Negative experience: Honestly just a money grab. I went there needing specifically help with parallel parking and three point turns and despite me telling him that he refused to acknowledge it. Stubborn and honestly not worth the time and money, wish i could get my 1K i spent on this rip off.

Negative experience: They only take cash and then give you no record that you have completed the he course. We've been to the RMV multiple times and they have no record of my son's driver's education. I was willing to put up with the quirks of this school (all cash, never answers the phone, classes rely on VHS tapes) but it turns out it is just a scam.

Fantastic experience: Mr. Daly provides students with excellent teaching and is always looking out for their health and safety. He’s a great driving instructor and helped me out greatly.

Fantastic experience: I was taught by Rich and he will make sure you go over everything again and again. He won’t give up on you and he’ll help you through with what you need help in. When your practicing driving with him he will go harder on you so the test will be the easiest test you pass.

Positive experience: Giving my honest review of Northshore driving and my experience. I had Rich and Rick as instructors and both were good, they talk about the day, make jokes so you're comfortable, and are good with the constructive criticism. At times you need to have lots of patience with them because both of you aren't always on the same exact page behind the wheel which is fine and as expected because you are a new driver. It isn't the most 'polished' you could say, but you will learn from Rich and the stuff that him and Rick say will stick in your head and help you learn. They are good with lesson availability as well which I know other places aren't.

He makes jokes and makes you feel as comfortable as possible for beginners. If you are looking to find a good driving school for your kid this is the one. Very professional and friendly

Positive experience: There’s rick & rich. Rich is the owner but I definitely recommend driving with rick. Rick is so patient and lets you drive the whole 2 hours. I’ve heard not nice things about rich and rick is the absolute opposite. Without rick i would have not gotten my license!

Negative experience: Rich is a horrible instructor. He would constantly keep his foot on the brake while telling me to go faster and he would constantly grab the wheel for no reason which made me extremely uncomfortable. He is extremely dramatic over nothing. Every time I'm driving he tells me about how many people fail the test or should fail the test and he also talks about crashes that honestly don't seem accurate. If I could go back a choose a different place instead of the cheapest place I wouldn't hesitate for a second.

Negative experience: My experience with this driving was one the worst, Rich the instructor was super ignorant and rude, he made me feel super nervous. Everything that i was doing was incorrect he complaind about everything. He took the steering wheel many times while we were on the road not letting me drive and made me feel uncomfortable and nervous not mentioning how many times he hit yhe break while on driving in the middle of the road . I have severe anxiety and I almost left the car and took my money back. Worst experience. You guys need to know how deal with people and be more patiece. Never doing a class with you again

Fantastic experience: Rich is a very great instructor he teaches you all the things you need to know in all the 6 driving lessons you take and the classroom isn’t boring he makes it as engaging as possible and the prices are great you can even schedule more driving lessons if you don’t feel prepared.

Negative experience: I am a thirty-something year old first time driver, never held a license in my life. I decided it was time! Since North Shore received so many great reviews on Google, I decided to book private driving lessons. My first two lessons were really wonderful. Rick was my instructor and he was calm, patient, gave constructive criticism and made me feel incredibly comfortable. Rick assured me that I had great driving skills and was mindful on the road. Unfortunately, my third (and final) lesson was with the owner, Rich, and it couldn't have been more different than my first two experiences. Rich took me on the highway and proceeded to tell me detailed HORROR stories of his students who were killed in road accidents (while I was driving ON THE HIGHWAY). Not only that, but seemingly everything I was doing was incorrect which resulted in him pulling on the steering wheel several times throughout the lesson. It was the most anxiety inducing two hour experience. While I understand the importance of defensive driving, especially for the 16+ year old's, this was not in any way confidence building and plainly, incredibly unprofessional behavior. I felt unsafe, which is why I'm posting a review (which I rarely ever do). Rick - if you read this, thank you again for your advice and lessons during my first two outings. I appreciate it!

Negative experience: This was an absolute mistake to work with this driving school. Paid for lessons that my daughter can't even schedule, the ones she did do, she didn't get credit for. We are in the process of switching her some place else. It is literally one guy running everything, think maybe you should hire some more people!

