APN Driving School

Negative experience: Unfortunately I did not have pleasant experience with Mr.jean. My mother and I came to him two years ago (January 2022) for private lessons. I was new to driving, and had no experience. Often while driving, he would insult me. Most of conversation were in creole since we were both Haitian and he would say “how I wasnt good driver”, “I must be slow” and how can I be “a young person and this clueless”. Comments I unfortunately remember to this day. As an instructor this is completely inappropriate, Unprofessional, and disrespectful comments to make. I often would express to Mr. jean that I don’t have any driving experience. (Hence why I went to him in the first place…learn how to drive) that went in one ear and out the other. He would often still degrade me. He still would have a very short temper. also prior to taking lessons, the prices would never stay the same. He would typically upcharge and wouldn’t give my exact change back. The communication wasn’t the best as well. For example, one day I called him asking him what time he would be free and told me to come since he’s free at the moment. Once arriving at the school, he would be busy with other clients, and made side comments to me that I came too early and shouldn’t have come… My experience was very disappointing since I was very excited to take classes from him.. however this experience was horrible. mr. Jean was lot more nicer to the adults clients. If your an adult, you’ll might get a better experience. However if you’re a young teenager looking for lessons, and you have no driving experience, I wouldn't recommend.

Fantastic experience: Truly great and good experience to be able to have good instructors and being able to learn and reach new heights. Recommend to anyone looking to start their journey in the driving world.

Negative experience: Horrible driving school please don’t waste your money here. The owner has a horrible attitude and wants to over charge!

Fantastic experience: I have nothing but praise for Mr. Jean! What a wonderful experience from start to finish. Jean has been working with me behind the wheel practices for 6 months he’s a patient one I tell ya that! He’s very, very flexible with working with your schedule and practicing on YOUR TIME, he’s gonna find time for you might be extra early, or kind of late but he will find time. He makes sure you get what your supposed to be doing, and he made me feel at ease the entire time which I truly appreciated, driving is a scary thing but with, Jean your in great hands! Also, kudos to his right hand man who helps in the office, Alan he was also always very polite, and helpful!

Negative experience: This was terrible experience never again I recommended to never come here please don’t waste time and your money. The instructor is a very nice guy but the place is the same as you see from the photos from 8 years but more dirty and nasty, it’s very unprofessional.

Negative experience: I don’t usually leave bad reviews on anything but it’s been like three years since I paid this place $300 or something to learn how to drive. I wasted my money. The person who taught me (Cameroonian man) was terrible. He barely taught the written stuff and he damn sure didn’t do much for the road. I told this man many times no one has a car in my family but he still says I needed to learn outside of him practicing with me. He said I should paid for extra. Why would I pay you when you’re fed up with me every time I’m with you practicing and asking questions? I once asked him if he wanted me to turn and he rudely said “did I ask you to turn?” Mind you, he was talking on the phone the ENTIRE time he was supposed to be teaching me. He gave me such anxiety that I would be glad when he couldn’t make it for whatever reason. He either didn’t answer the phone or was too busy or always with a family emergency. He even once stopped practice when I made a mistake (he wasn’t even explaining things well or being patient). He was fed up so quickly and said we were done. Why would you tell me that I’m the only one left and all my classmates have left me behind? If it wasn’t for my mom practically begging her coworker to help me, I would have never passed the driving test and Thank God, to now driving on the road with my own car. If he did right by others, I’m glad to hear that. But for me, he was HORRIBLE!

Negative experience: Please be aware of the fraud driving school. I had a very weird experience with them. Last month, I called them and spoke to the Receptionist and he confirmed me the class changes and infact I again called to check the documents needed and then reconfirmed the charges of the class and he said now, he cannot give the class changes mentioned earlier as his boss asked to pay the higher charges now due to Covid inflation and I asked him why didn't he check before hand while confirming to me earlier and then he said ok, you come, I will take the earlier mentioned charges only. I went and paid and took the receipt and started taking the class. After almost 1.5 hours the Owner Jean Vil, came and asked me to pay the higher price. I was shocked to hear that but since I was giving the test that time and didn't want to have the argument so paid the difference and he took my receipt issued earlier and made the changes in that receipt. This is a total case of fraud that even after issuing the payment receipt, howcome he can ask the client to pay higher. I would not suggest anyone to take class from them without making sure that they will not do the same fraud with anyone else.

