DrivingMBA is a driver training school for teens and adults. Our driver education programs are designed for teen drivers, professional drivers, mature drivers, and drivers that need special attention. Our driving simulators are the perfect tool to allow novice and experienced drivers to make mistakes and learn from them in a safe environment. In the “real world,” that isn’t possible without significant consequences. “Good Enough” isn’t Good Enough. For us, driver education and training is not just a business; it’s our passion. Our mission is to teach driving skills that save lives.

Our comment from DrivingSchools.Directory about DrivingMBA:

DrivingMBA is a reputable driving school in the United States, known for its comprehensive and detailed programs designed to cultivate safe and responsible drivers. Many parents express appreciation for the school's advanced simulator sessions which allow students to gain valuable experience before hitting the actual road. Parents have described the instructors as knowledgeable, patient, and supportive, emphasizing the importance they place on equipping students with the vital skills needed to navigate various driving scenarios.

The school's approach is thorough and includes critical aspects of driver safety, with many users noting that their children felt well-prepared for their driving tests after completing the curriculum. Reviews highlight specific instructors like Kayla, who reportedly provide direct and effective feedback to help students improve their skills.

While the quality of DrivingMBA's instruction has received praise, some reviews point to challenges with communication and scheduling, suggesting that prospective customers exercise diligence when enrolling. Concerns have also been raised regarding the cost of additional lessons and the availability of certain classes, which some find inconvenient.

Yet, despite these concerns, many parents recommend DrivingMBA as a great investment in their children's safety and driving education. The emphasis on parental involvement and rigorous practice requirements, like the recommended 100 hours of driving outside of sessions, are seen as key factors in shaping responsible drivers.

In conclusion, DrivingMBA provides a well-rounded training experience for new drivers, making it an excellent choice for parents looking to ensure their children receive a solid foundation in safe driving practices.

Fantastic experience: Their simulators are awesome, nice to get time being the wheel before doing for real. Cool instructors too.

Fantastic experience: The driving school was super in depth and detailed with the needed requirements to develop a safe teen driver. All of the sessions with the simulator were helpful for her to prepare her for her behind the wheel. Her behind the wheel sessions were thorough and allowed her to build on her skills. Her last two drives were with Kayla and she was great and being direct with her on what she needed to improve and ultimately pass her test. Thank you Driving MBA for all your help with assisting my daughter with her license, much appreciated!!

Fantastic experience: Great experience. Valuable lessons for our daughter

Negative experience: The quality of DrivingMBA Scottsdale has declined so much and absolutely disappointing! Evaluation sheet was not sent on time; call was not returned after promised window; coach quality was very inconsistent... I was told my daughter was ready to take the test after 4th on-road lesson. During the test, the DrivingMBA evaluator asked her to do the tricky roundabout turn which none of the coaches ever taught her - apparently this was the main reason she failed the test. She scored 84 but failed the test (though 80 is the passing score)! The solution? "You can PAY MORE for more lessons as she did not pass our test." SERIOUSLY?

Fantastic experience: My son has recently completed the defensive driving simulations. It was extremely beneficial in increasing his awareness, confidence, and judgment and decision making. DrivingMBA offers a very detailed and extensive program ensuring that our teens are safe on the road. Very grateful!

Negative experience: Whoa!! Absolutely awful interaction on the phone when trying to receive information and pricing. The person I spoke with was extraordinarily unprofessional and ignorant. We will definitely be going to a different driving school.

Fantastic experience: Went here back in like 2013. Simulators were very cool and passed my driver test 1st try. Teacher i had back then was a bit creepy but other than that it was great.

Fantastic experience: I 100% recommend Driving MBA for anyone who has a child learning to drive. We loved the entire experience, from the first simulators, to the on road driving and real-time coaching, to the defensive driving simulators. Our son learned how to drive defensively, and how to approach all types of real-life road situations. We are so happy and will definitely be using this same program when our younger son gets his permit. The instructors are super knowledgeable and have a great way of explaining best practices as well as how to handle even the most challenging scenarios. We are very impressed!

Negative experience: Sent an email to inquire about pricing per the site instructions but never heard back. Don't trust my teen to a driving school that is non responsive after a few weeks.

