Fantastic experience: Excellent school! Most of the driving instructors such as Jovan, Sam, and Juan are very patient and go above and beyond. Because of them I passed on my first attempt on my road test and I had no driving experience prior. Also Ivette is like a mother to 160 driving Academy and to her students. She makes it her business to both check in physically at the yard and also make phone calls to check up on you. I couldn’t ask for a better school, I would recommend this school to everybody.

Fantastic experience: I.passed my test on my first attemp (1And Done Club) thanks to my Manual CDL Instructor Boris. I couldn't see myself at another CDL school, all of the staff like Tiname at the office and the instructors at the yard there were all instrumental in my development and success Tam,Glen, Josh, and Jack and my main instructor Boris. I had no prior experience, and passed my roadtest on my first attempt. Boris I truly appreciate your commitment to all of your students. I learned so much from you, thank you for your hard work, dedication and relentless pursuit of excellence. If someone didn't pass the test, under your watch it was because they didn't listen or just couldn't apply what was being taught. Thank you all I'm gonna miss yall. I will always refer people there when asked.

Fantastic experience: Great experience obtaining ny CDL. All the instructors were amazing but I especially want to thank Glenn. He was very patient went it counted, but more importantly he was tough when it counted. It ensured we were ready for out test and passed the first time. I watched him with various students and he was able to take people struggling and had them doing perfect maneuvers. I enjoyed my time there.

Fantastic experience: The best school to attend in my opinion. All the instructors were amazing and they truly want the best for you. They are strict and that’s how it should be. A truck is a big responsibility so they make sure there is no room for error come test day. I just graduated from here and it was the best experience of my life coming to 160. Fantastic experience: This is a good school to attend. The instructors are excellent. I want to also say they take their time making sure you having everything you need before you move onto the next stages of training. My instructor Glenn who I did most of my hands on training with was awesome and Carlos , Byron were my other two instructors who also helped out thanks you guys I really appreciate it.

Negative experience: Don't believe the hype. The instructors in Smyrna were constantly feuding. I learned pretty much everything from other students. They also lied about the money they offer for referring friends.

Fantastic experience: Today I passed my CDL road test and I am extremely in a state of gratitude for the guys of 160 Driving Academy at the Trenton NJ yard location. I had the pleasure of working with Carlos, Josh, Tam, Rambo and Glen all great teachers in their own unique way. I'd ive them 10 starts if I could! Great teachers, the equipment is functional taking into consideration that as newbies LEARNING to drive semis, we are very hard on vehicles that were meant to for hauling not people who's going to best the thing up.... but we pull through, they do a fantastic job at what they do with the equipment they have.... Trenton New Jersey Yard ALL DAY!

Positive experience: Got the job done in a timely and efficient manner for me. Passed both my written and road tests on the first try! There were some things that can be improved upon, but if you can roll with the punches and keep your eyes on the goal, this school will get you there. Shout out to Carlos! Get with him if you can.

Negative experience: Came here to the Trenton location on a Monday morning at 9:20. Almost an hour after they’re suppose to be open. They are closed. No one in sight. Management didn’t know anything. Terrible establishment that obviously doesn’t care about its business.

Negative experience: Been waiting two months for them to finish contracts with the county/state, so I can start school. It’s a shame because the managers and instructors at various locations I’ve talked to are nice, but corporate doesn’t care, even with money in hand. Moving on to other schools.

Positive experience: Drive 160 academy in Trenton, NJ, is the best place to enroll. The instructors are highly experienced and very knowledgeable. They are great at executing the mission, which is to help each and every student graduate and obtain a CDL license. I appreciated all of the time and attention that was directed towards me. Positive experience: I enrolled in 160 because it was in close proximity to my house and it had very good reviews from other past students. I can see why everyone before me gave the school glowing reviews. I passed the CDL road test on my first try, and I give credit to the instructors for making that all possible. James, Glen, Josh, Tammy, Laval, Brian, all of you know who you are and I enjoyed working with you. Everyone here helped me to feel prepared for when I did take the road test, and I believe that if anyone going here puts effort into learning, it can be done no problem. My only complaint with the school that prevented me from giving it 5 stars is the fact that there was a period of time where the school was short on instructors and equipment. I understand that stuff happens that's out of your control (getting sick, trucks breaking down, etc.) but it still didn't seem right how other students were being sent home when they expected to spend the week in training. Aside from that issue, I would recommend that anyone looking to upgrade their driver's license attends this school. One other anecdotal thing- if you do attend this school and pay out of pocket, try to learn to drive on a manual transmission. The learning was more 1 on 1 since most of my classmates were learning on automatic transmission, either because their sponsor required it or because they weren't able to drive a manual and switched over.

