Atlanta Truck Driving School: Reviews
Fantastic experience: ATL Truck Driving school is a great school. Straight to the point. Pretrip info is just like the test and they have online access and videos for you study 24/7. 2 hr classes that work around your schedule and They have one on one training which makes it easier and are very thorough in meneuvers and driving and the instructors teach you everthing you need to know to get your liscense. And I got my liscence!
Thank you Cornelius. I'm very happy for you. Good luck and be safe out there.
Fantastic experience: This truck driving school is the best, made a great effort to ensure that I succeed on my journey of obtaining my CDL. The one on one hands on training helped me a lot and is the reason I was able to pass my test the first time. Thank you all for being such a great school. I will recommend anyone to you all.
Thank you for training with us. Good luck in your driving career.
Fantastic experience: I can say this is the best cdl school, they are with you until the end so you can pass the exam, the instructors are good really good they explain step by step how to do everything, fransheca is in the office helping you as a registrant and being able to have all the information you need, I recommend them.
Thank you Edwin
Fantastic experience: ATDS walks you through the entire process. You can move at your own pace, and the behind the wheel training you do is exactly what you do on the test. Highly recommend.
Congratulations! Good luck in your driving career.
Fantastic experience: Very good school they work with my schedule and made it possible for Me to get my cdl. My Instructor was very good and instruction where clear made learning easy as possible.
Thank you Jeremiah
Fantastic experience: Lots of parking. You can turn Around before entering if you change your mind. On left when going past blue beacon is small dirt pull off maybe a couple bob tails and one trailer could park for free. The paid parking is all concrete.
Thank you
Fantastic experience: I recently completed my CDL training at Atlanta Truck Driving School, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the entire experience. From start to finish, the school exceeded my expectations in every way. The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable and experienced, with a genuine passion for teaching. They provided clear, step-by-step guidance and were always patient, no matter how many questions I had. Their real-world insights and tips were invaluable, giving me the confidence I needed to feel fully prepared for both the written and driving exams. The training vehicles were well-maintained and representative of what you’d actually encounter on the road, which really helped me get comfortable behind the wheel. The school’s curriculum was comprehensive, covering everything from safety protocols to hands-on driving techniques. I appreciated the balance between classroom instruction and practical, on-the-road experience. One thing that stood out to me was the staff’s dedication to each student’s success. They offer flexible scheduling options, which made it easier for me to fit classes into my busy life. Plus, their job placement assistance is top-notch, with strong connections to reputable trucking companies. Overall, Atlanta Truck Driving School provides an outstanding education for anyone looking to enter the trucking industry. The supportive environment, expert instruction, and thorough training program make it the best choice for aspiring truck drivers. I highly recommend it to anyone serious about getting their CDL and starting a rewarding career on the road.
Thank you!
Fantastic experience: Great atmosphere for learning at my own pace!
Thank you Michael!
Fantastic experience: Good school , good instructors , you have to really study in order to pass.
Thank you Anthony
Fantastic experience: The staff at Atlanta Driving School were very helpful and patient to answer all my questions both in person, by text, and by email as i completed my video online course and the in-vehicle training. The app they prepared with customized photos of my vehicle so I could practice the pre-trip inspection test on my own was invaluable. They walked me through the whole process from start to finish - even scheduling my test with DDS.
Thank you Celia
Fantastic experience: I found this school to take my manual exam. I trained for 10+ hours and had good trainers. I failed the test once due to running over the curb and had to test again. As a driver who is already OTR they worked with me in getting me in and out as soon as possible. I'm glad I went thru the program to get my manual restriction off my CDL. Now I have more options and as a driver those are always good. Give them a call and see how they can help.
Thank you Micah
Fantastic experience: The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly and lessons are simple and easy to learn from.
Thank you Jeff!
Fantastic experience: Legitimate and professional. If you're like me, getting a CDL for the first time, you've seen that the new ELDT requirements have brought all kinds of shady "approved trainers" out of the woodwork. USE A LEGIT COMPANY LIKE ATLANTA TRUCK DRIVING SCHOOL. Don't risk your money and certification on a "company" with no website, no business phone, and exorbitant prices. The staff at Atlanta Truck Driving School are top-notch professionals. I had questions, they had answers. They worked with me to get the final certifications I needed to complete my CDL. I can't say enough good things about these folks; fair prices, and great customer service. Edit: Check out any negative review they have, there is always a response from the staff setting the record straight.
Thank you Josh
Positive experience: Overall good course, and the price was right compared to other schools... You will be on your own with the online portion and apps, but they are simple to use and easy to navigate. My only critique would be the way they communicate at times. I received a long text telling me not to ask the instructor about my progress after working on some of the maneuvers. If I'm not where I should be, I wanted to know, so I'm going to ask. Other than that, I would recommend them... I also have to say thanks to Francesca who works in the office. She got me all the info I requested, ASAP!
