The Next Street - Torrington Driving School

Fantastic experience: If you’re looking for a place to help your teen or even you get their license I’d definitely come here! Reasonably priced for sure and their instructor's are super friendly and very helpful and make you feel very comfortable! I had Bethany and she’s amazing! Definitely try them out!

Fantastic experience: I'm a little late to the party. I just wanted to say thank you so much to Beth (Bee) for helping me be relaxed and comfortable with driving. Thank you so much for helping me pass my road test!!! 5 months and still going! If it wasn't for you being my instructor I probably wouldn't have passed. Keep doing what you do, have a good Thanksgiving and Christmas!

Fantastic experience: I took the 30 hr class and so far 2 driving lessons. The class instructor Tyler was personable and endearing as well as very thorough in his teaching, leaving no question unanswered or judged. Ive had the pleasure of working with Catherine and Scott on the road in my driving lessons and they are phenomenal. Catherine pushes you just enough to face the fear while giving you all the confidences to do so. Scott was like sitting next to an uncle who makes you smile and laugh the whole time as to ease you into driving. Almost to the point of not realizing how much youre actually doing it until you do and then youre like wow im doing it. I cannot recommend The next street enough!

Negative experience: They say everything is scheduled around your schedule, I had to call the main number to get lessons within a two month period. I paid over $1000 for someone to be rude and condescending to my kid during his driving test. I get that DMV employees aren’t the most pleasant people in the world, but for the amount of money they squeeze out of us parents, the least they can do is have someone who Is appropriate to be around children.

Fantastic experience: I’m a current student right now! These guys are great! The instructors help you feel calm while driving and they make sure you are safe as well which is so important!

Fantastic experience: I had the opportunity to work with Susan for two of my next street lessons and she was AMAZING!! She made it feel like a safe environment within the car due to her patience and kindness, as well as provided valuable knowledge and insight on the road. I highly recommend taking a lesson from her as I learned so much in a short amount of time!

She was professional, friendly and engaged well with my child right from the start. She was also very encouraging. So pleased with the entire The Next Street program!

Negative experience: Do not show up in crocs or flip-flops. The instructor reports you and then some lady calls you to tell you that you need to pay more money and make up time because you didn't get to start because of your footwear. They threatened with "well you won't get the insurance discount unless u pay this!" I thought they were best interest of the client but they literally are all about money!

Fantastic experience: Sarah Haywood was a great teacher! She was very fun and always had ways to cheer us up. She just was really great and I had a great drivers ed experience on zoom! I'm going to miss it but thank you for everything you did Sarah!

Fantastic experience: Next Street was great! From the first person I talked to on the phone to the drivers to the day we came in for the actual test. We were in the Torrington next Street and the women that was there before my daughter left to take her driving test was so great!! She went over everything and just made sure my daughter knew what to expect. I don’t remember her name but we were there on Aug. 16 in the morning. Thank you you to her and all your staff!

Negative experience: Online classes are good but the whole thing fall apart with driving classes. They have over sold and either you wait months for close appt or drive around the state. Really worth get driving dates BEFORE paying.

Fantastic experience: Can't say enough about Bethany she was such a great help to me with learning to drive. Very friendly and extremely educated with the rules of the road. I passed my test first time out!

Positive experience: overall, my experience at the next street was good. driving with emily was one of the things i looked forward to every week. she made the experience more enjoyable and instead of fully criticizing me, she helped me as i was going. i recommend her as a driver if you’re paying for lessons. it was fun!

Fantastic experience: Alicia was great!! She helped me calm down a lot knowing I was nervous about parking for my test. I took my test and perfected it on the first try!! She also gave me a lot of helpful tips that I would not have known without her! Highly recommend :)

Negative experience: The next street is overpriced and Ed Advance is so much better Michele works at Ed Advance now she came from the next street and is a great teacher.

Positive experience: Michelle is an incredibly down-to-earth and relatable teacher. Just having a conversation with her is good. Her ability to monitor discussion and make sure we aren’t distancing too far from the topic is impeccable, able to bring us back with a few words. The way she puts out ideas to the class about driver safety makes it all seem like common sense. She can always inject personality or a helpful anecdote into the lesson, making sure we understand how impactful certain things can be. Homework fulfills it’s role as a recap of the most recent class’ lesson perfectly. The only thing that seems to fall even a little short is not even the teacher’s fault. Sometimes the class can grow a tad rambunctious (What with almost all the students being between 16 and 18) and it can be difficult to corral them, meaning some time gets wasted. All around, good class, I would be happiest learning with Babij if I had to take this class again.

Fantastic experience: I definitely recommend this school, especially Bethany Brague as an instructor. She is a wonderful person who helped me a lot. The way she explains things makes it easier to grasp and apply. Without her, I wouldn’t have passed my road test.

Negative experience: I wouldn't trust the driving instructors considering the one behind me at the moment is texting an driving, is all over the road and riding my bumper. Next time I'll be calling the police. Also called the company to complain and got hung up on 4 times! Some example they're setting for new drivers! Fantastic experience: I have really enjoyed my experience at Next Street Driving School. The driving lessons are very helpful in improving my driving skills. I have especially enjoyed the classes with Nicole Palmer. She has made the time both informative and enjoyable. I highly recommend Next Street diving school to anyone getting their license.

Fantastic experience: The workers at All-Star are all very kind and truly make you feel like they want to help you as much as possible in becoming a smart, safe, confident driver. The process was very easy, organized, and not stressful. My teacher, Karen, was fantastic and really made the driving lessons comfortable ans stress-free. I would definitely recommend using All-Star to anyone considering going for their license for the first time.

Fantastic experience: This class is incredibly helpful with everything regarding driving from the basics to relatively obscure but important information. My teacher, Karen T., has helped me a lot both in and out of the classroom with learning all of the logistics within driving. I will definitely be a safer and more successful driver because of this class.