Fantastic experience: 160 Driving Academy is and amazing school. I passed my test last Friday, and it was all thanks to every single one of the amazing instructors at the yard and also the instructor that gave the virtual class. I want to give a special thanks to Josh, Gabe, Tami, and Gwen for believing in me and getting me prepared for my test. I also want to thank the administrator Ivette for her professionalism and for making this possible. The staff and students are very friendly and supportive. Negative experience: The lady on the phone told me they could give me a sponsor but when I got there in person they told me I had to pay within 24 hours

I attended 160 in New Jersey on New York park ave my experience there with students and instructors was great Ivette is a nice person she is easy to talk to. I know everyone experiences will be different and everyone will have their own option but this is mine. for the instructors jayvon,josh,gabriel and mike and my favorite starrett but he transfer he is great hands down I work with him and all they other instructors. I take one week to learn everything about the truck and pre trip.just stay focus and remember to use a watch when doing your apply break test to 60 second. thank you Ivette , srarrett , jayvon , josh , Gabriel and mike one love.

Fantastic experience: I was paying my own way to get my CDL A Class license and had many options in the Trenton area. I chose 160 Driving Academy because the people who work there made me feel welcome and confident that I was making the right choice. The class made sense with a week of class time to help me pass the written test followed by field work in their skill training facility. The instructors were very aware of who wanted to put in extra work and get out fast and who wanted more time to get comfortable. I got plenty of time in the seat and 160 Driving Academy had plenty of trucks and trailers that were both manual (10 speed) and automatic. If I felt like I needed more time on a specific maneuver I was allowed to take another truck and split off on my own and keep working. They pushed me to do my best and allowed me the space and time to get ready for my CDL driving test with no time restrictions or requirements. The night before the test the lead instructor even stayed behind and let me just practice the whole test with him 1 on 1 to make sure I was 100% ready. Having trainers with decades of driving experience gave me a real window into what it is ACTUALLY like to be a driver and gave me great confidence that I was making the right choice. I have truck drivers in my family but to have access to the wide range of experiences these trainers have was amazing. I was able to just sit and talk with drivers who have real world experience with all types of driving situations and really pick their brains on the ups and downs of being a professional driver. Overall, I very much enjoyed the time I spent at 160 Driving Academy of Trenton. The class was never stressful or frustrating and I felt stronger behind the wheel every day. Your tuition also includes access to an app that tracks your progress in class and helps you find employment after you graduate. 160 helped me find work and coordinated with many employers to get me pre-approved for jobs as soon as I earned my CDL. I was driving professionally a week after graduating and felt comfortable behind the wheel from day one. My trainers at my first driving job were impressed with my skills as most recent graduates don't know anywhere near as much. I attribute that to my time at 160 100%. I am eternally grateful to the people at 160. I was having a hard time finding work during the pandemic and they got me on the right track to a wonderful career. I will never be unemployed/"non-essential" again now that I have a CDL. I couldn't possibly rate this school high enough. If you're looking at schools, just stop in and meet these wonderful people. You won't be disappointed.

Fantastic experience: Training consisted of a 1-week online class using Zoom & about 3 weeks of range-training.. Instructor James kept those online classes interesting & flowing with the information you need. Ivette, the office manager in Trenton, was awesome, she kept me informed with everything I needed to complete training successfully from start to finish. The instructors at the range-training yard were all very informative & great at their jobs, they taught exactly what was needed to pass the test @ the DMV and made the whole process stress-free. (shout-out to Tammy, Gabe & Jerry ) Each instructor had just a handful of students assigned to them each day, it was nice not having to fight 30 other students for drive-time or to ask a question! I don't have any comments on the cost for the course, luckily my employer sent me to 160 & paid the bill... but I'll end by saying that if I was the one who paid out-of-pocket, I wouldn't be upset with the training that I received.. No complaints or issues at all!

Fantastic experience: I wanted a career change when I saw the ad over a big screen at the Dayton DMV. Gave the call put in the application got accepted you could say. Ivette Josh James Jay Mike John Tam and Gabriel all helpful and grateful for them because they got me to where I needed to be. James my class instructor good at breaking things down so you understand and retain knowledge better. Josh Jay Mike and John out in the yard and on the road with their knowledge and experience helpful in learning quick to drive the truck and trailer. Gabriel great at explaining manual drove 18 speed i learned a lot from him. Ivette great with paperwork and scheduling she done so much for me I’m so grateful. They changed my life and for that Im thankful for the Trenton 160 driving academy. I’m getting my Class A CDL and I have a job getting out of school. I followed their instructions I listened to what they have to say I applied myself and I’m moving on, thanks 160.

