Fantastic experience: The entire process was so easy! They are upfront and honest about everything! We were fortunate to be able to pay in full, but they offer payment plans!! My daughter really enjoyed each and every class lesson and all of her drive times. The instructors are calm, cool, and collected. They teach these kids more than just the basics. We ended up having to go to the local DMV to get her permit, but now they are able to handle literally everything right there at the school even the driving test for their actual license(which we did today, and she passed!! Obviouslythanks to everyone at Metro)! So convenient!! Everyone on staff is absolutely amazing! You can tell the strive to make each kid feel comfortable by getting to know them as individuals. Our experience was so wonderful, we have recommended Metro to as many people as we can. I'm almost sad it'll be 3 years before I can sign up my next kid!! You better believe I will taking her there as soon as I can!

Negative experience: The women in this office do NOT know how to communicate. I ask very clear questions and they answer something else. Then when I ask for more information they get LOUDER and not more clear. They do nit provide All of the information that you need in order to succeed in getting permit appointments and then your license. I told them my concerns about trying to get an appointment and they talked to me like i was stupid. A month later and my concerns i raised are coming true and we cant get help. Ive wasted money i didnt have on this program. I do not recommend this company. Don't waste your money **EDIT RESPONSE** I think the reason they don't listen is BECAUSE they say the same things hundreds of times. They are responding to the questions they are use to hearing, and not listening to what is actually being asked. If they are "too busy" to listen to someone during the 15 mins before or after class, then don't schedule a consult during that time. As for being "less than friendly" I'm autistic I wasn't unfriendly I was direct - AND I'm not there to be friends, I'm there for a business transaction - I was never unfriendly but I was stern and very concerned about the specific issues I had questions about. Had they LISTENED to what was being said - they would have known my daughter was a special case and we would have had a chance to communicate about that and potentially resolve any issues right from the start. Instead they don't listen, they just talk AT you, talk to you like you're stupid for asking questions and now the OWNER is not apologizing or taking any responsibility. Hello, my name is Justin Lemman, the current owner of Metro Driving School. I am sorry that you do not feel that your questions and concerns have been answered to your satisfaction. I also know how frustrating it can be to schedule appointments with the DPS that aren’t scheduled 6 months out. We do know of a way to get same-day appointments, and I imagine my front desk personnel have explained the process hundreds of times in the last year alone. Just this week, we completed a video explaining the steps that you can obtain using a qr code posted in the office, or by following this link :https://drive.google.com/file/d/1LQEvEZmGscfWC7egUGMZLzkScaE2LyB0/view?usp=drive_link In your specific situation, however, the daughter, currently enrolled in our program, is a bit of an outlier to the majority of the individuals who participate in our teen program and the video does not cover her specific situation. This is, however, some of the information that my front desk ladies attempted to explain. Since she already has a TX ID, on the website (you will see on the video in the link above), instead of choosing “Apply for first-time Texas DL/Permit”, you will select the option “Service Not Listed” to proceed with making the appropriate appointment. I hope this helps with scheduling your necessary appointment to get your permit from the DPS. I would also like to point out that I closely monitor the inbox of [email protected], and my front desk team vigorously reply to 50+ emails a day with detailed and precise answers and correspondence to students and parents alike. I mention this because as you have probably experienced, the 15 minutes before and after every class is a hectic time in the front office and although the ladies up front do a wonderful job managing the chaos and answering all of the questions, from time to time, as they are only human, being addressed in a less than friendly manner can result in conflict. I do not want you to feel that you have wasted your money on our program so since your daughter is not even halfway through, I would be happy to refund the amount you have paid so far and wish you the best of luck in obtaining your driver’s license. Response to edit As the OWNER, I take our reputation as a family-owned and operated business seriously and reviewed hours of video footage from the security camera in the front reception area. The cameras are primarily for monitoring the building when we are not open and are set to record when motion is detected. When we are busy during the day, I don’t get a constant stream of what goes on at the front desk, but I do get many, many clips throughout the day of 15 to 90-second snippets (with sound). Based on your concerns and accusations I listened to hours of interactions between my staff and clients and quite frankly did not run across one instance of my front desk team talking down to or AT anyone. Granted I don’t have absolutely every interaction recorded and don’t claim that my staff are perfect and unflawed, but you’d think that if they were doing as poor a job as your review claims, I’d run into at least a couple of interactions that I could use to ask them to do a better job, but I did not. I did, however, based on the time on the credit card receipts, find interactions with both mother and daughter and my staff where questions were answered appropriately, nobody was talking down to anyone else, and in the very first transaction a piece of paper given to you with the information in my original response written on it in handwriting, not typed, that covered the special case about the daughter that is the root of this issue. Again, I’m sorry you are not happy with the service we provided you and as I said in my original reply, we will provide you with a full refund. I also replied to your email and explained refunds are required to be in person and will require the return of our certificate.
Fantastic experience: I have taken two classes from the instructor Jimmy and I had a very great experience! Thanks to his teaching, I was able to clear my driving road test in the first go itself. He was very patient with me , made me understand my mistakes while driving and made me practise again and again to improve it! I would highly recommend Metro Driving School especially instructor Jimmy , for anyone who wants to learn driving ! Note : The Lady examiner who took my driving road test , was also very sweet . Initially I was a bit nervous but she made me calm down and comfortable. The instructions was very clear on what she was expecting from the Road Test! Thank you !

