Fantastic experience: I had signed up with one of the instructors for the Test Prep drive, and it really helped me get ready for my test that I took a while after that. My instructor was very calm and did not make me feel anxious or nervous at all. He also gave me some great tips to remember while driving that I am still using after getting my license. Thank you to my instructor and ODS for all your help.

Fantastic experience: Ms. Becky was my favorite! She was extremely calm and talked me through everything that I was unsure of. She made me feel very relaxed and like a confident beginner driver. One of the other instructors made me feel tense and anxious while she on the other hand was amazing. I couldn’t have asked for a better driver instructor. Thank you Ms. Becky! You’ve truly shaped my driving experience.

Negative experience: Not sure which instructor I was behind, but you should consider some minimum ability before letting these kids on the road. 10 under and swerving is just a slow menace (but at least everyone was swaying on time with the music). Please, please, please try to only allow students with some experience behind the wheel. I understand student drivers will be slow and cautious whilst building experience, but the instructor should have intervened.

Fantastic experience: I’d like to really thank Official Driving School for the experience that it provided and I really cannot wait to learn more as I get older. I’d also really like to thank Mr. Jaylin and Mrs. Barnes, my instructors, for helping me along the way. They were incredibly kind and patient throughout the whole process, and did very well with their encouragement/praise when we did well. I’m sad to see my sessions come to an end, but happy with what I learned along the way. Thank you all and I’m so happy to have learned from you guys!

Fantastic experience: Yes, there is a process for getting into a course, just as there would be for any educational course, but I was able to call and have all my questions answered easily, and the outcome was worth it! I did a 2 hour road test prep session with Brian O’Hare, and he demystified parallel parking and gave me numerous tips that helped me prepare. When the day came, my test went smoothly, and I passed! It was huge having the opportunity to learn from a very knowledgeable instructor, and with what I learned from him, I was able to eliminate some of my test anxiety by successfully parking in my husband’s larger vehicle, which was my backup option, as well. I didn’t need it, but I was much less nervous knowing I could do it even if something went wrong with my own, smaller car before the test. Brian said he was used to teens, but as an adult learner, I still found him chill and easy to work with. I was a little skeptical when I first signed up, but it turned out to be money well spent, especially for someone with bad test anxiety who does not want the even worse anxiety that comes with taking the test a second time!

Fantastic experience: The Official Driving School team in Battle Creek is incredible!! Classes are informative, and the instructors make sure they build up the confidence of their students, by reinforcing positive driving habits and good decision making. An emphasis is put on the dangers of distracted driving and speeding.

Fantastic experience: I had about 2 drives before I had Jason and when I had him for my 3rd drive I chose him for the rest of my drives he walks you through everything perfectly and and if u have any questions he will always answer them and over everything else he makes u feel comfortable in your first drive with him to your last

Negative experience: Official Driving School does the bare minimum to get you a driver's license. Immediately starting classes, you get a sense of the lack of communication from teachers to students regarding zoom links, rescheduling classes and most of all the runaround they make you experience just to get the permit. I didn't have a copy of my birth certificate, didn't have any useful forms of ID and it took 2 weeks for them to certify my birth certificate (it was a copy, they only barely let that be used) AFTER I SHOWED THEM. Only useful if you want to waste a few hundred dollars for a mediocre driving school. Would probably not recommend to others.

Fantastic experience: Our son just completed segment one at Official Driving School at Lakeview Square Mall in Battle Creek. At the start, his schedule showed that he would have a few different instructors, but for his first drive he would have Mr. Chase. Since he had already heard great things about him from friends who formerly had him, he was looking forward to it. Immediately after, he asked me to change all of his drives under Mr. Chase’s instruction. Our schedule was pretty full so at first I left things alone until he persisted. We asked Mr. Chase’s availability and he worked around our schedule to fit him in. He communicated extremely well with us. Our son said, “He trusts me behind the wheel and shows me how to fix mistakes and doesn’t just take the wheel.” On his last drive, Mr. Chase told our son that he could have one of his parents drive with him if he wanted. I got to see first hand what an excellent instructor he is. He is relaxed, yet professional and gave me tips for when he gets his permit. Our son said that Mr. Chase will be teaching Segment Two and is looking forward to it. I hope so because I know he could learn a lot more from him. As far as an overall review goes, it was nice that whenever I called, I could speak to a person and not automated voice prompts. If I had to leave a message they always got back with me promptly and we’re very knowledgeable and courteous. I’m thankful that our son has had great instruction from Mr. Chase and has grown in confidence.

