Negative experience: They are nice but clearly seem they have no idea what's going on scheduling seems to consistently get messed up making you have to waste money to drive all the way there just to say they messed up and you have to drive back home

Fantastic experience: 10/10 would recommend this school if you are looking to obtain your CDL. I recently graduated from this school and it has been an amazing experience. The staff and instructors are highly invested in their students, and their success. The trucks and trailers are in good operating condition. The facility is clean and well maintained. The teaching material covers all necessary knowledge to pass your cdl test. The instructors were truck drivers prior to being instructors, so they have the knowledge and experience. I would definitely go thru this school again.

Negative experience: Edit: They give you a number to call student relations… you call they tell you someone is going to look into and reach out regarding the situation.. it’s been over a month and we’re still waiting. I have called and followed up too. This school ended up screwing my family out of $5,000 because they weren’t willing to work with us. My husband who was born abroad on a MILITARY BASE to MILITARY PARENTS needed a copy of his birth certificate. We had a photo copy of his certified birth certificate from his military file (because he was joined and served as well) but was unable to get his CDL permit because it wasn’t a real copy of the birth certificate. When we explained this to Sage trucking they told us they would suspend it for 9 months. Now mind you at the time per the vital statistics for birth certificates for those born abroad was anywhere from 8 MONTHS to 1YEAR for processing. We finally got the call that his birth certificate will be here in 2 weeks… however the school has kicked him out months prior to this. Now the school says that if he wanted to do the schooling again we have to pay out of pocket again. Sorry but a school who can’t work with situations like this isn’t a school that should be considered. What would happen if you had a family emergency? Later my husband discovered that companies will pay for someone to learn their CDL.. so really Sage is a worthless school. Enjoy your stolen money Sage!

Negative experience: well after finding out I couldn't get my CDL from the DMV without a certain copy of my birth certificate I was placed on suspension pending getting my birth certificate from vital statistics, I was told it was going to take 8 months to a year to get that done. I let sage know and they said that they would hold it for me for up to 8 or 9 month. well today I found out that in 2 weeks I will actually have my birth certificate. unfortunately I was already kicked out by now. The idaho department of Labor gave me the money (thank you taxpayers) to pay for trucking school through sage, unfortunately after they kicked me out they decided to keep all the money (Your tax dollars) And then had the audacity to say that I dropped out. That's almost $5,000 of taxpayer money that they stole after kicking me out, now I have to pay back the state which is understandable except for the circumstance that sage won't give back the state money. also learned a couple months ago that the big trucking companies will actually send you to get your CDL and train you the way they want to so sage trucking school is completely useless companies like Warner send you to their own training facility so what's the point of sage? anyway avoid them like the plague they are more of a scam than they are a school. You should check out some of the reviews that only reinforce this fact. TLDR: Sage screwed over a disabled veteran and stole tax dollars because I had to wait on the US government to find my information and send it back. EDIT: despite their show of good faith by telling me to call them, I did indeed call them and left my information because they didn't answer the phone. It has been an entire week and they have yet to call me back. That must be their way of showing people that they reply without actually following through. I'm so shocked that sage trucking is not following through with something considering they have no quorums with taking taxpayers money after kicking out a student waiting on The feds to get the paperwork done.

Fantastic experience: I CANT speak highly enough about Sage! If you're interested in getting a CDL this is where to go. The instructors are some of the kindest, most knowledgeable and patient people. And each has such a helpful way of teaching you esp for someone like myself who didn't even know a single part of an engine or had Any experience driving anything so large when I started! They truly care about your success and understanding. They bring an amazing sense of humor and comfort to the entire process. The instructors really build you up from day one. And they truly value your time and work with you in every single way to accommodate the school w other jobs or family life. And even the other students are so kind and positive and supportive. You can tell it's a culture they've created. The worst part was passing my FIRST TRY cause I wouldn't get to see the amazing staff every day anymore! Ill literally miss everyone i met there. Don't go anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: My time at SAGE was well spent and an amazing experience learning how to drive a semi truck to obtain my cdl. I was encouraged to drive the manual and from that point on the instructors I had were all patience as you’re understanding the concept of shifting on the road and also maneuvering in the yard. With all of the knowledge they have combined you learn a lot from their experiences. Everyone of the staff members here goes above and beyond for the students. I would highly recommend anyone interested in getting there cdl to go through SAGE

Fantastic experience: I decided to get my CDL because I realized I value the time I get to be on the road to see things I haven't seen before and to spend time with myself... and get paid and be required to take naps!!! Doesn't get much better than that! I chose Sage because I felt it was the place I'd get the most hands on experience which is crucial in this industry. I feel fortunate to have been given the opportunity to not only learn how to drive but also I feel like I was able to cultivate some very important relationships that will be with me throughout my new career. Sage is one of the most respected Trucking schools in the industry and I am so proud and grateful to be able to say that this is where I was trained.