Fantastic experience: I hope that this review helps to ease the stress of your child learning to drive safely. Our son has Autism and needless to say was a bit late to the driving game (23 yoa) While we did not care if he EVER drove, we knew that it was inevitably a necessity. We researched for weeks and finally decided to enroll him in the Driving MBA program. It was the best decision we could have ever made. Everyone there is very patient and accommodating. The program is INTENSE to say the least. It is focused on safety and a very rigorous program that even included us as parents committing to doing the "homework" after each session. Homework was in the form of driving. They ask for 100 hours outside of the program. The DMV requires only 30 total! It took us over a year, but last week our son passed his driver's license test administered by Driving MBA. It was almost 2 hours! Again...DMV driving tests are 30 minutes at best. While it will still be a while before he is ready to hit the road alone, we know that he has received the best training we could ask for. His instructors, Navar and Dawn were amazing and the owner Maria really takes pride and is involved to ensure that only the strictest guidelines are followed. Yes...It is a bit expensive and very involved, but the cost of knowing that we have prepared him as best as we can for this experience is nothing in comparison to receiving a random phone call from a police officer or even worse hospital with not so great news We are happy and blessed to have found Driving MBA. You will be too.

Negative experience: Go elsewhere, not worth the cost. Asked to get my daughter highway time, they agreed and then didn’t do it, took her on a straight stretch of freeway and drove her around their office. The instructor told my daughter he doesn’t like to coach while they are driving, ummm isn’t that the point?

Fantastic experience: In a state that doesn't require any type of "driving training", finding your company was a true gift. I am very happy with both the communication I have had with the instructors, as well as the instruction. Thank you DrivingMBA.

Negative experience: Britney from this office called to tell me about the $75 fee for my son missing his defensive driving session today. When I told her that he had just been in a car accident and was very shook up all she did was go on and on about their fees and cancellation policy! She never even bothered to ask how my 16-year-old son was who was in a car accident who has been in their driving classes for months! Note that there are cancellation fees and apparently these people don’t care about circumstances - even that of a car accident involving one of their students! Good luck to you and your children in finding a good driving course

Fantastic experience: Decent place Ive heard. AZ is one of the safer states for driving, doesnt crack the top 10 list of fatal accidents per capita. We have many good drivers, better than places like California in my experience which requires license renewal every 5 years. Problem is mostly just some rude drivers here and there, they know how to drive when a cop is around so its not an education issue. Hope this places teaches road rage to the youngsters.

Negative experience: While the curriculum is excellent, they don't make it easy to do business. I can't not think of one time I called to schedule where they answered the phone. When they did return a call there was no sense of urgency and willingness to help schedule. We paid for the full program and didn't even finish because it was too difficult to make it work.

DrivingMBA
DrivingMBA

Leslie, I am sorry this has been your experience. We work very hard to make sure we get calls handled same day. We, like the rest of the country, have been short staffed literally all year and continue to work on hiring. If you called in the last 3 days we have had our staff in training and we are behind on answering calls. We will contact you directly. I can assure you it is not about a sense of urgency, making sure our students are prepared for the road is our #1 priority.

Tammy Watt 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: Great program, I love that children are taught on a simulator. I know it's not the same as being on the road but it gives them a sense of what it's like to make mistakes before they get on the road. I like that they involve the parents every step of the way, by making them come in after a class to talk with them about their child's progress and by making parents attend a parent class. They teach your child and you how to handle this big step in their life and yours. Amazing staff and an outstanding experience. — Tammy Watt

Fantastic experience: This was a great decision for our daughter. The day she recevied her permit we went out driving and she was driving good until we got home and drove through the garage door. She was terrified. She would not even talk about driving school for fear of hurting the instructor. It took us a couple of months to get her to look at driving schools on line. She decided to sign up with DrivingMBA. Best choice ever! She still did not drive much as she was doing the simulators classes. But after her first on the road drive she was ready to go. She has become very confident driver. She enjoyed the defensive driving lessons and feels very confident she can handle any situation. I highly recommend DrivingMBA!

