Negative experience: The school provided me a completely different car day of the road test and the brakes and gas on the car sucked, I tried to explain to the owner Paul how it didn’t make sense to have a new car the moment of my test especially when the practice before the exam was with rhe car I used the whole time he was very unprofessional over the phone claiming I couldn’t drive when I had did perfect on everything on the exam but the speed because of the gas and brake
We are very sorry to hear you failed your road test. However, the examiner did give you a score sheet after your exam that highlights where you went wrong and what you could use a bit more practice on. We apologize that the car you used was different during your exam. One of the reverse lights on the car had gone out during your practice. When we arrived at the RMV, the examiner noticed and informed our instructor that we needed to provide a different car, or they would not be testing you. We did not plan on switching the cars nor did we switch them with any malicious intent. It was only done to carry on with your testing. As the other option was to reschedule your exam (they would have still charged you for the exam, even if you did not take it). Furthermore, every car is different when braking and accelerating. Our goal is to teach our students not just to drive one car well but to be able to drive so well that they can adjust to every car they drive later in life. If the switch from car to car threw you off enough that you blame the car for failing the exam, you might not have been ready to take the exam yet and may have needed some more lessons. Eight hours of driving isn’t enough to learn how to drive this machine. Normally you would require 50+ hours of driving. Many people have hired us just to use this car with no practice beforehand (they just get in the car and take the test). This car alone has done hundreds of tests and many have passed, this is the first time we have had anyone complain that the pedals/ braking and acceleration “suck”. Please be aware that the practice that you received before the exam was entirely on us, because the funding we received did not cover the cost of the practice before your exam, we would have had to subtract one lesson to financially cover the cost of the practice. Once again, we are sorry to hear that you failed, and good luck on your journey getting your license.

Hello Jack, we are sorry to hear that you are uphappy. Not sure what hidden fees you are describing? Considering, all our fees are listed on our price sheet and website. Also are late cancel policy is posted in our cars, listed on the price sheet and posted in our office in several places. As for the rude instructor we have several instructors and we are all Professionals and our goal is to have all adults, (young and old) and teenagers learn how to drive a car responsibly and safely. Are roads have become very more dangerous in the last few years. With teen driving deaths on the rise. Sometimes we may say something that may sound rude but we are just trying to stress the importance of being a safe and responsible driver, on these dangerous roads. Negative experience: It’s been a long time since I haven’t seen Paul or the other instructors. My experience with them in the past has been extremely bad. On my first road lesson I failed to do hand over hand technique and Paul had to help me out with it. As I try to do hand over hand by myself during that time the instructor unprofessionally grabbed the steering wheel without letting me do hand over hand by myself. My 2nd and 3rd road lessons weren’t that bad, but then on my 4th road lesson that’s where things began to become worse. I had this one instructor who was very aggressive towards me and when I had him again on my 6th road lesson I remember how he smacked my hand when I didn’t turn the wheel using hand over hand and I didn’t like it at all. When I had him on my 7th road lesson, my turning skills were starting to improve with him, but at the end he says that I haven’t been driving for the past two months after my 6th lesson which is definitely not true. I practiced driving with my dad the entire time during those two months and you guys really think I didn’t drove back then, how pathetic are you guys! As I got Paul again for my 9th road lesson, I remembered how when I turned without using hand over hand again he asked me “Is this how you guys turn the wheel?” Answer: Not really, sometimes my parents can do hand over hand but other times they would do other techniques like push and pull or simply turning left or right without moving their hands. Also Paul I just realized that for some reason you want me to be perfect when it comes to turning the wheel, but the reality is that I’m not perfect and neither is my family and everyone else! I’ve seen some people who don’t use hand over hand and just simply turn the car the way they want to. Also not to mention how I remember you said that I might need more road lessons but sadly that didn’t happen at all. Plus if I were to get more road lessons I would have to have my dad pay you lots of money, but he doesn’t want to just because he thinks your lessons are bad. As I completed the last three road lessons I decided to no longer talk with you and instead I would have my dad practice with me until my road test. I took my road test in Taunton and after I failed 2 times this spring I passed successfully on my 3rd attempt last month on August 4. As of now I can drive wherever I go, however I still need more experience driving with my father. Because I got my license already, the only positive thing I want to say to you Paul and the other instructors is that I’m very grateful for what you guys have done with me in the past and even though my experience with you guys wasn’t that great, you guys have helped me become a safer and better driver. Without you guys I wouldn’t have become a driver like everyone else, so I’m really thankful for it! Thank you guys for helping me on this journey! Stay safe and enjoy the rest of your life! Kevin sorry to hear that you feel you had a bad experience, we are here to try to help you learn how to drive a very dangerous machine. Sometimes, it can be a little frustrating, we need to grab the steering wheel from time to time so you don't crash our car. I apologize if you feel that one of our instructors slapped your hand, I'm sure he didn't slap it intentionally. He was probably trying to grab the wheel and slapped your hand in the process. We did advise you that you needed more road lessons and you had scheduled them but then cancelled them and said you would practice with your dad. We hoped you had continued your road lessons, so this way you wouldn't've failed the test 2 times. Our goal is to get you to pass the first time. As you state in your review, we show you how to drive the car the proper way so you can pass your test the first time, we then do tell you you can drive how ever you want after that. Negative experience: I personally went to the office to bookmark son's lessons and paid $60 dollars up front for his first lesson the young lady never mentioned to me how this works so moving forward my son takes his first driving lesson and then the following week he's due for his next one and Noone shows up so he calls the place and the guy says you didn't pay the driver for your next class so I canceled all your future classes that were booked, since that didn't sit well with me as a caring parent I called the place and tried to speak with him, he called me ignorant and said that it's common sense that you have to pay up front and that he would call me back after and never did. People like this need to be reported, I'm actually going to search further and report this guy he's very unprofessional and rude.

