Fantastic experience: My daughter attended the Grand Prairie location and I couldn't have been more satisfied for what I paid for. The classroom instructors were easy to talk to and the driving instructors never took away from my daughters confidence. Finally, once it became time to take her license exam, she aced it!! I would definitely recommend this school for anyone that has the teen ready to learn.

Negative experience: The staff was very rude and kept giving me conflicting information! I have been dealing with someone telling me one thing and then they say another!!  I WASTED MY MONEY!  I should have just gone straight to DPS, pay $16 and would have had results immediately!!! I paid $75 to submit my daughter’s application (ON TOP OF THE $75 FOR TAKING THE ROAD TEST) online 02/14/25 and I got a phone call Tuesday saying it didn’t go through because of missing SSN (THE SAME PAPERWORK THAT THE STAFF LOOKED OVER)!!  THEY EVEN ASKED ME THE SSN FOR ANOTHER FORM, but THEY WANT TO BLAME ME FOR MISSING INFORMATION when it was given to them and it was their responsibility as well to look over the paperwork before submitting!! THEY ALSO MISSED CORRECTING IT or at least tell me to put it on there before submitting!!  The same way where they told me where to sign and date, ECT!  BUT INSTEAD OF TAKING OR SHARING THE RESPONSIBILITY, THEY WANT TO POINT FINGERS TO BE FOR IT DECLINING AND WANT TO BE RUDE AND CONDESCENDING WHEN I'M ASKING QUESTIONS ABOUT HOW LONG THIS WILL DELAY MY DAUGHTER FROM GETTING HER DL---I DIDN'T WANT HER DRIVING AROUND ILLEGALLY!!! So Tuesday, I asked if it’s submitted then how long will it take to be accepted and I was told 2 WEEKS!!! WHICH DEFEATS THE PURPOSE OF CONVENIENCE AND QUICK TURNAROUND! After hearing this,I then told them at this point, it would be quicker to go to DPS because they approve on the spot and you leave with a temp license! I asked to get my forms and be refunded the $75 online submission fee and they offered to refund half. Then due to schedule issues, I called Wednesday and said to go ahead and submit online thinking it would be processed by Friday where I can just go to DPS and finish processing to get approval. They said they can’t submit until Thursday. I called Thursday to verify if it has been submitted and NO ANSWER and when they finally answered, I WAS RUDELY TOLD, YES I SEE YOU HAVE CALLED A LOT TODAY!! NOW, IT'S FRIDAY and per DPS staff that if they submitted it, it should instantly be in their system to look over the files and they should be able to finish the process!! I was told that once Thursday by DPS in one location. I was told the same thing again DPS appt today when they tell me they can’t find my daughter in their system! A LOT OF RUNNING AROUND WITH NO RESULTS!! THE WORST PART: today I was very annoyed that it’s been a week and still no sign of getting any progress, I called them and asked to just GIVE ME MY DOCUMENTS THEY HAVE AND I WILL SUBMIT MYSELF!! I WAS TOLD OK, AND I WAS TOLD TO COME TO THEIR LOCATION TO PICK UP. IT WAS AN HOUR DRIVE OUT OF MY WAY. WHEN I GOT THERE, AN OLD LADY WAS EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL ARGUING WITH ME IN FRONT OF STUDENTS AND CUSTOMERS!! SHE TOLD ME SHE WILL NOT RELEASE MY FORMS!!! I ASKED HER THEN WHY DID SOMEONE TELL ME TO PICK IT UP WHEN THEY COULD HAVE SAVED ME TIME, GAS, AND FRUSTRATION!!  SHE MADE THE SITUATION WORSE SAYING I DON'T KNOW WHO YOU TALKED TO BUT I'M NOT RELEASING ANY DOCUMENTS!!! I WISH I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN THEIR NAMES!! ONE WAS ARGUING AND CUTTING ME OFF MID-SENTENCE ON THE PHONE AND INSTRUCTED ME TO WASTE MY TIME DRIVING THROUGH TRAFFIC! THE OTHER OLDER LADY WAS RUDE IN PERSON ASKING ME WHY I WAS EVEN GOING TO THE DPS, UNAPOLOGETIC AND NEVER OFFERED A SOLUTION!!  BASICALLY, SHE TOLD ME I WON'T GIVE YOUR DOCUMENTS AND JUST STARED AT ME LIKE I'M AN IDIOT FOR COMING THERE! I HAVE NEVER BEEN IN THIS SITUATION IN MY LIFE AND I WILL REPORT THEM TO THE BBB!!! AND WHOEVER IS IN CHARGE OF THESE WORKERS! THERE IS A CONSISTENT THEME OF "RUDE STAFF, RUDE WORKERS, SMART REMARKS" for over 3-5 years, YET NO ONE SEEMS TO WANT TO CHANGE OR FIX THAT. EVEN IN YOUR RESPONSES TO OUR REVIEWS, YOU DO NOT ADDRESS THE RUDENESS, YOU ARE ALWAYS ON THE DEFENSIVE AND TRYING TO JUSTIFY YOUR WRONG ACTIONS TOWARDS PAYING CUSTOMERS AND ON TOP OF THAT, SHIFTING THE BLAME ON THE CUSTOMERS. ONE GOOD THING: THE ROAD TEST WENT TERRIFIC AND THE LADY THAT TESTED MY DAUGHTER WAS AMAZING!

