1st Learn To Drive

Fantastic experience: Scott is an amazing teacher! After 4 - 2 hour lessons, I confidently took and passed my driving test with ease. Would highly recommend these lessons to anyone needing to learn.

Negative experience: I do understand I was late but I am leaving this review as I was made to pay for 2 lessons I did not receive.

Fantastic experience: Purchased the 3 x2hr personalized on-road driving lesson package (3 sessions in total; 2hr per session). I scheduled each session flexibly. Scott, my instructor was very good. He helped me get extensive on-road practice, caught my errors and also gave me great tips/ advice. He did a few mock drive tests for me on my 3rd session; really helped boost confidence and rectify minor errors. I took my scheduled road test a week later and cleared it in the first attempt. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I’m giving this a 5 star personally because I had the best teacher/driver Ed’s teacher and his name was Vince even tho i only had him for 2 drives it felt like he was my friend to me then he was a drivers Ed teacher (which is a good thing) he never criticized my driving at all un like other driver ed teachers anyways overall 5 star BETTER GIVE MY GUY A RAISE HES THE BEST!!!!

Positive experience: my instructor was jeremy. when it came to driving, he was very stern but that was ultimately more helpful than not. he was otherwise chill as well.

Positive experience: 1st learn to drive was super helpful and very worth it. At times it may seem annoying and like you want to quit but the benefits at the end are worth it. Jeremiah was a great instructor as he keeps things light with his voice impressions. He may seem intimidating at first but he just wants to help you be a safe driver. Do 1st learn to drive

Fantastic experience: As someone who spent the first 22 years of their life in school getting various degrees, and also been a teaching assistant in grad school, I recognize great pedagogy when I see it. And Scott absolutely has it. I had six 2-hr lessons with him over the last two weeks, and passed my behind the wheels test this morning. The notes Scott provided on the first day had concisely worded facts about driving in Oregon, how to execute turns, merges etc., and also on how to sign up for testing appointments. These notes were really useful, and reviewing them before my lessons and the test definitely helped me remember details I would’ve otherwise forgotten. During the lessons Scott was basically the dad figure who ought to have taught me how to drive when I was 16. He was calm, patient, and very cognizant of my strong and weak points while driving. He basically had a lesson plan going all throughout my classes with him, so I was able to review my misses and mistakes from each class, and never made them again in subsequent lessons. 1st Learn To Drive is incredibly lucky to have Scott as an instructor with them, as is anyone like me who has had the chance to learn under him. He has my absolute and unequivocal recommendation to anyone wanting to not only learn how to drive, but also learn how to pass the test.

Fantastic experience: Jeremy was my instructor for this course. He is a good teacher, and while he is strict, he is strict for a good reason. Ive found that what he taught me sticks, and while the instructor Magic was the one to pass me on my final drive, I could recommend Jeremy enough. 9/10 teacher

Fantastic experience: Can’t recommend this driving school highly enough for my fellow late bloomers. I’ve lived in public transit heavy cities all my life so never had a license, and driving anxiety was really getting in my way. Took adult driving lessons with this company, with Scott as my instructor, and honestly it completely changed my relationship to driving! Scott was direct, patient, and knew how to get me over the edges when I was panicking. I went from barely being able to drive due to panic attacks to feeling at ease on the road & with a license in just over a month.

Negative experience: Its a bad driving school I had a bad experience with a stractor .We go to a driving course to learn,if we are good in driving so why should we pay but they react like we are paying just to enjoy.they thing that we wasting out time they should teach you driving.but Thay don't

Negative experience: Over the entire course I knew mostly what I needed (because I already read the book), but they showed me in more detail what was required. This course was worth it's time because it was readily available at school locations, although I was very annoyed because my driving instructor was absent about 50% and he was one of the best there. At one point I was rescheduled because a unknown reason. My designated instructor was one of the better ones, and actually teaches by the book and common sense, but half the other instructors were not just teaching from the book but by what made them comfortable, I'd get marked down for not driving with habits matching an instructor, even if their habits were unhealthy. The most helpful instructor here was Sam, Vince, and Chad on my Final Test Drive. Also they gave the students money to leave a review, they were not bribing for good ratings, just reviews. TLDR: Go to PCC, they got better classes. EDIT: Now that I look back on this class it was missing many important things that were not included which now that I have to learn later down the road (pun not intended) makes me angry and feel like I wasted my money.

Fantastic experience: Great experience driving with Vince as helped me overcome some of the anxiety and apprehension I've been experiencing about being on the road. I would recommend him especially for younger and or inexperienced drivers. He was really considerate ,helpful and knowledgable and patient. I contacted about 7 different schools and this company was also the the first to get respond back with an opening which was another plus.

Positive experience: I think this opportunity has taught me things I probably would have learned the hard way, although I believe that because of this class I am a more stressed out driver and I am now distracted of my own driving or the the silence in the car. I used to love driving till I got to drivers Ed and now every time I get in the driver seat I feel like I’m gonna have a panic attack.

Fantastic experience: Jeremy is very charismatic and a great instructor. The classes are a bit tedious and long but they teach you what you need to know to be a good driver. I’m glad I took this course and I hope that anyone else that takes it benefits!

Fantastic experience: Vince is the best drive instructor I’ve had!!! He deserve a raise.

