A + Defensive Driving and DUI Schools

Negative experience: On Saturday, October 26, 2024 I took a eight hours driving defense class at this driving school in West Knoxville at 111 Center Park Dr Suite 400 Knoxville Tennessee 37922. I got a question on proof of certificate because two court judges order me to take a driving school course one judge from the department of safety and homeland security order me to take an eight hours defense driving course and the other judge from the Knox County General session court order me to take a driving school class and a judge from the Knox County general section court in downtown Knoxville Tennessee on W. Main St. does not tell me how many hours that I need to take the class. He just tell me that to take a driving school and he will dismiss my reckless driving charge, and the other judge from the department of safety and homeland security. Tell me that he will recommend me to take an eight hour class and I asked the female staff and the instructor if they can email me the pdf certificate so I can email the judge from the department of safety and homeland security instead of me mailing and paying extra postage for me to mail it to the judge. I’m trying to save money by emailing the pdf documents of my certificate that I completed the eight hour course at this driving school but later on I was told to take another class, but why would I need to pay another $55 to take another class if I’m gonna learn the same thing like I did yesterday. And I asked him if I can make a copy of this one certificate. Before he start class. He said that he will only give everyone one and only one certificate only but for student we’re taking online courses. He can email them to PDF versions and also mailed the student that were taking online courses, the physical hardcopy as well and why this instructor and desk staff don’t do the same for me by emailing me the PDF document so that I can email this judge from the department of safety and homeland security so he can dismiss my auto car accident charges because I get too many at fault car accident back in December 2023 and back in April of this year 2024 because the April car accident was not for me according to the Knoxville police department. Because that judge from the department of safety and homeland security order me to go to an eight hour defense driving course and mail me list of driving school in East Tennessee so I decided to pick this one instead because this driving school is on the list that they mail me and other judge from the Knox County General session court also order me to take a driving school because I have to show up to court for a reckless driving traffic citation and I also paid for my citation fines. But the judge doesn’t say what driving school that have to go to and how long do I have to take it for just as long I just show him the proof of the certificates to him in court. So why I cannot use one 8 hour driving defense class for because two judges court have ordered me to go to driving school and this driving school wants to make more money out of me expecting me to take another class when they literally gonna teach me the same thing and tell me everything like the same one. I’m just gonna tell the judge in court that this arriving at school refused to give me a PDF copy when they can literally can email the student that taking online courses that their own PDF document of their certificates and not for the student that is attending in person their own pdf documents and telling students to take a picture of it just in case they lose it then why would you even give email the student their pdf files if they are taking online classes and also mailing their physical copy to them as well don’t make no sense at all, but instructor, Randy Jenkins. but he can’t do one for me at all by emailing me the PDF file copy version so I can email the judge from the department of safety and homeland, security and telling me that I have to take another class to get another one like what trying to make more money out of a 18-year-old young adult I feel like I’ve been taking advantage of.

Fantastic experience: I had to take this class almost a year ago. Still think about it to this day. I learned TONS. I was skeptical at first, but by the end I had respect for the instructor. He was very passionate about being there and he really did teach the entire time! Be on time if you go!

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend for anyone who needs driving school! Nobody enjoys sitting for several hours on end, but he made it enjoyable and easy to sit through. Hopefully I don’t need driving school again but if I do, 100% going back!

Negative experience: Very rude woman employee, hang up on me 2 times, refused to reschedule me after i had paid for my course, even if they have seats available.

Fantastic experience: If you see a bad review it was someone who took the class online and had connection issues or thought they didn't have to pay attention. Go in person. Randy makes the 4hrs go by quick and does give you some good real life examples.

Positive experience: I liked the way Randy teaches. My issue is now they not picking up my phone calls. This is very important please give me a call. I have left emails, and voicemails.

Positive experience: I signed my 21 year old son up for this program after his first ticket to have points deducted from insurance. He took off work to attend and was attentive the entire time. He really enjoyed the instructor. I am awaiting a phone call back to discuss time missed during the online class today.