Negative experience: Terrible service. Emailing back and forth to get an appointment since a week. Even after responding to emails fast slots will be given to others. Dont waste time here if you don’t get an appointment in a day.
Hello Reddy. We apologize but we do not have enough staff to respond so quickly. It is not that we have terrible service. It is that we have too many requests to answer them all quickly. Please understand that we are working extremely hard to answer everyone. It is the beginning of summer and since teenagers are out of school soon, they are all contacting us at.the same time. I know you can understand that makes it difficult to answer everyone in a timely manner. We are doing the best we can.
Fantastic experience: Definitely it is the Best driving school in hurst-euless-bedford , everyone is nice and so respectful , they always have flexible appointments And my driving instructor Jimmy taught me everything about driving in Texas especially it was all new to me as I just moved from Egypt , he was always patient and guiding me even on how and what I should be training after our lessons , I was able to drive on the highway in less than 10 hrs lessons , after his most important advice to me , trust yourself and trust your vehicle Thanks alot Jimmy and I'll always remember your advices

Fantastic experience: I wish I had my son start with Metro! We went through the DPS for his driving test and he was frustrated with the whole experience because the instructor was extremely rude and impatient. Someone recommended Metro and I could not be happier with their services! From the very first phone call to the end of his driving exam, they were nothing short of professional and helpful. I will most definitely go this route for my next teen!

Negative experience: I had heard from my neighbors that this was an excellent school where my children could learn driving. However, it ended up being a terrible experience for my eldest child. The classroom lessons itself were decent. My child learned what they needed to take the written test. The actual driving practice lessons were where this school failed to properly teach my child in an environment where they felt comfortable. I was appalled to learn that the very first lesson didn’t involve making sure my child knew how to use the pedals and steering. Instead, the teacher just pushed my child into the road as if she knew how to drive already. I assumed that this school was for teaching students how to drive but what kind of driving school doesn’t even teach ensure the basics are drilled before they are put on the road. Not only that, but from what I’ve seen and heard, all the “teachers” were men far older than her with a lack of tolerance for mistakes. This traumatized my child so much that it took her longer to get her license. I thought letting someone with more time and experience as a teacher would be better for my child, but I would rather take child being willing to learn than be scared to even touch the wheel because their teacher couldn’t even show them the basics before putting her on the road. I’ve learned my lesson and WILL NOT have not been recommending this place to anyone. If you want are looking for a school to build on your child’s driving skills, then this is the place for you. If you or your child is a beginner, then this place is not it. Better to find a different place worth your time and money.
We apologize that your daughters did not have a great experience at Metro. If you did not bring their circumstances to our attention, then we were not able to rectify and help the situation. Communication is key. We needed to know about your eldest daughter's trepidation before her first drive time. I do not recognize your name to connect it with your daughters' names so that I may pull their folders and review the instructors comments. Our instructors are experienced, educated and former school teachers. We do believe they have patience and kindness. We do start with the basics of the car and it is very well explained in the classroom portion as well. We have many years of experience working with students who are dyslexic, autistic, have anxiety and who have emotional problems. Some students are not ready for learning to drive at age 15 and need to wait and mature. You know your daughters better than we do. We wish we had known so we could do a better job.

Fantastic experience: I took driving test with Mrs. Sandra. She explained well about the test before we started. I messed up a little bit because I was nervous. I thought I was going fail but I passed! The receptionist was nice too. And the test fees is cheaper than other schools. They gonna ask over 100$ for 3 attempts or 80$ for just one attempt. Its 70$ for 3 attempts here!