And they help me in making time that work for me to take the driving lesson and even try to fit at least one hr of observation and/or driving if it can't make it to the time or is about behind. Negative experience: If I could give this business NEGATIVE STARS, I would. FIRST: They changed a driving appt that was scheduled BY THE PARENT, THE WAY THE PARENT wanted it done, WITHOUT CONSULTING the PARENT. What was scheduled was what was chosen BY THE PARENT. If you want to “help” balance out driving vs observation schedules, CONSULT THE PARENT FIRST. SECOND: An instructor said they’d be back by 5:00pm. They came back at 4 and we get a call from our MINOR that he’d been left outside of a locked building in 90+ degree heat BY HIMSELF! This is why kids turn up missing! There is enough human trafficking happening in DFW. THIRD: When I called to express my concerns and asked to speak with a manager, I explained that my MINOR child had been left alone and outside a locked building with NO CONTACT to the parent from another ADULT to who’s care he was left, I was asked: “Does he have a cell phone?” and then told, “It’s a nice day outside.” What difference does any of that make?! YOUR ESTABLISHMENT LEFT A MINOR OUTSIDE in the HEAT, without having contacted a parent!!! FOURTH: The instructor didn’t even complete what my child was scheduled to complete. He was more concerned about “getting in trouble” for allowing a student to drive so my child could get his observation in…but wasn’t concerned at all about just leaving a minor…A MINOR…alone and in 90+ degree weather. FIFTH: There is an EXTREMELY RUDE elderly woman who speaks to one group of kids in a very condescending tone and makes assumptions about them. SIXTH: The protocols for this establishment is UNORGANIZED and has ZERO cross checks to verify information. Nor does it have protocols in place for to keep minors safe!

Negative experience: Do not go to Grand Prairie location. They never have availability for driving test. Also, if you’re able to get in good luck if you’re instructor shows up on time or they don’t cancel on you. They don’t answer their phone or Respond to emails. They will take your money and run. They enroll more students then they are capable of serving. Almost $600 and y’all kept the money that’s more than enough to go to small claims. They could choose to make things right, but they chose not to. This place is needs to be shut down they’re taking advantage of kids and families. Company is continuing to misrepresent events that have taken place. The undoubtably underestimate the value of screenshots. I scheduled all of his test. He only had two driving test. No one has ever mentioned that there was a one-year deadline. I was referred here and paid and registered online. Nowhere on there Did it say that you had one year to complete? They have emailed me blacked out scheduling times. Do not trust them or any information that they provide you.

Negative experience: The people running the place are incompetent. All of their office staff are not trained to operate the simulator so if the instructor calls in sick they can't keep their appointments. They have no confirmation system about appointments. So if they say you have an appointment there is no way for you to document it when they say you missed an appointment and want a missed appointment fee. They keep inaccurate records so when they fail to show up for an appointment and make arrangements to make it up they think you owe them a missed appointment fee because they didn't have anyone to operate the simulator for the first evaluation. I suggest if you give this place a shot you document every bit of their failures to show them when they refuse to refu d your money. Updated response to A+. Being that the staff continues to prove it's incompetence by referencing a student not mentioned in the review. In addition when called to reschedule appointments due to there incompetence and not having every staff member that works in the office to be trained to operate a simulator they charge you a missed appointment fee when the phone call clearly rescheduled the next driving appointment because the first evaluation hasn't happened and they have no way of updating or correcting those appointment. They then store the incorrect inflation in the system. After this first missed appointment and threat of asked appointment fee I should have insisted on the complete refund then but I thought we could be nice. The staff has an older woman who has no ability with customer service none. I believe this is the same woman that is mentioned in other reviews. She is rude and condescending. I would offer an apology to the younger woman working in the office. She seems to have a better grip on the customer service temperament. We have yet to receive the refund requested and they were charging us missed appointment fees that were never missed. Again they keep inaccurate records.