Fantastic experience: If you're reading this, you are probably interested in getting your CDL. Well, from the heart, these guys make it so super easy to pass all the state test. It won't seem like it at times, but when the test(driving, written) come along,everything they taught you makes the test simple. Oh and you also learn how to drive a tractor trailer. But the thing that truly separates them from any other school, is they treat you like your family, they actually CARE. I was having trouble with down shifting and instead of just keeping me on my schedule, where I wouldn't have been able to by the time I took my test: they focused on that issue until I got it. From the front office folks, Jelena, Candice and Michelle(who are God sends) to ALL the driving instructors. You WILL pass your state test. Special shout out to Matt, Sean, Tony and Max for treating me like I was family and wanting me to do nothing but Ace the test. It meant the world to me. If I missed someone I apologize, but do understand I'm old. You guys are the best!

Fantastic experience: I could not have asked for better informative and knowledgeable instructors as the ones I got to work with at sage truck driving in Caldwell. They were prepared with any question I may have asked with an answer that made sense and was understandable. The time I spent during orientation and in the classroom was very to the point and on topic I'm very grateful for the skills that I was able to gain by going through their class a training course.

Fantastic experience: Attended SAGE Trucking School - CALDWELL, IDAHO in July 2023. This school teaches all you need to know for the CDL test. Great behind the wheel instruction. The instructors really get you ready to pass the CDL skills test. I am glad I attended SAGE.

You have many years of wise and experienced Drivers as your Trainers with hands on teaching and demonstrating their abilities with the understanding that we all learn, comprehend and accomplish challenges in different ways. You will have many one on one opportunities to grasp all that is needed to pass your State CDL exam and driving test. From the Director, office staff and Trainers you will experience a true and genuine bunch of people that want you to succeed and be safe. This is challenging, sometimes frustrating and not easy, but oh so rewarding when you pass that final test with your State Examiner. You will be equipped with abilities to join a lucrative career and they even have companies that come in to recruit you right out of school. If you have ever thought about hitting the open road as a Professional Driver I would look no further than Sage Trucking in Caldwell, Idaho.

Fantastic experience: Having experience in teaching at a driving school in Ukraine, I can say that the organization of training and professionalism of instructors and teachers of the SAGE driving school are great. Learning is effective, the duration is optimal in time, the attitude towards students is wonderful. I will also add that even without being fluent in English perfectly, you will be able to master the course and successfully pass the skill test. I recommend it!!! P.S. Fantastic experience: It was great ,I will recommend it others . This was my second time attending. As my first cdl expired. The instructor are knowledgeable and patient and have relevant information to share .that is current .Jelena the director is awesome and will help with financial planning and assistance .as well as job placement with current open positions ,with top shelf company's. They come to the school and do presentations and recruitment events .this is not a fly by night school they have in the Caldwell ID area since 1995. Many others have came and gone . They have a 98 percent pass rate. They give all the fundamentals and knowledge needed to be a successful professional driver .

Для всіх тих, хто хоче почати свою кар’єру в сфері перевезень я рекомендую цю школу. Всі інструктора професійні водії с великим досвідом, завжди підскажуть, покажуть та допоможуть якщо це потрібно. Від моменту початку теорії до екзамену пройшло приблизно 40 днів, майте це на увазі якщо вам потрібна швидкість, а не якість. Велика увага приділяється паркуванню, але в програму школи не входе парковка під 90 градусів , але якщо захочете спробувати то вам допоможуть. Траки всі в гарному стані, в ході навчання ви їздите і по місту, хайвею, невеликих дорогах , а також на майданчику де вчитесь виконувати різні вправи. Рекомендую!

Fantastic experience: I can't say enough good things about the staff and trainers at Sage Truck Driving School. Not only did they provide excellent training, but they were supportive when, to quote one of my trainers, I "lost my way" and needed to get my mojo back. They were patient, and broke down the steps into manageable pieces and cheered me on when I suceeded. Jelena worked with me to help me be successful. Negative experience: I’d give zero stars if I could. I received my CDL here. Sage Gave a glowing recommendation for Doug Andrus out of Idaho Falls so I signed on with DA. Doug Andrus wanted me to falsify my Hours of Service Logs so I quit and reported them to FMCSA. When I reported what happened to Sage, Sage told me that they have a good reputation with Doug Andrus and I must be mistaken. I won’t recommend a school that will preach one thing then look the other way when it happens in real life.

Fantastic experience: This is an excellent example of getting what you pay for. While Sage is more expensive than a lot of schools, it is WELL worth the money. The instructors at the Caldwell school are all professionals. They were intelligent and encouraging, even for a student like me who struggled at parts of learning to drive. Even after graduation I felt there was no problem with me coming in and asking questions about specific companies or just driving in general. And let me also say that if you graduate from Sage. it is a major bonus when getting jobs from the best companies out there.

Fantastic experience: Everyone working here is absolutely amazing. From Jelena the director who got me started the day after my funding was approved to all the classroom and driving instructors, Dan, Perry, Janet, Bert, Doug and Matt, who took their time with me even though I was on an accelerated refresher course to make sure I passed all the testing. They routinely have companies to talk to and do what they can to get you with a great company.