Negative experience: These people are so hard to reach, they never answer the phone, return voicemails, and are slow to answer emails. This has been a terrible experience for my daughter and myself.
Hello Robyn. I am very surprised you would write such a review as we have communicated with you 4 times in 2 hours today. We have about 100 emails and voicemails a day and we are working as fast as possible but we struggle to keep up. Since you disputed that your daughter had not missed one class yet we showed you she did, we have been trying to resolve her making it up. When your daughter emailed this morning it was an empty email and she did not tell us she wanted to make up class today. It is indeed a simple process and we just add her email to the list to receive the makeup class. My guess is that you are expecting immediate responses and not waiting a short time to get an answer. I have not called you back because I return phone calls in the order we receive them. We try to be as fair as possible and as thorough as possible. We will be happy to help you as fast as we possibly can during the absolute heaviest season of the year.
Fantastic experience: All other reviews are true, these people are amazing! I took a couple of driving lessons with Mr. Jimmy and they were truly helpful. He will teach you everything you need to feel confident behind the wheel, correct your mistakes and also share the tips and tricks that come with experience. He made me feel at ease, was patient and supportive. Same goes for Mrs .Sandra, who supervised my road test - she is a very nice and professional lady. Fantastic experience: I have been very impressed with all the interactions I have had with this group. I set a very high bar for customer service and though I should, I don’t write many reviews. Sandra and her team are so patient and always very professional. When you take your kid through this process it can be confusing and we ask a lot of questions, sometimes more than once! With all our points of contact with this group I have been impressed every time. Do realize that they run the office AND instruct on the road so if you call you will always get an answering machine, but they will always call you back. They have your kids best interest in mind and I recommend them highly. To impress me at this level AND while managing in a pandemic is what motivated me to write this review. Kudos to Metro Driving School!

Negative experience: I’d used them before to teach my adult daughter to drive. They had done a really good job when teaching her. I went to them to teach my son. They told him to come into the office and bring his birth certificate, social security, and driving permit. He did that and was told they would contact him in 3-4 weeks. After 5 weeks I started calling and leaving messages. Someone called me back one evening and said he was on the schedule for the next week. That was 2 weeks ago. She said messages were left on our phones by someone. Yet, neither one of us have any messages. Very disappointed with the low level of customer service this time around.
Ms. Johnston, I am so very sorry you are upset. We indeed have spoken with the instructor and our secretary has checked on the status for you. Your son is the very next one to be called. Since your son is limited to Mondays, the instructor has not had availability until now. Would you like him to still call you? We have no way of knowing how many times a person will need to get completed. That is why we don't know exactly how long it will be before our instructor can add another adult student. Again, we apologize for the delay.
Fantastic experience: This is an amazing driving school! My instructor, Jimmy, is so professional! On first day, he gave me strategies, and consistent feedback, and was VERY patient--that's a really important quality of an instructor as you will be making a lot of mistakes as a beginner and need someone to guide you patiently. Everything that you need to know about safe driving in free way, he will teach it to you. Also, when I left a voice call, they always responded on time. Overall, this is one of the best driving schools in Texas.

Fantastic experience: After a lot of set backs for months I decided to come here instead of the DMV after being reccomended it and im angry I Didnt just come here sooner and save myself a lot of pain. The owner was extremely nice and made driving a lot less stressfull. I would definitely reccomend this place to anyone who feels unsure about coming here