Congratulations! I am glad you got your CDL on your second attempt. I am sorry about the confusing text message. What I meant to say was that if you fell behind schedule to talk to me to figure out a way to help you. Good luck in your driving career.
Fantastic experience: I obtained my Class A CDL today, thanks to the great team at ATDS! 1 on 1 training with a highly experienced instructor, and professionalism on every level! Follow the instructions, and STUDY as required- you will reach your goal! Thanks for everything!- Ronnie
Congratulations Ronnie. Best of luck in your driving career. Drive safely!
Negative experience: It's a terrible school....and terrible people....they definitely tell it very bad about pre trip inspection and then they don't help.....I gave 3500 dollars and I had to go to another school in Florida ....do yourself a favor and don't go to this school...
Hi Said. Did you write another bad review using a fake name again? Come on man...let it go. You came to my school years ago. Once again everyone in your class graduated and got their CDL. It is not my fault that you could not keep up with the training and quit (owing me $1,000). Get a life Said and find something better to do.
Fantastic experience: They work with you and helped me get my cdl on my first try and worked with scheduling my classes before my exam so I would be more fresh and in the mode. Best school ever!
Thank you Sinch. Best of luck in your driving career.
Fantastic experience: I just finished my exam very well last week. Now I got my CDL and fulfilled my dream. I had a bad experience at another school but when I went to school This is everything different. Very effective one-on-one training program, 34 hours of solo driving, driving skills improve significantly, if you are a new driver with no previous driving experience, you can buy additional driving hours (this other schools never tell you), you don't have to wait in line for your turn to drive. Ms. Francesca is very cute and enthusiastic. If English is your problem, Ms. Francesca is willing to listen to you and try to talk slowly to explain to you clearly. Mr. Roberto is the owner of the school but he is very enthusiastic and approachable. Mr. Joan and Mr. Hoze are the two people who teach you how to drive every day. They are also very enthusiastic and experienced, but also a bit fastidious and nagging. I had a very good experience studying at this school. I also recommend my friends to study at this school because of the unique training program here. I have looked at over 10 schools in GA, but this is the only school where you study alone with one truck and one teacher.
Thank you Minh. Best of luck in your driving career.
Positive experience: The atlanta truck driving school was good for flexibility of schedule but it does require a lot of self learning and you musttt pick up things quickly. It worked well for me for the most part due to my time schedule and i was able to go two/ three times a week and pick up things very easily. One downside tho is the lack of hands on pre trip education. You are pretty much on your own to study and walk the truck yourself. So i recommend recording yourself doing a full pre trip and just listening to it everyday for memory and i also study one other person on YouTube who was a DOT officer on pre trip to get it down. The other downside for me was the space used in school for the alley docking was not the same space for the test because the space for pull up is much smaller. It was definitely devastating when i failed the test the first time because i couldn’t get it done without multiple pull ups, but in school i passed it everytime with flying colors. The last thing i wish they did was a recap of everything you learned and what exactly to expect on test day as the last final class with a run through of pre trip included. That would probably help a lot with the pass ratings. but All in all, i passed my cdl retest today and all is well. The school works well for flexiblity
Hi Riana, Congratulations on getting your CDL. I read your review. Thank you for the constructive criticism. We are always looking for ways to improve the training and I will take your recommendations into consideration. I am sorry to hear that the pretrip gave you such a hard time. To those reading this review, the pretrip is the vehicle inspection that has to be memorized for the roadtest. The best analogy I can give you is the multiplication tables. You have to repeat them until you have them memorized. At our school we provide the students with an app that shows the inspection of each component one at the time. Each component has a picture of it and its location, the written inspection (text) and audio (spoken). The app was created according to the FMCSA and GA DDS rules. We also provide vehicles (trucks) to practice the pretrip and certified instructors to answer any questions. All the students have to do is put the time and effort to repeat the pretrip inspection until it’s memorized. At the beginning of the pretrip app we have recommendations including recording yourself using your cell phone in order to make sure that you have memorized it correctly and completely. Once again, the preript has to be memorized and the only way to memorize it is through repetitions. Finally, our new driving range was made according to the official measurements required by the GA DDS. The next time I visit the Jackson DDS testing facility I will measure it to make sure we are working with the same dimensions. Once again thank for your business and for giving us the opportunity to train you. We wish you the best in your driving career.