Hi Emmanuel, thank you for comment, I'm sorry you feel we where arrogant. However driving a car is a serious thing and we take teaching how to drive very seriously we do our best to maintain a level of safety for ourselves and all the other people on the road as well. We follow the rules of the road so you can pass your road test so you can pass the test 1st time however if you choose not to follow them this is why you failed the test. Fantastic experience: My name is Lisa. I failed my first road test. It was my fault but it didn't help that Flint driving school was late and in a rush and adding to my anxiety. So when I booked A&M driving school I was pleasantly surprised that the guy that showed up for my road test had a sense of humor and good vibes. They called me the day before unlike the other one who didn't communicate. I can't say enough about A&M driving school but I aced my road test. Thank you so much to them and I will always recommend them.

Negative experience: I don't know about the other instructors, but Mr. Paul is very unprofessional. Mr. Paul left class for 30 minutes and left my friend to watch the rest of the teens in the class with her. He blamed her when he came back and saw that she couldn't get the other teens to do what they were supposed to be doing. He threatened to make her pay him $50 if she left the class that day. He also vapes in a classroom full of teens. If people want to vape, so be it, but doing that at your job is unprofessional. You don't know if anyone in the classroom has Asthma or other health conditions. Also, my friend quit this school to go to a different one. She was not kicked out. She quit.
Thank you Savannah for your feed back we appreciate all reviews positive or negative. Here at A&M we strive to do our best with helping students achieve there goal of getting there license. After all driving is a very serious responsibility and we take it very seriously. Please keep in mind that our classroom is monitored by video surveillance and there is no reason to leave anyone in charge of anything. Cameras record everything. Everyone needs to be in charge of there own actions and not worry about what others are doing. Because of her actions this is why she had to be told to leave class because of her constant disruptions. I apologize but we can only be so tolerant of people constantly being disruptive. Other students also paid a lot of money to be here to learn. We are sorry that it didn't work out and we wish her the best of luck. We had offered half of her money back and that was refused. Once again everything is monitored on camera and I do the best I can but there is 0 tolerance for what actually happened. As for the vaping you are correct and the camera will show me leaving the class room and going into my office away from the class. Once again thank you for your review and have a great day.
Negative experience: not very professional very rude to my daughter every time my daughter books a road lesson half hour before her lesson they call her up and said there car was in an accident the next day road lesson they call her half an hour before her road lesson telling her that there car broke down so what kind of a driving school is this just be aware of the excuses they pull to cancel road lessons not a happy camper this happened to my daughter
Hi Bryan, I'm Sorry that you are not happy. Unfortunately on Saturday May 1st. Someone ran a red light and crashed into our car. If you would like proof I can email you the picture of the car also I can send you a copy of the accident report. That left me with 2 cars. 1 of the cars is a 2014 with over 200,000 miles and the Water Pump went on the car a few days later. I apologize for this inconvenience and I did offer to reschedule your daughter's road lessons during my off hours. It's unfortunate that these things happened but they were outside of my control. Negative experience: Read through the reviews and discern for yourself. Our experience was horrible. Our 15 year old daughter did not feel safe with the owner P"""" who is also the instructor. We found that He was very rude (especially towards young women) , a teller of lies, unprofessional , and so much more. I do not understand how this man can be an instructor with a recent drug abuse problem (look into his workman's comp claim lawsuit ) as he admits to IV drug use and snorting medication . Though he did claim to be on Suboxone, now. I do not see how the state has not picked up on this , though I will be directing their attention to this. He refused to allow my daughter to transfer to another school and has held her $850. I personally went to speak with him , but it di not go well. I wrote a detailed review on another site but then was harassed and then tried to blackmail me into taking it down by offering me $800 of the $850. I refused that . I tried to explain that these reviews should drive him to be better as it is a way of accountability but yet he swore at me , called me many different names, attacking my faith , and so much more. However , I told him that if he were to return the money that was given in full that I may consider giving a follow up message saying that he did so refund the money , but I will not remove what we went through. It is a freedom that we have given in this country . It is without slander, and every part can be substantiated. So, please be cautious in moving forward. I would not recommend sending a child into his care. I do think though that any person can change, and I hope and pray that He will. I think that training a child in any capacity , especially to drive a machine that can have fatal consequences if not trained correctly. This requires a special kind of person, and I hope that even what Satan meant for evil in this that God will use it our good and His awesome glory. .I will update with any further updates as I also look forward to any additional perspective or comment. I know that I have made so many errors in my life , both personal and professional , but never one time did a suppression of the truth help me to overcome anything. It is amazing to me how in every negative review , he tries to justify his behavior, and always at the cost of the patron. Never Himself. Highly improbable that is so . Either way , this is my 2 cents. I hope it helps you to decide where to go, and him to change for the better.

