Fantastic experience: I have taken multiple classes (10+) with Ron from first time touching the wheel to now passed the driving test. He is kind, patient and professional. Lessons with him have helped me built the confidence on driving and learned the skillset of driving safely. Highly recommend to do driving lessons with Ron if you want to learn driving.

Fantastic experience: I had 12 hours of driving training with Ron which helped me pass the road test a lot. He has a flexible schedule, his rates are reasonable and he picks you up from your place and the you drive back at the end of the session. He is friendly, patient and takes you to the road and freeway that you will likely come across during the road testing.

Fantastic experience: Mr. Ron Kato was a great instructor. He makes you practice all the necessary skills for driving safely. He actually made me practice parallel and regular parking with cars around the spot (which is a real world required skill). His advice gave me a lot of confidence during my test and I am happy to say I am now a certified Michigan driver.

Negative experience: Foreign driver that moved to Michigan. Driving for 10 years in home country however everything is opposite compared to driving in USA. I took two Road Test Preparation packages with Ron however I was expecting to be properly trained on methods to pass the road test. 1. Ron does not have cones to set up in the testing site where the parking test is administered. Due to my driving experience, I was able to make it work however his methods on how and when to make turns when backing or parallel parking were not acceptable. It was all arbitrary and left me confused. For example, he teaches his students by providing landmarks such as "start turning when you reach this tree or turn when you see this crack in the road" He does not actually teach a workable method to back up or parallel park. The parallel parking test is within a very small space and the only way to master it is to practice using cones. For a driving instructor of 30+ years, he should have cones as educational tools otherwise there's no way you can pass the parallel park test. 2. I passed my test because I watched youtube videos and I went to the testing site (on non-test times) and kept practicing with cones set up. I am certain I would have failed if I had shown up and used only Ron's methods. 3. I also showed up to the testing site one day and spoke to one of the instructors and asked them for some guidance. This helped tremendously. I would agree with other reviews that Ron is kind however I would not recommend his classes for any new or even experienced driver. I felt like I did not get my money's worth.

Fantastic experience: Excellent experience. Ron is a really good driving instructor. I was pretty scared of driving in Michigan at first, but Ron made my learning experience very comfortable. I asked him a lot of questions and he was patient with me. My husband and I both took classes from him and we both cleared our tests.

Fantastic experience: Ron was amazing! I get really nervous with parallel parking, and had failed my test once. I got really helpful tips from Ron on how to approximate and use landmarks to create a mental map of where I should stop or turn for parallel parking during the test. I highly recommend Ron, he is very accommodating, and flexible. I am very grateful for his help!

It never felt like he was making me take more classes with him than I needed just to make more money. He is also flexible with scheduling and does not charge a higher rate to schedule one hour of driving instead of two.

I felt comfortable learning with him, and he gave me lots of extremely useful advice during pretty much every lesson. He was also very obviously extremely experienced with both the roads in the local area, as well as the testing routes and practices used by the nearby driving examiners. Fantastic experience: Mr. Kato is a wonderful instructor. I passed my road test on the first attempt. He is calm, gentle, and patient. Also, I once left my phone in his car by mistake and he drove back and returned it to me even if he was getting late. He is extremely punctual and prepares his students well for driving safe.

Fantastic experience: My 18 years old daughter told me that this school is the best. She has had 3 driving instructors from 3 different driving schools in AA. Ron from A-1 Wall Drive School is the best instructor. Ron is very patient, gentle, and sweet. She took the driving lessons from two other schools (one has only 5 stars reviews on Google and the other one has 4.1 stars review on Google) Although A-1 Wall Driver School has 60 reviews on Google, he has a lot of experiences. Other driving schools which my daughter attended only offer 2 hours driving practice, but Ron offered her one hour lesson. His hourly rate is $70. My daughter passes the road test today after practicing 3 hours with Ron. I will definitely have Ron to teach my youngest daughter and also recommend him to my friends.

Fantastic experience: Ron is a great driving instructor and I highly recommend him. He teaches basic driving skills and defensive driving in very realistic scenarios. His car has a brake at instructor side so it's extra safe for beginners. He offers pick-up before classes and drop-off after classes. He also knows how to teach students from other countries who have less idea about driving on American roads. He taught driving in Hungarian language in the past. I really appreciate his teach and recommend his class. (It's more convenient to reserve class through telephone than email or message him through his website, at least for me)

Fantastic experience: Ron is a patient and experienced instructor, and I highly recommend him. Ron explained everything very clearly and alleviated my fear of driving. He offered pick-up and drop-off for classes, which made the lessons convenient for me. Scheduling classes was easy, and I could decide how many classes I wanted to take. He is also aware that other countries have different driving cultures, and he incorporated that information into the lessons which helped me familiarize myself with driving in the US.