Negative experience: Would not recommend this site whatsoever. Not even a morning person myself, but woke up 30 minutes prior to the course thinking it’d be an easy set up on my laptop. I spend those 30 minutes trying to figure out how to fix my audio and when I ask in chat and directly message the instructor, I received 0 answer or response. About 5 minutes after it hit 7:30AM (Start time) I get kicked from the call. I originally took the course because I received a message in the mail telling me to do so and failure would result in suspension of my drivers license, so of course this wasn’t a joke to me, but oh well. Typical scamming sites for ya!

Fantastic experience: I wasn’t looking forward to sitting through a defensive driving class but I had to do it. I thought this would be the longest 4 hours I’ve sat through in a long time. Once we got settled in and got started I found that the instructor made the class interesting by mixing real world scenarios with information that we all should know. Thanks Randy, I will recommend your class to everyone.

Fantastic experience: Class is enjoyable, polite guy even when the people attending aren't so polite, might cost a little more than most online courses but i prefer in person classes with teachers who enjoy what they do

Negative experience: If I could give zero stars I would. My camera had a slow delay and after an hour and a half in to a defensive driving course the instructor removed me from the course. I had photo proof my camera was turned on, the instructor even told my wife to leave the room at the beginning (only 8 minutes into the class, proving I had video). The phone contact was condescending and the instructor was very unprofessional. My advise (and my attorney's), find another course provider. Read some of these review responses, it shows their maturity level.

Fantastic experience: I was very impressed with this class. Really did not want to go but once I was there I learned so much thanks to Randy and Tracie (I think that’s her name)were the detailed nice and so patient.

Fantastic experience: Honestly, this day that I was dreading was refreshing af. I thought all I was gonna hear for 12 hours was “now class, what do we do at a stop light?…….” BUT IT WAS NOTHING LIKE THAT! Like.. at all. Randy is as cool as he is a truly brilliant instructor. And that’s no exaggeration. He’s relatable and easygoing with a creative approach that will make those 12 hours fly by. I’m just saying, if you ever find yourself in the unfortunate predicament of requiring services like these…… I highly doubt there are any services like this. Choose A+

Fantastic experience: I called and got a call scheduled and I go on the 14th the lady was kinda nice helped me with the questions and set my appointment up I appreciate that. The only question I forgot to ask was I have a learning disability and when I take the test can someone read the questions to Me and explain what it's saying sorry if I'm asking for a lot just wanted to ask I'm hoping I do well when I take this test this is my 1st time having to take this class

Negative experience: Absolute most disrespectful, rudest people I’ve ever met in my life and that says a lot they do not refund if you can’t make it and hang up on you quickly if you have question to reschedule. Never in my life will I attend with them again, if I could rate zero stars I would!

Fantastic experience: Randy leads an outstanding program( defensive driving). He seemed exceptionally fair but firm with the attendees. With a group class like this he has to maintain order and confirm attendance to retain his certifications etc with the state. He made the topics interesting and moved them along. I came in from out of town to get this class completed in a timeframe that worked for me and I was very pleased. I highly recommend A+.

Fantastic experience: Completing a 6-hour drive from Ohio to Tennessee and coming off of I-40 into Newport, TN, "I" made the error of not being aware of my speed from freeway to local highway. The local officer whom I met was simply out doing his job. So, I was "awarded" (-lol-) my first speeding ticket in over 20 years. In hindsight, this event was a lesson in awareness, being in the moment, and becoming complacent about habitually envisioning myself as "a responsible driver." As I was allowed to attend a defensive driving course, I looked at the TN State list provided. A+ Defensive Driving had classes available that met my needs and allowed me to complete the requirement as soon as possible (my strong preference). I am happy to state that I completed the course way before the deadline provided to do so. Okay, so there was a slight inconvenience of joining an 8:30 am class held in TN at 5/5:30 am on a Saturday in CA after a busy week. lol No biggie...and neither A+ nor I are responsible for the unavoidable time difference. Plus getting a speeding ticket was fully on me! So I considered the inconvenience as part of the natural consequence earned by my own inattention and resulting choices when coming off of the I-40 freeway. I am someone who has been a counselor, corporate trainer and instructor, including for a period teaching Driving Safety (several years ago). I sincerely appreciated Randy's way of conveying important information to those of us in the course. He was knowledgeable, but also accessible, humble, personal, and ethical in how he conveyed that knowledge. I could say so much more but I expect that most of you would, due to boredom, simply stop reading. -lol- I wish everyone at A+ and anyone reading this well. K