Fantastic experience: Well, what can I say about this Driving MBA school. This driving school is above and beyond as it has taught me how to drive safely and responsibly on my own terms. All of the entire staff members including the instructors are really nice people and they take their time to explain all of the complete methods when it comes to being behind the wheel learning how to drive. Driving MBA offers all kinds of lessons, courses, training, and everything else when it comes to driving any type of motor vehicle. This is not just a driving school for teenagers but it is also for adults too. Driving MBA school is for all ages admitted from teenagers to adults. Basically, driving can be very dangerous and handing car keys to your teenage kids before they are really ready for the responsibility to get behind the wheel could have very dire consequences. If you want your teenage/adult son or daughter to learn how to drive a vehicle in a very safe responsible way, then you must take them here. In my honest opinion, Driving MBA is top notch and they are way better than any other driving schools out there. If you go to any other driving schools out there, they are not the same as this school right here. Driving MBA has all kinds of programs and everything to offer on the table to help anyone become a safe driver such as myself. Recently, I have graduated from this Driving MBA school and I am finally on my way to become a new driver in a more safe responsible way. I am a special needs person with autism who has wanted to learn how to drive for a long time and the time had finally came to pass. Driving MBA also has special needs programs available as well. I want to give special thanks to all of the staff members as well as the instructors for teaching me all kinds of things in regards to driving and all that great stuff. If I could give this place between 10 to 20 stars, I would but 5 stars will do though. Sometimes, driving can become a very daunting task at first when you start out but please don't panic or fret because you got all of these wonderful instructors to teach you everything in many ways that there is to know about driving a motor vehicle of all types. They can help you lead a better life as a new driver and they will never let you down in any way. They can also make learning how to drive so much fun because driving is a privilege and fun. Otherwise, I very highly recommend this place for new future drivers and many others who are willing to learn how to drive without hesitations. Driving MBA is one of the best driving schools at my mom and dad's expenses as it was a time and money well spent. Again, highly highly recommended. Marko John Gadza aka John Gadza Jr.

Fantastic experience: Learning the vital lessons on road safety and the do's and don't while operating a vehicle - is going to be with your teenager for life. The team at Driving MBA truly take the time to ensure they deliver on these critical lessons to your child. I was truly impressed with the quality of their lessons, the responsibilities of driving class (theoretical), their simulation labs and the on-road instructions. Their instructors are ALL truly amazing, every one of them. They making the learning a lot of fun. The experience from the time we called in to enroll, all the way thru a few months later when our child got his on-road test completed - was above-par. Driving MBA exceeded our expectations. Yes, there are other, perhaps cheaper driving school around the valley. But, if you are truly vested in teaching your child the good habits and lessons of being on the road - look no further! Driving MBA is really good!

Negative experience: The fact that owners are trolling ratings websites speaks for itself. Calling my underage daughter as a client out by name is probanly illegal and for fure unethical and we ask you delete this post. She was made to feel small and belittled by staff enough already (no names mentioned) If this Is your best staff (carrying a michael kors designer purse so they definitely are paid very well) no wonder your business model is failing. So sad and unethical. Not ro mention your gauging people who miss couses at least $175 on their filed credit card... per your last email to all your clients dated yesterday. So sad and wrong. In addition to a waste of money... Waste of money Horrible instruction After months of work failed my daughter Passed AZ dmv ourselves no problem Terrible instruction!!! Dont waste the $$

DrivingMBA
DrivingMBA

I am assuming that you are Elizabeth's mom, since your first name spelling is the same. I have to assume because you are using a different last name in this post. I am not going to apologize for the fact that your daughter did not pass her final exam. It is made very clear at the time of registration that there is no guarantee that a student will pass the final exam. We do everything in our power to provide students with the instruction and tools to become safe licensed drivers, however, just as any learning institution (the high school she is attending and any university or college) there are not guarantees that because they complete the course they will pass the test. The tuition you paid was for her instruction, not the guarantee of a license. A student must retain 80% in all areas as our Mission is to put a strong, competent novice driver on the road for her safety and the safety of others. Elizabeth took her final exam with the best instructor on my staff. Her actions such as coming into her turns too slowly and not accelerating out of them in a more timely manner put her in danger. She made lane changes in front of vehicles as they were accelerating too fast towards her and she made right turns with traffic approaching at too high of speed, causing the other traffic to have to slow down and change lanes to avoid hitting her. She exhibited the same type of behavior as she was merging onto a freeway. Her gap assessment on turns was very pressured and she executed a left hand turn with traffic approaching too quickly. She was rushing her judgement when it came to gap assessments in all of these situations. Yes our final exam is more rigorous than the one at the MVD and is based on national standards. The exam at the MVD is based on minimal standards, if that is what you want to base whether or not your daughter is ready to be a solo driver on the roadway, that is your prerogative. We, however, stand by our assessment and would encourage you to continue to work with her to help her develop the necessary judgement and decision making skills to be safe on the road.

