Negative experience: They literally lied and said the state is giving me back my refund and I haven’t got my refund , there needs to be a way to sue because it’s not fair I never got to use my driving classes and yet have no way to contact and get my money back

Negative experience: Extremely rude front desk lady. She is very condescending and not very helpful without you feeling like all the questions you ask are stupid. She needs to learn how to treat people with respect.

Negative experience: How Am I not allowed to get my 60 dollars back when I didn’t even get my service? The orderly lady at the front desk has always been rude and she didn’t even try to help me out with my situation. I called for my refund back and I never received my 60 dollars back for a service that I never received.

Fantastic experience: I was a crying mess with my son turning 16, then I realized I was missing one of the documents I needed for him to take his drivers test. This added to my stress. I am so grateful for Chanda and Mr Brian who walked me through who to contact to get the form I needed. They were so kind and patient with me. We got it done and he passed! Thank YOU!

Negative experience: Some of the instructors need more training, but some of them are great. However the front desk lady with blonde hair is extremely rude.

Negative experience: My youngest sister enrolled to this school since October 2021, and she has had a positive experience here , each instructor has been cautious and taken every measure to teach the students as best as possible until (Jun 29, 2022 12:31pm) when instructor "Alicia" was assigned to my sister and one other underaged HS student for the FIRST time. As soon as my sister went into the car she felt unsafe due to the lack of patience, rude, condescending, and unprofessionalism from this particular woman - "Alicia" - whom did everything she could to increase student's anxiety while on the road. The following behaviors of this instructor were recorded - - snapping fingers - yelling at the students - yelling incoherent instructions, "Alicia's" inability to be a driving instructor caused one of the student's to collide with a mailbox within a residential zone. This woman does not possess the strong verbal / communication skills required to perform her job. I suggest the driving school assigns her to a different role or terminate her as an instructor, if they prioritize student safety as well as protect private property.

Fantastic experience: My Son did a 14 hrs drive time with them and he is in good shape and so confidence to drive. He speaks so much about his instructor’s especially Kay, who is so wonderful in teaching home to drive. I will recommend them to any parent who is looking for a good driving school. My son passed his driving test and has gotten his drivers license issued and driving so well. I am sending another child there in the next two weeks.

Negative experience: impressed w/ course instruction and some of the instructors, in particular "Mr. B" who my kids loved ... reduced overall rating due to Kay. Though the students are required to be masked, Kay goes unmasked during driving lessons and tells students that they also can unmask because "she doesn't believe in the virus ... and the President will fix this". My kids could care less about her beliefs or politics but are smart enough to recognize a Karen when they see one. I paid over $400 for professional lessons from professional instructors ... Kay is not one of them.

Fantastic experience: Was great, easy quick process if you bring all your paperwork. Most common thing forgotten is the 10$ money order or check for the Dps. Even if you do forget it they’ll let you test and you can grab it from Kroger after easy. The DPS test its self is done with an older gentleman, he’s nice and does his job good. Gives you advice and instructions while driving. Can’t fail! Easy Peezy even if nervous. I highly recommend.

Negative experience: If I could give this no stars I would, I took my daughter here and there was no professionalism. Frankly a waste of time and I would not recommend. I only went here because it close to me home.

Driving School of Mansfield

Sorry to hear about your frustration Michelle. We strive to always be respectful and professional. At your convenience, please feel free to contact me to further discuss your experience. I would love to help. Thanks, Shane

Positive experience: Do the instructors teach drivers that are on the Autism/Aspergers spectrum or any other mental disability?

Driving School of Mansfield

Yes, we teach drivers with disabilities.

Ernan Gwerpy 6 years ago

Negative experience: The driving instructors there fail you for the stupidest reasons.