Shout out to Ivette, the office manager, who was extremely helpful abd goes above abd beyond from the jump for even a potential student before you are even enrolled. Shout out to the instructors on the yard who were awesome to deal with. John who started recently provided invaluable information as someone who just came off the road a few weeks earlier. He was awesome to deal with and his confidence in me was contagious. Shout out to Jvon, shared alot of laughs. My man Gabe who literally breaks down a pretrip inspection to such easy steps, it made the process of memorizing and knowing all the parts so easy to do within only a few days of being at the school. Lastly, shout out to Mike who I spent most of the time on the road driving with. Pleasure to deal with and provided alot of good insight and road training. As bad as I wanted to get the hell out of school as quickly as possible, I do miss being on the yard. It was fun, nothing about it felt like work or school. I looked forward to it everyday and now thats its over and I’m hired on with a local company 1 week out of school, partially because of the school I went to, I feel extremely satisfied with my decision to go with this school. There are plently of schools out there, but this one definitely distinguishes themselves from the pack. Fantastic experience: My overall experience with 160 from virtual class with instructor James to yard training was extremely positive. Branch manager Ivette was extremely helpful in getting this process rolling. She was positive and pleasant. All the instructors in the yard were very helpful and would help anyone even if they weren't assigned to you per-say true team work. My main instructor Jerry was outstanding could not ask for a better instructor. He believes in you until you believe in yourself and makes the process fun instead of nerve-racking which I believe is why he is so successful in having people pass the first time. Thanks everyone.

I was presented with multiple options on how to go about getting my Class A license and it was very informative. The driving Instructors hands down were awesome. You had a daily routine of how to go over your truck whether you were working for a company or owning your own it remained the same. The staff showed me things that I knew and didn't know. I've went from making 36k a year for the last 4 years to making 100k a year in a matter of six months. With what I was taught I'm a valued asset to my profession. Fantastic experience: Great school great experience. Really opened the door to a new world, and helped to have great people helping every step of the way as well!!

Fantastic experience: Shelly, Demetrius, Juan, Josh, and Ivette were great from start to finish. The in class instruction was great and done by James Manning. James gave us the guides for different types of tests available. When moving to the in yard instruction, the instructors will make sure you are taught the right way. All staff are professional and will teach you the pre-trip and post-trip of the vehicles. My recommendation is to learn both the automatic and manual trucks. If you have questions about being connecting to recruiting, Ivette will make sure you have all you need. Any concerns you have, be sure to see both Ivette and Juan as both are great.

Fantastic experience: They made sure to take there time with me and made that I understood what I was doing and the importance of paying attention while driving. The branch manager Ivette Leonardo took time to make sure that I was able to find a job that suited my needs and family situation

Fantastic experience: I loved this school + all of its instructors. It felt as if I was in real school my 1st week learning & prepping for my Permit. Them after I passed my permit test, My 1st day in the yard was scary lol but the instructors was very informative and got me through the whole process. I will be telling my friends to get their CDL’s & go through 160

Negative experience: JUST CALLED UP AND NEEDED AN APPOINTMENT AND THIS GUY WHO PICKED UP THE PHONE WAS SO RUDE AND UNCOUTH. HE HUNG UP ON ME AND DISPLAYED PURE RHETORIC AND UNPROFFESIONALISM

Fantastic experience: Excellent trucking school, came in from being a waiter and learned how to drive manual with no prior experience and also obtained my Hazmat, Tanker and Doubles and Triples endorsements in 4 weeks! Read the entire 1 star review and you'll see their experience wasn't conducive to a 1 star rating, some people just aren't good test takers and feel salty about it. Great instructors who take the time to make sure you're ready and are more than happy to extend your test date if you feel you need more time!

Fantastic experience: Great place to get your CDL. Instructors are very friendly and helpful plenty of time to practice for the test.

Negative experience: On the down side: Sneaky, misleading liars, in my opinion. When I attended, it was the worst trucking school ever! Their policies were all screwed up. It was like a puppy mill. They rushed you in, and rushed you back out. Be sure to ask a lot of questions before choosing this School, and before getting sponsored by a trucking company. I left one trucking school in Philadelphia to get sponsored at this school, and I had so many regrets. I ended up appreciating the other school that I had abruptly left. At the time I attended this school, the yard was a muddy gravel nightmare...Too flooded to maneuver the vehicles perfectly. Hopefully they've moved on to a better yard now. On the upside: The instructors were fun and offered great instruction. Step by step instruction to be exact, which I did appreciate. Some instructors are more patient than others. They did follow a system, which is fail proof in my opinion. That system was that every morning, everyone as a group started on their airbrake check, then moved on to the pretrip, before being allowed to do maneuvers, etc. A systematic approach that guarantees memorization. I failed my parallel parking twice at the dmv, a maneuver for which I did well when practicing in school...Considering the horrible yard conditions. This school expelled me for failing twice, even though I still had one more test scheduled at the dmv, and they still billed me. Needless to say, 3rd time was a charm for me, and I obtained my cdl the following month on my own, in a rental, and with no restrictions! Honesty, this school should only be an option if you live in the New Jersey area, since their dmv is local to them. I live in Pennsylvania, so I had to test out at the dmv in Pennsylvania. (Big inconvenience for them). My advice to you would be to not complain about anything, learn as much as you possibly can, never give up, and just do the darn thing! Good luck!♥️.

Fantastic experience: Currently enrolled as a part - time student thru Amazon Career Choice program. Attended class in the classroom via amazon. Now attending the 2nd part of the training at the 160 driving academy Yard for hands on. The staff has been very professional and take there jobs seriously. The office manager is awesome with handling of my concerns. The driving instructors are attentive and knowledgeable with plenty of patients.