Fantastic experience: I had 2 of my teenagers go through the course simultaneously. Jason Barnes is fantastic! His positive energy helped ease the nervousness of both my kids and allow them to be more comfortable learning to drive. Becky, I can’t say enough kind words about her. She helped us in so many ways while dealing with a family tragedy. Helping us schedule make up classes and getting drives with both students at the same time so we could concentrate on other matters most importantly. I would recommend the Official Driving School in Battle Creek to anyone who has kids getting ready to drive, they are awesome!

Fantastic experience: As one of the students it was really fun to learn on the road with Jaylin. He made everything very calming and helped me through things and told me stories which was very calming but I sadly only had him twice.

Fantastic experience: My daughter just completed Segment 1 with Official Driving School in Battle Creek. She opted for the online courses and it was very convenient and easy. Mr. O'Hare was always on time and offered any needed support. Her driving sessions with Jason Barnes and Justin Mony were great! They both were patient and offered a great learning environment. Communication via email and text was prompt and timely. We highly recommend Official Driving School to anyone.

Fantastic experience: My daughter had the pleasure of driving with Jason Barnes as the instructor from the Official Driving School at Lakeview Mall in Battle Creek, Michigan . Jason is a personable guy, responded to calls and texts promptly. He is genuine and gives positive constructive feedback about each driving lesson. My daughter stated that he was very respectful and polite. Official Driving School is lucky to have him represent what the company is about. He surely went above and beyond to show he loves what he does and happy to do it. I hope Official Driving School recognizes him as an asset and gives him a raise. Fantastic experience: I highly recommend official driving school. They were professional and we will be sending our other three children here when they reach the required age.

Fantastic experience: I was a student in here, I had a positive experience with all the teachers. They offer support and solutions for problems you have in and out of class.

Negative experience: The communication they offer is TERRIBLE. You can call them so many times and be sent to voicemail. They don’t respond to you in time for anything.

Negative experience: This place only has two locations for taking your drivers test. Very inconvenient in my opinion

Fantastic experience: I have four children age 27, 24, 17 and 15 ....of my four children three attended drivers training through Sears which now Official Driving School. I have not had any issues or complaints that are significant in any way..... *Online process to sign up is easy and straight forward *Location is convenient & safe *Class times are convenient (if your schedule is tricky pick the class you need WAY in advance and sign up ASAP....because classes fill fast *Price is consistent with other programs the teachers teach the students the content needed to successfully obtain a drivers permit and then after segment 2 to successfully obtain a MI driver's license. The course includes classroom and drive time. The drive times are a little tricky to schedule because students are scheduling for themselves without time to coordinate with a parent so I suggest having your child find out the day they will start scheduling drive times and then give your child ots of dates with large blocks of time when they can schedule drives to make it easier for everyone plus if the child says I need to check with my parents then the drive times get filled quickly by other students so your child may be scheduling drive #1 & other kids are completing drive #2 or #3 (drive times have to work for instructor, your child and another student and the car has to be available too I believe). No complaints.

Negative experience: Signed up for a 6 hour course to get my driver's training and for over a week was not assigned an instructor am currently doing the motions for a refund. Not worth your time or money. They will keep telling you that "an instructor will get a hold of you tomorrow." While tomorrow never comes. They can take your $ just like that but a refund as usual takes about a week to ten days to get back.