Fantastic experience: Mr. Jean is truly a gentleman, very kind and calm who teaches you how to drive safely. I've been here for a month and then I received my license. First try that was a good experience I recommend everyone to come to this school.

Mr. Jean the instructor is a very patient and fair teacher, i felt at ease with him and was very knowledgeable. He pushes you to do your best and keeps you accountable. Negative experience: Jean insist I pay for 6 hours package which i did. He doesn't take any form of payment except cash. After i paid for the six hours package and drove for hours, he asked me for more money and refuse to let me practice for the remaining two hours. So beware.

Fantastic experience: great great experience with Jean who strives to educate you to a safe and risk free driving. I had a car accident 15 years ago and the idea of going back into a car was impossible. It took me some time to gain some confidence behind the wheel but I did it, really thanks to Jean. jean is extremely calm, which is absolutely great when you are anxious and afraid of the road. He adapts to your schedule (I had two back to back pregnancies and he was patient enough with me) and in my case, he was always picking me up to give me some time to drive in my neighborhood. He is extremely respectful and I ad great pleasure driving with him. Last, before the exam, he was fully dedicated to me to make sure I succeed the test. I was anxious with the parallel parking, so we parallel parked until the last minute of the exam. I cannot be more thankful to him and grateful to have found APN. I recommend APN to every one who feels uncomfortable driving and wants refreshing classes, to new students, and every parent who want their children to be a safe driver.

Fantastic experience: John is amazing! The test was passed without any pressure. I rang a week ago and John helped arrange a 2h session immediately ON THE DAY. Other schools all said it had to be at least one month to give a behind wheel session. John managed to give 10 hrs session in the following week. He then helped agian book a driving test and today I got my driving licence. It only took a week from I contacted with John to pass the test. I want to give 6 stars if possible.

Fantastic experience: This driving school is the perfect place to be at when you want to know how to drive! The instructor (jean) is very good and straight forward when he needs to be and gives you very useful tips on how to make sure that you are successful at driving on the road, or parking in a certain way. He is also a really calm and humorous guy that helps you calm your nerves when it comes to preparation for a driving test in an hour.(which was my case.) He's calm and humorous but he is also very professional which is what I rate in a driving instructor. There is a balance between the two which is tuff. With him he also makes you feel very confident and gives you the feeling of knowing that you can successfully perform a maneuver. He's also reliable when it comes to needed a car to take the driving test with. Unfortunately, ever since Covid, a lot of driving schools in my area revoked the rule of being able to rent a car. And a lot of rent-a-car dealerships only allow you to get a car if YOU yourself have a drivers license. And most people that want to rent a car for a driver's test don't have a license themselves to do so. But with APN Driving School, they will let you rent a car without a license. You just need your permit (and obviously pay the fees for rent) and you're good! I look forward to being in touch with this driving school again in the future. Thank you so much for everything!!

Fantastic experience: The classrooms were clean and organized. It was a smooth process. My instructor was very helpful when showing me the details of the test and therefore, I passed the driving skills test on my first try!

Fantastic experience: After getting my provisional license I gotta say this driving school is amazing, I literally wanted to spend more than 2 weeks in this school; that’s how amazing this school was and is still is, I met a lot of people in my time in this school and all have different lives but the teacher: Jean, always make sure he doesn’t leave anyone out whether you only know Spanish or French he always make sure your getting the lesson. Jean (the teacher and the owner of the company) is so cool he taught me how to order Chinese food in Chinese and i always find it funny how he adds chicken popeye into the lesson, if there was 4 helpful words in a sentence that Jean helped me remember every time I enter a car is that “license and registration please”
