Negative experience: I was in class almost a full week then they told me I couldn’t go to school there because I was 18 and out of state after asking them and telling them multiple times I was 18 and out of state.

Positive experience: Long Island was very weak & nachos were dry underneath the top layer

Positive experience: TL;DR affordable, good instructors, but only stick shift trucks when I was there, still had fun and got a job The instructors here are very good at what they do, and will take turns teaching, so if one instructor's teaching style doesn't work for you, another's will. I learned a lot while I was there, had fun, and was able to get hired as a driver almost immediately. When I went there, they only had manual transmission trucks, which I couldn't quite get a handling of. When it came time to take the test I was worried I'd have to take it elsewhere to get an auto, as I only had enough money left for one shot, but the Trainco staff was able to pull some strings for me an find an automatic truck, which I am forever grateful for, especially since Trainco has pretty decent tuition prices. The trucks are pretty rough, but it's a bunch of beginners driving semi trucks, so that's to be expected. Overall, I greatly enjoyed my time.

Fantastic experience: Trainco has a outstanding training program I received my Class A, 9 years ago, I had plenty of time behind the wheel and was prepared for the test

Fantastic experience: If you take their class, it will be clear that they want you to pass the test here. Their testing is objective and fair without preference/bias.

Fantastic experience: Great experience! Instructors are very informative and lots of one on one training. Sharon is very helpful and everyone wants you to succeed. Nothing is sugar coated and they are honest with your performance and where you need to be. Cost and training are best value you can find.

Fantastic experience: I checked out several local CDL training facilities because I was paying out of pocket and wanted to get the best training for my money. After speaking with speaking with Sharon, I decided to go with Trainco. She is very knowledgable and went the extra mile answering all of my questions. Russ is a great instructor and makes sure you are prepared for your vehicle inspection, skills (trailer backing) and road test. Pat with over a million miles of road experience helped with advice and a few tricks of the trade. You will get a lot of time behind the wheel at this school. I passed without any problems and I had no prior truck driving experience. Money well spent! If your looking for an excellent CDL school Trainco is the one you want.

Negative experience: Since the State Instructor works for the school it is in the schools best interest to Fail you on the pretrip/airbrake test so they can charge you again to retake the test. I paid $495 to take a class b course and a road test. During the course we went over the Airbrake test with the instructor maybe twice for each student due to the fact that every student is sharing the truck so you never have enough practice doing the airbrake check to get it down pat if your not already employed somewhere driving truck and going over your airbrake test daily. The rest of the day was spent walking around the truck practicing the pretrip inspection that youll never get to do if you dont get past the airbrake test. But guess what just about everyone fails their first time due to the Airbrake test. All the students in the class share the truck they learn on. So you are not able to spend much time going over the airbrake tests to make sure you got it down pat. I had class in Taylor, Michigan and tested in Taylor Michigan and Failed in Taylor Michigan. after I failed I paid the State Examiner to test with the school again the next week and he had the keys to the building and took my money and scheduled me another test with the school so I think its safe to say he works for and with the school to get them more money. IDK. I think the entire system is a scam.

Fantastic experience: My experience at Trainco was a lot better than I have anticipated. The setup is two instructors with an average of two incoming students every week. Overall there is no more than eight students at a time, giving students the opportunity to get a lot of driving and parking experience. The most difficult task for most students is learning to back the trailer into a spot from a 90 degree approach. I failed my driving test the first time due to crawling in the intersection to turn left on a blinking yellow arrow signal that ended up turning red. At least I passed the second time. You are guaranteed to laugh during those three weeks. I do feel sorry for students from other CDL schools that come to test on small class A semi which only has a six speed manual transmission, a 20-30 foot flatbed trailer, with a cap speed of 55 mph. I drove it once, it feels like driving a minivan to me, the manual transmission is also like a car transmission, you don't have to double clutch. Most students that come from other schools fail most of the time with testing in that truck, which is such a poor setup, a setup for failure. In conclusion, most of the time you will be in a truck instead of sitting around dwindling your thumbs (Reputations of some other schools I've heard about). Also make sure you are never late. If you miss enough time, you will have to pay $100 per hour of missed time. Also if you see a Swift Driver on the road, WATCH OUT! :D

Fantastic experience: I came to this place shattered and they were all hospitable and welcoming, the 2 weeks that have been their have been the most rewarding weeks .My 1st instructor was so negative , he would make me feel so down but with the help of my 2nd instructor Lance who always encouraged me to push on and was always by my side am so thrilled and would definitely recommend this place 100%

Fantastic experience: I thought I was all smart and all a couple of years ago when I went in cold for my CDL test. Well, that didn't work out as planned. After taking the test prep class at Trainco though, I pretty much aced the test. The instructors are knowledgeable and reinforce all the pertinent information needed to successfully test. I wouldn't hesitate one bit to recommend Trainco to anyone wishing to get their CDL.

Fantastic experience: I came to Trainco on recommendation from a coworker, I took the driving class before the test, my instructors name was Martha, she was a very nice person whom answered all of our questions and educated us thoroughly. During my test Jason was my examiner, he was extremely patient and friendly, I was nervous before the examination but he made me feel at ease. Thank you Trainco for helping me succeed during this next chapter in my life!