Driving School of Mansfield

Sorry to hear about your frustration. Whenever we administer the driving test, the state requires us to follow particular guidelines. Please feel to contact us anytime if you would like to discuss in further detail. Thanks

Positive experience: My daughter just finished up here and we had a great experience. They were very open and informative about the pricing, etc.. The instructors were great and she was always excited about going and learning more. The learners permit was obtained quickly and the scheduling for the dps road test was quick and simple. I would recommend this driving school it really helped my daughter gain her confidence with her driving and ultimately get her license. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars has nothing to do with the school itself but the location is kinda busy and the area is hard to get in and out of when classes let in and out. There are lots of other businesses in that same little shopping area and it can get very busy.

Thank you for the great feedback and for the opportunity.

Fantastic experience: I had problems with my tundra and i took it to other shops and didn't know what was wrong with it. Aaron had it ready for me in less than 2 hours. Best mechanic I've known so far.

Negative experience: If I could give this place -5 stars I would. The customer service at this place that you pay a lot of money to go to is lacking tremendously. The old man at the front desk acts like he can't do anything and on top of that is the most miserable old man I've ever met. He is definitely someone you want at a front desk when you DONT want any customers. The Mansfield Driving Academy off of HWY 287 is way better at teaching your child how to drive and customer service.

Bud Simpson 7 years ago

Fantastic experience: @Landy S. Our daughter had no problem gaining confidence in her driving. We didn't rely on a few hours of driving school training to make our daughter an expert driver. Instead, we let her drive everywhere once she had her permit. So we taught her how to enter and exit highways before she even drove with the school. We took her to back country roads in the rain and let her slam the brakes and make sudden turns in sudden rain. This helped her gain experience in driving in the rain. I suggest you not rely on a driving school to instill confidence in your daughter as that comes with experience and knowledge, Instead, be a parent and instill the confidence they need to be good drivers on the road. The very little drive time required by the state will not instill the ultimate driving confidence or experience your child needs to be a good driver.

Driving School of Mansfield

Thanks for review. You are absolutely right. Beginning drivers need as much practice as possible. Just like playing a sport or a musical instrument, driving is a skill that takes repetition. The 7 lessons are valuable, but additional practice is required for a teenage driver to be truly ready for their license.

Negative experience: My son went to this school and during drive times they went shopping with the teacher at Dollar Tree and spent 30 minutes in a parking lot while she cleaned out her purse. Also he was told to not ask questions a couple times?!?!? Will not send my other children to this school.

Driving School of Mansfield

Sorry to hear about your sons situation. We definitely strive to always be professional during our driving lessons. I’m not sure if you have the correct driving school. There are two schools in Mansfield and we currently don’t have any female driving instructors. Please feel free to contact me if you have any concerns (817)260-1020 ext. 4. Thanks in advance.

Fantastic experience: I had a amazing time with mr. Joseph and if you happen to get him you will be surprised at how amazing he is... oh yea and great school too.

Negative experience: It's funny how all the real comments talk about how rude the lady at the front desk is and come from real people. Look at the positive, over the top comments that are obviously from the same group of people because they all state the time of the class at the end! lol!!

Sonny Jones 8 years ago

Negative experience: The instructors and receptionist are horribly unprofessional. Definitely not a place I would say has even decent customer service. There is a female instructor that is particularly bad- frantic and sarcastic with her direction while seemly poorly educated. I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone looking for a quality environment to learn to drive in.

Landy Sumuel 8 years ago

Negative experience: I really don't think that this problem is with this school only but since this is the one we used I have to share my feelings and thoughts. I would agree that the front desk receptionist is a bit rude but here is my biggest complaint; MY DAUGHTER STILL DOES NOT HAVE THE CONFIDENCE SHE NEEDS. My daughter does not have driving experience she is a beginner; the first two instructors that she had made it seem like she was doing well; that was until she had a female instructor that was honest. On her third drive time they had her scheduled to go on the freeway, which she was not ready for, the instructor could tell, from the way that she was gripping the wheel, that she was not ready and didn't push. She was told and I quote " you need to tell your mom to drive with you more" The problem that I have with that, is that I paid $406.00 for my daughter to be taught and she still does not have the confidence needed to drive. I have spent another $268.00 for another drive school to give her some extra drive time which is a total of $674.00 that I have spent. Again, I don't think that this is happening with just this school. I think that people have become so greedy taking money and not doing what is being paid for. There should be some type of FCC regulation set up to prevent parents from being swindled. Drivers ED is supposed to be for teaching not for the parents to pay you to not teach and we do the teaching