Negative experience: The first two drivers were pretty good. Vince was kind and patient in particular and supported me when I made mistakes. The third one however was named Rose and she picked me up late, spent several minutes pulling garbage, dishes, and personal items from the passenger seat. There was garbage on the floor by the pedals and all around the controls. She was horrible to drive with. She would give me directions far too late, then berate me for not following them. She kept getting mad at me for not knowing things I was there to learn. While my previous lessons went well, there were several times when I almost pulled over to quit outright because she was so unreasonable. Halfway through an intersection she'd announce she wanted me to turn, then yell about swerving and my turn signal, and spend the next few miles complaining about me. She'd say one thing and expect me to do another. When I asked direct questions, she would give vague or unsure answers, and always made sure to tell me this was something Ishould already know. Instead of answering direct questions, she'd say "oh, I wish you knew this, you really should've studied more". I don't think she understood I was here because I don't know everything. I thought we would go later, since she was late, but she dropped me off before the scheduled end of the session. Just make sure you request anyone but Rose. Driving with her was infuriating. I didn't get the time I paid for and I spent most of the drive just trying to not respond to her unreasonable and unfair comments. I really don't understand how she is a tutor there.

Positive experience: I had Jeremiah for my instructor, he was straight forward and easy to follow. He is a taught in am easy to understand way.

Fantastic experience: My driving lesson with Scott was amazing! He was very professional, and was on time to the lesson. He was patient with me and very attentive. He explained what would be expected of me on the upcoming skills test, and also helped ease my nervousness as he calmly guided me through the entire lesson! I'd definitely recommend enrolling with him for driving lessons!

Positive experience: Good course. Lesson teachers were thorough and very committed to producing good drivers. Drive instructors were also committed and gave useful feedback. A bit direct at times, but you have to be to properly teach this kind of thing. Had Jeremy as my drive instructor and Steve as the in class teacher, both were great at teaching. The one thing was that communicating with the office was pretty terrible. They almost never responded back to email, and call system gets automatically put into an email format, which is really annoying. But you basically don't ever need to talk to the office to go through the course, so it wasn't a giant problem. Overall, its a great program.

Fantastic experience: The driving instructor for the zoom calls was very entertaining, and he taught us all the stuff we needed to know for the tests as well as other things that are helpful to know. The driving instructors for the drives were also nice, and helped us and taught us helpful things.

Negative experience: Fraud business never replied back to my calls and never gave back my money.

Fantastic experience: Driving is stressful for me but this company's wonderful instructors really helped with that, especially Randy. He was hilarious and kind. He made sure I was comfortable and made sure to correct me without being harsh when I made a mistake. :)

Fantastic experience: chad was great. steve was great. jeremiah was great. i got candy and learned about driving which was pretty cool. driving is more difficult than i thought but all of these people made (almost) everyone more comfortable with being on the road in general.

Fantastic experience: I signed up for the accelerated course, I learned a lot! My teacher Andrew was awesome and was passionate about teaching the material and helping students pass the course. On my practice drives, I liked and worked well with all of my instructors: Christian, Steve, and Chad. I would recommend this course to all new drivers, especially those who want to get drivers Ed done in a shorter amount of time.

Positive experience: Informative yet dry and extensively long. It ended way too late. Thank you for teaching me how to drive. Also, Jeremy just threw candy at a student, unacceptable.

Positive experience: This was an okay drivers ed course I guess. I can’t really compare it to other drivers ed places. The classes were really boring but I think that would be true of any place. It would be better if it wasn’t so long and so late at night.

Positive experience: Had a lot of fun in class with Steve as the instructor and Randy was a great and fun drive instructor. Rescheduling lessons was really hard though.

Fantastic experience: Steven was an excellent teacher of whom I will never forget. Whenever I come across a four way light, his words echo in my mind, "Left, front, right." If I ever find myself down, I always find myself thinking about how in our 4th class he said "over there" almost 500 times.

Negative experience: I would never let them teach my kid to drive. One of their drivers cut me off terribly. I gave a quick honk to say “hey look out”. He then slams on his brakes and motions for me to pull over. I ignore him while he continues to make motions to pull over and stares at me in the side view mirror for the next mile. I emailed the company to let them know. Their response: “you should have called yesterday. We’ve instructed our driver to not wave at anyone while driving, even if someone lets them in.”

Fantastic experience: The teachers care a lot about who they are putting on the road and help you become better and more confident drivers. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I had a nice drive with Jeremy. He wasn't pushy with any criticisms, which were all constructive and not angry. He was patient and chill and I had fun conversing with him. I'd give him 4.8 stars out of 5. He introduced a great new strategy about seeing the shoes of pedestrians and how to see a curb by looking at an angle from the steering wheel, but I didn't quite fully understand the angle part, so that would have been nice for him to explain it perfectly clear for me.

Fantastic experience: Liz was such an awesome instructor! I looked forward to her class every week, and she was very patient with us. Our driving instructor chad was great too, and always made an effort to connect with us.

Negative experience: Very unprofessional, I called them twice and all the guy who answered could say is "is this mike" and when I said no he told me to call back again.. I did.. Nobody picked up. I called again hours later and the same question "is this mike" then he says "I'll call you in the morning" so annoying! I don't recommend!

Fantastic experience: I signed up for the 3 - 2 hour lessons. I had no real prior driving experience.I grew up in inner city Portland and had been a bicyclist for 10 years. The first lesson with Larry we learned the basics and went from there. Larry was a very helpful instructor who was calm and interesting to talk to. By the second lesson, I was already driving around the city and left the lesson feeling less stressed about driving. These driving lessons forced me to practice driving and I passed the drive test on the first try and issued my first driver's license at 27.

Negative experience: I did not get my money's worth. The instructor barely gave constructive advice at all. The ride was mostly quiet and sometimes she did not respond to my remarks at all. I kept waiting for her to proactively teach me, as that was what I was paying for. She seemed in a horrible mood. She did not give me the full driving time that I paid for. It was nice to have someone to drive along with me as I conquered some of my driving anxiety, but I could've gotten a friend or family member to do this and not shelled out so much money, for all that I got out of that lesson. I do not recommend this company to ANYONE. Please do yourself and your wallet a favor and stay away.
