Fantastic experience: I was in this class and it was great. There is food king nearby and there’s a boba shop so you never go hungry. Also Donny is so funny. He’s such a silly doofas and I also learned a lot from him, Louie and Lorena. If I ever have children, they’re coming here. Don’t listen to one star reviews cuz i bet they’re so fake and just trying to put Donnie in a bad light. I recommend you bring a friend tho cuz it’s way more fun Also the driving range was very helpful, I learned so much in the obstacles and even though I ran over a cone they were very supportive about it. Negative experience: I'm changing my review because although I'm happy to have had my license from this driving school I feel like I didn't learn anything. I payed $1000 and I didn't learn anything. I have to agree with the 1 star reviews. All we did was drive to the driving school basically from the depot and then I automatically was passed. 15 minute drive. Afterwards we simply went around the block for 2 hours driving around the same area. How Is that teaching someone how to drive? Driving consists of alot more than just driving around the block for 2 hours. I feel like more should have been Included In that time. Their site says It's a 5 hour course of $750.00. I was charged $1000 for a little over 2 hours of actual driving. I don't understand. NM handbook says you need up to 52 hours of driving, and somehow this driving school can pass you If 2-5 hours? Huh? So I'm highly upset with this school. They wanted to charge additional money for extra driving lessons when those things should have been taught when paying all that money up front. We are paying money to learn how to drive. We aren't paying money to drive around the block and the later find out we aren't ready for the actual road. Anyone can drive around a darn block. So they pass you and then you're your own. Its a short driving school. Even my mom told me I don't know what I'm doing and I've been driving since March. I still need to center the wheel, judge distances when stopping, not stopping too short. Ect. My mom was nice enough to get me a car. Had a minor accident. Stupidly reported It, and was dropped and now In NM, I can't find any good insurance. Some of them want 6 months up front and I can't afford It. Now my car has to be decided on. Very disappointed with this school. Go to this school If you are that desperate for a license like I was. I do not recommend. I wasted $1000 here. Finding someone to teach you would be better, talking you through It, taking you all over, If they have an old car and ect

Fantastic experience: Donny of ABC Driving school was wonderful. Communication was timely and professional, and he quickly built rapport with my almost 16 year old daughter. After more than 30 hours of driving with me, she had made only little progress and had no confidence. This is when we asked Donny to take her for some behind the wheel hours. After a handful of sessions, she not only gained confidence but she is now ready to get her license. Donny made all the difference, and I recommend him highly.

Fantastic experience: ABC Drivers Ed is a great place to send your kids for drivers Ed. It's convenient, fast and only 1 month of schooling. They have great and easy schedules for your kids to learn to drive after school. They are professional and always contact you back if have questions or concerns. I have put 5 of my kids thru ABC Drivers Ed and would refer everyone to go to ABC.

Fantastic experience: Hello, I recently took the driving lessons and it was the best experience. I never drove before taking the private lessons and at the end of the day I was able to travel at any road around the city. Donny was very patient and nice in teaching me driving. I got my driving license after passing all the exams real quick. I would highly recommend ABC drivers

He was very patient and went above and beyond in assisting us to learn, guiding us on becoming drivers and even taking a look at our starter car and instructing us on what we needed to do to get it road ready, even helping us obtain items we'd need to get it up and running. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Our teenage daughter attended Driver's Education at ABC, and came away with more confidence behind the wheel and an excellent working knowledge of the rules of the road. I even learned a few things from her! Great start to a lifetime of safe driving.

