use them. The cost is $375 plus tax. You would have classes to help prepare you for the test. We perform the MVD test at Jenkins Drivers Ed (calmer environment than the MVD), teach how to drive main on roads, Coors, Paseo, The Big I, downtown to learn to parallel park,and issue the MVD road test.