Katelynn Flack 8 years ago

Positive experience: I have had both my children go through this facility and only had one problem. Just recently, during the drive time the driving instructor was on her phone the whole time. My daughter was driving and it was distracting because the instructor had the phone on speaker and was talking very loud on the phone. The instructor was not paying attention, had the music up, giving last moment instructions, and then snapped at her when she made a mistake. My daughter was so upset because the mistake was due to her being distracted by the instructors behavior and not receiving clear instructions while driving. From now on I will call to see who is doing drive times before I sign my daughter up for a slotted time. Also, my third child will be going elsewhere for his driving instruction when it becomes his turn.

Driving School of Mansfield

Sorry for unfortunate experience that your daughter had on this driving lesson. We have addressed the problem and assure that it won't happen again. We take pride in providing professional and efficient education to our student drivers. Obviously, this instructor did not meet that standard. We are always looking to improve our school and we will definitely learn from previous experience. Please feel free to contact management so we can resolve the problem. Thanks in advance.

Negative experience: The lady at the front desk is the most unprofessional and rudest person I have ever encountered. They never check their messages for cancellations and force you to pay, because they claim they never got your message. When you ask for the owner or leave a message to call, he is never around.

Joshua Buchanan 8 years ago

Fantastic experience: This driving school is the real deal. My daughter really enjoyed the instructors, especially Mr B. She finished their program feeling really confident as a driver and passed her DPS driving test on the first attempt. I will definitely recommend this driving school to my friends and family.

Lauren Pechero 8 years ago

Negative experience: Despite the negative reviews that I have heard from other parents. I called to receive information about this school for my triplets and was treated so poorly by the front desk/office manager. Needless say I will be sending my children to literally anywhere else but here.

Jenny Pedroza 8 years ago

Negative experience: I am extremely disappointed with the customer service from the front desk office manager. To be more specific the ONLY lady that is able to give the permit test. I have had many friends asking where they should take their children for driving school, and with her lack of customer service and neglect to inform the students when schedule changes occur I will never refer anyone to this school.

Jin-joo K 9 years ago

Negative experience: The receptionist is very rude to students. I asked her a simple question and she responded very rudely. I understand that it is annoying when people come to ask questions that have already been answered, but these are simple mistakes. And this is customer service... I've been told that she's nice but she's been nothing but snippy to me and other students. The permit test is very hard and complicated. My relatives don't even know some of the signs and rules that we're supposed to study. It's very rushed, so learn more about driving, traffic signs, and driving laws before taking this class because you will take your permit test during your first week. The instructor goes by too quickly when grading practice tests, so it's hard to understand our real scores. We don't even turn in our tests, and instead give out our answer out loud for the whole class to hear. I got the lowest grades because of my inexperience. If there was an option to reveal my scores more discreetly, that would be much appreciated.

Andrew Milner 9 years ago

Negative experience: My son completed 3 grueling weeks of class work but is refuse now that he is 18 to give him a certificate because he didn't complete the drive times due to shared custody. I did however pay for the whole shabang. My advice is do it online.

Fantastic experience: I love Driving School of Mansfield because honestly everyone is a good time and they treat driving school as more than just a place to learn to drive, but a place to learn about life. They tie driving school into every day life situations and it makes driving seem a part of life instead of just as something detached and trivial. The instructor is hilarious and very experienced with driving. This is a good place to be. 6:30 class,

Positive experience: The Driving School of Mansfield is an excellent driving school. It's effectively ran, is located in a clean neighborhood, well up-kept, and their driving courses are quick, but efficient. The ladies who run the building are hilarious teachers, but also polite and professional with all customers. My teenage Driver's Ed. course was completed in three weeks, I got my permit in less than one week, and I'm learning how to drive safely and effectively on the road.