Fantastic experience: I took driver's ed and did some of my road lessons at another school which was very unprofessional and overpriced, so I decided to take the road test with North Shore Driving School because it had the best rates by far and was able to schedule my road test shortly after I called. I can honestly say that I learned more in one road lesson with Rich than I did during months of road lessons at the other school, and I couldn't have felt more prepared for the road test, which I passed!

Fantastic experience: The lessons are set up in a way that's convenient and easy to learn from. The classes were very informational and comprehensive--- they are taught in a way that the students know what they need to know for the permit test, but also so that they know how to be a responsible and safe driver. I felt very prepared for the permit test.

Fantastic experience: This is a great school to help you learn how to drive with no prior experience. I personally had Charlie as an instructor. He has a unique sense of humor but was very effective with his teaching methods. Charlie was patient, and honed in on strengthening my weaknesses with driving. Negative experience: Don’t waste your money or time on this place. Rich the owner does NOT know what he is doing. Every time I’ve called him it’s a different story. Has no communication skills with parents. And called the cops because he would not give me my daughter’s records to transfer her to another driving school.

I had little to no driving experience and was able to do 5 private lessons and learn everything I needed to know to take the test and learn invaluable skills for driving. 10/10 would reccomend, these guys were amazing.

I had three different driving instructors, and they all care about you not only to pass for the road test but to drive well and safely in the long run. I highly recommend others to come here!

Negative experience: Rude, impatient, and innappropriate. When I was on road lessons one of the instructors is so laid back, he curses, and tends to put his hand on my thigh if I’m driving too slow or if I did something wrong. I’m on my last road lesson and let me tell you, don’t waste your time here. Me and my mother struggle to get in conctact with them to schedule more road lessons and they don’t call us back. It’s all about the money

Negative experience: Instructors are Perverts! My wife took one class with Charlie - and he was the most unprofessional/improper person ever. The owner, Richie, refused to address our complaints so we are settling this in court.

Fantastic experience: I did a driving training with Charley one of the North Shore Driving School teacher and the test end today and wanted to share how great my experience was. Charley was a fantastic instructor: calm, clear, friendly, professional and I could not have passed my test without his excellent teaching. All of his instructions, teaching and tips were excellent and easy to understand and implement, and he kept me calm and positive even though I was really nervous about driving! I would definitely recommend Charley to anyone wanting to learn to drive. A huge thanks for all the work he’s put in to helping me pass the driving test.

He also touched parts of my thigh while trying to give instruction. Very unclear directions at times, although he was well aware of the rules of the road. He only critiqued my flaws and never told me when I was doing things right. It was a waste of time and money and I want a refund! I woud NOT advise anyone to go here.

Fantastic experience: Great classroom experience and road lessons! I am one of few people in my friend group who can change a flat tire thanks to NSDS. The instructors really know how to teach inexperienced drivers to be safe and confident on the road.

Fantastic experience: I have a very positive experience with The North Shore Driving School, in and outside of the classroom. The main instructor, Richard Daley, is very consistent with the way that he teaches. He always explains in great detail what mistakes you're making, how they affect others, and most important of all, how to fix them. He answers all your questions clearly, acuratly and completely. The school in general is very light on your wallet, its way cheaper than the rest of the schools in my area. The school was definitely worth my time.

Fantastic experience: Rich is the man, when i had to learn to drive later in life than most (29) he was respectful, patient and quickly got me to feel confident behind the wheel. To take a drive and have a great level of instruction spliced with various life stories put me at ease and i passed on my first try with a very minor amount of lessons. I would recommend this to anyone who needs to jump into the deep end and come out with a license and confidence.

Negative experience: unprofessional and does not adhere to the state requirements of drivers ed. Supposed to do 12 driving and 6 observes yet at north shore hes having them do 6 appointments at 2 hours each and calling it a day. My child didnt even learn to parallel park until their 10th hour. On top of all of this, during classroom the instructor repeatedly belittled other schools, claiming he was " the best" but that no matter what he did, girls weren't as good at driving. This was an unnecessary blow to my daughter's ego before she had ever even gotten behind the wheel!