Fantastic experience: I can't say enough positives about this school because this would become a novel. I do not normally give 5 stars so let me highlight the main points and share some of my personal experiences with Metro Driving. First, as a mom, I am focused on professionalism, skills, availability, and safety as primary points that I am looking for in a driver's ed program. My teen is very shy but Sandra looked out for him and matched him well with his instructor. Jimmy, the instructor, was not only patient and encouraging but gave tips that I am even now using as an experienced driver. I was impressed by the knowledge that they give the kids to prepare them for increasing their skills and preparation for testing. My son always wanted to share with me what he learned. With accessibility, although you will leave a message when calling because everyone there is working to be accessible for the kids on property, Sandra is quick to return calls. Safety and preparation are so important to them that you can rest assured your teen will be prepared for what they ask him or her to do. Their goal is increasing confidence through skill preparation. Also, they work hard to protect your child from COVID by guidelines and requirements before and during driving. In addition to all this, they went above and beyond for my teen. During COVID (March shutdowns) they allowed him extra times to come and drive once shutdown was lifted in order to keep his skills fresh. Not to mention, when my car was out of operation, they worked with us to schedule driving for my teen so we could complete his 30 required hours of driving paperwork that gets taken to DPS upon testing. Sandra assisted in working with me financially too. I could see that they really care there. It was like gaining a family. My next kiddo will be attending there even if I have to drive from another city....that's how great they are. Matter of fact, my son passed his test (YAY!!!) But I find myself missing seeing Jimmy and Sandra. Well, at least it is only 2 more years and I will see them again. Smile. Just remember if you do your part (keeping up with required paperwork, tasks, and appointments), they are ready to assist you and your teen immediately with answering questions and making provisions of accommodations if needed. I wish I had a place like this when I was a teen and was learningvto drive! Oh and my son has also come out of his shell more since this experience -that's an added bonus :)

Negative experience: They are terrible. They offer zero instruction to students driving absolutely asinine on high traffic roads during rush hour. Your instructors are supposed to instruct. Not sit on Twitter or whatever else they were doing enjoying the 15mph near crashes into every parked car.
Hello Ron. I sincerely want to know what instructor that is because they are in some serious trouble with us! Can you please let me know that? I absolutely will not tolerate that. If it is happening, then no one has told me. The instructors know what they are supposed to be doing and helping kids learn. I also want to make sure you have the correct driving school as we have many wonderful instructors. If your student had an instructor like this it is appalling and measures will be taken. But I must know who the instructor is, please. We absolutely do not run our business this way.

Fantastic experience: I had a B restriction on my license which I needed removed. Sandra had an opening and got me an appt for the next day, being very swift with her responses in contacting me back. Upon arriving for my appt, she was extremely nice, welcoming and very personable with a smile. Filled out some paperwork and had my driving test and was on my way to go about my day 30 mins after showing up. Thanks, Sandra! You rock!

Positive experience: Not one of my favorite driving schools.. The driving instructor can be very rude at times, and the instructors can be heard arguing with each other almost always. They show us outdated videos from year 2000 and below, with no actual teaching other than lectures read straight from a book. At times the instructors can be funny and there's lots that they've taught us, but the outdated videos and the "rudeness" sometimes saps the educational value of the program
We are required by the State of Texas and the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation to present specific subject matter. Our curriculum is approved and follows the State's guidelines to achieve that goal. Most of our DVD's are required ones. We do not read lectures from a book. The handbook is used for 4 worksheets in the 16-day program. The instructors have discussions with each other and we are not sure how it is misconstrued as arguing. Hello Jacob. On your first drive time you will start in residential. Lesson 2 will be working on city driving. Lesson 3 also will be city driving. Lesson 4 will be freeway. Lesson 5 will be rural/small narrow roads. Lesson 6 is our evaluation of driving skills. Lesson 7 will teach you parallel parking and teach you what to expect when taking the road test. Negative experience: Cannot get a live person on the phone. A teen driver almost caused an accident by not yeilding to drivers coming off of the highway. Unsure what they are being taught.

Fantastic experience: We could not be happier with our decision to go with Metro Driving School. Right off the bat I was impressed with the depth of knowledge, organization and ability to guide parents through the teen permit, education and licensing process. Our daughter has a crazy schedule and then got sick during the process, they were as nice and flexible as they could be and were so very responsive. The classroom and in-car training was very solid, and I was actually able to relax and enjoy letting my teen drive vs. being nervous. There are a lot of options, but if you want to work with qualified, organized and NICE human beings that care about doing a good job, this is the place.

Negative experience: For a place that is supposed to be teaching young teenagers how to drive, the instructors don't seem to know how to drive well themselves. A guy driving one of their cars was not yielding to those getting off the high way and did not use his signal to change lanes.

He explained all the aspects very clear and detail , with his tips and practice I passed the test ! Moreover he has no rush lessons and spends more time with you than was planned before ! Fantastic experience: Our family chose Metro-Driving School because of their longevity in our community. I have two children that did the self-study method and thought a classroom setting would meet the needs of my youngest daughter best. It is complicated and challenging to obtain a drivers license for a 16 year old, AS IT SHOULD BE!! I felt very pleased with the experience and training that my daughter received at Metro. I was confident that she was safe with the instructors. I would definitely recommend this method and school over the self taught methods available!