Fantastic experience: Three of my four children went through Driving MBA, and how I wish that the fourth one had also! From the moment I came kicking and screaming to the mandatory parent class that I THOUGHT I was too busy to take (boy was I wrong), I have been impressed with this company, their staff, and their services on every level. The parent class was informative, sobering, and worth every minute (and I ended up taking it twice), and helped me and my husband to not only enhance our kids' experience, but it also helped US become better drivers as well! Over the past 8 years, we have worked with several Driving MBA instructors, and we've gleaned valuable help from every single one of them. They were all excellent teachers and very thorough, and everything they did was geared toward establishing good habits and SAFE drivers. One woman in particular would not let my youngest son get away with ANYTHING that would compromise his or others' safety to the point that he complained about it at home (those teenage boys sometimes think they know more than adults, right?), but in the end he came to respect his teacher and is now one of our best drivers. I would be happy to talk to any parent who is considering putting their child through Driving MBA. It was more expensive than other options out there, but I remain convinced that our family could not have spent our money on anything more worthwhile than the best program we've found to produce safe drivers and afford us the peace of mind that we have taken steps to protect our children. — Valeri Marsh

Negative experience: Really disappointed. First quoted a rate of $130 for a single session with a specific instructor and after completing a large number of forms, upped the price for the same service to $200. PRICE GAUGING! REALLY DISAPPOINTED! Thus is inpite of having used them in the past!

DrivingMBA
DrivingMBA

Mrs. Vachaspati,

Your daughter requires that only specialists go out with her, therefore, the price for on-road is higher. I have two specific Specialists on my staff that are trained and compensated beyond my other instructors who go out with typical students. It would not be in your daughters best interest nor in the best interest of my instructors to have her on the road with instructors that are not trained to work with students that have challenges. Sorry you feel this way, but it is the only way we will work with her again. You can go to other Specialist schools and the cost will be higher.

Fantastic experience: Both of our daughters took the course and benefited greatly. I believe that my husband and I also gleaned a lot of benefit from their training, especially how to be a better ride-a-long parent and ways to improve the safety of our own driving. The instructors really care about having a new *safe* driver on the road and are willing to go the pace of the student. They have instructors that can be especially mindful of the issues facing anxious drivers so that is a plus.

Lee Sera 8 years ago

Fantastic experience: I have two daughters that attended the Driving MBA program. Their defensive driving simulators taught our girls the importance of scanning, staying alert to potential driving hazards, and stopping before an intersection (1st line of a crosswalk) in order to keep a safe distance from potential red-light runners (AZ ranks #2 in the country). Arizona is a melting pot of drivers - some who learned years ago on rural areas of this country, some who forget the importance of using turn signals, and some who just don't give a hoot as to the example they are setting for our young people. Speed limits are ignored in this "What's In It For Me" society where everyone is in a hurry to get somewhere because of poor planning. The instructors and owners of Driving MBA are amazing, patient souls to partner with to teach your child to be a responsible, alert driver. Learning to drive is a process and we are forever grateful to Driving MBA for helping us put qualified drivers on the road!

Positive experience: We really love this driving school because they are very thorough and they have excellent teachers and fabulous simulator programs with state-of-the-art computer technology that prepares kids for all kinds of traffic situations. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is because they do not offer a parking class in Gilbert. The class is only offered once a month on a Sunday morning very early and it is 45 minutes away in North Scottsdale. Had I known this I would not have signed up for the class but it is now non-refundable. Kids are proven to not learn as well early in the morning and this time of day and day of the week and location are extremely inconvenient for us. I was told it's never offered and Gilbert because not enough people sign up but it should be clearly stated in advance that this class is only offered once a month on Sunday morning at the location on the other side of town. or they should start offering it in Gilbert for whomever signs up!

DrivingMBA
DrivingMBA

Stephanie, I replied to you on the Gilbert review. Offering the clinic for whomever signs up is not possible. Students do get parking instruction during their on-road lessons. If you weren't told about when it was offered and where, I apologize, and we will be glad to refund the amount paid for the clinic.