Fantastic experience: I rcommand this School to everybody who wants to learn how drive the truck
Thank you Fouad
Fantastic experience: I’m a father of 2 and work 50 hrs a week and this school was exactly what I needed to get my CDL! The price was very affordable and scheduled in a manageable manner. Francesca and Juan, my instructor, were great in allowing me to set and adjust my class schedules while patient and excellent in class instructions. Robert, the owner, was very accommodating even through a family loss I experienced, and he is extremely professional. I passed on my first attempt in large part bc of my instructor Juan’s patience and clear teaching style. You will have to hold yourself accountable and study the material for the pre trip inspection- I drew part F the whole truck- for the pre trip but had no problems with it bc they made the tractor available to me for practice and the course material was absolutely clear and understandable. I’d recommend this school to anybody because they give you every opportunity to be successful! Robert Alvarez
Thank you Robert.
Fantastic experience: I am ecstatic I went this morning I took the test I nailed it. Thank you for the whole stuff, Francesca she's always delightful those instructors know what they doing. If you are looking for a school to get your CDL and a flexible schedule for one-on-one training Atlanta Truck Driving is where to go.
Thank you Francis.
Positive experience: I attended the ATDS in 2K12. I was pleased with the then (available) 2hr. one on one instruction. It is a very effect technique and I speak with an informed opinion as a technical college instructor. Upon completion of the training I successfully passed my CDL exam on the 1st attempt. At the end of the day as it relates to negative opinions, everyone is entitled to their opinion...but not their own facts. IMO and experience, ATDS is a good CDL training program.
Thank you very much Thomas
Positive experience: I recommend this School, the staff is very helpful, one and done! I never would have believed I was capable of passing, believe me when I tell you, I struggled in the beginning I’m very proud of myself, I had doubts, but I’m glad I didn’t give up, thanks to family, friends and especially Francesca the secretary who practically, in one hand manages every thing on a day-to-day basis at the school, she was a big motivator in keeping me going. so overall, if you are looking for a good affordable one on one trucking school, that’s flexible with your schedule. I would certainly recommend.
Thank you Caleb. Good luck and drive safely.
Fantastic experience: This is the best school you will ever attend if you looking for the best Driving School in Atlanta. The Customer Service is Great , the Instructors are very professionals, they know to teach very well. The most important thing I like about Atlanta Truck Driving School is that Instructors are very patients with Students. If you have someone who truly want to get in the Truck Industry please go here and learn.
Thank you David
Fantastic experience: I just referred someone to this school today. I’m constantly referring people to this school. I received my CDL through this school in 2012. Let me tell you this school is the BEST. Roberto gave me one on one training and when I was in the classroom preparing for the written test it was at my pace. Never pressured to hurry up. They was always available for any questions I had. Also, they give me the opportunity to come to the school anytime to practice my pre-trip on a truck if it wasn’t being used. The only way you fail is YOU didn’t put your best efforts to past cause they provided all the tools. When I went to Jackson for the drivers test the DMV lady told me I handled the truck better then the four 4 men that was there. I gave all the credit to my trainer Roberto who was standing outside waiting on me to complete the test. Oh! And they was willing to help me find a job as new driver. Thank you Roberto and Atlanta Truck Driving School. 10 years later…. I’m still driving and have my own truck with a clean driving record all because of you!
Hi Chirea, It has been a minute sine we trained you. I am happy to know that you are doing well. Thank you very much for your referrals and your review. It is very useful for new people to hear from actual students. Thank you very much and be safe.
Positive experience: Roberto and all his staff are very professional. They teach you everything you need to know to pass the test. I got my CDL Class A.
Thank you.
Negative experience: Please please please! Never try to go at this school they don’t know how to teach! Their teachers are very rude, for everything thing they asking for money they are scammers!!! They owner is unprofessional person if you ask to please explain this part again for me, he asking for $250 for an hour to explain for you Even they can’t speak English so how could they teach or explain something and soon I will stand in front of their gate with a white board which I will write please don’t come to this school they are scammers
Hello Said, I should be the one giving you a very bad review. I gave you the whole training and you did not pay me $1,050. The reason that you are upset is because you could not keep up with the training and you ran out of hours, and you must pay extra hours to complete the training. I told you in writing three times that the number of driving training hours is 24. All of that is in writing in the contract. Your excuse that you did not read it is ridiculous. Your initials and signature are in every paragraph of the contract. I also asked you to make you last payment and you ignored me. We do not work for free!!! If I am being unprofessional because I asked you in writing several times to pay you balance before I stopped your training, then so be it. Also, I did not appreciate you telling me how to do my job, especially since you do not know what you are talking about. Now as far as my instructors they are certified by the GA DDS and they have decades of experience. Just because they have an accent, that does not mean they do not speak English; just like you! By the way, those that live in glass houses should not be throwing stones.
Fantastic experience: Thank you guys all for helping me get my CDL best of luck!!
Thank you Malachi. Good luck and drive safely.