Negative experience: I was kicked out of class because RANDY the instructor though my IPAD was a cellphone…. I was logged in and ready for the class 30 MINUTES PRIOR to class starting!!!, I was hung up by him when trying fix situation. He was unable to admit he made a bad call. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL PEOPLE. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND RUN!!,!

Fantastic experience: Mr. Randy Jenkins is a great instructor for this class. I took the class because I had to for court and was honestly dreading it,but he was very knowledgeable on the material and surprisingly I learned alot today. He related to us. He has passion for the people and his Job. I would recommend anyone to this class who needs it and/or wants to change their life. He shows us how to make low risk choices and get our life back. Expresses that we are not the people that we are in the mirror and he inspires and motivates you to want to get your life back. I give credit to him and miss Tracey for me not losing my kids and getting my life on track. If I could give more than five stars I would. I'd take his class again and not think twice about it. Negative experience: Place is a joke. The lady that answers the phone is rude. They cant keep up with facts between employees and give misguided information. Go somewhere else.

Negative experience: I was scheduled to be at this place on September 13 and I get a phone call saying how bad of a person I was because I had costed them all this money by not showing up in June. When I wS scheduled for Sept.. I got kicked 9ur of the class once before for sleeping . I was drained from my dad dying . And they showed no remorse for this . All they are worried about is money. And if they would have taught what they were supposed to have for the first 3 hours and not told war stories I may have not fallen asleep. And the state requires a certain amount of hours . Heck they cut the class short because of a birthday party and gave everyone credit. Now they refuse to give me my money back because they just wanted dine with me. I would give these people your money upfront because they'll probably be closed down after the right people hear about this

Negative experience: Course material was what you would expect. Masks were required, and the instructor Randy Jenkins enforced this policy which I appreciated but was not wearing one himself even when in close contact with students. He later spread false information that “masks don’t help stop a virus” and inappropriate comments like “The masks we provide here don’t work, they’re made in China. You can read the package.” The course is fine if you need it for court but this instructor was unprofessional.

Fantastic experience: Today I took the 8 hour defensive driving course. I really enjoyed the class instructor Rick. He had a perfect mix of facts, media and stories. Perfect Heamount of breaks to stretch and enjoy lunch! He kept it very interesting as he has a lot of first hand expirence. I took it in response to a recent driving violation but I will be sending my son to his class as he will be turning 15 and starting to drive next year!

Fantastic experience: I was obviously dreading the course, but Randy Jenkins made it bearable and, dare I say, enjoyable. I genuinely feel like I’m a better driver after attending the class. If you have the opportunity to have him as your instructor, take it!

Fantastic experience: When I learned I had to take a Defensive Driving Course, I dreaded it from the beginning. I started searching for a place to take the class, and it seemed like there were endless options. How could I be sure this was the right place to go? After I read some reviews this location sounded promising. I went in not knowing what to expect, but to my surprise the class wasn’t very large, and the instructor was great. Mr. Randy takes the time to make the class as interesting as possible. There were even parts I found myself laughing, which I never expected here. Also, the instructor was gracious enough to provide frequent brakes, which helped me stay more focused. With all of that combined, those 8 hours seemed to be over in a short few. We also learned that out of 1,500+ schools they were winner of the Training Center of the Year Award from the Nation Safety Council. Had I known that from the beginning, I wouldn’t have had any doubts about choosing this place. No one wants to take these classes, but if you do choose this school.