I was really under confidant while driving. He helped me clear the test at one go after I learnt from him. He also gives valuable tips to clear driving test and takes you to the neighbourhood around the driving test facility to make you familiar with the roads examiner may take. Fantastic experience: Ron is an incredible driving instructor. I’m 23 and was behind the wheel for the first time. I did about 15 hours of classes and learned SO much in such little time. Ron is super patient, helps you develop a strong defensive instinct on the road, and really gets you comfortable with all sorts of scenarios during his lessons. He’s also experienced getting students prepared for the road test in Ann Arbor so he’ll get students to drive the most frequently tested routes and help you ace the parking maneuvers. All in all, if you’re looking for an instructor in Ann Arbor, I cannot imagine anyone is better than Ron!

Fantastic experience: Ron is very patient. You feel at ease with him to ask questions. If your English is not the best, or if you get nervous while driving, he’d be a good match. Also, I was having a hard time finding a driving test appointment due to the COVID situation. He helped resolve that too. I needed to get a car for my driver's test and he helped resolve that too. Ron was very resourceful with all the necessary errands to enable me to take the road test. It was a relief for me because I don’t know how to go about these errands, and even if I did, these types of errands stress me out. I’m so glad he was able to help me throughout the entire process, from learning to drive, to getting an actual test date & car for my test.

My driving instructor, Ron, was very patient, flexible and was able to accommodate driving lessons within my busy schedule. He gave lots of good advice and with just 8 lessons, I felt comfortable taking the road test. If you live in the Ann Arbor area, the driving instructor also will pick you up/drop you off at your home, which was very convenient! Overall, excellent service and experience.

Fantastic experience: This is a great place for those of you who want to learn driving and prepare for the road test. With little experience of driving in the US, I passed the road test after nine hours ($55.00 / hour) of practice with a calm but attentive instructor. I found it effective to work with a professional instructor because otherwise I would have to practice with my partner, who always complained and nagged me about driving while sitting in the front seat!

Fantastic experience: After having completed 28 classes with instructor Ronald Kato, a complete amateur like me has developed marvellous confidence and command over driving. He is a perfectionist and it is this attitude that automatically pushes his students to become better and better at their driving skills. By being extremely critical at every point while teaching, he kind of overprepares his students for the driving road test. I have had a great experience learning with him and I strongly recommend him as a driving instructor for amateurs.

Fantastic experience: I've never driven for 25 years and Ron got me prepared for my test in three sessions (total of 4 hours). I passed on my first try. If you ever need to learn from scratch, this is your guy. Ron is one of the most patient, knowledgeable instructor I've ever met! He's been teaching for 47 years and knows exactly how to impart his wisdom onto bumbling first drivers like me. It helps if you continuously practice in between the sessions because he'll match your level as you improve. Excellent teacher.

He maximized what I got out of the lesson by focusing on what I could improve on the most and he seemed to really care about helping me learn. Fantastic experience: I can't remember the name of the guy that practiced with me , it was an older gentlemen. However he was FLAWLESS. I absolutely loved having him as a teacher. I was NERVOUS like extremely. Palms sweating, voice shaking , the whole 9 yards. But after a while I calmed down and got comfortable and he stayed calm the entire time. I was so glad he was patient with me. I would definitely recommend him if you're not sure who to go to. He met up with me at Briarwood mall too so it was fairly convenient. His prices are great too. 50 bucks for an hour along with great service, you can't beat it. Wish I could do more than 5 stars.

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend: if you are in Ann Arbor, go nowhere else. Ron is the person who can teach driving best! Was able to get the driving license in just couple classes from him! (although I was driving from few years in India). He is in this job since 40+ years, and is highly experienced! Fantastic experience: Ron Kato is a very nice and patient instructor. With no prior driving experience, I was able to get my Michigan driver's licence within a month. As I am an international student, Ron put more efforts in speaking slowing and repeated some important tips to me. It was a pretty nice experience with him. I highly recommend this instructor.

I recommend to everyone this company to learn efficiently and in a kind and positive atmosphere how to drive and be confident on the road. We also recommend him particularly for adult foreigners like us looking for driving education, as he is very patient. We took the driving lessons since the really very beginning. Ron efficiently built a strategy of teaching developing our self-confidence as a driver. Both of us we succeeded our road test in a month, and (what is more important) we can drive in the USA without fear. Ron was very flexible about schedule, picking us up from the place where we were living and finishing the lesson in the place which was best for us. If you wish to find someone with personalised approach to your learning, Ron is an excellent choice. After a few hours of classes with Ron, we were able to travel by ourselves through Michigan (400 Miles) without stress. A great experience!