Negative experience: You Complete DDS. To Fast. And Have to Wait.(10) Weeks or More to have a Road Test, Pre-trip. Not Briefingly. Organized?
Hello Jerry you were told exactly what the time frame and delays were before you signed up. The agency that paid for your training also knows the situation. The delays have nothing to do with the way we are organized. We wish there were no delays getting appointments from the DDS but we can only work with what they have. You should write your bad review to the DDS not to us.
Positive experience: Currently attending and the study guide was perfect. Literally aced the DMV tests within minutes. Roberto and the new lady worker behind the desk(forgot her name) have been very attentive. Juan was a great instructor today, who made sure every detail he asked me to follow was in fact followed correctly while driving/parking. Had to update. This school is the bare basics and is only a necessity if you don’t have a truck. The failure rate is high at this school, but some of it should be blamed on students not studying and some on their DDS location who have certain people who are not looking to pass you for any reason. Make sure you study every exact word as written or you will fail.
Thank you for the review Daniel!
Fantastic experience: I like the aggressive responses from the owner on negative reviews. Most companies use scripted responses that do not offer any usable information. I can understand why some people think a business owner should not contradict a negative review. However, I have gleaned a great deal about this company from their rebuttals and am far more interested in learning more about them because of their responses. I have reached out and am waiting to hear back.
Hello Chris. It is not my intention to be aggressive. But when someone is spreading lies and falsehoods about my livelihood I have no other choice but to respond with the facts. Please call the school and leave a message. The number is 404-768-6565. We will get to you as soon as possible. Thank you!
Fantastic experience: These guys are great, they know what they are doing, they worked with me through all adversity, they will work with your schedule & follow through with you until the goal is met,I highly recommend this school for your commercial drivers license training & experience
Thank you Demond!
Negative experience: Stay away from this school they are shady people .Spend your money with a repeatable School not these people
Once again, another fake review. I would like to start like always with the facts. Atlanta Truck Driving School has never had a single violation in almost 20 years in business. That information is public. Anyone can check our standing with the Georgia Department of Drivers Services by getting on their website www.dds.ga.gov and search for the list of approved truck driving schools. You will see our name at the top of the list. The reason we are on the list is because we are reputable. Should I call you Ms. or Mr. Drastic. I guess it does not matter because you are fake. First you need to learn to learn to spell. Second, would you care to elaborate on your experience at our school and in what ways are we “shady” people.
Negative experience: Went to this school last April teachers told me I would never get my CDL and the job wasn’t for me fast forward a year later I have my CDL and have been driving for 6 months … all the negative reviews you see on here are true, avoid this school at all cost if you want your CDL
Once again another "person" hiding behind a fake name with a fake review. Please stop wasting the readers time. Why would we discourage a student from getting their CDL if that is how we make our living? What would be the benefit for us to do that? It does not make sense because it is fake. Without knowing your real name I can not check your file and comment on your specific situation. But what I can tell you is that 100% of the students that complete our training get their CDL and move on to successful driving carriers. I whish you the best whomever you really are and be safe on the road.
Fantastic experience: I have a class B cdl and would like to upgrade to a class A. what is the cost and what do I have to do?
Hello Nemaan. Please call the school to get the information that you are looking for. The number is 404-768-6565. Please leave a message if we do not answer. We will get back with you shortly. Thank you!
Fantastic experience: Strongly recommend! Very professional! Instructors teach thoroughly and always willing to help. They were always flexible with my schedule. I passed on my first try thanks to these guys!
Thank you Marc!
Fantastic experience: Great school, honest people, and great with working out with your personal schedule. Both teachers knew exactly what material was needed to pass. Thanks to them I was able to get my Class A license on my first try. I highly recommend this school for anyone who's looking for an affordable/great experience.
Thank you Luis!
Negative experience: I enrolled in this school a couple months ago because on it’s flexibility and one- on- one training. I was in the process of doing my behind the wheel training, got sick where I have to stop training, after recovery I called the school, “ WHICH NO ONE NEVER PICKED UP”!!! left a voice message stating that I would like to resume training the owner replied in a text stating I have to wait for ten weeks knowing that my permit will expired in 3 months on top of that at telling me I have to pay an extra $500 by April 15 which is ridiculous!!! FYI THIS OWNER IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!!I I would not recommend this school to anyone.
