Fantastic experience: Attending the school was a great experience. If you listen to the instructors and apply the lesson you will be able to obtain your license. I am not very good at classroom work and memorizing things, but they do a great job at making it easy for someone like me to reach my goal of obtaining my CDL. Fantastic experience: Kansas Truck Driving School was awesome! Charlie, who is the the Career Navigator, was phenomenal when it came to answering any and all questions that I had and was very helpful and supportive when I decided to come to this school and get my CDL. The instructors Sean, Kim, and Robert were all phenomenal as well! Each of them were professional and and really supportive with all of the students. You can tell that they actually care about the students, because they actually want to help them achieve the goal of getting a CDL. I graduated and passed my CDL DMV test (Pre-Trip, maneuvers, and driving test) on 02/03/2025, and I would recommend them 100%. Kansas Truck Driving School also has student services, which will help you find and land a job when you graduate and you pass the final CDL test at the DMV. I can't thank them enough!

Positive experience: Charlie at the front desk was great and can get you set up to start. Sean the senior instructor is funny and really good at his job. The other two instructors are good and bad, depending on their mood and what they are trying to instruct. I didn’t find Joe to be very helpful or on top of things to prepare for weather or when a trainer starts to scream at students. For the most part it is a good school for learning the bare minimum to pass your cdl test. Listen to Sean and you won’t fail!

Negative experience: Short story. I thought about attending Kansas Truck Driving School , and on the spur of the moment I went to the 47th and Broadway location and paid my tuition. A few days later I reconsidered and changed my mind. Cancelling my attendance weeks before the start date with my recruiter which I thought only sold the programs. I requested the administration number so I could formally confirm my cancellation, and receive the information on the process time frame for completion. At that time I was hit with the fact that there is no administration, no financial department, no resources to lodge a complaint or grievance. You have no one but your recruiter,,,,, no one else no departments, nothing. I talked with the instructor there and the only help he had was to talk to the guy that works the desk who took my cashier's check. I even had Steve Overstreet joke about them keeping my money , but only after I had to answer 20 question and endure his attempt at resale me on the idea of attending. The end of our conversation was as every other. That he has made a request for the financial department to complete this and I should hear something soon. The 90 days are up no call, no text , no communication at all. And now no answer from my recruiter.This company is a house of cards. If you don't have any problems you will never know. But if you made the mistake of giving these people your money and for any reason choose a different direction. Good luck with that. Better idea,,,, choose a actual school that has a administration, that's a actual school

They showed me everything I needed to know about the trucks and what I need for my career on the road. I would recommend this school to anyone interested in getting their Class A CDL.

Fantastic experience: Without question, the premiere school to train and get your CDL Class A in Kansas. Hands down, head and shoulders above the rest. I thoroughly enjoyed my time training with Dan and Bryan. They were patient with everyone, giving a very strong sense of leadership as to not let everyone feel lost. I can't sing their high praises enough. You get out what you put into their training. If you pay attention, ask questions and really engage with all the courses, both Dan and Bryan make this suuuuper easy. If you want your Class A CDL and are willing to put your best effort in for it, this is your first and last stop. Charlie helped out tremendously with getting into the school. Very friendly, approachable and explains the whole process so anyone could understand. Seriously, these folks will make your life a billion times easier getting your Class A CDL. Do yourself a favor and give them a call. You won't regret it!

There were absolutely times I would get discouraged with myself but Dan, Bryan, and fortunately my class, were so encouraging and positive!! Fantastic experience: Great place to get your CDL. Took the Manual driving course and it was pretty rough on the first drive so I naturally had doubts in my own ability to learn in such a short window. I was told not to worry and to trust the process so thats what I did. Just a few weeks later I was walking out with my CDL in hand and feeling confident in my ability. Brian and Dan are the ones to thank, great instructors with plenty of real world experience that were able to answer any and all questions and were there to coach every step of the way.

Positive experience: Stop by and see Charlie for information, he always has a smile on his face. Bryan and Dan were very helpful. Dan is really good at giving tips. If you listen you'll do great here, since it's pretty fast pace.

Negative experience: These people refund system is horrible. I am currently six months still waiting for my refund and every time I call they just tell me they don’t know what is going on. I couldn’t go through the course and just wanted my money back. They told me it was in 30 day wait ,six months later and I’m still waiting Plz give me my money back

Negative experience: My daughter had a medical need I had to address and I requested a refund for class as I have to be her caregiver. 30 seconds to process a payment BUT, 90 days to process a refund. Disgusting!