Sheryl Bateman 9 years ago

Positive experience: I had high hopes for this program, but in the end it was disappointing. I think most of the driving instructors are excellent and their mission of turning out safe drivers is terrific, but the execution was mediocre at best. We were told at the parent class that they would not just pass a student through the program, but whenever we asked about our daughter repeating a simulation lab or on-road session that she had not "passed," we were always told that she should just keep going. I would have been happy to pay for her to repeat the things she did not do well in, but I could not persuade schedulers/receptionists to let her do this. In the end, she was given a certificate of completion, but she did not feel confident about her driving ability and frankly neither did we. I tried emailing and calling to set up additional lessons and was willing to pay for those, but after many days of no response and then playing phone tag, we decided to look around and see if we could find someone who really wanted our business. Today we signed our daughter up for a program at NControl Driving School and will review that program after we have completed it. If you decide to go with DrivingMBA, I would recommend doing the Busy Parents program so you get more professional on-road instruction and making sure that you ask to ride along for those sessions, so you know how to instruct your child. You are expected to do 20 hours of driving with your child between each on-road training/evaluation session.

DrivingMBA
DrivingMBA

Parents don't need to do the Busy Parent program to achieve results. They do, however, have to work with us and follow our recommendations if they want their student to continue to move forward. If students only get the training with little to no practice in between lessons, they will not develop the necessary skills to be a safe and responsible driver and this is made abundantly clear in our parent class. It is no different than anything else, if you don't put in the practice, you won't get better. As far as repeating simulation lessons, there is a point where there is diminished return and we need to move to the next phase. There are some students who struggle and we assess every step of the way. We do not want parents to continue to spend money when their student very well may have plateaued. In rare cases it is best to wait and pick it up later. In this case, in our professional opinion, the student continued to struggle and yes she did receive a certificate that stated she completed the package that was purchased, because she did complete the training. We were, however, in the process of trying to set up a meeting with this family to determine next steps given the students lack of progress. Yes, there was some phone tag happening, as Kathleen Ryan, who is the director of Instruction and Curriculum, who handles these cases is very busy. We do however, follow-up with e-mails and do our best to get in contact with parents on a timely basis.

Fantastic experience: Both my teen have completed the Driving MBA program. It was worth the time, money and effort involved on our part. Natalie Haddad 10 years ago

Positive experience: It was extremely helpful. Especially the simulators, since I had never driven before, it was a very good way to start, instead of having to go straight to driving with an actual car. I advise everybody to do the same. You really learn to be a safe driver, even though it is a bit time consuming, it's definitely worth it.

Fantastic experience: This is our second child going through this thorough program. The simulators and defensive driving experiences offer real life situations which are invaluable to new drivers. The instructors are professional and offer constructive corrections that are effective for young teens. Driving MBA makes consistent reminder calls and reaches out if classes open up sooner. In addition, before the student can schedule a new drive they must accomplish 20 hours of driving for a total of 60 hours of driving. Double what the MVA requires.

Fantastic experience: I found this to be an exceptional experience for my teen. It is truly a shame a course such as this is not REQUIRED in order to obtain a license in AZ. The knowledge my teen received is something I could not relay to them. After driving for 23 years we become very complacent. TOO comfortable believing we can handle anything when we are behind the wheel. Things become very robotic inside the car when you have been a driver so long. I wanted my teen to learn to drive from a source that could give them the knowledge I myself have long since ignored. Be honest with yourselves. Is there such a thing as a rolling stop? Yellow doesn't mean speed up! Who said we could drive 10 miles over the speed limit? The cost of this program is so minimal compared to the tragedies that occur on our roadways everyday. Their safety is more important to me. My teen is a safe driver, I feel comfortable with them driving. Even though the course has ended the learning will never stop! I will continue to work with them, and make sure the knowledge they have learned sticks. I have learned alot on this year long journey with my new driver. I wish more people could find a way to give this opportunity to their new drivers. So much more information then I could ever give, and a walk up call to myself as well. I can't thank MBA enough for their dedication in teaching our youth! Much appreciation

Positive experience: I sent my son here after trying to teach my first three children on our own. I thought it was a thorough program. Alittle expensive however, for the same program we used to get for free in the schools. If it were a bit cheaper more people might be able to take advantage of it. I think the program itself was great and the staff was professional throughout.