OMG a real student finally! Hi Orrath. Let’s start by setting the record straight, you registered on 4/21/2021, that is almost a year ago not a couple of months ago. You obtained the learner’s permit on 5/14/2021, but did not let us know you had it until 11/11/2021. That is six months later. The waiting period to start the driving training at that time (Nov 2021) was 8 weeks. On 1/11/2022 you started the driving training. On 1/23/2022 you did not show up for training and I told you that you needed to notify the school 48 hours in advance in order not to waste your training time time as stated in the contract (service agreement). I told you I would not penalize you this time. On 1/26/2022 you called the school to let us know that you were not going to make it to school again because you were exposed to COVID. I once again did not penalize you. The following week on 2/4/2022 you called again saying that you were not coming to class because your truck didn’t start. Your class was at 11 am you could have taken an Uber. This time I told you that your class time was wasted. The following week 2/8/2022 you called again saying that you could not come to school again because you were having surgery. I asked you to bring a doctors note to be able to excuse your absence, but you did not. On 3/30/2022 almost two months later you called and I asked you to make your next payment and that you would have to wait several weeks to get back on the schedule. That is when you had a fit and complained about why you had to wait. You probably thought that a flexible schedule meant that you would be able to show up and cancel whenever you liked. That is wrong, we have rules clearly stated in our contract. You chose not to follow them. We moved on! We are not going to save your spot. We have students waiting their turn to start the training. I understand that your learner’s permit is about to expire, but I did not cause the delays, you did. As far as the additional money, our prices increased last year. You should have completed your training many, many months ago if you had just showed up to class as you were supposed to. I gave you a chance to continue to make payments at the old rate, but I am not going to hold the old price for you forever.
Negative experience: DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH THIS PLACE. I have no idea why this is considered a school. It’s literally a guy with a few trucks and his brother helping. The structure of the class is not going to help you get your Cdl at all. You pay per hour for classes and they have too many ppl to even get you on the schedule. This place should be shut down it is a complete scam. They don’t tell you up front that they don’t have enough staff. You will pay your money and then there is no room to test or even have a class for months. They only have a 1 or 2 days a week to train you for 2 hours a day. There is no way to learn like that for the DOT exam. Thousands of dollars down the drain and still after a year I have not been able to take my text with these ppl.
One again, I hate to sound like a broken record, but “Charles Paschal” has never been a student at my school. It is very easy for people to hide behind a fake name and write false reviews that just waste the reader’s time. I would like to start my response by letting everyone know that we are going to celebrate our business 20th anniversary next year. We have been at the same location under the same management and ownership the whole time. We have always been a GA DDS certified CDL training facility and we are very proud of our perfect record. We have not had any single violation in 20 years. The reason that “Charles” had to pay for extra hours was because he completed his regular hours of training and obviously he did not complete the training and for that reason had to pay for extra hours. We are the only school in GA that offers one-on-one driving training, so there is no excuse why “Charles” fell behind schedule. We are also the only school in GA that offers flexible schedule so that our students DO NOT have to quit their jobs to obtain their CDL. And we are also the only school in GA that offers a written guarantee of 24 hours of training behind the wheel for CDL A (automatic) and 34 hours of CDL A (manual). Once again, just because “Charles” could not keep up with the pace of the training does not mean that the rest of the population will not either. There are very long delays obtaining appointments for the roadtest since the pandemic started and that is why we were forced to spread out the training to 2 or 3 classes per week. There is no point in rushing to do the training days back to back and then have a big gap before the test. It won’t work. The problem that “Charles” seems to have is retaining information and once again doing the training back to back is not going to solve his problem, he is just going to fall behind faster. Finally, in order to take you to the roadtest “Charles” you have to complete all the skills covered in the training. Just because you could not complete the training and ran out of hours does not mean we are taking you to the roadtest anyway. That would be super irresponsible, dangerous and unprofessional on our part. Good luck “Charles” whomever you are!
Negative experience: Wow I Was definitely looking for a decent CDL school but whoever this is responding to these reviews is a verified clown! Like wow!!
I sustain my responses. Thank you Chris
Negative experience: I have called this location for all most a month no answer and I have left 3 messages with no one to call back
We are sorry we could not get back to you in a timely manner. Several of our employees got sick with COVID. We were in survival mode for the last month. Everyone recovered and we are back to normal now. Once again we are sorry for the inconvenience.
Fantastic experience: Good morning do anyone ever answer the phone. I'm trying to get enrolling information thanks
Good morning Cheryl. I am sorry we did not answer your call. We are overwhelmed with phone calls. Please leave a message. We will get back with you. Thank you!
Negative experience: This is a school that does not honor the promise. This school stole $1,600. They were not trained in anything. When I spoke to the principal, he told me to go to court, and everything told me I wanted more money. This is a school for stealing You have nothing but lies, you from day one, you and the coach are talking about more money and proof that you are someone who lied, why did you send me a message that you want to delete the comment
It is not my fault that you could not keep up with the pace of the training from day one. I have all the documentation to show the number of hours that you took and the fees that you paid. That is why you had to pay the $1600 and the rest went back to you according to our refund clause. We do no not work for free.