Negative experience: Ms. Harris (the road test instructor) was rude and cocky. She said derogatory things to my daughter that did not even pertain to driving. Instead of being positive and offering encouragement, she tore my daughter down. When I confronted her about it (in the presence of management) she was cocky and snickered in my face. Unprofessional and rude! This had nothing to do with my daughter failing the test. I knew she wasn't ready but she wanted to try, and I supported her. This had everything to do with Ms. Harris poor, judgemental attitude and low key judging my daughter for being 22 and not having her license. Whether she had driving skills or not, you could have encouraged her with tips and wished her luck in the future instead of snickering and just telling her "that's wrong". We all have to encourage one another, and just because there are a lot of mean people in this world doesn't mean that Ms. Harris has to be an arrogant judgemental person. Learn to be supportive and help instead of an ugly person!

Fantastic experience: Took my road test here, and despite sitting in the lobby for 20min making my instructor wait because i didn’t check in, Ms P was very kind and personal during the road test and was coaching me through it. It was no wait, a very relaxing experience, and afterwards i was checked up on that I knew how to proceed with the DMV going forward for my license.

Negative experience: My daughter had a horrible experience at the Grand Prairie location During her session, a Mr. C Chaney made racially insensitive remarks by referring to my daughter's place of residence as "ghetto." Moreover, he unjustly accused her of smelling like marijuana, which is entirely false and unwarranted. Upon discussing this issue with Mr. Chaney, his response was dismissive and lacked professionalism. My daughter, a college honors graduate and a manager in her professional capacity, was profoundly affected by Mr. Chaney's behavior. His demeanor during the lesson was derogatory, sarcastic, and intimidating, causing distress and leaving her in tears by the end of the session. Furthermore, Mr. Chaney suggested that she seek another instructor, adding to her humiliation and discomfort. This evil man has no business around children.

Negative experience: I am having a difficult time getting my son through the teen driving training course and he has been enrolled for a year. The driving sessions were full all Spring and all Summer. He should have his license by now, but he is not anywhere close to getting done. It's frustrating. Everyone told me to do the parent teach option but I had heard this was a good place. My experience has been not good.

Negative experience: I registered for a road test online and it asks you to pay and then pick a date. I paid and didn’t find an available date as I was going to college assuming this is an ethical business. I basically handed them 75$ for no test. I went into the office for two days and on the first day one associate said I will get repaid. The second day I went in and this rude lady said we don’t refund road tests. I’m a college student and it’s a lot of money for me and they had no sympathy for my situation. The whole pay and then pick a date is a scam because no one reads the terms of service and they want to trap you into paying. Be careful guys. My worst ever experience with a business!

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience at A+ Driving School, one of the staff members got me in for a last minute walk in appointment for my driver’s test. The front desk staff was kind to both myself and my family and the instructor was nicer than the one I had when I was a teen. If you need assistance getting your license definitely check out this Carrier location!

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience not only driving with a plus but learning with them. I loved Mr Chad, he’s an amazing instructor and I recommend this place to anyone.