Fantastic experience: When my company wanted me to train for my class A CDL, they reviewed several school options before deciding on KTDS. I’m glad they did. The days weren’t without struggle for the instructors Bryan & Sean. However, through injuries & weather delays they made sure we were properly trained on correct procedures to complete any test the state exam had for us. I would highly recommend Kansas Truck Driving School to anyone wanting to pursue their CDL.

Brain is a great instructor to he to has a lot of knowledge of the trucking industry . All 3 instructors together are great have a lot of years of experience thank you for helping me get my Class A CDL I would tell anyone who wanted to become a truck driver come to Kansas truck driving school they can help you get closer to your truck driving career .

Fantastic experience: I attended this school for the 160 hrs required and had all three instructors Brian Sean and Mark and they were very helpful very informative and great teaching made it easy as can be to not only help you for state test but also for when you move on in future ! Lots yard time practicing manuevers and lots drive time ! I highly recommend This school because of the training I received from the 3 instructors mentioned above !

Negative experience: In-class instructions/videos to me was a waste of time; no physical instructor present @ all. Not enough instructors or reliable trucks for training & the trucks they do have are rentals from Ryder. The supervisor & one instructor quit while I was there.

Fantastic experience: I was very pleased with my experience from the beginning starting with MTC recruiters (Mrs. Meagan) was awesome, she took the time to listen, inform, and help me along the way, it was also comforting that the company would call throughout my training checking on my status making sure everything was going well. My online training and trainers were very knowledgeable and friendly answering all questions during our video training sessions, I felt like I was very prepared for my CDL permit. Once I completed that I went on site where I felt I had really good instructors that not only allowed us students to learn but gave us the room to work our way out of maneuver mistakes. I learned a lot and was able to complete my driver on site training in 3 weeks one and done (CDL-A in hand woohoo).... I can't say enough about how this training will change my life and I was pleased of how throughout my training I felt a family atmosphere. I absolutely recommend this company to those who are ready to jump in with both feet, be confident, ask questions, but most important be ready to listen and learn, top shelf staff.

Fantastic experience: Best thing I ever did was go to this school. Naomi was very nice and points you in the right direction. Dusty and rex are both amazing instructors and they do not give up on you. They set you up for complete success.

Fantastic experience: Its really a good school. The instructors actually care about your learning, I think the golden age of this school, with a new yard, is upon it. Neomi is a goldmine of information and a class act who helped me with the paperwork. Tom is a great teacher in the yard, Chuck is solid on the road and both have the experience in this industry that they know of what they speak. Like some other reviews mention, you'll hear plenty of truck stories, but, for example, I'll know why to use the city horn. For new students who have no idea what is going on its a methodical process, a lot of backing up trailers, but if you put in the time you'll make it to your dmv exam.

Positive experience: This school has potential, but some of the instructors want to spend all day telling you their life story instead of instructing. If you get one of those, you are just wasting your hard earned $3000. **UPDATE** This school has improved greatly from when I went. New and more instructors, but sadly, still the same 2 worn out trucks.

Fantastic experience: My experience with the KTDS was a 5 star rating. I was fortunate enough to have all 3 instructors that have real life experiences that I’ll be able to use in the real world. With the help of Darrell, Chuck, and Tom I have my CDL, 1 and done. The instructors are very professional and truly care for each stundent to grasp the concept of driving semi trucks. Some students though regardless of age/sex simply will not get it, that’s the reality of life. It’s unfortunate however it’s the truth, and these instructors will NOT give up on them which speaks volumes of their character.. Naomi, well, complete package of awesomeness, she helps out any way she can and is truly a professional at her position. Equipment wise you can learn automatic, or manual. Instructors go out of their way to get the equipment for the students. Cons- For a school/company being established since 2005 I’d expected reliable trucks/trailers. During my schooling we had a reliable truck and we had to switch out trucks, simple enough one would think however, the truck the school received has spent more time in shop then at the school. It’s currently road worthy however wasn’t when the school received it. The old adage of “redheaded step child” definitely is in place here. The local staff does everything they absolutely can do, they are moving locations soon so hopefully that does change for future students. But if there is equipment/truck issues etc like when I was there good luck.

Fantastic experience: Thanks KTDS/MTC for everything. The instructors Chuck and Darrell train for success !!! You can tell they genuinely love what they do, by teaching their knowledge and sharing their passion in truck driving with anyone willing to learn. Both are so patient and very thorough. I could not have done it without them. HECK YEAH !!

Fantastic experience: The instructors here are awesome, and with instruction from Darrell, he makes it very informative and fun to learn. I enjoy the school and have learned a lot from all of the instructors here. I’d recommend attending school here and whether you want to learn in a brand new automatic truck or a manual truck you’ll learn it, especially if you’re willing to learn.

Negative experience: Make sure to understand the financial terms and how much it is before signing papers. It's not cheap!