Fantastic experience: WOW I just got done reading all those negative reviews and yall probably shouldn't be drivers anyways tbh, I graduated here back 2017. They catered around MY schedule, they made sure my gear shifting was smooth, and I tell you what I consider myself a top tier driver because of where I got my foundation from and that's with them. So I will be taking my brother there this year. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL. These guys helped me open so many doors that I never knew would be possible! Thank you guys! This review is overdue but better late than never.
Thank you Gerson!
Negative experience: I went to the school earlier this year and I will say this.. Don’t expect to get your CDL within 3-4 months and that’s if you are perfect.. they will only schedule you two days a week.. which if you don’t meet their expectations on a section you will have to continue on that part until THEY feel you can move forward.. Which is taking up some of your tuition money.. so at the end you will have to pay extra. And if you don’t pass the test first time which MOST DONOT you will not retest until about 6 weeks later at the earliest.. and you can forget so much in waiting 6 weeks.. the teachers are very nice I will say that but the school was a bit disappointing when it came to my time of trying to finish and hopefully get to working soon.. plus the alley dock practice at the school is NO WAY the same as it is at the DMV… a guy before told me and I really had to watch videos outside the school before I tested thank God I did.. good luck
I do not have any record of a Travis Adams attending my school in the last year. If you gave me your real name, I would be able to give you more accurate information. In any case, I am glad to hear that we did provide you with what we promised: 100% one-on-one driving training, flexible schedule and 34 hours behind the wheel. To everyone reading this review I would like to remind you that we are in a pandemic and that the DDS was closed for several months causing very long delays getting appointments for the road test. We went from 4 weeks before the pandemic to over 8 weeks since the pandemic started. That caused us to reconfigure the pace of the training. Before the pandemic the CDL A manual training was done in 17 days straight (3 weeks and 2 days). But due to the delays getting appointments for the road test, we were forced to spread out the training to 2 to 3 days of training per week in order to finish the training closer to the road test appointment when things are still fresh in the student's mind. Having a 5 to 6 week gap between the end of the training and the road test appointment was a disaster for the students. I am sorry the pandemic delayed your plans Travis, but we did not cause it. We are just doing our best trying to work through it! Our rule as far as executing driving skills is very simple. The students have to execute the skills on their own (without help from the instructor), correctly and consistently in order to move on to the next one. It does not depend on the instructor's opinion or the student's. The student is either doing it right or not. Is that simple! We are the only school in all of Georgia that offers 100% one-on-one driving training and our CDL A manual driving training consists of 34 actual hours behind the wheel. The other schools offer on the average only 8 hours behind the wheel. So, yes if you are not able to execute a skill in the time allocated to it on the syllabus you will need to pay for extra hours. I wish you had told everyone why you failed the road test. I guarantee you without even knowing your real name that you failed the pretrip. Once again, due to the delays getting road test appointments from the DDS you have to wait 6 to 8 weeks to retest. If you were in such a hurry to get your CDL and go to work you should have put the time and effort to memorize the pretrip so that you did not have to wait to retest. We are a GA DDS certified truck driving school. Our yard meets all the GA DDS requirements and the dimensions used for the backing maneuvers including the alley dock are exactly the same as the ones used at any DDS testing location in all of GA. To learn the alley dock you have to be behind the wheel. There is no video that can help you, specially for such a difficult skill. So you are welcome Travis for the excellent work we did training you in order to get your CDL.
Negative experience: Well I was looking for CDL classes for my boyfriend but these reviews are too. Owner sounds like a narcissist. I’ll pass!!
It took me a while to respond to this review, because I honestly did not know how to respond. I do not think that Paris even knows what the word narcissists means. Could you please give me an example of my narcissistic behavior? Thank you for passing!
Fantastic experience: Just received my CDL A hard work paid off thank Mr Roberto it was my pleasure doing business with you I had no experience
Thank you Richard!
Negative experience: Unprofessional your comments as a business owner to people opinions are out of this world, it should be unheard of. I dont like the energy you give off as the owner from your comments And im sure others don't neither. Wish the best for your business channel your energy on the positive not negative
Hi Mykia. It is very hard to stay positive with people that lie and spread misinformation about my training just because they could not perform. Please notice that the pattern of my responses is always with facts, not opinions. I will keep it positive as long as we keep it honest. Thank you for wishing us the best!
Fantastic experience: I did my homework on researching schools. I picked this school because they work around your schedule. I was nervous because of some reviews but I absolutely made the right choice. I was lucky enough to have class with three different instructors who all found different ways to help me grasp where I was struggling. All three were kind, smart and eager to help. I saw in the reviews that some people found some of them hard to understand, I only speak English and had zero problems understanding. I was given hand outs to study for my pre trip with that I memorized. I found it was not difficult to schedule extra time to come in to look at the truck to study for pre trip in person. On the day of the test the truck was set up for me to succeed, I followed the sheets I was given for the pre trip and the steps I was taught in parking. My road test went well because I had been taught what the preceptor was looking for in advance. I pass on my first try with zero previous experience. This was a good school.