Positive experience: Paul Pereira is one dapper gentleman. He’s a total alpha male would assert dominance at every turn, blew up bathroom on first day. The smell would make students come to a full stop then wait 3 seconds before entering. There should have been a yellow flashing light outside the door, proceed with caution. We had to abruptly put on our low beams as the vape clouds slowly overcame our vision.

This Review absolutely does not reflect our business practice here at A&M DrivingSchool. Our goal is to help all our students achieve there goal of getting there drivers license. This reviewer created a fake account to hide behind there deception. Him or her took the time to create a fake account using my name to try and discredit the great things we have done here at A&M. I'm sorry for them and I hope that some day they can be real people and explain to me why they chose to leave this ridiculous review. I work very hard every day to keep Manny Alves legacy alive. This man ran this school for over 48 years and he always told me to put myself in the shoes of the customer and always try your best to help them out. I'm sorry that who ever left this review couldn't come forward themselves and explain to me why they feel that they need to write this ridiculous review. They say that A&M is a joke, well the joke is on them because people who know us here at A&M know that we take great pride in helping all our students earn there drivers license. Seeing the smiles on the teenagers face or how happy an adult gets on finally overcoming there fear and getting there license is what makes this job so well worth it. Fantastic experience: I took all my classes with Mrs BATISTA AND WAS VERY GOOD TEACHER, he taught me driving and he really is very good, best teacher in area, pacient! Im really happy because I didn’t have idea how to drive but he was really good and patient. If you need someone to teach you Mrs BATISTA is the right person at AM driving school. Best teacher ever.

Negative experience: We pre-registered like four weeks in advance for the date. We came on the date and they over booked us. The man went off about us, how some person are like this and that mumbling off like a child( while I was there). Hello you made this mistake so instead of calling us to let us know you waited until we get there to tell me. Also you clearly made a list of who called a took phone number down so let me see your lists. Very unprofessional!!! Bad choice to come here!
I Apologize for the inconvenience but we became overbooked at the last minute. Unfortunately another school closed and some students from that school came over to us. We waited until 8 am to allow those students into the class. You arrived late to the class but we still made room for your daughter. We try to accommodate everyone has best has we can (We did offer you to come to our 3 pm class that we added for other students who arrived late) and we have been in business for over 35 years and being overbooked is a good thing we are very popular and we do our best to accommodate everyone. Even though we are over booked we still allowed your daughter into the class. We have fire code laws that we need to obey and I Apologize for the inconvenience but we still made room for your daughter. Because of this inconvenience we have offered your daughter one free road lesson. Thank you and have a great day.

Fantastic experience: The most valuable driving skill I learned from the instructor was how to parallel park. I also learned how to properly lane change and drive in snow! I owe all my driving skills to the instructor.

Fantastic experience: Has a lesson with Joe Correia today. He was very helpful and took my experience and what I wanted out of the lesson into account. I was really nervous about having the lesson but it went really well! I'd really recommend him if you need lessons!
Fantastic experience: I've been coming to this school and the staff is very professional and very friendly. They have been teaching me everything I need to know when it comes to driving. They explain things thoroughly so it's easy to take in. I would definitely recommend coming to this school.
Negative experience: Incredibly terrible driving school. He called me saying he was outside and in the back I heard him yelling at the other girl and guy in the car because he couldnt find my house. Then he was on the phone the whole time with with girl being incredibly loud. He was throwing stuff out the windows and on top of all that had me drive him to the school just so he could go in and leave me outside. The driving instructor also got into an argument with the other girl driving because she only was going to pay him half because of how terrible of a job he did. Never again will I go here and i highly dont suggest going here.
Negative experience: Does not maintain a professional attitude, some times uses lessons to preform personal errands,doesn't pay atention to where we need to turn, is often on the phone playing with it. I would not recommend this school you'd have better luck elsewhere.
Fantastic experience: Taught me everything I need to know and more without a hassle.
Negative experience: So apparently it is one guy. He will often be on his phone for most of the training session so not only are you losing your mind because you don't know what turn to make, you aren't learning how to actually drive. Just driving. At times he will have multiple people in the car, be taking business calls (some personal) and will not actually teach you anything. Absolutely horrible.
