Fantastic experience: Super friendly and nice people

Fantastic experience: The instructors were amazing, and really took the time to explain how to correct major issues when driving. They also made my child feel comfortable out on the road. The only downfall was the price but it seems like that is at any driving school now days.

Fantastic experience: Had an issue with Mr. Coady but the owner made things right and even came in and retested my son herself. That was much appreciated.

Negative experience: Had a bad experience here, for one the car had a check engine light on not very safe! The car breaks were probably new bc they were very firm so I didn’t want to break all the way bc it seem aggressive, the instructor said no didn’t break all the way he said I had a passing score but bc my hands were not positioned right on the wheel, it seems like they just wanna keep making money off you. The instructor lecturing me in front of my mother in law not very nice, just had a baby and was sensitive he was kinda rude. I will not be going back to this location, especially when their vehicles are not safe with engine light on. Save your money go somewhere else.

Fantastic experience: My daughter just got her driver's license. We did the entire program through this school (30 hours in class, 6 behind the wheel, etc), and couldn't be happier. All the instructors were fabulous and prepared her well to be a licensed driver.

Positive experience: Lessons are good. My son never had an issue, in fact he really liked the lessons. I just want to let parents know about the driving test. I do not recommend having the test with them. This is probably with any driving school. They can NOT hand out any paper licenses if your child passes. So if they pass you have to make an appointment with the dmv as if they were having a test there to get the license. So it saves you nothing. You actually pay more because you then have to pay the dmv as well. The dmv can at least give a paper license until the real one comes in the mail. This doesn’t make the school bad, I just would have liked to know this and then wouldn’t have paid $65 to test there and then another $50 to have him test again because they’re stricter then the dmv and failed him. I’m not upset they failed him, but again knowing he would have to have an appt at the dmv anyway and wait when he did pass would have been nice. So here I am having to pay more at his next appt to actually get his license.

Positive experience: Driving Test Just went in (Oct 1) for a driving test and found that during the review of the test the driving instructor wasn’t very thorough in explaining the errors I made while driving. He did a very good job at giving directions and was clear in his instruction, but when it came to reviewing the test sheet, I felt as though he grazed over the errors and was a little belittling, honestly. I tried recalling times I thought I made an error and connect them to what I was being told I did wrong, and to that I was told that he wasn’t going to tell me when I made the error because I wouldn’t remember. At the end of the test review, I asked if there was a copy of the paper he had so I could make sure I worked on my mistakes, and he said that he “explained it thoroughly” enough to remember. I should add, at the end of the review he reiterated several times (consecutively) that I need to do better (which I find understandable because I did fail the test.) However, each time he said so it was met with acknowledgement and agreement from me, so it was just a really odd cycle. Overall the driving instructions were clear and helpful, but I found the review of the test sheet unclear.

Fantastic experience: Such a great experience for my son. We’ve used a “big name” driving school in the past and their instructors were like drill sergeants, belittling and stressing the kids out. Affordable Driving School’s instructors are kind and helpful, putting my son at ease. I appreciate all they do for these kids and our community. Highly recommend! Don’t be fooled by the expensive places, just because they are more expensive does not mean they are better! Very thankful for ADS.

Positive experience: The instructor/tester was exactly what I wanted for my son. Focused on him, not me as the parent. Encouraging, engaging, and ensured all my, and my son's questions were answered. We only did the 1.5 hr lesson with DL test. The service and "product" was great! The cost was not super affordable for my budget. But it was the only place offering this specific service, so it was worth it.

Negative experience: I just got my drivers license today, and I'm glad I never have to go to this nightmare ever again. First of all, this specific Affordable Driving School was located in one of the worst spots to have a driving school. It's on a hill with the worst parking lot to start driving on. It's extremely tight and not many spots are available. Not to mention the 50 or so degree angle you have to drive on to even enter this establishment. I've only done 2 of the possible 3 lessons with this place because of how awful the experience was. The first lesson I had actually went pretty well. The instructor I had was Mrs. Olmsted who did a good job of telling me what to do with a lot of time to react, taught me things that I didn't know, and the Chevy Cruze that I was in was in good condition. The second lesson I had was one of the most stressful and demoralizing 2 hours of my life. I had Mr. Zinn who was a major downgrade to the person I had last. He told me directions when I had no time to react and would blame me for the mistake. Didn't teach me anything and kept hammering me with negativity. When I did something wrong, he would say "Why did you do that" or something and wouldn't tell me how to fix those mistakes. His attitude was very aggressive and he acted like he didn't care at all. The Ford Fusion also could have been better as there was a giant bolt sticking out between the gas and brake pedals, making it hard to switch between them. This event led me to have driving anxiety which proved very difficult to work with. I didn't to the 3rd lesson because of what transpired. When the test came around, the instructor I had was Mr. Coady who was the most stressful person to work with because of his attitude was extremely monotone. I felt like I was driving with Bill Belichick. He was very strict and the test was longer and harder than it should've been. He cared too much and it led to a very intense test. Needless to say that I absolutely do not recommend this place. I'm sure there is much better driving schools that actually care about their students and their abilities.

Negative experience: My au pair failed her driver's test multiple times with another school. I finally told her that I was not willing to pay for it anymore, so she went and paid for Affordable Driving School on her own. She finally passed the test. I had her drive to the DMV to get her license so I could see her driving skills, and she was awful!!!! She wasn't staying in the lines while driving straight. She went into the other lanes multiple times while attempting to change lanes. She crossed over multiple solid lines. I have no idea how someone passed her! Now it's a major issue because I don't think she should be driving but she argues that she passed the test.

I definitely recommend scheduling with him, such a great personality to learn with, I was so anxious and nervous to drive, but he never made me feel like I couldn’t do it. Definitely going to miss his talks Such a great teacher!! Overall the education was pretty good we went through rules and felt I had such a great learning experience. Thanks so much!!!

Negative experience: Mr. Coady was not welcoming and had a monotone demeanor. If you are nervous for a first test I would recommend someone or someplace different. On the other hand the woman at the front desk was amazing and welcoming.

Negative experience: When critiquing another student you should have a separate office or room. Instead of asking clients to wait outside. Have respect for both clients. Asking people to wait outside in the cold is absolutely unacceptable, when you can do your critques in a separate room.