Thank you Melissa. Best of luck for you and Tim
Negative experience: One thing's good about that school is the flexible schedule that's the only reason I wasted my time and money. Your instructors made me do things many many times pretending that was not good enough. I am not stupid, I understood as you thought I was not, look at your board as you never paid attention to it before you do your defense. God knows buddy.
We tried our best to help you. The reason that you wasted your time and money was because you learn very slowly. You spent 48 hours of ONE-ON-ONE driving training at the wheel and could not complete even half of the skills covered in the training. That should have taken less than 18 hours to complete! From the beginning we told you many times verbally and in writing that you were very far behind schedule and that we could only make progress at your pace.
Negative experience: The office staff is nice and the school is SLIGHTLY cheaper than the other schools that I was considering.. One on one behind the wheel time, can't really call it training.. You get what you pay for.. There is no Instructor for the "classroom" portion; you are given test material to study, a few short videos (from the 90's I believe) to watch and left to your own devices.. THEY DO NOT TEACH YOU, THEY PROVIDE YOU WITH THE MATERIAL THAT YOU NEED TO PASS THE TEST AT THE DMV.. This includes the behind the wheel time.. If you have never driven a tractor trailer before, this isn't the school for you.. If you have a little experience behind the wheel of a tractor trailer, this school may be perfect for you I need to be taught maneuvers, not just guided through them & that is something that the staff at this school fails to understand.. I definitely regret not paying the extra $1k to attend a school that better suits my needs and I regret ignoring the negative reviews that I read before I signed up for this school.. The syllabus is set up to allot 2hrs to practice maneuvers that other schools allot 3-5 full days (27hrs-45hrs) to practice and learn; so on top of only understanding half of what the instructor is saying through his accent, I feel extremely rushed to learn stuff that I've never done before.. Damn near impossible to learn like that for me, period.. The 100% pass rate that they advertise for the driving exam is AFTER students have failed the driving exam several times.. Again, GREAT SCHOOL FOR PEOPLE WITH PRIOR EXPERIENCE DRIVING TRACTOR TRAILERS.. I wish everyone the best!! **In response to Atlanta Truck Driving School's response.. Your response had NOTHING to do with my situation, AT ALL.. Obvious that you believe that I am a different student.. I wasn't falling behind and you only offer 24hrs of 1 on 1 training, not 34hrs..
Hello Mrs. TMom, Thank you for your compliment on the professionalism of our staff and the unbeatable prices and quality of our training. I would like to start by saying that the instructors tried their best to help you. As stated in the contract; they gave you exactly what you paid for: 100% one-on-one driving training, 34 hours of actual training behind the wheel and flexible schedule so that you did not have to quit your job. In spite of the instructor’s accent, they are certified trainers with decades of experience teaching new CDL drivers. They explained and repeated over and over to exhaustion the technique for the skills they were trying to teach you and you just could not get it and execute it on your own. They could only work at your pace. That is why you fell behind schedule from the very beginning. The instructors made you aware almost on a daily basis that you kept falling farther and farther behind schedule due to the reasons previously explained. I (manager) notified you several times in writing as well. You always responded the same, that it was not a problem that you would pay extra hours as needed to catch up. All of a sudden when your 34 hours of training were finished you acted like you were surprised and could not understand what happened. My guess is that you underestimated how difficult truck driving really is. Just because you could not do it, does not mean the other people cannot do it either. All the other students that started at the same time as you did were also beginners just like you and all of them have completed the training, gotten their CDL and started successful truck driving careers. Knowing how to drive a truck prior to enrollment has never been one of our requirements. As fa as the classroom training. Remember that we are in the middle of a deadly pandemic and lectures are not allowed. In any case, our classroom training has always been computer based and self-paced. There is always an instructor available to answer your questions. All you had to do was ask. As far as the videos used for the training, they might look outdated, but they are the best training videos in the industry made by the best company in the training business JJ Keller. I guess that in spite your complaints the training materials and videos we provided you with were not that bad since you pass all 3 written test the first time. Finally, I would like to see the training contract of the school you mentioned that offers so many more hours of training than we do. For the last 18 years, I have dared all of our competitors in the South East region to match what we offer and not one has come even close. There is no other private truck driving school in the South East that offers 34 hours of actual behind the wheel (CDL A manual only), 100% one-on-one driving training and flexible schedule so that the students do not have to quit their jobs. I wish you the best at the other school and I am sorry we could not work with you any further.