Negative experience: Over this summer 2023, I was excited to go ahead and complete some extra driving hours to finally get my NM driving license. As someone who drove beforehand and needed to fix a few issues here and there for not driving for some time, I decided to pay the adult education course offered at ABC Drivers Ed. Despite my early attempts to understand the direction of the teaching approach of my instructor Donny and the overall course, I was unable to achieve my goal at this time. I received shallow and obscure response and direction. Whenever I insisted to know what's going on, Donny never gave me a clear answer. It was pretty frustrating but I decided to be flexible. My bad. I wanted to complete a class for an hour a week, but Donny often offered to complete the class in two (2) hours. I don't think that's healthy and fair for a student. Personally, I felt pressured by Donny to complete as many hours as possible in a short period of time. I quite never understood the rush. He also often asked me to complete many hours in a week, even though I kept saying I'm unavailable. If I have to do it again, I will make my booking directly from the website, be more private about my personal driving practice and do not ask to drive more than an hour in one session. It didn't even make sense to me when he asked me to drive additional hours since I drove him for hours around town at least once and we went on the highway more than once. He was telling me how I was doing a good job and all. Very deceiving. In fact, Donny almost puts our lives in danger at one time as I blindly followed his driving instructions on a highway. My learning experience with Donny was unsatisfactory and poor because I left somewhat unsure about my driving skills even after the hours paid for my adult driving education course from ABC Drivers Ed. Donny said I have to learn one or two things but he actually fails to give the tools to achieve that while I was taking the course with him. He come across as courteous and friendly but as a teacher at a core, I won't recommend him unless you're ready to give him more money by paying additional driving classes. Reflecting back, I think since the beginning, his business objective was to get me to pay additional hours and earn more money that way because the charge is much higher. To be honest with you, I felt ripped off for my time and money by Donny and ABC Drivers Ed.

He immediately put me at ease and provided me with the confidence and guidance I needed to succeed! I really can’t imagine having anyone else get me back on the road again—he is a kind and patient man and I highly recommend his school! Five stars!

Fantastic experience: I'm 43 and had never driven before, partly because I grew up with an excellent transportation system, and mainly because of a big car crash I was involved in when I was in my twenties (and several smaller ones as a child). Living in the San Francisco Bay Area over a year ago, I didn't really need to know how to drive. Having moved to Santa Fe, NM however was now a different story. Time had come for me to take the leap. And it was no small leap, by my standards. Donny was my teacher, and I drove with him for 19 hours. I really wouldn't have done it with just anyone. I needed someone I could trust, someone patient and kind, someone with the proper reflexes one expects an instructor to have. Donny fitted the bill perfectly, above and beyond. My gratitude for now having my driver's license is deep. I learned that I actually love driving, and gained through the process of learning how to do so a great deal of confidence, and a priceless sense of independence. It was a big learning curve, and potentially one of the most difficult ones in this life, and I did it, thanks to Donny & ABC Drivers Ed. I highly recommend him & his school to anyone my age who's having a hard time taking the leap. And of course to anyone else, too! :)

Fantastic experience: Professional, courteous, patient instructor (Donny Robertson) who provides sensible road knowledge along with excellent practice.

Negative experience: I was conned of a 1000$. I paid for private lessons before taking the road test. The instructor just got me right on the highway and later all I could get was a restricted driver's license. He kept checking his watch all through and insisted we do all three hours driving on same day. He gave me no lessons. He was just after getting money from me. I'd think twice before going here.

Fantastic experience: An outstanding school with professional management and staff who are very helpful, punctual, and patient. Donny is the best driving instructor I have ever had, and prepared me well. He is calm, patient, and clear when giving instructors, and helped me become a much better driver. I recommend him highly.

Fantastic experience: This is a very good driving school, I am a 29 year old foreign resident, took the 5hrs private class here, Donny helped me learning and practicing driving on the road and passing the written and road test. I got my driver's license immediately.

Negative experience: My son paid over $400 to learn how to drive, but they NEVER take them driving! What's the point ? That's literally the whole reason he wanted to take the class.

Fantastic experience: Donny at ABC is an amazingly patient teacher. I am a 61 year old new driver who was terrified to get behind the wheel. Donnie helped me learn the rules of the road and was understanding about my rookie mistakes. He would gently correct me and then have me practice a maneuver again until I got it right. He was always complimentary when I succeeded at it. It took me about a month but I was finally confident enough tonight to get passed for my driver’s test. I will be forever grateful to him for helping me get past this hurdle. And he has a wonderful sense of humor as well! Very easy to become comfortable with him which is NOT true of all driving instructors. Highly recommend him for those learning to drive at a more advanced age and bet he is incredible with young drivers as well. Even though I have been passed for my license now, I plan to hire him to help me get comfortable with some of the more narrow roads here in Santa Fe because I trust him so much!

Negative experience: These people are the worst. If you have other options, exercise them. They don't answer the phone. They don't answer email. They are rude and unprofessional. If you question them, they will yell at you.
