Fantastic experience: This is the place to get your CDL! If you are looking to get your cdl in a timely manner without breaking the bank look no further. The instructors are awesome and all have their own unique methods of teaching and helping you learn to drive. Jerry was a great teacher in the classroom and Chris, Lukas and Pedro helped me learn to drive making passing the test a breeze!

Negative experience: Some American instructors are acceptable, but most Polish or Russian instructors, such as ARTS, are terrible. They engage in bad-mouthing, inappropriate physical contact, and other unacceptable behavior. Overall, I do not recommend them. Many foreign instructors are subpar, and their trucks are old and in poor condition as well.

Negative experience: Here are the things I’ve witnessed/experienced during my time at Alphas yard training. You will always be sharing a truck with 1-2 other students unless you buy a private lesson A lot of the instructors are nice and friendly until you start messing up and then they become very frustrated and aggressive which is literally the opposite attitude you’re supposed to have as a teacher. Myself and another student witnessed a instructor berate a student to the verge of tears despite the fact she said this was the first time she’s ever driven a manual vehicle An Instructor just repeated the last note on my progress log and claimed I drove that day even though I didn’t despite the 5 hours I was there for. Instructors would only take me out driving for 30 minutes even though I’d been there for 8 hours! Instructors not showing up so the owner had to take me on the road and was extremely rude when I made mistakes despite telling him beforehand it was my second time driving and didn’t feel comfortable on the main roads with traffic yet. He also physically slapped my hand away from the shift stick, not for any Emergency reason but because I tried to downshift from 6th to 5th gear before I turned back into the schools truck yard. ALL the Instructors LIE TO YOU about the number of pull ups you get on the skills test (On the parking portion of the test you have 3 “pull ups” to straighten out the vehicle to fit within the parking space) you get 2 free pull ups but if you use 3 you lose a point [one point out of 12]). Leading me to fail one of my skills tests by ending it early and out of bounds because I thought I used all 2 of my chances to fix my mistake. Their training yard had so many old parking lines that aren’t painted over so you can’t even tell which are the old ones and which are the new ones They won’t let me use their trucks to test anymore even though I still have 2 attempts left with the DMV on the driving portion of the test. So I now have to outsource to a third party and rent their trucks. Oh and BTW if you fail 3 times on a test portion and need to wait 30 days to test again (per DMV regulations) the school is done letting you test with their trucks. Do yourself a favor and apply for a WIOA grant. They give it to almost everyone who applies and you’ll be able to take the course for free at any other reputable school. Something I wish I would have done but unfortunately was ineligible for due to a DUI I got 4 years ago. Good luck

Fantastic experience: Really good school, teachers in the classroom are very informative and they will answer all of the questions you have. Also all the instructors are very helpful and they will teach you everything you need to know to pass your exam without any issues. Highly recommend this school!

Fantastic experience: I would like to thank Alpha Trucking School for the experience and also preparing me for my CDL exam. Matt- was helpful, enjoyable, very knowledgeable and patient. He will not let you pass on to the next phase until you are accurate with your knowledge of your pre-trip. Big Art and Lil Art- Both are a Gem in the yard. They will not let you give up on your self. They will make you do it over and over until you get it right. Both Men are Great at teaching you what you need to know for passing. I really loved big Art Attitude and encouragement. Steven- What a Great instructor and I mean that, his Instruction is so on point he’s very calm and patient John and Charlie both are very cool and make sure that you get the job done. One thing John taught me is to talk it out while doing the skill to ease your brain and gain knowledge of what your are supposed to do. Luke- What a calm chilled sprit. This guy is so cool I once freaked out during straight backing he told me to hop out and walk it off. Once I did he let me continue on with backing and I did it. his patience is phenomenal! Alpha Trucking school is a great investment, I’ve passed and now I will be heading back into the classroom to get my endorsements. Very satisfied with going to this school.