Negative experience: Hi, i believe you should've gave me enough time during my driving evaluation, after two minutes you stopped the evaluation and charged me $250, i went to another CDL school and they did gave me enough time and a good chance to evaluate my drivivg and they didn't charge me for it, and now i got my CDL license from school that cares about it students success not only their money. I hope this would help you understand my rating, thanks.
Hi Ibrahim. First of all you were NEVER my student. You came to me asking to RENT my truck in order to take the road test. I clearly told you several times over the phone and in person that the evaluation fee was non refundable and that you had to know how to shift gears using double clutch without any problems in order to use my truck for the test (problems such as grinding of the gears, forgetting which gear you are in, forgetting the selector, problems upshifting and problems down shifting). You claimed to be an experienced driver and you could not shift gears using double clutch at all! That is why I stopped the evaluation so quickly. I was not going to let you ruin my transmission. I gave you exactly what you paid for. Next time be HONEST, you knew you could not shift gears using double clutch. You should complain to the people that trained you; they suck! As far as the money, don't forget I gave you a refund for the class I chose not to give you after the evaluation. Once again be HONEST!
Fantastic experience: BEST TRUCK SCHOOL... The team is so good (from the Director, the office, the trainers). The Boss, ALWAYS helpful. He is a honest person. He wants 100% CDL winnerS!! School very clean like new. Manual AND automatic transmission!!! They get a great educational program to learn faster. (I don't want to write here this system, because other schools will copy!!) I drive 2hrs30 to go because I want the BEST, I can't WASTE MY TIME. I need my CDL in January to go back work. It is for my survival. With the COVID19, I worked 5 months!! It is my BEST 2020 DECISION to GO HERE.
Thank you Steve
Fantastic experience: I have my cdl class a permit and I want to learn how to drive an automatic? How much is the total cost of training for class a? Thanks

Fantastic experience: Roberto and all his staff are very professional. They teach you everything you need to know to pass the test. I got my CDL Class B on my first try. I must add that you are required to do a lot of studying on your own and you won’t pass unless you do that.
Thank you Judith

Fantastic experience: Highly recommended. Great staff with good rates. Mr. Roberto was very accommodating to my needs. I got my Class B with P endorsement. Once again, thank you and keep up the good work.
Negative experience: I assume they are closed down. I’ve called twice and left voicemail msgs and have yet to receive a call back. If they are open, they have very poor communication for current or potential students.
We are sorry we did not get back to you quickly. We are open as usual. But sometimes we are overwhelmed with phone calls. Please leave a clear voice message and we will get back to you promptly.
Fantastic experience: I can only speak in a very positive way about this driving school. Since the beginning I had the opportunity to deal directly with the owner of the school, very honest and sincere, straight to the point. I was new to the trucking industry, never drove a commercial vehicle before and the thing that I found so helpful has been the one on one time with the instructors, which are very capable, patient and experienced. I had no problem in passing the exam for my CDL, the instructors prepared me extremely well. I would recommend the school to anybody, my personal experience has been super positive ++++
Thank you!
Fantastic experience: Nice school...like it

Thanks to everybody at Atlanta Truck Driving School, I would not done it without ya'll. David
Thank you David. Good luck in your driving career!
Fantastic experience: Fierro pariente
Fantastic experience: I can say I have mi CDL because of this school thanks guys... Roberto keep up the good work
Positive experience: I’m looking into getting my CDLs and looking a these reviews... A company/business that wants to bash a person back or talk down on a student is bad business management. I don’t like the way you respond to people that have their own opinion. People going to talk about you regardless of the fact. That don’t mean you have to be unprofessional and talk to them like you don’t have any sense too. I think I’m going with the tech school like shorty said on the reviews.
Good luck at tech school Joshua
Fantastic experience: Great team! Have a lot skills to teach every single student.
Obrigado!
Fantastic experience: Sensational training, great instructions and information, very knowledgeable and Know exactly what to study for!!!!!! Fantastic experience: I'm a student as of today and it's actually a cool school as far as flexibility. I feel the classroom setting could be a little more student/Teacher based but overall I would recommend.
Thank you!
Fantastic experience: Great instructors, mine most of the time was arturo but all are great. I passed on my first time. But all glory be to God :)
Fantastic experience: I recently completed my training with Atlanta Truck Driving and was successful in acquiring my Commercial Drivers License Class A. My experience was well worth time and effort, due to the staff and the knowledge they obtain about Pre-Trip Inspection of vehicle and maneuvering the vehicles is well detailed and clear. For a short program you get your money worth and beyond. I recommend them to the world as a number 1 leading training organization for anyone that is trying to acquire training in the trucking field.
Fantastic experience: Passed Class A CDL first time at DMV. This school is the best "bang for your buck" . 34 hours of behind the wheel one on one instruction. 100% Worth the money.
Thank you William. Good luck!