Fantastic experience: My daughter registered last summer and due to covid the classes were virtual which was great for us because it was on zoom. We got the package that had the road test there. I figured to get that included so she can be comfortable with the commute and the people there. The course was good I have no complaints. Let me just walk you through it. You must complete the class and in three days you take your permit out . Before that make sure you schedule it right away then n dps website. The school will tell you that also. Once my daughter go her learners permit she was scheduled for 7 observation and 7 driving sessions. You have to create your own account on their website to schedule and pay for this course . The calendar for openings get book fast so make sure you check everyday for an opening. At the end of the month the new month schedule to book will be available. My advice check early in the morning or at night for openings. You have to be on top of it because it fills up quick. Shout out to Dr. Terry was my daughter instructor. My daughter felt comfortable with him each session and he was nice and sweet and calm. You have a option to book with other instructor’s. When the time came for road test Ms. Harris walked us through the process of the next steps after completing your observation and driving time. Someone had mentioned on the review how she was rude about the air conditioner in their car. To top it off when my daughter did her driving test yes it was hot in April. Who wants to be in a hot car in a hot day totally understandable. When Ms. Harris jumped in our suv my daughter did mention she complemented how the suv had good air lol. So make sure you take care of her with air conditioning Ms. Harris was a good instructor my daughter felt comfortable with her and said the road test was easy for the 20 minutes. What I like about Ms. Harris she does the road test before traffic builds up around that area and she takes them a route where it’s safe. Shout out to her for great job. Oh also the front desk young lady Mia she’s sure a sweet heart. When you go in person or call on the phone she will answer your questions. After my daughter passed her driving test Mia walked us through the next process and took good care our paper work to take to the dmv. She took care of everyone who was waiting to see her in the desk. She is so patience and very detailed thank you for great communication and awesome customer service. This place i totally recommend it to others. They took good care of my daughter and now she has her driver license and drives on her own.

Positive experience: I like that they are centrally located however the customer service and communication is not consistent. I have paid $70 in fees due to miscommunication and inability to speak to someone during office hours.

Negative experience: My instructor was rude and obnoxious. First thing she did when she stepped in my car is complain about how hot it was while rolling down the wind with the cold air blasting outside. This made no sense to me. She also made unnecessary snarky comments. I dont recommend this place to any one with who doesnt have thick skin.

Negative experience: This is in response to the owner's reply to Paloma, since you didn't provide a substantive reply to mine or my daughter's reviews. I doubt that everyone that takes their road test there is thrilled w/your service. All anybody has to do is just call your office and speak to Ms. Harris ( I believe that's her name) just to get a sense of the rudeness/unprofessionalism there. Thanks for all helpful tips and instructions you wrote regarding bad driving habits that were written in reply to Paloma. Instead of the instructor trying to distract my daughter while taking her road test by asking her where she got her steering wheel cover, asking her if the car was hers (3x times) and seriously doubting that she took the classes at your academy, asking if she had even driven her own car, maybe she should have given her those tips or stayed quiet through the process instead of being so rude to her. As far as the mask, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention has recommended that fully vaccinated people wear a mask in public indoor settings. I think it would have been much safer for the instructor to put a mask on since everyone was in such close proximity to each other in the car. I note you didn't address the ride along person. Speak to and confirm w/the ride along person to verify what we are saying here. I'm glad the ride along was courteous enough to wear a mask. My daughter wore a mask. "You wrote if you are stressed out and distracted on the road, you need more practice", let me say, if the instructor is rude, condescending and doesn't like working with teen/young adults, find another area of work where they can be happy. What transpired during the road test was so unnecessary! I'm thinking we are going to be better off testing with a Texas State Trooper (carrying a gun, even pointed at her head) instead of the stressful situation you provided. I agree, with you on one point, your road test should have been less stressful but unfortunately it wasn't. If you prefer that I contact the office directly so that we can talk about this further, I have no problem! I called the Arlington office last week and spoke to Deborah but I have yet to get a call back. Lastly, FYI - my child is not special needs and although my child is of Hispanic origin, we do speak, write and understand English so I don't think that was the issue.

Negative experience: Very rude driving instructor. Didn’t wear a mask. Rolled down the window and was very distracting. Also very condescending. Don’t come here unless you want to be stressed out and distracting during your test.

Negative experience: Took my road test here and it was one of my worst experiences! I hadn’t even pulled out of the parking lot yet and the instructor was already huffing and puffing! She was very rude and at one point starting banging on her clipboard in anger or frustration, not sure. She didn’t wear a mask (which I thought was required) and we even had a ride along, which I didn’t know I was going to have nor did I really agree with. Instructor kept asking if the vehicle was mine and didn’t believe me when I said I had taken the courses there. I’m sure the ride along could agree that the instructor was very rude and unprofessional. A+ should confirm with ride along if they have any doubt as to what I’m posting here.

They teach in a fun, interactive, and professional way and their driving sessions helped me build lots of confidence in driving. Scheduling is easy and their hours are flexible. I would recommend A Plus Driving School to parents who want their children to learn how to drive confidently and safe.