Samantha Greene 6 years ago

Negative experience: They may be good to their own students but please go elsewhere for a private test, they will fail you and take your money when you shouldn't have failed, there are several other people reviewing who say the same.. They use a 28 foot flat bed with a ssingl axle tractor, a short combo is harder then a 48 or 53 foot due it turning so quickly, that's not why I failed, got me on a bs technicality. I was also informed it would be a 7 speed transmission, it was actually a 6, but seriously no one trains on a 6 or 7? Retesting in a few days, won't be with train co

Fantastic experience: I took the cdl class b day class and it helped me big time. It was well worth the money and the instructor was very professional. It helped me prepare me for my test, plus the staff was very helpful. I'm thinking about taking my cdl class a there.

Fantastic experience: Today, July 31st, I just passed my road test at trainco. At first, I struggled and struggled, and it took me a few tries to go in there and pay out of pocket to try and get my CDL, without going to school, and just learning how the truck operates and how to drive it all on my own. Sharon, she is a tough woman. She, is a woman who is tough at heart and loves her job and loves the students she works with, to ensure the proper requirements are met in order for graduate drivers to succeed and know the material needed, in order to succeed and achieve greatness in this life! I would highly recommend trainco as a go-to school for a CDL class A or B. And hey, you really can't beat their price! Whether it's walk-in and test from your own knowledge for $270 a test with the truck rental, or $2,000 for the whole school, start to finish! Shop around, you really can't get any cheaper then that! God bless you Sharon! You just signed off the certificate to my indefinite success!

Positive experience: Great school with great instructors but the manager Sharon is clearly too comfortable in her position. She is unprofessional and unorganized. Make sure you review all your paperwork you receive from her.

Fantastic experience: I'm gonna miss this school forever, but definitely i'll be around just to see you guys. My instructor's Lance, Ross, Noel and Pat are really so great people who would helped you on the range. I'm so happy i made the right choice with Trainco Driving school. Moreover, hat's off and my respect to Sharon, because she really didn't gave up when i was so down, frustrated for not having that confidence on 90' degree set up and gear shifting..She lift up my soul and really motivated me well to, not gave up. Again, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. I would'nt forget you guys and forever I will owe my success on you. . .

Fantastic experience: I attended a class this past August with no prior experience of truck driving and all the instructors especially russ really worked with me on understanding the fundamentals, techniques, parts and safety measures. Even when I got frustrated (which i often did because I underestimated truck driving) I received so much support from the staff including Sharon, they really made me feel they wanted me to succeed. I recommend this training school for anybody that's serious about obtaining their CDL.

John Allen 7 years ago

Fantastic experience: The instructors are very patient and very knowledge and what they do I will recommend them to anyone more Hands-On then book work your first day you will be backing up a bobtail learning how to shift the more better you become the quicker you move on to offset or alley docking or driving with a trailer

Fantastic experience: Great experience. Sharon and Jay were very helpful and professional. Really put me at ease for the testing and were a pleasure to deal with. They were very accommodating to my schedule in order to get my testing done.

Brad Haskin 7 years ago

Fantastic experience: Excellent and knowledgeable staff. I did not take the CDL program through this organization just some training and the test. The training was well worth the investment as there are specific guidelines and procedures for taking the test that I would have never known. Unlike other people that commented poorly on the facility and not passing you if you didn't go to their school I STRONGLY disagree. The staff has enough respect for their position and their jobs not to pass poorly skilled drivers. I did not pass the first time, nor the second time, but it was 100% my fault not theirs. I will be sending other people from my staff to do testing and training with Trainco.

Fantastic experience: I had a fantastic experience as a student at Trainco. Everyone has the same goal: to get people trained well and ready for their new career. The instructors (Jason, Ray, and Russ) really watch out for their students and help them focus on the skills they need to improve. I feel confident that I’m prepared to start out as a professional truck driver now.

Aj Wilson 8 years ago

Negative experience: Terrible place. Beware. They want to keep failing you. They will make up reasons of why you failed. Only the students who go to school here pass. Everyone else fails. I took the test 4 times and failed. Went to US trucking and passed my first time. The female manager/tester is a scam artist.

Fantastic experience: I had a very good experience taking the 80 hour accelerated CDL-A class. (I already had a class B) My instructor, Pete did a great job delivering the needed knowledge and keeping things relaxed when you inevitably get frustrated. The class sizes are small, (4 people) and most of the class time was spent in the truck. At the end of the 2 weeks I had the knowledge and skills to pass my test! The whole staff was friendly and helpful, I would highly recommend Trainco.

Bill Kurkjian 8 years ago

Fantastic experience: Excellent experience. My class had four people with very different backgrounds and different levels of prior knowledge. The only trailer I had backed up before was a 20' boat behind my car. A 10 speed manual transmission tractor with a forty-eight foot trailer was way beyond anything I had done before and I wasn't certain I could do it. But all of the instructors taught me how. They are experts at teaching. Lance, our primary instructor, was amazingly patient and great giving instructions. Best of all the class was boatloads of fun, my sides hurt from laughing so much.

Fantastic experience: Trainco training was awesome! It was one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences I've ever had. Sharon and Stephanie were so great with me on the phone, it's the reason I decided on Trainco. The instructors exceeded my expectations, with all the experience between them I feel confident that I will have a successful career. They prepare you not only to pass your test, but to become a knowledgeable and safe driver. And they make it such a good time you leave with lifelong friends. I couldn't recommend Trainco more highly, but don't take my word for it.. see for yourself!

Julie Harden 8 years ago

Fantastic experience: The staff at Trainco really know the industry and better still, know how to teach. The steps of learning truck driving are appropriately broken into manageable chunks but the pace will challenge even more experienced students. You will learn to double clutch and you will get a good amount of drivibg time. There is great support for getting work after passing the CDL road test.
